A brand spanking new thread where we can chat about the state of our eggs, SWI, our veg patches and any other topic we fancy

Sorry I have had to name change. No need to mention my previous name as I don't want anyone to google it, but I think you'll work it out. I am due a baby in 5-6 weeks.

Love to you all!

oh i have just realised ninja as in ninja turtle It must be fantastic to be so interested in a sport.
Yes I immediately lost all of my baby weight but to be honest I never put much on as I was so so sick with all day sickness. However, i have put on two stone since (blush) So have it to loose. I dont think breaking my foot helped but I do just love eating.

A size 4 carrie? Oh good lord. I've spawned a giant.

I've put a photo on my profile of the new shoes. Disclaimer: whilst he does have big feet the photo has exaggerated them.

Hello Fanny, I thiunk I know who you are

Glad you had a good weekend ninja, I have visions of you doing a body slam with hugely inflated milk filled boobs

Good luck if you choose to go see your GP Hopefully. Just remember that you and your body have been through A LOT in the past 6 months, being poorly through the winter and spring, the mc and moving house.

I think what I'm trying to say is don't automatically assume something is wrong. I know that's easier said than done, but just keep it in mind when you're feeling down and upset by it all.

ILTMIMI I've spawned a midget! Given that DH and I are both 5ft 10 I have no idea how we have a little one so small!

Hi fanny how are you??

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/05/2010 19:42

Maybe a recessive shortarse gene has come about Carrie?

DH and I are both 5ft 10 as well but I think ds will be quite a bit taller. He's about the height of most 2-3 year olds we know. I think it's only his babyish hair and lack of speech that gives his age away.

I am supposed to be searching for sun dials and plinths but it is just so dull ....

My god, am I that obvious?

Meglet · 03/05/2010 21:00

hopefully you mentioned that your cervix was damaged when you had ds and you now have painful periods. It occurred to me that after I had ops on my cervix a few years ago my periods became unbearable and short. In my case it was cervical stenosis tightening the cervix so (in the words of my consultant) my womb was contracting extra hard to push the blood out. He mentioned having it dilated surgically but I was fortunate to get pg with ds, albeit after a few months and I suspect handstands were the deal breaker .

I assume that tearing following childbirth could also scar / tighten the cervix so it might be something to pester the gp about? Sorry if I have panicked you, I'm sure it you are anything like me you will be off to Google it now.

DD's talking is very slowly improving. She just about says 'please' although she pronouces it "Neeee" and does the hand to lip signing for it. I have tried to teach her the "P" sound but when we do it she spends the next few minutes making spitty sounds instead .

CappuccinoCarrie · 04/05/2010 09:22

fanny I think you're the only one due in a few weeks How are you anyway? Wheelchair bound again?

ILTMIMI ROFLMAO at recessive shortarse gene. Aka 'my MIL'. She's the only one below 5ft 10 out of all our parents and siblings, it must be her fault! Interestingly (or not) dd was half of 5ft 10 at 23m so she's likely to prove the theory of being half your adult height at 2. Please please please have a growth spurt before september little ds

meglet and hopefully big ouch on the cervix

Bookmarking.

Toby has size 6H feet and is quite tall and chunky When he is just in his nappy he looks like a sumo wrestler!!!!

Still full of snot and now voice is going...wont dh and dc be relieved?....

Hopefully · 04/05/2010 10:37

Thanks for the idea Meglet - it's nice to have something to suggest to the GP, even if it's not the problem. ILTMIMI thanks for the reassurance - you're completely right, if I add up the months where I haven't been ill or immediately after miscarriage, it's actually only been three or four months of TTC, which isn't so awful. Hopefully now my body's recovered from everything it'll happen again this month.

FannyPriceless · 04/05/2010 10:57

Yes, I'm at the very awkward and painful stage now. Counting the days weeks.

Debs75 · 04/05/2010 12:57

Hopefully Were you stitched after birth? A friend of the family had a serious tear after her 1st and 2nd and she was stitched too tightly. It affected her quite bad, couldn't have sex, bled a lot, cramps and had a strange knack of having AF whenever any other family member did. She was eventually referred and had to be restitched to alleviate her symptoms.
It all worked out ok in the end and she was much comfier down there. It did put her off more kids but she was just relieved not to be in pain.

Fanny how are you feeling? I'm already counting the weeks (18 left).
How is DD taking it? Robyn has no idea about the baby and is constantly climbing all over me and standing on my belly.
DS has noticed as he is belly hugging me more and looking in my belly button.

Debs75 · 04/05/2010 12:57

Oh and Ninja which turtle are you?

lollipopmother · 04/05/2010 14:11

I don't think Elizabeth has reached 24lbs yet but she seems relatively tall or at least, certainly not short. I had her feet measured at the weekend and she's a size 4, she's been walking since before her first birthday so I keep expecting her feet to be bigger but they never seem to grow (not complaining of course!)

I can't remember who on this thread bought a Funpod but I have one too now, it's just been delivered so I'm going to have to build it at some point, I got the highchair in the end as I need another one anyway (as I'm a childminder) so there didn't seem much point in buying two seperate things and having the issue of where to store it.

I have just looked after a new mindee today for the first time, she's just turned 7 months, didn't cry once in 4 hours, ate a massive lunch, slept fine - can you believe that?! I've heard of easy babies but that is just amazing, I hope it continues!!

CappuccinoCarrie · 04/05/2010 15:15

I've just looked up ninja on wikipedia (coz its about being more than just a turtle dontcha know!). My favourite bit is "The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination." Brilliant . We are well armoured against attack on this thread!

Hopefully · 04/05/2010 19:23

Debs I was stitched extensively - I had a 3rd degree tear and a cervical tear (and a massive haemorrage, just to top it all off) which all required surgery before I was allowed near DS . I thought for a while that it was too tight or I had scar tissue, but it literally doesn't cause me any pain at all now, so apart from the painful periods I'm relatively optimistic that it's all OK-ish.

Ooh, I like the look of the funpods. I think we're going to get a learning tower (much the same, except they can climb in and out on their own) for DS, as he loves being in the kitchen with me (that is, I love being in the kitchen, he just wants to be where I am), and I think he'd like to be more involved with food preparation.

Carrie I just read that as "espionage, sabotage, flirtation, and assassination". I was wondering why a ninja needed flirtation skills

Hopefully · 04/05/2010 19:24

Oh, and T has (I think) 5H feet. Fairly huge, particularly considering he's still in cruising shoes. He can walk now holding onto just one hand (although he prefers to hold two). I think I must have the latest walking baby on this thread!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/05/2010 20:36

Hurrah for T walking

Blimey Hopefully I forgot to you had such a hard time at T's birth. I've never even heard of a cervial tear. I don't mean to be previous, but I remember you mentioning that you would like an elcs for any future babies and I noticed there was a support thread going at the moment for people opting for elcs. Thought I would mention it for the (not to distant) future.

My peas and beans seeds are going great guns

6.5G here with old bigfoot (DS)

DS had a day with his grandpa and little uncles yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed himself to all accounts. Unfortunately he was given undiluted 'tropical' juice and the poor thing did a poo in traffic on the way home which gave him a very very sore bum. But once that was dealt with he slept so well.

My dad reckons he'll be taking him for the day at weekends a lot more from now on. My first thought was 'what about meeee? Now I'm working the weekends are MY time with him' - but also realised that it would give me and DH some much needed alone time. I doubt it would be every weekend anyway.

DH has gone for (hopefully) the last run back to my mum's to fix the shed and get the last of the boxes. Then by tomorrow night she is officially moved in. Am soooo looking forward to not having to stress about it all. (Am sure other stresses will replace it. Mainly about her appalling taste in trash tv)

D&S hope DD is ok now.

fanny ooo good luck making it through the next few weeks.

carrie has the pox gone now?

Meglet · 04/05/2010 23:11

DD is a size 5F, she got new shoes today. I don't like the choice in girls Clarks shoes much, the lady brought us out a white pair . What kind of unhinged shoe-designer thinks white footwear is a good idea for a pre-schooler . We went for a non-sparkly pink shoe in the end.

dg Keep us posted with your mums tv watching .

litmimi my peas are growing but my pumpkins have nearly all withered. Not sure whats gone wrong with them TBH but I think I can get more planted and growing quickly as a back up crop. And the slugs are attacking the runner beans so I need to do some beer traps this week.

lollipopmother · 05/05/2010 07:24

Guess what?! Elizabeth did her first wee in the potty last night!! I took her nappy off before I ran her bath and said 'if you need a wee wee you need to do it in your potty' and she just walked off so I assumed she hadn't understood/heard, but a couple of minutes later she came in, sat on the potty and very loudly proclaimed 'wee wee!', then when I looked there was a massive puddle in there! I have no idea what to do now though, do I keep doing this before bathtime for a while or do I whip her out of nappies now??

lollipopmother · 05/05/2010 07:26

Oh, and she's finally started talking proper words, in the last 2 weeks it's like a dam has been broken and the floodgates are open, she's saying all sorts of things, some of which are completely correct (strawberries for instance) and others are just the start of the word (bin, book etc are bi, bo) she's also saying 'What is this' 'what is that', but no further sentences yet.
