Hello everyone I'm back

Sorry to hear of the poorly toddlers and rubbish DHs

We have had the most fantastic time chez Sazz, she and her charming DH made us feel most welcome in their lovely home despite my DD keeping her DD awake half one night, and DS nearly braining E with the fireguard . Egg-rolling was very good fun and I recommend you all to blag an invitation next Easter and give it a go! We missed Dizzy very much but were delighted to see VG, her lovely DP and DS for the egging

As others have said the wedding was lovely, Miamla's dress was amazing and her tiara was very twinkly Hope they are all having a lovely honeymoon now.

Drove 428 miles this weekend

Anyone up for another meet???

poppysocks · 05/04/2010 13:44

Goodness loti I would be well past the end of my tether on so little sleep/me-time. Next time H pulls the 'that's what being a Mum is about' ask him what he sees 'being a Dad is all about'... It could be illuminating and I don't just mean that fascetiously(sp?) - it may well reveal some fears/hang ups of his own and spelling out the differences between your ideas of these roles might help to work out a way forward?

Great news that the miamla wedding went well and so many fellow Aug08ers made it there. Horrendously of course but far more about it. Have forgotten my FB password so am yet to see photos but can just imagine the gorgeousness of it all.

What a scare oops. So pleased P is on the mend now and that you had albs with you and your parents and DH could get to you quickly. I can't imagine how scary that must have been but pleased to hear that they didn't make you sleep on a camp-bed in your condition. Glad DD2 didn't make an early appearance too! Grrr once more to ryanair.

How is DS2 now CC? Hope he's on the mend too? And DD3 dizzy?

Having made it down here fine, just before the wedding DD2's chickenpox arrived . So... poor DH missed the day with her and I'm now stranded here her while DH and DD1 have gone back this morning. DD1 and I had a great time at the wedding, great to catch up with lots of relatives and old friends etc and DD1 well and truly overcame her fear of dogs, spending the entire day with an older cousin and his black lab. Only slight eek of the day was the bride's father proposing a toast to the bride and her first husband . Thankfully everyone laughed, including the new groom and his family but it couldn't have been more of a cliched ouch moment if it tried.

hotterpotter · 05/04/2010 13:46

Loti I second everything Sazz said

ataraxis · 05/04/2010 14:45

All is quiet in the ataraxis household. DH has taken the boys to stock car racing, DD is asleep and I am having just a small glass of beer in celebration of complete me time

LOTI, sorry to hear you are having such a hard time . It is NOT OK what your dh is doing/saying it shouldn't be all on you, as sazz says, what about being a dad and a husband too?
But... are you off to Watchet Somerset, or Watchett somewhere else? if the former, it is 15 mins (literally) from where we live, and is where dd goes to nursery and it would be great to say hi if it is

Oops sorry you had a bad night, hope poor little P is feeling a bit better and you both get a chance for a decent nap today.

poppy sorry to hear about dd2, hope she isn't feeling too bad

Hey hots great driving skills

NOW... I was thinking... it was lovely to see everyone on Saturday, but no where near long enough. I know it has been floated before, but what say you guys to getting a big cottage somewhere for a weekend so that we can have a proper meet up, perhaps even with some wine and stuff (and lots of lovely non alcoholic delights for those with expanding families)?

I am in seize the day mode at the moment

luckoftheirish · 05/04/2010 16:58

thanks as always for your kind words ladies and allowing me to rant.. always feel better when i put it in words what i am trying to say iykwim...

gonna bury my head in the sand til h goes to vegas then will do some serious thinking..

Ataraxis.. watchett Somerset

GladioliBuckets · 05/04/2010 18:46

Loti He's just not getting this teamwork thing is he? Before he goes get him to confirm his activities on the calendar for the week he returns. Then book yourself some time out of the house for the evenings/following weekend. And some time together too, natch.

Ataraxis's Plan With or without kids? an entire youth hostel is probably the cheapest and most flexible option with family rooms and dorms. They have some stunning properties too. Anyone fancy Autumn half term?

GladioliBuckets · 05/04/2010 20:02

Shropshire Iron Bridge YHA is big enough for us all to bring kids for a weekend. No DHs yeah? Then we could bask in the glow of graciously having given them a weekend's peace and quiet (or not if some DCs are left behind.)

dizzydixies · 05/04/2010 20:07

there's none in Scotland

GladioliBuckets · 05/04/2010 20:33

Why surely you must be pally with a neighbouring laird who's looking for housesitters at halfterm? (Ooh great chicklit plot)

dizzydixies · 05/04/2010 20:40

oh and on that note I finished the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society today, a nice change from my usual drivel choices

we could always chuck my cousin out of the farm and pile in there, I'm sure No1 would help with the horses

CaptainCaveman · 05/04/2010 21:17

Sounds like the beginnings of a plan . I'll do anything bar camping

O much better today. Still no apetite but it is nice to hear him giggle again

Hope the thread baby girls are doing ok too? D and P?

CaptainCaveman · 05/04/2010 21:21

LOTI at your dh

My friends ex-p refused to pay her any maintenance for the kids "because that is what child allowance is for" Some chaps really don't seem to see beyond their own noses? I agree with Poppy in asking him what being a dad is all about!? (((loti)))

pertelote · 05/04/2010 21:57

Hullo all, back from points West after a lovely weekend but about to collapse so just a quickie...

Oops so sorry to hear about P, hope she is feeling a bit better by now? But so scary for you, thank goodness DH etc could get home. And she was being such a sweetheart only a little while before, M was thrilled to meet her and has been talking ever since about seeing her at the zoo and looking at the monkeys together . (Young E. Gardenia was also a BIG hit, and she has been walking her toys around like she saw K. Buckets doing )

It was wonderful to see so many (though it couldn't be more), Miamla did indeed look gorgeous and it was a really lovely wedding. It was much too short a meeting though so I'm all for a big plan...

Cece I am glad O is feeling better. DS has chucked up all he has eaten this afternoon although he is keeping drinks down OK still he is as chipper as ever so not sure what's up with him. Fingers crossed both mine sleep well tonight, DS was awake all the way home from Sazzes last night , in fact it took several verses of currant buns in the baker's shop to keep away total meltdown during the last 30 minutes or so. This was not helped by me having to stop for petrol twice . I thought we would make it home as the gauge was showing half full as we set off but it went down a lot quicker than expected. I put a fiver's worth in somewhere around Sheffield but had to [put some more in 20 miles later as was down to the bottom end of the red area and panicking I wouldn't make it. Robbing bastards though, it was £1.25 a litre so didn't get to sleep until 9.45pm

Firefox keeps messing me around, hope this posts...

Also did Cyteen politely ignore some folks intending to crash her wedding? I'm up for it if you guys are

We are thinking of another northern meet so we can hug No1 but we will ahve to be quick and organised? Anyone else up for it?

TwilightSurfer · 06/04/2010 02:10

reading throughout day but caught up in my own little world. sorry.

hugs to all

cyteen · 06/04/2010 08:33

Well, our wedding is in a much less picturesque location than Miamla's so although you are welcome to come and hang around outside, I fear that a five minute glimpse of me is not enough to balance out a day spent in the centre of Leicester

Would love to do a northern meet up but can't make anywhere that needs a car, so Cannon Hall is no good for me.

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/04/2010 08:40

Morning

things much improved here - DD's last drug combo was at 7 last night and she slept until 8 this morning Pleased to hear O on the mend too. And hopefully little hotterboy has not developed anything nasty overnight.

TS - Hugs

Cyteen - I went to Leicester once not been back........ But I've not been north much at all.

Small girl demanding bekfast now back later.

CaptainCaveman · 06/04/2010 09:14

Cyteen whatever do you mean, Leicester is lovely , or at least as lovely as Nottingham!

Hotpot how is Hotsboy this morning? O has a gammy eye and is full of cough and cold but he's gone to nursery

Actually, dh just rang having dropped ds2 off - he was confronted by the owner saying O couldnt' come in because he'd been sick in the last 48 hours! She saw my fb status saying O was poorly . Dh reassured her he has not vommed now for 48 hours and they reluctantly let him in. They seem to have forgotten I haven't paid them yet this month . Must be more careful what I put on fb though!

CaptainCaveman · 06/04/2010 09:14

oops I'm glad your little P is on the mend too

dizzydixies · 06/04/2010 09:35

cece seriously - she conducts her business as per facebook!?!? I'd block her

oops glad there is an improvement in P and that you got a sleep

busy busy today

CaptainCaveman · 06/04/2010 09:40

I know dizz, I'm a bit like , yeah yeah yeah, whatever..!
