clareanna · 16/01/2011 13:10

Crikey and OMG RHG truly scary stuff - you are a very brave lady and I'm delighted that you're on the mend now - the human body is amazing.
Welcome to the world baby Cecily! lovely name.

As a previous member of the not exactly perfect birth club, I'd just like to recomend a couple of things - make sure you talk about your experience a lot, take up the offer of the 6 week hospital check and chat about the birth, and ask your mw about counselling options if you feel you're having flashbacks / getting upset. Hormones are a wonderful thing (as are pain meds!) and they will see you through the first few weeks, but if you do feel upset in the months to come I found talking about it is the best way through xxx

nickstermum · 16/01/2011 14:26

Wow r h g congrats on your newborn babys safe arrival and hope you recover quickly xx gorgeous name xx

Clareanna, I wholeheartedly agree about revisiting Hosp to discuss birth experience, I didn't! I have been given an opportunity to de brief now I am pg again, though saying that.

I have felt lousy all weekend having had my swine flu jab :( we had a family outing for it and have all been rubbish for 24 hours!

toomuchteaching · 16/01/2011 19:10

Oh bloody hell RHG that's not doing things by halves is it!? But I'm so pleased to hear that you're ok and that you have your lovely little girl (with a beautiful name). This thread at the mo is making me more and more sure that it's the arriving safely rather than how it happens that matters.

News from TMT towers is that I had a show this morning. I'm trying not to get over excited but I've been dying to tell someone all day, and it's not exactly the kind of thing you can share!

Things are very labour focused at the moment, so extra waves to those nearer the start than the end... it feels like you'll never get here, but you will, you really will.

Am going to try relaxing again after another bounce. Fingers crossed.

Lotta123 · 16/01/2011 19:15

So glad you're okay RHG. And big congratulations to you and WYG.

Thanks for sharing that Lia about OC. Reassuring to hear from other people that have had it.

appleblossoms · 16/01/2011 19:52

Wow RHG what a dramatic entrance for your little one. How very scary for you all. I hope you're all recovering now and you get to go home very soon.

TooMT I'm very excited to see what happens with you over the next little bit (not too long now hopefully!) Looking forward to a lovely update soon.

I felt rubbish for a couple of days after the flu jab too nicks, just utterly exhausted and almost achey. I guess it's just your body using all it's energy created the antibodies or whatever it does! Hope you feel better soon and your energy returns... not much fun on top of first trimester symptoms I bet!

crochetcircle · 16/01/2011 21:30

Congrats RHG & WYG! Lovely to hear of safe arrivals.

I had a lovely birthday present yesterday which was a new wriggly kind of movement from my baby when I work up. Things are hotting up down there.

apples it's lovely to share with you too, especially as it gets closer. Nearly half way now. My scans not til 8th Feb - I can't wait to find out the sex (and of course all the other important stuff they'll check for too!)

Waves to everyone else and good luck to our four waiting to join the list.

crochetcircle · 16/01/2011 21:31

Woke not work clearly! Silly phone thinks it knows best...

appleblossoms · 17/01/2011 08:29

Happy belated birthday crochet, what a lovely present from the baby! Let's hope it continues to be that considerate and kind!! Wink

toomuchteaching · 17/01/2011 08:33

Am contracting as we speak. Thank heavens for TENS!

Will let you know the news when I can... thanks everyone for those labour vibes.

Lots of love all!

Muser · 17/01/2011 09:06

Ooh, so exciting! Hope you have a gentle sneeze of a delivery toomuch. The top of the list is defintely clearing out!

PenguinsMummy · 17/01/2011 09:21

Wow RHG - that was a bit scary!! Very glad to hear that all is well now.

TMT Fingers all crossed for you to have a quick and easy labour and delivery!

Morning everyone else - hope all is well Smile

clareanna · 17/01/2011 09:24

hurrah toomt great news that you're getting going!

dorcas how are you feeling?

eek muser we're nearly there - can you believe it?!

Happy birthday to crochet too - birthdays take on a whole new meaning don't they?! having DS really changed the way I saw my relationship with my mum - aaah feeling all soppy now!

appleblossoms · 17/01/2011 10:58

ooh toomt how exciting!!! Good luck, here's to a really easy relaxed birth!

dorcas111 · 17/01/2011 11:44

Congratulations WYG and redheadgal, lovely news. And what beautiful names, both of them. redheadgal I hope you are not in hospital too long and get home soon.
TMT I'm so excited for you- talk about keeping you waiting till the last minute. Hope all is going well.
I'm okay Clareanna, thanks for asking. How are things with you- hope the SPD isn't too bad.
I'm quite excited/scared that I am about to graduate to the top of the list- how did that happen? I had lots of anxiety dreams last night and every day I find something new to obsess over. At the moment it's the fact that the baby feels like it is wedged firmly into my right hip. I am worried that they are stuck there and won't be able to come out. Does anyone know if that is possible?
Crochet, happy birthday- what a nice present from the baby. Feeling them move is lovely isn't it, especially after those first few months when you just have to trust that they are in there and doing ok. Being able to actually feel them move is so much better.
G1lda, hope you're doing okay and recovering well.
Hi to everyone else, hope you all had lovely weekends.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 17/01/2011 12:10

Good luck Toomuch I look forward to hearing your good news!!

Happy Birthday for yesterday Crochet hope you had a lovely day with more wriggles :)

Nick not just me that felt like poo after my flu jab then. Horrible. Hope you are feeling better now.

Many congratulations to RHG on the arrival of your little girl :) My you had a time of it but I am glad all is well.

Cots are up..............feels very real now there are 2 cots in there................shit. I can't help but keep going in there though and just sitting looking around and day dreaming.......did with same before I had DD Grin Scan & Midwife tomorrow so hopefully will get an idea of weight.

VivClicquot · 17/01/2011 12:26

Awww congratulations RHG on the arrival of Cecily - it sounds as though it was quite some labour, but am glad all was well. I'm another who LOVES the name. ( Is it the done thing to confess that it's actually on our girls list? :) )

Love and congrats too to WYG - it sounds like an amazing birth, and what another gorgeous name with Hester. Hope you're enjoying every second x

Finally, toomuch - am sending lots of good wishes your way! Hope everything goes smoothly, and look forward to hearing your news.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you all had lovely weekends.

On Saturday, we bought a pram.... This shit just got real. Grin

xxxx

BunnyBaby · 17/01/2011 13:22

Well done RHG! And how exciting TMT.

Gilda I am also hormonal and overwhelmed following section, but also was a lot like this after DS1. Am finding it good to talk through feelings especially with midwives.

Everyone talks about walking and feeling like insides falling out post-section. I remember the same feeling post vaginal birth too and had to wear corset-y things it felt really odd. Though definitely more painful post-section and am missing being able to drive and go out with buggy.

Waves to everyone! A bit rubbish at keeping up at the moment!

Unbuffy · 17/01/2011 13:40

Hi all

Mahoosive congratulations to WYG and RHG - it's all happening here at the moment! I hope you get to go home soon RHG and get to properly get used to your new arrival Smile
Another one loving the names, too.

WOuld like to second (third? fourth?) the post-cs recovery difficulties, but to reassure you that 6 weeks seems to be the magic number - not only am i feeling SO much better but I CAN DRIVE AGAIN! And walk the dogs - not far, but a bit! So after all my complaining the past couple of weeks i have now officially stopped (for now)!

Must go, baby calling Smile

clareanna · 17/01/2011 18:15

oof - this nesting lark is exhausting!
I now have a pristine cupboard under the stairs, and a serious case of braxton hicks - time to retire to the sofa I think....

toomt hope all going well

unbuffy good to hear from you - am dreading the c-section recovery so excellent to hear you feeling so positive!

magic I want to see a piccie of the two cribs - sooo cute!

CaribouMoo · 17/01/2011 19:28

Wow, I've had no internet connection for a few days and look what I've missed! Well done WYG & RHG on your gorgeous girls - what beautiful names you have chosen too.

All the best TMT - looking forward to hearing some more good news soon! x

Gi1da · 18/01/2011 00:01

Sending happy thoughts to Toomt wishing you a safe and simple time xxx

Magic Omg double cribs! How cute!

A well done to Clarea for nesting, mine is unravelling a bit now, amazing how much washing one little person is starting to make already. Thank god there's no sunshine to illuminate all the dust!

Nickster hope you are feeling better post-jab.

Muser Grin Grin at gentle sneeze of a delivery wish I'd seen that on the options menu dammit.

Crochet happy belated birthday and congratulations on the wriggles! So lovely and reassuring.

Big waves to Bunny and Buffy

Oooo gotta go. Booby duty calls. Ren's put on 5oz in his first week so this must be working.

Gi1da · 18/01/2011 00:08

PS Did I read right in my hallucinatory sleep deprived state over the last few days that Our Lady of the Gazebo is here? Bloody utterly fabulously jumpupanddowningly brilliant. If I've got that wrong then apologies but let's take it as a premonition.

Can we have a lurkers roll call for those of us saddled with concentration deficiencies? Smile

CaribouMoo · 18/01/2011 10:25

You did indeed gi1da, hoping she'll join properly soon. Its good to hear that you and Ren are doing so well - the sleep deprivation is horrific though. It doesn't last forever though and you'll get through it. What a clever little by putting on those ounces.

I made my first panicked call to the MW today. Since the weekend I've been getting dull ahces and cramps down below - not across my bump but kind of underneath it. I decided not to commute to work today because I could feel tears coming on at my desk yesterday fretting about what it could be.

Once the MW established there was no bleeding she asked if I had a section before, which I did. She then concluded that its likely to be the scar tissue stretching and getting aggrivated. The little one has still been cutting about but she asked if I had felt any rapid movements from him. Cue the next bout of neurosis! Oh well, at least I almost made it to 23 weeks without having to phone them, that's not bad I guess!
