Hello everyone, lovely new fred here... I've been reading and thinking my responses... don't suppose you all subliminally felt my replies? No? Oh well, time for phone typing then... Pls bear with the iPhone spelling mistakes, it has a mind of its own.
Lia, hope you're feeling a little better... I know you know this pregnancy lark backwards, but just reminding you it's all hormones going mad, I had some big downers round about 20 something weeks and I remember Unbuffy had been going through the same not long before... It was awful, but, as they say, 'this too shall pass'... Meantime maybe a few more of those Xmas mince pie slice thingies?
Loopy it seems like yesterday I was feeling just like you, far too early to be thinking about mat leave dates... Now all of a sudden I'm wondering how I'm going to fit my handover into the next two and a half weeks! Just a reality check for you on how exhausting it is near the end in case you're planning the superwoman working right up to the end plan... Easy to be optimistic if you're having a good 2nd trimester!!
Happy, not just me with the initially scary, then somewhat embarrassing trip to the delivery suite then! I did the same ten days ago... Mine was more of a gush... My pelvic floor obviously not as strong as I'd thought
. Always good to be reassured though. And as you say, useful to have the overnight bag ready (I have no baby bits yet though... Time for nappy shopping I think).
Very best of luck for friday's ECV, hope your little one's nice and co-operative.
Gilda, amazingly impressive namechecking! I doubt I'll get much further before my train gets to London Bridge and I have to hit post... On the slings... We had a baby bjorn last time... Both DH and DS loved it. Just the basic one... Ten a penny on eBay and used ones are much softer and nicer (machine washable too). We had a hammock type over one shoulder sling too, but have given it away and not looking for a new one. DH liked it but I'm concerned now with the suffocation warnings for that type. (and I found over just one shoulder quite uncomfortable). Love the fabric slings, I want a nice bright pink one! I know I'm having a boy, but it's me has to wear it too.....
Meita, you got me thinking again on GBS... I picked up a very detailed leaflet at the hospital so will ask the consultant tomorrow. If labour as fast as DS and my waters don't break till the moment of delivery again we'll be fine, it seems.. But any long protracted labour or early membrane rupture and I shall be requesting anti b's for sure.
And reminds me also to chase up results of swab they took on my recent trip into delivery suite. Though 50% false negative doesn't sound too good... So glad Ianto's fit and well.
Welcome inbetweener and appleblossom and emmywoo, apols if names spelt wrong, just lost connection and my history pages have blanked out... Suffice to say congrats to all and welcome to the worrying... Just bear in mind the most likely outcome is for all to be well and the best you can do for your babies is to 'keep calm and carry on'...
Viv was thinking of you when Take That were on telly at the weekend. I missed the big debut performance because DS chose the moment it started to start yelling for me (he's forgiven, has been quite poorly and was running a scarily high fever... All fine now thankfully). Were they good??
So much more to say, but nearly there now, so waves to all, to those I missed, and can I just say 'what Gilda said'??
And a special big hug for Louise whilst you wait for laptop to get fixed.
