have just registered for tickets for London 2012 - pays to be optimistic and DH will probably be working due to his specialism so why not

Miamla · 24/03/2010 09:24

morning all

exciting news from miamla household... i think i felt Pea having hiccups this morning Haven't really felt any kicks yet but it makes sense that hiccups were first if he/she is anything like DS. I'm really looking forward to next scan and hope we can find out if Pea's pink or blue. I've got the idea completely stuck in my head that Pea's a she and need to get used to the idea if he isn't! Don't get me wrong, a little boy would be just as lovely as a little girl but just need to get used to the idea!

no1 wow, what an awful lot you're going through at the moment. I can only echo what everyone else has said... you are a wonderful mother and well done for making the move that is best for your children and for you. Please remember that we're here for you and will listen/help as much as we can. Would DCs like a little pressie in post? FB me your address and I'll sort something out for them both x

hairy truckers oh my my!!!!! i started writing this post about 2 hrs ago and in the meantime i've checked my emails and oh my my!!!! thank you so much!!!!!! I really wasn't expecting anything and what a wonderful surprise!!!!!!!!!! thank you!

Miamla · 24/03/2010 09:27

dizz yay dizz!!! i'll get to meet you in 2012 (if we don't manage it before then obviously!)

spring has sil been checked out my doc? last thing she needs is whiplash. hope she recovers (physically and mentally) really quickly

oopsandbabycoconut · 24/03/2010 09:47

I take all your 5.45,6, and 6.50am's and trump you a 4.22!! Eventually at 5.45 DH left hte room to sleep next door as he has a big meeting in Reading and needs his sleep!

Miamla - it's great to feel them move, very ressuring when you are a panic master like I am. When is your scan? Mid April ish? Pleased you like your wee pressie 10 days to go - are you excited yet?

Sinapore - hope your sis isn't too sore.

going to catch up and have a cuppa!

Hi Dizz

poppysocks · 24/03/2010 12:54

Well I'll take all your early mornings and raise you chickenpox [unsympathetic]. DD1's appeared on Monday and we're now praying (in the nicest possible way) that DD2 gets some in the next 24 hrs as 1. she's being a moany, whiney, mildly feverish pain at the moment and that would explain it 2. it'd help enormously from the time off work perspective if they could get it out of the way simultaneously and 3. they should both then be clear for us to fly south for DD2's godmother's wedding next weekend. I suspect this won't be the case, they were infected separately and DD2 will therefore only have picked it up from DD1 when she was infectious at the weekend. Thereby ensuring that she's spotty before we leave and have to cancel or while we're there and we get stranded until she's better. On the other hand, if we cancel everything, she won't get it at all this time.

Good luck with the chat LOTI.

Intrigued by your HR chat Sazzles - or do you have a decent idea what the head honcho's going to say? Good luck! New boss at my place is doing his 'big reveal' of his plans for the future tomorrow afternoon. Pretty hopeful I'm included in it, but suspect a fair bit of change round about me could cause a fair bit of adjustment. Thankfully DH's work giving him tomorrow off to be with DD1 so that I can be there as missing it would NOT be seen well.

Your poor SiL spring. Hopefully the upcoming excitement will take her mind off what must have been a pretty nasty experience. So pleased no-one was hurt.

Hello to everyone else

GreenGardenia · 24/03/2010 13:04

Oh poppy that is dire. Hope you get the timing you're praying for - though I see your reasoning against its likelihood - waaaah what a pain in the arse.

Miamla hope your pressie is useful xxx GREAT news about the activity from within! I adored every single kick and movement of ds, even when it was uncomfortable etc, it is without a doubt the nicest part of being pregnant. Enjoy .

loti ducks good luck tonight.

hotster you were saying about turning 40 etc. It's weird but I have had a feeling about you, as if you are going to do something to surprise everyone, or something like that, I can't put my finger on it but I have some sense of emergence or something about you.

Don't laugh at my geography but does anyone live near Barton Upon Humber in Lincolnshire? There's an exhibition there I would like someone to go and see for me!

luckoftheirish · 24/03/2010 14:48

oh poppy what lousy timing as always.. well dd2 has just spectacularly puked everywhere [sigh].. not sure why has had a bad cold for over week now so just hoping it was the mucus build up ...

just could deal with a tummy bug right now.. dd1 cough is getting progressively worse too.. ye gods so sick of poorly children!!

glad you liked your gift miamla xxx

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 24/03/2010 14:58

GG Barton on Humber is pretty near Hull in fact, but not too far for my parents in Lincoln. What is the exhibition? [nosy] when is it on?

GreenGardenia · 24/03/2010 15:40

Tis this woman, a textile artist, I saw her work at some multi-exhibition here, was all delicate textiley things all hanging on a fold or a stitch and sort of visual illusion stuff, I thought it was vv pretty. I don't know what's going on with this particular exhibition but it might be nice if your folks are passing by!

loti sorry you are house of illage too.

GladioliBuckets · 24/03/2010 16:38

No1 if you're lurking. Was in the library today and they had a few books for kids about parents splitting up and moving house etc. Might be an idea for yours to help them through it, plus library is a good free place to while away an hour.

Miamla I know exactly how you feel re pink or blue, was convinced DS1 was a girl. Just as well he wasn't because I had my heart set on calling her Honey and DH would not have it. (I figured since DD answered to the name of 'Baby' anyway, why not cut out the middle man?) In hindsight I think with our surname, the combination would sound a bit like an aged porn star.

Ooh I bought a dress for my Greek wedding! TKMaxx had 4 excellent contenders inc some real showstoppers but I decided to go for a tasteful drapey LBD with a petrol/kingfisher blue knitted shawl cardi for £50 in total. Factoring in orthodox church, hot weather, hand luggage and reusability (looked great over jeans), it made the most sense. Now I have to find shoes and handbag in exactly the right shade. Though actually as the dress is vaguely Grecian looking I could probably get away with gladiator sandals.

GladioliBuckets · 24/03/2010 17:51

This dress but in black and it actually looks better on me than it does that skinny rake model. Amazing but true.

GreenGardenia · 24/03/2010 18:27

Nice drapey dress Glads is the model wearing the wrong size or something? When are you going Greek?

Sounds like a nice afternoon Sazz, I have tried & failed to work , have made a very unpleasant soup, and my back and legs are killing me.

dizzydixies · 24/03/2010 18:58

lovely dress Buckets

fingers crossed for a speedy recovery Poppy

lasagne here for tea with roasted veg and garlic bread as a treat for DD1 doing so well last night, all 3 girls shattered so in bed already - if they're going to continue to get up at fecking 6am then they can go to sodding bed at 6.30pm

tired, rainey, tired and skint so not the best of days all round - aching hip which is now radiating to knee and buttock and have to see the GP for referral to Ortho before they'll refer me for an MRI - we're talking months here

oh and someone just turned up to say have left lights on in the car

oopsandbabycoconut · 24/03/2010 19:36

Lovely dress Buckets.

Dizzy - DD was in bed at 6.45 today she slept 2 hours this afternoon but was still whingy tired so she went up early. Will they refer you to a chiro for your hip/knee/bum pain? I found mine has worked minor miracle.

VG -

oopsandbabycoconut · 24/03/2010 19:38

Poppy - managed to miss your poxieness - hope it all clears up before next week.

oops am considering checking out the terms of my private health ins to see if I can get something that way

sazz ewwwww, poopy bath, fortunately the horrid whopper that D produced was still contained in a nappy however even that was protection enough [bleurgh]

VG hugs but at unpleasant soup!

GreenGardenia · 24/03/2010 19:58

You can have it if it's so funny . I'll have some of your lasagne and some of oops's wine, thank you very much. I'd love a little crap telly but am going to have an episode of In Treatment I think. DP has taken DS1 off to his running club , I hope he enjoys it.

Hope dd1 enjoyed her celebratory feast .

TwilightSurfer · 24/03/2010 20:00

Dizzy that pain description sounds EXACTLY like mine was for a long time. Ortho, Gyn, GP all clueless. Chiropractor fixed me same day she saw me. Can you have an MRI while pregnant? Chiropractor won't need one btw.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 24/03/2010 20:02

MRI allowed whilst pregnant however x-rays not. I might consider a chiropractor, have previously used an osteopath for back problems (big boobs ) but will certainly consider it

VG she did thank you, she loves lasagne which is great as it was full of cherry tomatoes/carrots and mushrooms all without her knowledge
