Hi flip- I'm watching it, but not that closely. But i think DC isn't coming across very well, not that i'm a fan anyway. I saw you had resigned on FB, but didn't want to "like" it as I knew you were kind of pushed into it.
muddled- also saw your FB status . DH and I joke about our little baby, patting my tummy and joking about what we'll call him/her. It really is quite large, and I am dreading someone asking if i'm pg when i'm just fat .
hopalong- your posts make me . Tell your DH that you want sun, sea and ? sleep? sangria? baby-making and that Holland isn't what you had in mind. We holidayed in Tuscany with our DD when she was 6mo and went skiing in France when she was 14mo - flying is relatively easy when you have 1 LO so you should make the most of it. We just haven't contemplated going abroad since, but I know lots of friends who have been to warmer climes with their DCs. But yes, we've opted for the east coast again this summer .
spangle- hope the funeral went as well as these things can go. I have been thinking of you and your DH today.
headless- good luck for the scan tomorrow, and fingers crossed for the next few weeks.
belgian- I have been meaning to say something for a while to offer support or advice about Cs sleep and your work situation, but i feel i don't have anything useful to say on either. I think you would be a wonderful community midwife, so definitely worth considering. I was also wondering whether you have a head of midwifery or something that you could ask for a review with? You may well find you are doing really well, it's just that you don't feel confident after your ML. I feel like I am not quite "with it" at work, but my boss is happy with my performance. On the sleep, the only thing I can advise is to be consistent- if you decide on a strategy with C's sleep, such as no co-sleeping, then your DH needs to stick to it , so fingers crossed he is helping, as sleep deprivation is horrible. My DH has been great with nights as he was resettling S when we decided on no more night feeds, and S had been sleeping very well until teething and conjunctivitis hit. DH has been whining about only sleeping in 2 hour blocks for 3 nights on the run as he has to resettle S (although this does only take 5-10 mins tops). I had to deal with S waking every 2-3 hours for months and months . I have even felt so bad after his 3 bad nights, I have said he should sleep in the spare room tonight, as when he's with me, I either don't hear the DCs, or do hear them but wait for him to get up first . Of course, I am secretly hoping that they won't wake and that i get a lovely sleep in our super king size bed without listening to his snoring . Sorry, that turned into a whinge about my DH.
