Gardenia my DS has been extra tired lately, having mammoth sleeps and yawning his head off by 10am. I wondered whether it's a corollary to the developmental spurt he seems to be having - lots of new understanding of things etc.

cyteen · 09/04/2010 12:50

Let's have some banging 60s party music to liven up Friday afternoon.

TwilightSurfer · 09/04/2010 13:32

Oops (((hug)))

Miamla welcome back.

VG true.

Last night was the first night all week that Reese didn't wake with a fever. We were still up with the snotty coughing crap though. She's totally full of snot today. YUK!

Miamla · 09/04/2010 13:45

thanks TS

in case some of you don't venture out of our little room here, i've got a wedding thread going on here

what i haven't mentioned so far is that the morning after the wedding, my bro ending up being called an ambulance, wheelchaired out of hotel and being blue lighted to A&E. We thought he was having a heartattack so that was fun (he's absolutely fine now and just whinging lots) At one point we thought our honeymoon was cancelled especially after 'd'sis buggered off back to london on train to leave me,dh and ds to deal with bro and distraught mum

cyteen · 09/04/2010 13:55

Miamla were you swapped at birth into a family of changelings? How are they all so lame and you so normal?

GreenGardenia · 09/04/2010 14:43

Oh Miamla!!! OMG is all I can say.

People are bonkers . You have a good sense of humour and are a nice person, which is more than I can say about myself .

What was wrong with your bro?

GreenGardenia · 09/04/2010 16:04

Well just back from the doctor with ds2 and he has a chest infection. Must say I didn't spot that at all, no cough etc just floppy, hot and sleepy all the time. So antibiotic and the farking eternal Calpol.

Miamla · 09/04/2010 16:29

oh no, poor DS2. hope he recovers quickly

mum was weird during whole wedding. barely spoke to me, didn't comment about what i looked like (standard thing to do at weddings i thought ie see bride, congratulate her on looking beautiful). She actually arrived at venue after I did, still not sure why she was late. Has complained to me that she didn't get any wedding cake (i stood in front of her with a tray of it but she blanked me so i walked off!) and hardly saw DS (could have done with her help tbh!)

but anyhow, all of that aside (even DH's aunt smuggling alcohol in disguised as a wedding present) hasn't put a dampner on it... was truly a lovely day

oh and in case anyone's wondering, the 'd'bro that wanted compensation for loss of earnings hasn't even sent a text message to congratulate me

as for bro who did attend, they didn't find out what was wrong, all tests came back clear. needless to say he's blaming him being ill on the food at our wedding

CaptainCaveman · 09/04/2010 17:02

Woo hoo Sunshine at last , and we've spent the whole day outdoors at Twinlakes. I'm knackered!!

oops so sorry to hear the news about Les . How old was she?

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/04/2010 17:17

Thanks all - CC she was 53 so not too old. Her DH came around here to get away from the noise at thier house, his is thrilled to have all their kids home to support him but just wanted a little piece and quiet DD was very gentle and sat on his lap telling him all about cats and birds.

DD and I have been in the office a fair bit today - none of us really wanted to be home alone today. We then came home to sandpit and make DD's first ever mud pies - my newly prepared veg beds are all slushy and full of mud food for the birds. It was so much fun, DD even managed to strip naked afterwards and not get chilly.

Miamla · 09/04/2010 17:21

oh oops, so sorry to hear about Les, must be so hard for all of you but how nice that her DH can find refuge at yours especially with DD's kindness

alittlebitshy · 09/04/2010 18:56

oops. I am so sorry

miamla at dbro (both the ambulance shenanigans and then blaming it on the food; at your mum )she was very nice to me if that helps lol). And you looked gorgeous!!! your DH and ds looked very handsome too.

Have you read up the thread and seen that we had an ambulance chezoops after your wedding too. not caused by your food though . Same as what happened to H in Nov.

we have been utilising our National Trust cards today and went to Sevenoaks to visit sil (dh's bro is away in Oz for 3 week). had a lovely time at the deer park near hers, then went to a tots praise thing she normally goes to.

better go - dd is on the phone to her friend {tis v funny when they are old enough to make phone calls) and i need to check she is not inviting her to move in with us or anything.

Miamla · 09/04/2010 19:19

good grief oops, sorry, missed that (really am going to try and have a catch up tonight) Poor P. I'll bet it was one awful scare

and yes albs, does help to know that she was nice to you!

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/04/2010 19:31

Miamla - I nearly made comment on your other thread that I too had lost my dinner after your wedding fortunately mine was due to the lack of suspension in the ambulance, driving sideways and wiggly Wiltshire roads rather than bad food. Food was awesome BTW so very very yummy and unlike the normal wedding food stodge.

DD in bed, Chinese on the way as I forgot to buy groceries today (had to cadge some catfood off the neighbour ) DD and I ate out for lunch too - we shared a salad or 2 at Pizza Express. I ordered myself a chicken salad and her a tom/mozzarella and avocado salad and a kiddies side of dough balls. She ate all of hers, all the dough balls dipped in pesto, all my tomato, avocade, green beans, potato and left me with lettuce and chicken and 2 bread strips. She is not a cheap date - I will have to warn all the boys!

Doing lovely internet shopping for new baby presents for firends still nameless new daughter.

Miamla · 09/04/2010 19:42

oh i am so of your DD's appetite and eagerness to try things. DS has lived on fruit, fish fingers and scrambled egg for the past six months, with the occasional slice of bread and butter!

sorry to hear your wedding dinner didn't last! i was ill last night of honeymoon.. whilst dh enjoyed his and my meal, i was busy in the bathroom. still can't quite believe i missed out on most expensive meal i've ever ordered

oooh baby shopping, lovely! what've you found?

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/04/2010 19:51

I am tempted by this I love the cat romper. Where did you stay? We stay here when we go to the IOW but then again I am spoilt.

TwilightSurfer · 09/04/2010 19:53

Very good to P is just like her mommy, running about naked in the garden on a whim.

I do say,Miamla, you and I were separated at birth but given to identical families. On the way to my mother's funeral (5 hour drive North), my brother decided to ride with my father (whom my mother would have forbidden to be in attendance if living). I had her ashes and arrived promptly at the graveside filled with half the town only to learn that my dad had stopped for gas an hour away and my brother had somehow locked them out of the car. This all happened on a Sunday morning. In the South that means NOTHING & NOONE is available in any way, form, or fashion to unlock a blasted car door (because they are all drunk on a floor somewhere at church). Needless to say having a cousin who is a minister and an uncle who's a deacon helps in situations such as this.

ROOF & GUTTER WORK to begin MONDAY!! Project Manager will be arriving any moment to get final measurements and then go get permits.

So sorry to hear about Les, Oops. What an awful shock for everyone.

How are you feeling today Cyteen? I hope the big cry helped a little bit.

It is lovely to have you back Miamla. You looked gorgeous on your big day. The dress was wonderful.

We ave had a nasty bug one after the other all week, and it's my turn today. Too much party food at DS's 7th birthday party hasn't helped I think.

TwilightSurfer · 09/04/2010 20:02

OOPS! That place looks FABULOUS! Makes me want to visit. LOL!

Miamla sorry about that expensive meal.

DD1 is on my last nerve! I love her dearly but she plays up to me, refusing to retain any morsel of information I've given her. Right now she's playing with her kitchen. I asked her to sort her stuffed animals from her dirty laundry. "THAT'S TOO HARD!" WTF!!!! I just might use that remark when comes to for dinner.

OP posts:
Miamla · 09/04/2010 20:05

oops that's where we stayed!! does that mean i was spoilt? DH wouldn't tell me any prices! I suspect I don't want to know!!! They were so lovely to DS. Every morning when we went into the restaurant, he stood in the doorway and shouted out 'hiya' as if to announce his arrival, it was a bit like he was royalty the way they ran round after him!

TS yup, sounds like what my brother would do too!

tanks lentil (i didn't deliberately miss the 'h' out but decided it was ok to leave it out for you!)

arse, think DS is out of his cot already...back in a minute

TwilightSurfer · 09/04/2010 23:34

Pink Floyd has a whole new meaning to me now. I feel absolutely Emotionally Numb. Since last Friday morning at 6:30a, I have been on duty with only a 2 hour break from my kids. During which time Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings were spent more awake than asleep due to sick child. I really and truly feel no emotion what so ever at this very moment and could give a rats ass what anyone else thought.

OP posts:
oopsandbabycoconut · 10/04/2010 08:38

Miamla - It's not the money side spoilt it's the food, lovely staff and their willingness to accommodate DD. They let us eat in the conservatory in the evenings so we could have the fab food and DD could join us, I think it is where she got her very expensive taste in food! Nothing was ever too much trouble. I am working on another trip in the Autumn.

TS - Is DH home yet? I hope he can take the girls for a bit and give you a break.

DD decided to do a poo at midnight so then refused to go back to bed so came and partied in mine! On the upside she slept until 8.

hotterpotter · 10/04/2010 08:55

Morning

TS I hope you are snoring away and will wake up feeling better, and get some help from DH this weekend.

oops and Miamla that hotel looks lovely

Feeling sleepy here, despite spending a lovely afternoon running around outside yesterday DD was still up several times in the night; the first occasion was at 3am . Why won't she just sleeeep

Beautiful again today so going to put washing on and do some gardening in a bit

CaptainCaveman · 10/04/2010 10:24

Morning

Washing on ready for the beautiful sunshine to dry it out

AND O slept all night in his own bed, must be the 2nd time EVER

Hope you all enjoy the beautiful weather in some way this weekend, whatever you might be up to?

TwilightSurfer · 10/04/2010 13:21

What is sleep?
Snotty babies don't sleep.
Trying to piece myself together for pilates.
I'd rather go back to bed.
DH in charge.

On the upside: Cousin went into labor during the night. Waiting to see what the result is!!
