Aaahrrrgh! Washing machine broke. Service person can't come before Friday. By when we will be drowning in piles of dirty washing... needless to say, we will have to use disposable nappies for the time being...

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 23/11/2010 09:48

No idea about the snow stats - the joys of Facebook. They always get it wrong round our way. Moon boots are ready and I might have to do a dash to the shops to panic buy later JUST IN CASE! GrinHmm

Well done with the feeds Sam & Ruby! Hooray for maternity leave Muser! Are you on countdown now? Good luck finishing your essay Ivy.

23 weeks today, so 14 weeks to go........lots of kicks from both sides which can now be felt by DH :) just need to get DD to sit still long enough so she can feel. Ranitidine is working a treat so any of you with 24 hours heartburn get yourself some. However, I am itching all over, mostly I can just ignore but last night I had to get up at 1am to have a shower to try and calm it...........hormones Angry

Work today, off for some nursery rhymes at the library and then making road safety pictures as part of road safety week.......I am thinking crayons and felt pens for decorating rather than paint and sticky bits. So glad I don't need to use my brain much at the mo..........although somedays this is tougher and more demanding than commuting to the big smoke and running personal injury cases to trial..............Hmm

Will stop gas-bagging now........have a good day al!
x

Muser · 23/11/2010 10:09

Meita get your other half down the launderette for a service load. Dump the washing, pick it up again a few hours later all clean and folded.

Thanks very much loopy, samb, gilda , ivy and happy ye yesterday was a good day , today not so. It seems to be 1 bad day 1 good day. Been to gps this am as want to double check I haven t got any lasting effects from the infection from the pacental swabs. I acquiring some antibiotics from work , my Swab result from last week by the consultant was nad but I m going to treat myself anyway. All go did wad a water sample but I don t have signs or symptons of a uti , I know it's not a pelvic infection as such as I treat and prescribe for these at work and I ve not got any of the signs etc... Of this. Ho hum ..,.,

Hope you get your washing machine sorted meita

Hi to all ... Hope everyones ok.

Bloody " this morning" and stupid smug Holly .there's going to be a piece ( don t know what else to call it ?) about women requesting sections as too scared to give birth naturally. Oh , if only it was that simple !!!!! Don t these stupid people realise that really is not a problem.

Sorry not to name check. Too many xx

sparklyrainbow · 23/11/2010 11:28

Oh Louise, hope today gets better for you. Agree piece on GM sounds crap (not watching, I am nesting!). A bit like the way people get excited by 12 and 20w scans in a way- I found both terrifying, some people just seem to treat them as a nice day out Hmm. Anyway, you'll have another good day soon, maybe tomorrow :)

Meita hope your washing machine nightmare is righted soon

Waves to Sam, love your random post times and you sound so happy... I can't wait to meet my little boy now! I've had a bit more (probable) plug but no blood, though had a little scare last night when I had a regular pattern of BHs after a bit more and just felt weird- however managed to go to sleep so figured it couldn't be anything. Just hang on a couple more weeks little one...

Gilda I started mat leave yesterday too, though have been on sick leave for 3 weeks so it doesn't feel much different tbh! Though I am moving better thanks to physio exercises and stuff so that's good.

Waves and love to everyone, off to nest a bit more x

Not good at this waiting game - and have only 2 weeks before the Medical Profession gets in mitts on (and in, ergh!) me. ho hum.

Wrote long namecheck yesterday in fit of organisation and lost the bugger. Will try again later.

clareanna · 23/11/2010 12:57

Loopy I don't WANT the medics to get me!!! I want to do it all by myself - I feel i failed last time and want to have a go at it properly! but 'twill happen when it happens. I spose.

louisesh · 23/11/2010 14:26

sparkley enjoy mat leave xx

Hi clareana hope you are keeping well? Xx

loopy I know try to ignore all this crap everywhere!!!

I too know what's meant by dreading scans. I thought we had cracked it this time by erasing all the previous bad scans by all the good scans we had with Georgie until whack the last scan to tell us her heart had stopped at 41 weeks, 1 day. How do you get past that for a shitty scan ????

Oooh we have been busy on the thread, lovely to hear from some people who have been a bit MIA too.

Louise hope you can have another good day really soon, I very much enjoyed your jokes!

Am having steak and chips cooked for me as it's my birthday, so must go and look super-appreciative (which I am) but just wanted to drop in quickly and wish unbuff some good labour vibes (I too am bouncing around on a new ball and highly recommend) and sympathise with meita - ours broke with all DH's work shirts in and I had to go round and beg our neighbour to let us do them, so I feel your washing pain (although admittedly we didn't have nappies!)

Have a good evening everyone, v jealous of those now on mat leave, I can't wat!

SamanthaB123 · 24/11/2010 06:10

And welcome to another installment of 'how to keep awake when night feeding'... Grin

The best way that I've found to keep awake when feeding in the small hours is to construct long and elaborate posts, the more complex the better. Setting small challenges such as not losing a long post or updating the list add to the fun and sometimes take longer than the actual feed.

Hmm, maybe the lack of sleep is finally taking its toll!!!

Grin Grin Grin

Louise bad days are to be expected but it's brilliant that you are having some good days too because previously that hadn't happened. Fx for tomorrow being another good one.

toomuchteaching Happy Birthday! When does your maternity leave start? It's so lovely not to have to go in any more. I remember the relief. How long are you planning to be off for?

Buffy Two weeks is ages away. You can't control when up go into labour so it's a waste of time fretting. Keep bouncing and hope for the best. I don't think I know what happened to you last time (sort if I'm being a bit ignorant). I'm sure it will be ok this time...

Clareanna 5 minutes pushing! I was examined and was 8cm. During the exam my waters broke and I just needed to push. She was born 5 minutes later. I'm certain that the position she was in aided such an effective second stage which is why I'm so 'for' the birthing ball.

morning sparkly Hope nesting is going well. I long for the clean and tidy house I had in late pregnancy!

So it's taken all night to type the above - four hours between feeds again. This is magnificent! Hope everyone has a good day, SB x

toomuch happy birthday for yesterday xxx

Alibobster · 24/11/2010 11:12

Can I join please ladies. 3 previous m/c, now 5wks 2 days pg

Feling absolutely terrified, stomach constantly churning. Any ideas how I can calm myself down?

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 24/11/2010 12:20

Welcome Alibobster you have come to the right place. Try not to panic, each day as it comes. Will you be having an early scan?

Sending Buff labour vibes, hoping you have a good day today louise and happy belated birthday to Toomuch and I hope you enjoyed your steak! Yummy!

Feel like total crud today and having a wobble Confused which I can generally avoid and have been quite good at keeping positive.........Lots of pressure on my bladder had me peeing like a loon last night and really paranoid that I was actually leaking fluid......it was def wee. Feel really washed out today and quite anxious as still feel like I need to pee al the time. Going to GP later to get checked in case of uti. Think it's just a combination of Thing1&2s position and getting so big so quick. All I keep thinking is I am near to 24 weeks, viabilty etc etc....dear god hang in there.......

Alibobster · 24/11/2010 12:23

Yes Magic8ball, having a scan next Wednesday which is something at least
