SamanthaB123 · 16/11/2010 04:58

Good morning! I hope everyone is sleeping and not too uncomfortable. This is going to be a really exciting thread - loads of babies are due soon! Everything is going well here aside from some usual post natal niggles. Ruby and I are fighting our second bout of thrush in three weeks which is very tiresome. Feeding is going well in spite of it. She is a bit noisy around 9pm at the moment and we are keeping it all crossed that it isn't colic. In spite of all the pregnancy worries I have the most beautiful baby who is healthy in every respect, I feel so lucky.

Welcome to the newcomers and much love to the oldies. I can't name check because I'm on my phone and switching between the threads is tiresome! Hope you all have a great day today, Sam x

inbetweener · 16/11/2010 10:21

Hello,
I thought I would follow the link that Sam posted on the Conception board.

So, erm Im 36 Blush I work fulltime and I am currently 5+3 !! I had a miscarriage in October and am absolutely terrrified to be pg again so quickly but thrilled, and excited at the same time.

I have 2 DD's aged 6 and 8 and am probably crazy to be on this ride again !

At the moment my GP thinks I am not pg Hmm. I went to her yesterday to tell her I am pg and she insisted I have a blood test to confirm it before she would take it any further. I felt like a crazy woman. So I off I went to the hospital before work and I should get the results tommorrow and presumably then she will book me in !! In the meantime I am petrified !!

So thats me. I would love to join you all Grin

Unbuffy · 16/11/2010 12:15

Just bookmarking, reeely. Back from long and tedious shopping trip to supermarket plus butcher (every time i go in there he says, 'still here then?' - it's getting boring!) plus buying lots of firewood (got them to lift into car, preg card has to have its uses) to keep us warm!

will check in again later x

lia66 · 16/11/2010 12:25

just marking my place, and actually I am 21+5 today, fat, miserable and grumpy. :(

Thanks for new thread Sam, hope everyone else in better mood than me. x

lia66 · 16/11/2010 12:26

sorry, Welcome inbetweener we are a lovely lot in here, no rants go ignored and no such thing as a silly question.

Congratulations. :)

Hi All. Liking the shiney new thread.

Welcome to Inbetweener.

Nothing to report here - just expanding! Looking forward to 20 week scan in 3 weeks time where we will hopefully see if beany is a blue one or a pink one Smile.

And hoping to get some movements soon - keep thinking I should given 4th pregnancy and felt movements quite early with DD1&2. Yep the old paranoid head is working well - thinking I may be in need of a big fishy slap Blush

Hope everyone is well.

Goodluckbear · 16/11/2010 13:27

Ooooo - lovely new thread!! Hi everyone, new and old.

Things are ok here, I think the bub is head down (well, my midwife thinks so) so hopefully all good for the last few weeks. It feels odd though - there is a hard bump (it's bum?) at the top of my bump on the left hand side, and then I can feel pushing at the bottom of the bump on the right hand side. It's as if that baby is diagonal across the bump, if that makes sense? Feels weird. Looks weirder - lopsided.

Penguin - will get the fish ready for you, I think I held onto it for a while.....3 weeks can't go quick enough!!

Welcome inbetweener Smile

Lia - hope the day gets better for you xxxx

SamanthaB123 · 16/11/2010 14:53

Hi, glad everyone's happy with the thread. Perhaps we should have a decoration putting up party?!!

Still on my phone so some random posting may follow...

penguins I thought I should feel movements at about 20 weeks but it turned out I had an anterior placenta. I didn't feel much movement until about 24 weeks. Also bear in mind that it really depends which way the baby is facing. If the limbs are to your back you won't feel much at all.

Welcome inbetweener I am delighted that you followed the thread! Welcome, this is a great place to be pregnant, you can say whatever you feel and support will always be offered. Your doctor sounds like an eejit, well done for conceiving so quickly. I conceived on my second cycle after mc - my pregnancy was textbook (minor irritations of course) but one very healthy and thriving baby.

loopy I have seen a bfc but do need to go back to the gp as our medication is nearly finished and we are not completely clear. I was a bit disapointed with the bfc as we had undisguised thrush and she didn't pick it up. Hey ho.

Hi jolls how are you doing? Do you know what happened to Cheepz? Haven't seen her around for ages? Or maybe she has changed her name?

buffy I am so looking forward to hearing your news! It won't be long now (although I do remember my own complaining so please do feel free to say it all!)

I had been thinking about a post natal thread for us to go onto but I would prefer this thread to have us all on it. We have been through it all together and I think it's nice to have experiences from all stages of pregnancy and parenthood. What do you think? I don't think I want to go anywhere else!

Ok the feed is over, more during the night I expect! Love to all, Sam x

Short neurotic post as about to take off. Waiting in queue and the guy in frog dropped his case and the handle hit me in the stomach. Wasn't hard and was under my bump- around bikini line. Am I bring neurotic? Am o neg so a bit concerned. Back tmrw so not sure if should call midwife or if overreacting?

northerngoldilocks · 16/11/2010 16:15

Guy in 'front'. Sorry for bad typing

HappyGirl1 · 16/11/2010 16:43

Lovely new thread!!

northern i would personally call MW just to put your mind at ease as otherwise you will be up the walls with worry. However I got some very good advice from the ladies here a few months back who advised that baby is super protected in there and v v unlikely to have even felt the handle so try not to worry but maybe just give her a buzz jst so you can relax..

samb i was only thinking that the other day, i'd love to stay in touch with you all. don't mind if it's on this thread or another.

glb great news your baby is head down Smile.. i think lobsided tummies are normal - mine makes crazy shapes all the time!

Penguin best of luck for the next 3 weeks.. hope it flies by for you Smile

welcome inbetweener - this is a fab thread

thanks sparkly - great to be reaching the 37 week milestone but just feeling a bit blah now cos I don't know what's happening. Have to wait til Friday for the ECV and just kind of want to know if i'm going to have a natural delivery or a c section etc. Also feels like i've got ages and ages to go yet but all of that is a good complaint. Main thing is that baby is okay hopefully.

hi to everyone - hope ye are all having a good day

northerngoldilocks · 16/11/2010 16:47

Thx happygirl I get back tmrw night so could call thurs morning. If she thinks it's an issue I could still have anti d as would be within 72 hours ( in all probability I'm overreacting though)

crochetcircle · 16/11/2010 16:56

Gi1da thank you for my kipper slapping. Is this some kind of mn tradition? You will be pleased to hear that when I have a bit of a worry (most days/hours) I do actually think of the kipper slapping and smile! It reminds of of how futile my worries really are.

Loopymumsy thanks for thinking of me for the list, I feel very included but I've actually tried not to have/know/remember an EDD (this is real head-in-sand stuff i know!) as I am not thinking that far ahead. Clearly its in June. And also very close to the day I mc'd this year. So I might wait for an EDD from the scan before I go on the list proper. But its nice to be there - today I am 10+3.

inbetweener welcome aboard and good luck for your pregnancy! A good friend got pg straight after her mc and now has a lovely little girl to show for it.

For me its 2 days until the day we discovered the mmc last time round. But I feel very different physically and I'm not feeling as worried as I thought I would be. Fx'd all round!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 16/11/2010 17:20

Hi Ladies, no gaviscon on cornflakes for me today spoke to midwife who has prescribed rainitidine so hopefully that will help as it is getting me down having heartburn within half hour of waking up! Anom scan all good, everything present and correct although babies were basically a bag of limbs crashing around so was hard to get a good snap shot! My god it looks cramped in there already! Back in 3 weeks for fetal cardio scan. Had a little shopping spree on the way home Grin

Sorry for selfish memememememeem post will be back later to check up on you all xxx

Redheadgal · 16/11/2010 17:58

Hi all, just marking my place. Been run off my slightly swollen feet here, trying to get the house ready and sort out all my work before maternity leave. The bathroom was tiled today, the kitchen worktops arrive tomorrow and hopefully the stairs :-) The baby's room is being plastered and we have just decided how we want it decorated so feeling pleased about that.

In other news... I finally have my booking in appointment tomorrow! Wooo hooo!!! At 32+5 weeks it must be a record! Actually, not so scary as I've seen one of the midwives down here and I've already had a scan and got a consultant appt booked for next week, so on track really, I just like to see jaws drop when I say it. Slightly more alarming news... she's looking rather on the large side so going back for another scan on Friday to see if she's any smaller (for her dates that is, can't see that she'll have shrunk). Spoke to my DH about the possibility of a homebirth today and he was rather Hmm

'Fraid it'll have to be a quick catch up:

Welcome to Crochet, Appleblossoms and Inbetweener - this is a great place to hang out and you'll get good advice and hearty kipper-slaps. Do we get a new kipper with a new thread, that one's surely starting to smell...?

Northern - If you're worried, call. It can't hurt whereas stressing out about it can be exhausting.

MagicSpider - glad the scan went well... Did you find out what you're having (besides twins!) or is it going to be a surprise?

Unbuffy, GLB and Happy - glad you ladies at the top of the list are hanging in there. It feels interminable at 32 weeks, I can't imagine what it must be like at 37ish. When will it ever end?

Sam - lovely to hear from you. So pleased you're enjoying your time with Ruby although hope the thrush clears up quick. And Meita - gosh, can't believe Ianto is 12 weeks already!

Sparkly - hope you get your sparkle back and that girdle wotsit helps the pelvic pain.

Louise - everyday you are in my thoughts. x

Jolls - lovely to hear from you!

Waves to Clareanna, Gilda, TMT and everyone else I've managed to miss.

emmywoo · 16/11/2010 18:06

Hi all, Had miscarriage 9 weeks and found out today that I am pregant again, very quick and sort of happy but very scared/nervous at the same time. I am about 5 weeks. I have been getting pain in lower groin area, not sure if slept funny last night or bad sign. thanks for setting up great thread. xx

dorcas111 · 16/11/2010 18:14

Hi everyone, I've not been on for a while. Can't believe I'm 29 weeks! I am definitely not blooming, although everyone keeps saying how 'well' I look. Do you think they just mean fat??? I have heartburn all the time ( magic I feel your pain- quite literally. I am swigging from my gaviscon bottles constantly), headaches, my ankles have disappeared, and now I have got piles. Joy!
Right, just needed to get all that off my chest- I'm not as miserable as that rant might have made it sound. I love my huge belly and watching/ feeling the baby move about. This weekend would have been when my first baby was due, so I am feeling very blessed to be where I am. I know that if I wasn't pregnant I would be finding it incredibly hard. I'm not sure how I feel really, or how I'll feel on the day.
Also, I am completely deluded and need slapping. For some reason I thought I would try on a size 10 dress (my pre-pregnancy size). It was quite a loose, smock like one, but still- apart from the fact that I have a pretty large bump out front there was no way in hell it was even going to make it past my nipples. I think I am just not used to having big boobs! Needless to say I got stuck in the damn thing and it took several hot, sweaty minutes of exertion to get out of it.
Sorry not to namecheck, I am a bit overwhelmed by how many posts I have missed, but just wanted to pop in and say hello and catch up.

clareanna · 16/11/2010 19:41

Lovely new busy thread! and fab to hear from dorcas and RHG and Goodluckbear too.

emmy glad you've found us - I think nearly all of us experienced the fear of cramping and pain in early pg which can be exlained as things stretching a bit in the early days. Try not to worry (easier said than done)

Dorcas I know exactly how you feel - both from a due date POV and from a getting stuck in clothes POV! re the Due Date, it can be really tough, but I found that anticipation was worse than the actual day itself. big hug to you

Magic any idea what flavour the spiderbabies are? glad you've got some decent drugs for the heartburn.

northern I'm sure all will be fine, but try to rest a bit and speak to your MW for reassurance tomorrow.

penguin hope all well with you too - you could have an anterior placenta which means it's harder to feel movements?!

I am OK - you may recall that I broke my toe in July (I surely complained enough about it at the time?!) and as a huge lover of high heels this has been torture. Well, I'm now back in my prize pair of black patent platform court shoes (realise this last sentence makes me sound like a hooker) and have nearly crippled myself today. Fashion and bumps are practically incompatible!

Gi1da · 16/11/2010 19:59

Evening All! Quicky place marker.

SamB top banana for knitting the sparkly new thread Smile and a cuddle for Ruby.

Meita thank you so much for the info on Strep B - I have a mw appt tomorrow so will ask about private testing, and what the implications are for home birth - presumably couldn't have one if needed an iv.

Bunting a go-go for emmywoo congratulations on your dufferdom - welcome.

Grin at Dorkas stuck in a cubicle semi-attired. I did much the same thing in Jigsaw when I was about 25 weeks - lovely silk empire line dress in the sale - thought I would get away with it, all billowing and blooming - then got stuck and was terrified I'd rip it trying to get it back off again Blush.

LuckyBear I have a diagonal bub - bobbins has been head down for the last few appointments - and has just had a burst of hiccups which I can feel low down, big bum up at the top shifts from one side to the other with the occasional foot / elbow (?) stuck out on the right (never left).

Nice to see you Redhead very Envy of you getting your house so sorted - ours is still, and will remain so I'm sure for some time, um, very ah, shabby-chic...to put it politely.

Crochet glad the kippering helped. If things get really dire we break out the monkfish.

How-do Jolls Smile

Been thinking of Moof - any news? Fx for you.

Mesmerised by the notion of Magics bag of legs, must be incredible to see on a scan - do they tango? PS - How's MagicSis doing?

Smile oops - this was supposed to be a quick post, real life calling Wink. Hello to everyone I missed, speak soon x.

ooh - pss - Can someone with sling experience recommend a structured one for DH? He's worried that he won't tie a cloth one right. [duh] (bless]
