Morning Ladies. Poor DD1 dizzy. Aladdin sounds like a wonderful comfort though.

It sounds as though DD1's problem might be nursery LOTI? Any chance you could speak to her key worker on Monday to see what's been going on there?

I'm on the early shift here but not bad as girls are v. good at entertaining one another for a good while. DD1's exceptionally bossy 'sit down on your bottom (on what else might she sit? ) while I read to you' was a little distracting to continued zzzs but v sweet (and a little disturbing in its vociferousness).

miamla - We didn't get a double buggy and didn't once need it. However 1. our gap is a bit bigger than yours will be (2.5 yrs) 2. DD2 was a small baby so was fine in the sling even for longish walks until well over 6 months (when DD1 was 3 and capable of walking properly) 3. I tended to go for decent walks while DD1 was at nursery so I never had to battle for any great distance and rarely near a main road etc.

Right, off to wake up DH and get the girls (and me!) dressed for Ikea trip. See you on the other side.... Have a good day!

GladioliBuckets · 21/03/2010 09:01

With only a year apart yeah you def need a double buggy - Kurt wasn't even walking at 1. Dizzy and Miamla you'll do fine with slings and/or buggyboards. That's why I loved my McLaren Techno because it switches between kids in a second (depending on toddler's mood). I know it doesn't lie totally flat but the baby was in the wrapsling most of the first few months anyway. Plus I had my ringsling in the car for quick pop-ins so no need to heave a double buggy out for every little thing. Oh how I hate hate hate them, horrid life-restricting things!

alittlebitshy · 21/03/2010 09:06

well i take my eye off the ball for a minute and dizzy foes at gets preggers! I am so so so happy for you!!! .

cyteen · 21/03/2010 09:35

to no1 Good to see you here! xx

DS did a poo in the bath last night for only the second time ever Luckily it was DP's turn on bath and bed duty

GreenGardenia · 21/03/2010 09:36

Good morning everyone.

TS you are being slightly alarming there with the memory-like-a-steel-trap-for-personal-statistics thing but you could be useful to me when I forget whether I have had a period / been to the supermarket / already brushed my teeth .

No1 great to see you again, I hope everything's ok for you and you have clarity or resolve. Anything we can do, you must tell us. Anything I can do, email me. Hope the dc are in good form.

hots I think that kind of salvage operation is really important, I know you say you are meant to be decluttering but maybe you can keep the stuff somewhere and decide later about what to keep for ever and ever amen? So many missed opportunities for this in my past which I regret deeply.

dizzy ducks hope dd1 has recovered from sickness and Aladdin is over! Just lately I find I cannot watch another animated film without wanting to gouge my eyes out (or seize naptime), perhaps it's having had eleven years of them... We did see Alice on Friday night, but that's different, I took ds1, just the two of us, as his reward for St Patrick's Day sainthood, I more or less enjoyed it.

Oh dear that was dull.

Glads sounds like a great night!

Poppy enjoy (I used the word loosely) Ikea! Perhaps you could pick me up some cheerful child bed linen and drop it round to me this afternoon, many thanks!

GreenGardenia · 21/03/2010 09:37

cyteen yikes. It's one of my most vivid childhood memories, me in the bath with my sister and brother, and that happening - to this DAY we cannot agree on who was responsible.

dizzydixies · 21/03/2010 09:39

I sold my closer carrier on eBay too

DD1 up & I dozed so am off to see if she's eaten anything yet, no more sickness as far as Im aware.

Miamla how are T's spots?

LOTI glad to hear recovery as swift at yours as at ours!

Poppy, hope you had a good night, enjoy ikea.

Steaky - hope craft fair goes really well for you

thanks ALBS

cyteen · 21/03/2010 09:41

Haha Greeny, me too! Although am in no doubt it was me wot dun it

So bored of waiting for my period to arrive...feeling sick, bloated and foul-tempered has a shelf life y'know.

GreenGardenia · 21/03/2010 09:47

dizzy your girls are farmgoers - when you are in Belfast they might enjoy this. Meant to be really lovely.

oopsandbabycoconut · 21/03/2010 09:52

Morning all

You don't all want to know I have only just got out of bed

DH gone to get coffee and papers, DD running around with a lampshade on her head 'dressing up'

Miamla - No double here we are going to sling it unless this moster in my belly refuses to turn around - she stuck we head so far out earlier I could see it lying down

Dizzy - will have a ferret around and you can have my closer I never really got on with it.

No1 - Hi

Morning everyone else - will now go and catch up with you all.

luckoftheirish · 21/03/2010 10:14

oooh cyteen is it time to do a test?! ..

oops very of your lie in.. dh got out of bed at 9 and only now in the shower ..

hoping dd1 has eaten and its stayed down dizzy and glad you got to snooze..

enjoy ikea poppy..

watcha greeny

cyteen · 21/03/2010 10:17

Well, I've done 3 already and all negative, so probably not. I'm sure it will turn up shortly and make me feel shit in a whole new way moan whinge moan

RedLentil · 21/03/2010 10:23

DD2's first big planned sentence: 'Mommy, don't do that.'

RedLentil · 21/03/2010 10:26

Oops, swimming definitely made dd2 turn, the weirdest single sensation of my life.

Cyteen - the uncertainty is a bit pants. Hope you get an answer soon.

Loti - talk about it with him one evening. You won't get to feel stronger if things go on like this.

GladioliBuckets · 21/03/2010 11:29

DH has informed me that it is next week the clocks change, hence my dizziness earlier.

oopsandbabycoconut · 21/03/2010 11:38

It seems today I am just an inconvenience in the love affair that is going on between DD and her Papa. DD can I get you a drink - no Papa, DD do you want a snack - Papa do it, Can I have a snuggle - Do for mine Papa. I may as well go back to bed

Red - I am going to try and swim this evening, I know I have ages yet but I would rather she got head down sooner rather than later.

lwfhthebagpipeplayer · 21/03/2010 12:02

dizzy congratulations, lovely news.

re: double

we have a phil and teds. It fits in the lift (only a couple of them did, as the lift has a small door) and I use it when out and about on my own with two of them.

I think that a double is really important if your toddler is going to want to be carried ever or even just cuddled as it is helpful to have somewhere safe to put the baby down.

I did sling DD anyway quite a bit at the start, but she is much happier in the buggy now I have switched it over to the two seat mode, not seat and carry cot

TwilightSurfer · 21/03/2010 12:14

thanks for all the buggy testimonials. my aunt just wants something at her house for the two grandbabies. not sure she's ever worn one in a sling.

cyteen i feel your pain.

spring you're next up on the "are you or aren't you" list.

dizzy so you say you don't have a close carrier anymore and it sounds like you'd really like to have another when the time comes. is this statement correct? if so, it sounds to me like some SHOPPING is in order. babies are so much fun!!!

btw i told dh about the stats last night and the 3 child home that about to become a 4 child home. he was a little shocked at how much information we share with each other. he was like, "do these guys KNOW these girls are trying to get pregnant?"

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 21/03/2010 13:44

TS you can inform MrSurfer that not only did the guy not know but the gal didn't know either

cyteen hope you have an answer either way

greeny thank you, we've been before - unfortunately its a touch too far away from PIL for a visit this time as intend on only staying at theirs long enough to get the washing done

oopsandbabycoconut · 21/03/2010 14:17

DD has been captured by my parents who happened to be passing (They live 2 hours away) and taken out for the afternoon - me thinks they may have been bored and missing her.

So home alone with DH and he is hoping to get lucky - not likey!

oopsandbabycoconut · 21/03/2010 14:17

likey but likely!

dizzydixies · 21/03/2010 14:22

do you think they might pop round and borrow my 3?! D has had her nap and is now grumpy and dd2 is overtired and emotional all whilst DH about to feck off to work

cyteen · 21/03/2010 15:12

Just in case no1 doesn't manage to get back on for a while, she asked me to let you all know that she has left her H and is staying with family at the moment (hence lack of internet connection). Things haven't been easy by the sound of it but she and the kids are okay.

no1 hope it is still okay that I've let people know x

dizzydixies · 21/03/2010 15:17

thank you cyteen, I have been thinking of her often recently and wondered

No1 - you know where we are whatever you need darling whenever you need it

alittlebitshy · 21/03/2010 15:51

DIZZY oops caps lock. my close carrier has JUST gone to my sil who is going to ebay it for me. do you want me to get it back and send it to you? is Olive green.
