Me too Sazz, your bank is a losertron

dizzydixies · 06/04/2010 11:51

good grief I only went to sort the girls 'summer' clothes and put Dylan down for a nap - who broke it?!!??!

fecking heating broken AGAIN!!!!!!?? [resigned sigh]

Sazz - everything crossed for the work email and bank not being tossers

TwilightSurfer · 06/04/2010 12:32

Sazzles I spoke to mine about O/D not too terribly long ago because I was switching auto-pays around which means "accident waiting to happen". There were so many hoops that I told them I'd pass. I questioned them on the fact that it's marketed as a "nice" safety feature for all. Well this "all" wasn't about to give bone marrow or hang by my toenails from rafters to get it. Thankfully I didn't run into any auto-pay mishaps.

Oops & Captain nice to know your wee ones are on the mend.

Reese is ill now. She had a temporary temp yesterday. So odd, one does of Tylenol and it went away. She's a little croupy sounding this morning. It's beautiful outside HOW ON EARTH CAN SHE BE ILL NOW?

As for my little world drama, I have had to dive into a few necessary household needs this week. Roof is going to cost $14,000US to replace (includes gutters). Pest control service reinstated but thankfully inspection proved no pests on the grounds. YAY! Septic issue may have been a fluke but research on costs and remedies if the fluke isn't a fluke have nearly put me in a padded room. Then while I was cleaning my bathroom floor (vacuuming the tiles because I'm lazy) a whole bunch of tiles came off. Further exploration of the matter proved some not so nice (very nearly rotten) floor boards. This means a complete gut of the floor when THAT remodel happens. Until then I'm going to reattach all the tiles then regrout them and stick head in the sand. Homeownership is such a joy.

ooohhh look, its all better

TwilightSurfer · 06/04/2010 13:27

dizzy did my presence fix the problem.

lucky i totally need to chat with you. i'll try to find time later today or maybe tomorrow. just to let you know, i too get the "well you chose to have kids" thing from dh.

i have another roofer schedule to arrive in 30 minutes to give me a second quote. i doubt they'll be able to offer the quality from the first quote but it pays to check the competition. i've made my smile by finding out i can deduct 10% from the first guys original quote. seems there's a promotion i can use. $1400US off is quite a nice savings.

Sazz do you bank online? You should be able to access and print off the last 6 years' worth of bank statements if so. Can't believe the bank manager hung up on you, what a fuckwit! Wish I was there to see you go Hulk

Everything is in bold...curious.

cyteen · 06/04/2010 14:10

And now it's not Curiouser.

cyteen · 06/04/2010 14:34

Yes, bold again. Perhaps after I post this, it will look normal.

CaptainCaveman · 06/04/2010 16:02

MN seems to be fixed again now

Had a busy day playing with ds1. I'm supposed to be on the pc looking for a cheat code for our Indiana Jones game on the Wii (we're stuck!)

Lol at the twatty bank manager - you must point out to him it was very good of cust services to give his money away to you like that

dizzydixies · 06/04/2010 16:15

how hard is it to get fecking trousers for a 6yr old girl that aren't pale in colour/cropped or skin tight?!?! seriously, I have no desire to dress DD1 in summer clothes when its pissing down, dress her like a slut or have her be uncomfortable whilst we paint on and off her breeks - ffs as you can tell I've relly enjoyed my few hours in the town in the tipping rain with D refusing to stop crying and not a pair of trousers to be had she's got 2 pairsof eans (bought in the sales least year) which fit round the waist (aged 9-10) but are too long in the leg and one pair of joggers sitting on her ankles (Aged 8) and some leggings whichyou could spit peas through the knees of roll on May summer no tights/cropped trousers

other than that still rainging/ DH has managed to drain some water from system which got the heating to work (fingers crossed) and my dad has finally enquired after D's health

dizzydixies · 06/04/2010 16:17

Cece - I had a word with Tech to get the thread sorted - apparently he had been making 'improvements' this morning
we don't have Indie for Wii here so can't help, sorry

TS - we had roof fixed about a year after we moved in and I nearly died at the cost - much sympathies from here, we had no choice however as I'm sure you'll have realised we don't have a similar climate!!!

Sazz - roar roar roar, well done you [proud emoticon]

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/04/2010 17:26

Afternoon all

All much better here for a little outing for coffee and new shoes for some. DD desperate for some softer shoes as her boots were a bit clumpy. We tried clarkes and were offered presicely 2 pairs of shoes in DD's size both vomit inducing pink with velcro both what I asked to aviod. The woman told me DD was a girl so pink was okay - I replied I had never noticed the instruction at required vomit pink shoes for all! Tried startrite and found a nice pair of boys doodles but was at the price and said I would think about it. Mum then went to buy her shoes at brantano and DDD fell in love with a pair of Peppa Pig doodle things and my little sis who worked for Clarks fitted them perfectly and they cost 1/3 of the price of the others. I don't care if they only last 3 weeks!

Sazz - good work with the bank manager - are you sure he didn't hang up because you made him cry??

Dizzy - I know they are expensive but have you tried little Joules? or do you need her to try them on first?

GladioliBuckets · 06/04/2010 17:40

Did everyone go shoehopping today then? I managed to get all 3 measured in the old fashioned independent shoeshop and fully intended to buy a pair but had left my wallet at home! Have since looked online to find what I want but no luck. DD grown but affordable-shaped feet so will get something cheaper. Both DSs not grown at all but both have stupid feet so will have to wait a month or so for summer sandals.

dizzydixies · 06/04/2010 17:50

oops joules is only an option in the sales

no shoe shopping for us

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/04/2010 17:53

Dizzy - for me too. Our local farmers co-op place currently has a sale on so DD has a couple of pairs plus a few t-shirts for the price of a normal t-shirt and trouser set for when she eventually grows.

dizzydixies · 06/04/2010 18:06

good idea Oops, I've done that before when the shoe shop that stocks bits and pieces has a sale on but I just don't feel it's worth the full price

cyteen · 06/04/2010 19:52

No shoeshopping here, but I did take delivery of these in green, which I am well pleased about Already own a red pair and love them. It is justified cos they are for the wedding innit

Spent the afternoon at my friend's, where DS discovered the joy of Ring O Roses. It was hysterical, they all loved it so much, even when DS fell down onto another LO's wellie and bashed his face up bless him.
