Ello ello ello we are back from tiny but lovely hol in Blighty meeting you foxy ladies and admiring the belle of Bristol. (I only said shipshape and Bristol fashion approx 17,000 times while we were over and so barely annoyed dp at all.) Fab hospitality from TeamSazz for which many, many thanks, and lovely to meet so many others inc the Hotster (feat. Car) and family, and all the zoogoers too, though as someone else said, was all a bit whambangthankyouma'am as some only got fleeting hello, goodbye, all were on child duty and many on partner duty. But hey a brief glimpse is better than no jam and only whets the appetite. I'm up for a thread holiday whenever everyone else is!

ds2 I am sorry to say was unusually testing this weekend so though we had a good time we are both shattered from it and I am praying that behaviour, sleep, eating and general happy-go-luckyishness returns tomorrow when he wakes in his own bed. Also that he will want to be held by me again without shouting accusingly for his daddy. He seemed really overheated (inc temp on Fri night) for a lot of the weekend, with intermittent sweating head and fiery cheeks so maybe there was something properly up with him. Don't know. Lovely that some of the other babies remember him!

And of course delighted to hear that the ill babies are on the mend - poor miniOops, and poor Oops, what a dreadful thing to happen and well done to dh for making a mercy dash home. Hope you are settled again after it and miniOops AOK. Also the poor littlest dixie chick and BabyCavey, hope the toll taken on the mums not to great either.

Dizzy I am very pleased with the jeans I found at Target for DD1. If you send me tape measurements of yours I will gladly go find the size that would fit her perfectly and post them over. See link.

Sazzles NICE score! I hate bank twats!! I was a cool bank lady back in the day but then my customer base were most construction dude doing million dollar deals. FUN!

So far I've had a roofer, a plumber, and a pest control dude here today. Not going with that roofer quote. Plumber said would be smart to do the "wait and see" approach on our possible problem but at least I have some better grasp of $$$ issue if that route is required. Pest guy removed all the cobwebs on the exterior of my domain. Lake living has a pitfall....spiders everywhere. Just waiting till the last minute to agree to the big roof deal. Geez!

Reese seems fine but still croupyish. The pollen is UNGODLY today. My white truck is YELLOW with dust. I'm thinking that could be her problem.

Off to mindlessly shop because of Buckets,Oops, and Cyteen.

Oh lord, is anyone watching the GOSH programme? Please someone watch it with me.

GreenGardenia · 06/04/2010 21:07

Eeek I heard about it on Woman's Hour today.

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/04/2010 21:08

Pert - we are watching it and my first thought was your lovely little DD.

GreenGardenia · 06/04/2010 21:09

perts are you sure you want to watch? It might be v distressing.

GreenGardenia · 06/04/2010 21:10

I must say she is always my first thought whenever I hear the hos name .

Her colouring is STUNNING btw. Am v .

pertelote · 06/04/2010 21:13

I know VG and perhaps I shouldn't. But I also can't not, I think. So far it isn't too close to home - just from the intro and this first poor little thing , I suspect they are going to focus on much more dramatic cases than ours. Which is retrospectively quite reassuring for me IYSWIM. But thank you

pertelote · 06/04/2010 21:18

Just seen our surgeon I think

GreenGardenia · 06/04/2010 21:19

Yes that is actually a lovely way of looking at it!

God I am in tears already just because this guy wants to help the little girl they said they wouldn't operate on.

Yes it's Mr Tsang! He's fab. These poor parents, these are far more heartbreaking situations than ours. Things were very clear for us that it was a serious surgery but a very well-practised one.

GreenGardenia · 06/04/2010 21:36

Oh poor Blessing.

How impossible to make these decisions, the weighing-up, will we, won't we, ought we, oughtn't we, what if this, what if that? What on earth are the answers?

I'm not sure we will be able to watch much more.

pertelote · 06/04/2010 21:37

Our consultant's in this meeting too. Aren't they all lovely?

oopsandbabycoconut · 06/04/2010 21:39

They are all fantastic - They don't just say no and leave it they take the time to discuss each reason and go to great lengths to makethe right decision for each family. What a amazing lots of people to have on your side.

TwilightSurfer · 06/04/2010 21:43

I'm so glad I can't watch. I would be crying and crying and crying. Such emotion!

I know VG . But isn't that meeting amazing, the way they all sit and look and talk about it.

That tube-like corridor is bringing back memories - it connects Cardiac ICU to the rest of the building.

This poor little chap .

cyteen · 06/04/2010 21:50

I'm not watching the GOSH programme (caught up in Masterchef ) but GG, what you've said just above about the decision-making process is exactly what I came to think about the paed neurologist I used to work for. The minute, individual adjustments of drug and other treatment regimes; the fine balancing of information and compassion when dealing with parents and loved ones; the sheer leap of faith that needs to be taken sometimes. It is something I can only admire from afar, really.

pertelote · 06/04/2010 22:09

Aaaaaand relax. Thanks guys, sorry for hijacking the thread. Very, very sad in parts, especially little Bryan, but on the whole I'm glad I saw it. Just feel very, very, lucky, and there-but-the-grace-ish, and kind of honoured that our little girl had that kind of attention and skill mobilised for her. Yay for modern medicine, eh.

GreenGardenia · 07/04/2010 07:07

Yes Bryan really was terrifically sad, I was sure, because of the music they were playing when he went in for the transplant, somehow, that he was going to be all right. Oh, what some people have to go through. When I think of things like myself getting irritated because I had to shell out £14.99 for a broken tractor money box that ds2 hurled onto the flagstones of the shop at Longleat the other day, I really realise how petty my concerns are and how the only thing to do with your children, ever, ever, ever, is smile at them and be grateful to have them.

(Don't worry I'll be an irritable bitch again by lunchtime.)

Collecting dogs, having lunch with my mum, having ds1 back from hols, going out tonight, huzzah all round, will have to do some work tomorrow but today am still off.
