Wills, so pleased the baby is the right way up. I don't know much about pre-eclampsia but understood it is always a risk if you had it in your first pregnancy. Very much hoping Mears or Leese is around to enlighten you professionally. Let us know how you are doing, and let's all send the vibe equivalent of raspberry leaf tea in the direction of the Peak District this weekend!

OMG Katherine, sorry you've had a bad afternoon, really hope this one shows tonight. Blimey, we can't stand the suspense so heavens knows what it's like for you!

Katherine · 21/08/2003 20:41

I think we may have lift off. Had a proper contraction at 7.30 followed by one at 8.03, 8.15 and 8.25. Pretty painful but not lasting that long. Looks like I'm not following my usual pattern (surprise suprise) so not quite sure what will happen next. Slight lull now but have called the MW. Oh please please let this be it.......

Beccaroll · 21/08/2003 20:48

Really. really hope this is it Katherine!!!

Good luck

bunny2 · 21/08/2003 21:12

Hi Katherine, good luck. I am sure you'll be back here with very good news soon. In the meantime can I take your place? I have just done a + test and cant believe I can now join this thread legitimately.

Wills · 21/08/2003 21:13

Good luck - Go girl go!

Ghosty · 21/08/2003 21:14

Congratulations bunny2!!!

Beccaroll · 21/08/2003 21:50

Congratulations bunny!!

Can I just scream

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Im feeling so stressed i think my waters might pop with the pressure (wishful thinking)

just had huge row with partner and needed to vent!

Katherine · 22/08/2003 00:04

Liberation - see birth announcements!

bunny2 · 22/08/2003 11:32

Ghosty, 24th April, you? I've just been off to see my gp. I am so scared of losing this baby. When ~I had a m/c I had been bleeding on and off since I conceived so I had a good idea things might be wrong. This time I have had no bleeding so I am hoping for a totally normal pregnancy. Doesnt stop me worrying though!

Wills · 22/08/2003 11:45

Do you know - even though I've technically graduated from this thread hope no one will mind if I keep contributing where I can - its become a bit of habit.

Bunny2 - I know that bleeding does not feel like a good sign etc and I really hope that you don't have any bleeding etc however don't assume that bleeding means bad things. I bled off and on all the way to at 16 weeks with dd2 and she's 7 days old today so blood doesn't necessarily mean the worst. It does however stress you out BIG time so fingers crossed.

hewlettsdaughter · 22/08/2003 11:45

Hi all. Bunny2, how was your gp visit? I went yesterday. The doc was sympathetic to me worrying but said to come back at 12 weeks (though obviously sooner if any bleeding or anything). Round here they don't refer for early pregnancy care until you've had 3 miscarriages (think it's the same in lots of places).
For those of you who don't know me, I have recently had 2 early miscarriages but am now 5 weeks pregnant! Am obviously pleased but also trying to be cautious to protect myself in case it all goes wrong again. I am sure you all understand this.

hewlettsdaughter · 22/08/2003 11:48

Wills - how are you and your dd?

Beccaroll · 22/08/2003 11:54

I am 39+6 (Due tomorrow) and I have bled throughout this whole pregnancy starting from 7 weeks!!! Its been a hellish time and in the early days I was always convinced that it meant the worst.

It turned out that I have a hematoma on the back of the placenta but baby has continued to grow and thrive and not be affected at all by this bleeding.

Just wanted to encourage you that not all bleeding means the worse.

Of course I hope you have no bleeding at all!!

Wills I'm going to join u on that one actually. Can I stay too?? I like this thread - everyone know what it is like to have a loss/es. Isn't it great though that now that wills, Katherine and Marina have graduated, bunny and HD have taken their places! The thread survives!!!! I won't be long!! Hope not anyway. I think it's a real shame you don't get a little more support HD esp as you have had 2 m/c's. You could have a private scan if you felt the need. Costs about £70 - £100. Wish you lots of look - you too bunnyxxxxx

hewlettsdaughter · 22/08/2003 12:02

Thanks quackers. How's your hangover?

bunny2 · 22/08/2003 12:14

I have just read through the original messages in January from Wills, Katherine, Marina et al. It makes fantastic reading because I know I am not alone in feeling this awful fear. And how brilliant that there are new babies now born after all the worries, bleeding etc. It gives me so much hope.

HD, what's your due date again?

bunny2 · 22/08/2003 12:14

Beccaroll, good luck tomorrow, keep us posted!

hewlettsdaughter · 22/08/2003 12:16

I think my due date is 22 April or thereabouts. To be honest, I'm not sure I can think that far ahead at the moment!

quackers · 22/08/2003 13:49

Hangover is SO bad - urgh, it's cos I didn't drink for 6 weeks being pg and then I thought - right time for a bender - god I'm paying for it!!

myersthecat · 22/08/2003 14:30

Bunny2, I'm sure everything will be fine. I don't think any of us that have been in the situation believe that until we see it/hear it. I know I was very quiet until I heard the heartbeat at 15 weeks (they don't scan in my area until 16 weeks).
Until then I wouldn't accept it at all. When you hear it/see it, it'll be the most fantastic thing in the world. Never to be forgotten. You wont want the midwife to stop!
I think my heart stopped that day! Very emotive!

bunny2 · 22/08/2003 20:59

Thanks Myers, I am dreading a scan, I found out about my m/c when the scan couldnt pick up a heartbeat. It is going to be a terrifying time which will hopefully bring lots of reassurance.

Quacks, try a hair of the dog.

myersthecat · 23/08/2003 06:57

I was terrified too.

Not sure the woman doing the scanning when I had my m/c realised that it wasn't tactful to say "This babys size isn't consistent with your dates, are you sure they are correct?" To which I just burst into tears and the nurse with me had to explain that I was there with a suspected m/c not as a normal scan!

Fingers crossed for you. Take care.
