Happy weekend all.! x

lia66 · 15/01/2011 13:31

Hi everyone.

Fingers very firmly crossed for louise this month, what a great way to start the new year.

WYG well done you, beautiful name for your little one. Hope the feeding sorts itself out soon, what are the issues? Anything I can suggest to help you maybe?

Agree with alba about induction for anyone facing it. I was induced with #'s 2, 3 and 4 and #2 was a 2 hour labour no drugs, #3, (6 years later) was a respectable 7 hr, no complcations and 10lb baby. So it doesn't have to be all horror stories and intervention. ust try and go into it with an open mind and a positive outlook, you can still use alot of your birth preferences for induction and remember you still have choices, every step of the way.

TMT hope it kicks off for you soon, labour vibes coming your way.

lotto I've had OC 3 times so far nd they'll want to monitor you twice a week with scan and blood test, check fluid and prob induce no later than 38 wks. As soon as baby is born, danger is gone. They may prescribe Urso but not sure at this stage for you. They will want to monitor baby closely in labour though as you'll become high risk. Good luck, hope it's not oc but does sound like it I think.

Anyone else, Hi :)

PenguinsMummy · 15/01/2011 14:29

Congratulations WYG. So much lovely news on the thread at the moment Smile

SamanthaB123 · 15/01/2011 15:02

Congratlations WYG, sounds like a fab birth experience. Breastfeeding takes a while to master, you'll get there. Six weeks is a magic window after which you'll wonder what all the fuss was about!

TooMuch You are either really fed up or really busy...hope you are busy birthing your baby!

Fed up... not busy unfortunately. Envy

Congrats WYG, what a lovely lovely name, and don't worry about the queue jump, I don't mind really. Good luck with the BF, I hope it gets settled soon.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, I think I may try the relaxing glass of wine and bath later, definitely sounds nicer than all the other things you're supposed to do (although last night's curry was good!) DH is refusing to S with I, he said the fact that the midwife could touch the baby's head is too creepy. Oh well!

Fingers crossed things happen for you soon RHG.

And thank you for the positive induction stories ladies, exactly what I need at the moment!

Gi1da · 15/01/2011 18:21

Westy how wonderful! Congratulations and what a magical name. So pleased for you on the homebirth too.

Toomt thinking of you and wishing you a straight forward birth whether it comes it's own or has a little nudge. Don't worry. It will be fine, and then it is over and then you win a baybee!! [hug] Whatever happens there are always ok moments, even if it's not what you wanted. I cheered up immensely for the csection, all prepped in front on the screen, DH is led in, I exclaimed 'God you look sexy in scrubs!' and kept giggling at him. And he did, and I hope I never forget the look on his face when they passed him Ren.

My homebirth was never going to happen but the labouring at home was lovely ~ though I suspect my periodic mooing may have distracted somewhat from Mamma Mia. Ren had his head firmly stuck in my pelvis at an odd angle, all a bit Oscar Wilde - head in the lady garden but looking at the stars - so he wasn't coming out on his own, they still had to drag him out of the hedge backwards with forceps at the section!

Good luck to Reds too. Sending happy birthy vibes to you.

Have been over exhausted here after such a long birthy time and very chaotic hosp ward, add this to the hormones and I have been in tears for most of the last two days. Not in a bad way, just overwhelmed at everything, and at how full of love and pride and fierceness I feel.

And my heart has been breaking over and again for Louise and I am wishing Georgie's brother or sister is on the way from the universe very, very soon.

Has taken me a very long one fingered time to type this as little one asleep over my arm but will be back to catch up more soon. Think I will be another member of the night time feeding crew.

Sending health and happiness to all. DH has just asked me to tell you all thank you again for looking after me. He also says tell the girlies to keep their powder dry but you can ignore that! It's a quote from some old movie btw, he's not totally weird!

Now WTF is Jolls with that Brie?

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 15/01/2011 18:27

Congrats WYG on the arrival of your little girl Hester! x

louisesh · 15/01/2011 18:29

Thamks Lia and Ivy for your kind words XXXXX

Hope you're ok?

Gi1da · 15/01/2011 18:31

Ps Toomt and RHG I was practically ordered by one of the midwives to get the wine out after my waters started leaking to help me relax and get things going! She even firmly topped the glass up after DH gingerly poured in a dribble.

Chin chin!!! Wink

AlbaDeTamble · 15/01/2011 19:25

Oh Gilda I'm welling up reading your story. And you are so right, our little bundles of joy make it all worth it whatever happens. Well done you for keeping your humour even in theatre! And for making great memories of your birth despite it not being the ideal plan.

Louise I too have gazed at my little boy and shed tears for Georgie. I can't begin to imagine the pain you've been through. I really hope that you're pregnant again soon with her little sibling.

AlbaDeTamble · 15/01/2011 19:27

Oh, and Toomt I did the relax with glass of wine the evening after sweep on midwife's orders too Grin

BunnyBaby · 15/01/2011 19:39

WYG many congratulations!

appleblossoms · 15/01/2011 19:48

Oooh, another baby! Congratulations WYG! Tis such an exciting time to be on this thread. Smile

toomt I think the glass of wine and a relaxing evening sounds like just what you need... and Gi1da, I want your midwife! Wink

Wishing you the best of luck louise. I've followed your story from afar, and am so looking forward to celebrating with you very VERY soon!

crochet how's things with you lovely? It's really nice having someone at the exact same stage! when's your 20 week scan? mine's the 26th, I'm really excited now....and I think we're going to find out the sex, so not long until I know what we're having! eek!

nix when's your 12 week scan? Can't be long now... ??

Big waves to everyone else, hope you're enjoying your saturdays. Grin

nickstermum · 15/01/2011 19:55

Apples 24th jan.... EEK! Still petrified of MMC, but have to just go with it! Still have loads of symptoms Grin

WYG what a lovely, unusual name. Well done, sounds like you had the birth youw anted xxx Congratulations on her safe arrival xxx Wonderful news !

appleblossoms · 15/01/2011 20:03

Ooh nix I know exactly what you mean. I was terrified for mine, despite having a scan at 9 weeks. I think it goes with the territory. will be thinking of you over the next couple of weeks. x

NewImprovedJollster · 15/01/2011 20:18
Meita · 15/01/2011 21:42

Congratulations WYG! Well done you! :)

Louise, I too do every now and then gaze at my little one and shed tears for you and your Georgie. Hoping that you will have good news soon.
And I wanted to say how very brave I think you are. I remember speaking to a friend whose daughter was stillborn at 37 weeks, soon after she had become pregnant again. She was elated, but also terrified. She had become pregnant by IVF, so she was very happy it had worked out - but until the day her second daughter was born alive and well, she was a nervous wreck. I bow to you and your courage and strength.

lia66 · 16/01/2011 11:47

jolls pass a bit of that there cheese over here would you, (under a napkin or something so noone can see Wink) Little bit of what you fancy and all that and I'm so uncomfortable I think my ribs are moving.

louise echo what meita said about not being able to realx and enjoy, especially as that you went full term, I can only say, use us whenever you need to to get you through the scared days of your next pg, TMI? No such thing on here, Stupid worries? No such thing. We'll look after you. x

Hope everyone else is having good weekend. :)

Redheadgal · 16/01/2011 11:54

Just a quick one as I'm posting from hospital. Had a pretty scary few days in all. Went for my sweep on Wednesday and discovered I was pre-eclamptic (with no earlier signs) so raced to hospital to be induced. Blood pressure continued to rise (as did my ankles and knees) and urine function began to fail. After several hours of trying to labour normally was given an epidural to control BP and a magnesium sulphate drip as well as syntocin to speed up dilation. Unfortunately synoticin didn't work and when they broke my waters found meconium. With urine function still impaired they decided to give me emcs.

Lovely Cecily Anne was delivered at 18.31 on 13th January, weighing 8lbs and 13oz.

To return to the horror story. With BP still high and catheter not working and me losing consciousness intermittently they decided to admit me to the HIgh Dependency Unit lest I had a stroke or complete renal failure! Thankfully a stay there sorted me out and my DH and DD (!) were allowed to visit me in the morning via the back door to avoid swine flu cases, so we got to do some nice bonding. Back down now on labour ward with sexy white stockings and lots of medication, but hoping they'll allow me to go home soon.

Huge congratulations to Gilda and WYG and fingers crossed that stuff is happening with TMT.

Promise to catch up again soon when released! xx

NewImprovedJollster · 16/01/2011 12:00

OMG RHG! Blimey, what a time you've had/are having :( BUT massive congrats on the arrival of Cecily (aww, everyone's choosing such smashing names). Look after yourself x

Meita · 16/01/2011 12:01

OMG RHG!
Huge congratulations, and wow, that must have been so scary! You must have given DH (and yourself) a huge fright... Glad you're lots better already, hope it all continues getting better quickly and you can enjoy your littlie!
Lovely name, too - was on my secret girls shortlist :)

Muser · 16/01/2011 12:40

Oh gosh RHG, that does sound scary but huge congratulations on your little girl. Hope you and she are home soon.

Gi1da · 16/01/2011 12:58

Another cry of OMG for Reds. Blimey how scary for you. So glad to hear that you are in recovery and being looked after. Mahooosive congratulations on welcoming Cecily to the world.

Rest up and enjoy those stockings (I wore mine home, just gorgeous) and I'll join you in the cs shuffle when you're up and about!

Well done you xx
