Hello

DP and I just watched District 9...a strange but effective mix of anxiety-inducing political thriller, cheesy cop buddy movie and rip-roaring splatter sci fi. Recommended!

Now I think we shall go to bed. Night all, see you anon

Morning

Another beautiful day - that makes at least 4 in a row doesn't it?!

ts fantastic news

miamla what a beautiful place for a honeymoon, glad you made it despite the best attempts from your family... the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves and have been asking when the next one is.

Hoping to meet loti on Tuesday yay! Think the boys may be slightly overawed by the number of girls that have gone with them though

sazz lovely to hear you had such a good time with the dixies.

I am off work Tues - Fri next week and have three aims.

  1. Exercise every day
  2. Teach DS1 to tie shoe laces
  3. Plant (or at least dig over) the area that will be a grown up flower bed. Given up on the veg patch as just don't have enough time, so flowers it will have to be (or concrete )

Have a lovely day everyone

alittlebitshy · 11/04/2010 09:32

The sun is blaxing here today too. Another afternoon on the beach I think.

We don't seem to have anyone being sick today either which is a bonus.

Glad you are all enjoying your selves sazz and dizz. O has taken to smacking the TV with no one else around to duff up

TS great news for your cousin Congrats to them

Cyteen are you wearing said acid/sack/dress? We need photographic evidence!

Albs hearty congrats on the weight loss, well done you!

LWFH hope you got the marking done?

oops Ps language continues to amaze and impress me . O is sticking with 'dat' and 'mummy', but has just this weekend added 'up' and 'ta' . Funny little things eh?!

I'm bored and tired (despite a little lie in til 9am). I want to go running but am tethered by kids/lack of running equipment/time.

RedLentil · 11/04/2010 13:17

DD2 took a tumble down the stairs this morning, trying to pull a doll's chair after her. Only a kiss from ds could cure her. Her favourite words at the moment are 'eight, nine' and 'pink, blue'.

She is driving me demented by shouting 'come on' and then pulling and pushing me until I go wherever she wants to go. This morning she was out in the garden wearing a mac and wellies. .

When she wakes up we'll head off to the 'big bath' (sea) where I will lie down with a book and ignore the 'three children, two spades' kerfuffle.

My informer network has had a boost now that dd2 can report on snatching.

TwilightSurfer · 11/04/2010 13:39

calm seas on our lovely thread this morning. nice to see everyone up and enjoying the weather.

reese only woke once during the night so i almost feel human again. dh did take both the girls out of our room to allow me to "sleep in" but i was already awake. i remained for a few minutes so he could get breakfast for them.

off to the shower (by way of facebook).

Sazz having met E, I don't fear for her wellbeing too much. She has a fearless look in her eye , much like her older sister - I still chuckle at L constantly referring to my DS as 'that boy' in Lady Bracknellesque tones.

Weather is shite here, overcast and chilly So a great day for allotmenting, which is what DS and I will be doing once he awakes from his slumber. DP is staying behind to clean the floors. It's just nonstop glamour round ours

RedLentil · 11/04/2010 14:14

at 'that boy.'

DD2 has been woken by DD1's ceaseless chatter and has put her wellies on for the beach.

GreenGardenia · 11/04/2010 16:24

Sounds fab dizzy.

at that boy. oops was saying the other day that minioops can tell who is a boy / who is a girl. ds2 does say boy / girl but just as words - same as he can say one, two, four, six, in a sort of rhythmic chant, but isn't actually enumerating (was it here or in RL I had that chat???) He's better today with his antibio and his Calpol, had a quick bounce on a low trampoline in the garden, and wandering around digging with a very long stick. I love to see him pottering in the spring sunshine, roll on summer days in the garden. How's the allotmenteering going cyteen - are you still preparing ground or are you planting yet? Or am I way behind... I have only got rocket and sorrel in, not got big plans this year, but there is rhubarb and there are goosegogs and we have a lovely apple tree that gives & gives. I might do beans of some sort, they are dead easy.

OK am gardening bore and have not even got green fingers.

Anyone else not cut their child's hair yet? Am I the only one still with straggling strands plastered down to the snotty nose-tip?

GladioliBuckets · 11/04/2010 16:38

Boo.

TwilightSurfer · 11/04/2010 18:12

snipped a few strands out of reese's eyes two weeks ago. all i can say is my hairdresser laughed a little at the "style" when she saw her last week.

OP posts:
oopsandbabycoconut · 11/04/2010 18:19

I haven't had to cut DD's yet - I just tie it back a little or it forms a curl mohican and it gets VERY unruly, it also needs some directional training or will just fall straight forward into her eyes. I have mornings where brushing it is such a screaming fit chore I want to shave it all off!

DH is packing up and getting ready to fly home tomorrow I cannot wait!

alittlebitshy · 11/04/2010 18:32

Ds has had two hair dresser trims now. firstly I trimmed his little "wings" at the back sides, then my mum's hairdresser tidied him up. Next i tried to do a fringe trim but it went wrong (you know when you just keep snipping to even it up......). then last week i took him into where i go and she styled it a little. it is still floppy and deffo not short (I like floppy hair on little boys - he will NEVER be given a shaved head type do by my choice). It isn't perfect cos he was resistant. she told me to come back and sort it out if i need to, but, hey, i think that stress can wait until he needs a fringe trim next!!

oops is he coming home a little earlier than planned or am i counting wrong ? . yay for him coming home for good though

oopsandbabycoconut · 11/04/2010 18:35

ALBS - he is coming home a little earlier than the rest of them - he has had enough and apparently 'needs to be at the office' by lunch tomorrow as he has some client calls I have his diary and it's empty! but who am I to complain
