Aww Tummum - really not nice working with or for someone like that &
Have you got any nearer an escape plan?

I've gradually discovered a load of little things that DH has done that have annoyed me this evening. It's like he's leaving a little trail and he's not even here!
He bought some eggs at the farmers market a few weeks ago and they went out of date so he threw them out. Only thing is he literally just threw them in the wheely bin. Bin men came today and smashed eggs now sitting in the bottom of our wheely bin!
He also uses the last of something and then doesn't tell me so I don't buy anymore in time for when we run out. Tonight, tin foil. I went to tear a strip off and there's a 2" strip left on the roll! I should be grateful I suppose that he cooked at the weekend which is why he used the foil!

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 19:54

headless lol at wine o'clock well done ds1.. I always thought those lifts looked tricky.
belgina i've been on a bit of a spending spree the last week. my winter coat had worn out so i bought thelast one of these in dark brown and in the sale too in preparation for our NS trip I ordered the travel case for the bugaboo, a gruffalo trunki for DS. After some lengthy pondering about slings and what i want to use it for and what i like about carrying G i've ordered a scooterbaby versailles hip carrier i just love to see G when i'm carrying her and like the carrier to be fast to put on.. bit lazy me! my last purchases were a selection of babylegs on ebay for £4.50 a piece. the trunki and coat have arrived and are fab. but really looking forward to my sling and babylegs coming though! good job we've been saving for so long

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 20:02

tummum your boss sounds like a nasty piece of work
ses mini rant away lol at sticky bad eggs in the bin.

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 20:24

tummum what's happened to your dh's car?!!

Tummum · 24/03/2010 20:37

Lol Fi. He works on a sewerage farm ! He works for a company that dries slurry into solids which are then burned for energy. Anyway, they are building a new plant and apparently the slurry is of a different kind to the slurry in the other plant, so he has a 'sample' in the boot to take to the new plant to see how it does. And yes, I do make him have a shower before he comes anywhere near the house. And he doesn't have to wear a suit to work. And we don't use his car (well, pick up) to travel anywhere in because it stinks

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 21:06

ahh rofl tummum

llareggub · 24/03/2010 21:10

PMSL at Tummum's DH's shitty car. But very sorry to hear about your bitchy boss. Fingers crossed you get away from there soon.

Fi I love those leg warmers and my credit card is getting itchy! What a bargain that coat is. It looks really toasty. I think you need to invest in some lovely, luxurious thermals too. ANy more news on the NS move?

younger I've been thinking about your post about witnessing the accident. I think it is entirely normal for you to suffer some trauma afterwards. Look after yourself. How are you today?

Headless

Ses how irritating about the bin. My DH does that sort of thing too; he has an annoying habit of starting to paint a wall then losing interest and leaving it half-painted. He does it frequently and it is ANNOYING. No consolation, I'm sure, but no life here either!

Belgian I'm glad the meds are working for DS. Let's hope they do the trick for him.

Pula Very cute story about nursery. G has just discovered waving and is very pleased with himself. I am also in AWE that you took 3 children to church. In fact, I am in awe of you all with 3 children...

Hinny no sleep here either.

Sausage I am enjoying your bruise updates. I hope you are healing well.

Muddled I think I need that book!

flippinegg My GP tells me off for being over-cautious. She told me to trust my instincts because she finds that parents are usually right about a child being ill. In fact she told me to never hesitate about going to see her.

Running Glad the CM seems less stressed now. I bet it is a combination of Ofsted and the fact that now seems to be a really clingy age. I'm sure things will improve.

Spangle when is H 1? I think we need to blow out some virtual candles on the day.

Work for me on the 7th. I popped in yesterday and met with the rest of my team to learn about re-structuring. No news on how it will impact on me yet, but fingers crossed it will be better than the current situation.

G is still really unsettled at night and it is driving me bonkers. I think he is changing very quickly at the moment and I am wondering it the developmental changes are linked to a need to feed constantly. He is on his feet, waving and miserable as anything if I leave his sight.

I had the NCT lot over today for cake so the house is wrecked and I am stuffed full of cake. Feeling veyr sleepy too...

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 21:39

wow llare mega NC! hopefully you'll get a better night tonight and think you're probably right wrt developmental.. G's doing far more things now, is full of snot & has an occasional cough.. all of these things combined are wearing her out and making her downright cranky at times. NS plans are on course.. will be booking flights/car hire/accommodation by friday I think for our recce to check everything out (property, places/villages, jobs etc) and meet the RDA people who we will need to agree to support our application for PR. we'll be away for the last 3weeks of may

llareggub · 24/03/2010 22:20

Oh Fi, how exciting! I shall re-read all of the Anne of Green Gable series while you are away in your honour. I do hope it goes well.

belgina · 24/03/2010 22:33

llare I'm also thinking there are a lot of developmental things going on at the mo. C has changed a lot over the last week, mainly her "talking" and the like. I had even been thinking about getting my wonderweeks book out to check, but keep getting sidetracked. Not far now for work for you either. I hope the whole restructuring will work out positively for you.

tumm about your bitchy boss. There's no need for that. Maybe she is letting her position get to her head a little Lol at your DH's car. You'll have to get him to go for a long drive with the windows open when his job is finished.

fi You got some nice things there. I didn't know that you could get a bugaboo case. That's a great idea for plane travel! I've got some babylegs for C too (actually Huggalugs). They're great for when I carry her and it's cold or she's wearing trousers. It's great that they can just be put on and taken off without undressing baby all the way IYKWIM. How exciting about nearly booking the NS flight too. It sounds like it's all becoming real.

We had bad news about that house. They've not accepted our offer and have accepted someone else's offer instead. So it looks like we'll be staying in this cosy 3 bed house for a while longer

C's train only needs to be held up while the music plays and not inbetween song, lol. A big grin needs to be in place too

belgina · 24/03/2010 22:34

Oh and I forgot to add a directed at headless' skiing and wine o'clock.

llareggub · 24/03/2010 22:39

Uh-oh, I've just had the best thought. Tummum, I think you should find a use for the shitty stuff from your DH's company and place it somewhere strategic. Somewhere like work, perhaps?

Sorry about the house Belgina. I bet you'll find the perfect house. I am a firm believer in houses finding their way to you. Will you report back on the Wonder Weeks thing?

flippinegg · 24/03/2010 22:44

fi - all sounds exciting.

headless - .

llareggub - great NC. Sorry to hear about G being so unsettled. It's hard. Hopefully it passes soon.

tummum - your DH's job sound, erm, interesting! Your boss souns very very unpleasant.

All ok here, my cold is not great but A seems slightly better. Still coughing, but sleeping a little bit better. Inlaws are annoying. I'm having fun plotting DD1's birthday cake, she three on Sunday! I can't believe it. Cake won't be fab, it's going to be a princess cake (you know, doll stuck in a pudding basin type affair). I make good cake, but I'm not very good at icing so it'll be interesting!

I thought of you all this evening - I ate a Magnum! Remember those magnum-eating, pregnant days...

Off to bed. Night!

flippinegg · 24/03/2010 22:46

Cross-posts. belgina - sorry to hear abou the house. Hope something works out for you soon.

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 22:50

belgina I have some hugalugs bookmarked too but need to wait until the end of the month With G cruising around everything she can & with the warmer weather hopefully soon approaching I thought they would be great for keeping her legs warm & knees protected while at the same time allowing her to be bare foot and have more grip on our non-carpeted floors than her tights and socks. I could splash out for gap tights and socks with the rubber grip stuff on the bottom but I just couldn't resist all these lovely patterns and they'll last waaay longer than gap tights as they're one size stretches to all so I know i'll get my monies worth out of them

sorry you didn't get the house what a shame maybe the other people won't pass the credit checks & refs?!

I loved the fisher price train & I think it would go down very well here too.

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 22:57

x posts flippin hope you get a good night tonight

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 22:58

sorry that should be cross fingers.. not fringers! can't type.. have a feeling i should go to bed too

Tummum · 24/03/2010 23:07

Llare I must think of some appropriate ideas. A good thought !

Belgina sorry you didn't get the house

Flip very impressed at proper cake making. DD1 has requested a strawberry cake. That's a cake that looks like a strawberry. Wonder if I'll get away with a sponge covered in strawberries instead

Fi off to bed with you !

Night. Tomorrow's Thursday which means last day at work for me . Until next week [boo].

Tummum · 25/03/2010 07:47

Morning. Last out first in !

Ses forgot to pass my sympathies at annoying DHs. Mine would do the foil thing too. Mine has a habit of eating the last of whatever is in the house, and it's usually something associated with a packed lunch for DD1 or something promised to DD2. Grrrr.

runningmonkey · 25/03/2010 09:11

Hi all,
Am at home with a poorly A today (shame as she had a fab day at the cm yesterday) so am bookmarking as am going to attempt to catch up if I can get A to sleep later.
xx

Morning

A quick one before going off swimming.

dh's annoying habbits Ses, llare. Mine does just that. He also likes to make some toast in the evening without checking how much is left often leading to having just too little in the house. Leaving empty boxes in cupboards, so I think said item is still in stock. Putting 2 sticks of carrot or equally ridiculously small amount of left overs in a bowl, cover with tin foil and then leave it to stew in the fridge for a couple of weeks... I could go on and on and on and on...

wonder weeks Well, our babies are due a developmental spurt around now. The calender in the book lists 41-47 weeks of age as a time where babies get more clingy etc... The developmental spurt seems to be about language and understanding things.

Right gotta go now or I'll be late.

Back later

SinninHinny · 25/03/2010 10:51

Hello hello hello

Bestows kisses, waves and is generally just regal and gracious.

Can you tell I actually have some free time?

llare Lovely to see you again

belgina Oh boo about the house but lol about C and her train.

flip Hope IL's are well-behaved today and good luck with the cake. S has a cough too.

tum aha ha ha ha at DH's car but a virtual molotov cocktail to twatty boss

headless

fi I love the legs. And woo-hoo about NS!

ses DH-related grr. Hope work is going well

running I love your pictures of A on FB - the green and particularly the stair-climbing (I am there). I hope she is ok.

Everyone I've missed........Hiiiiiiiiiiiyyyya (as DD2 would say).

Back to work next Thurs..........aaaaaaaargh

febes · 25/03/2010 13:07

Hi remember me??

Been busy here. ILs are here now so I have to socialize in the evenings . I also worked yesterday and I have been booked to do 4 days next week but the timing is good as MIL will look after the DCs for FREE.

They haven't annoyed me yet. Well a bit when MIL was stroking DDs hair and face while she was eating her lunch . But really they have been great and I have throughly enjoyed showing off my gorgeous kids.

R has started blowing kisses. He definately has understanding (waves bye bye, clapping etc). He is so fast and crawls through the house in a flash and climbs things and generally freaks me out.

Sorry for no NC but hi to everyone.

runningmonkey · 25/03/2010 14:39

Well, catching up hasn't quite happened One more week of school and I'll do some proper NC'ing and catching up, scouts honour.

Took A to the Dr this am as she has had really runny nappies since the weekend when we had one spectacular vom (can't remember if I mentioned it or not!). There doesn't really seem to be anything wrong with her though and its v annoying as she had such a good day yesterday. Am in a bit of a quandry about what to do tomorrow as she really does seem fine apart from the runny poo. CM said that if she seems well and doesn't poo in the night tonight to send her but I'd feel awful if her or any of the other mindees gets ill

Hope everyone is ok though, sending good sleeping vibes to all x
