Here you go ladies.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
muddleddaizy · 22/03/2010 14:22

Hello ladies, finally I have time to post!

Jennster Hope all goes well at work today.

Looby Must have been scary, hope M is well on the road to recovery now.

Sausage Glad your bruising is going down. Hope you manage to get the pain under control. Make sure that you keep moving regularly though - oops not at work now, sorry!

Pula Glad you had some me time the other day. Seeing the accident must have been very scary.

Younger Not surprised you were with DH yesterday. Are you managing to fit in all your hours every week? I know what you mean about the dc preferring easy going dad. Its the same in this house. A big fuss is made when DH does out to work and comes back. Hardly anyone blinked an eye when I went to and from work at the weekend!

Singing Not sure if I've mentioned it before (forgive my failing memory if I have) but everytime I read your name I think of my Grandad. He used to call us Hinny Hope you get the bullying sorted, it's not nice.

Flippin Only one more day of the PIL! Has your MIL done your ironing yet?

Re Sleep issues My hv recommended this sleep book I haven't read that much of it yet, but it seems quite good. Apparently the Millpond Sleep Clinic is the place that deal with children's sleep problems. I really need to read it soon as ds2's sleep is going pear shaped. He's waking up 2/3 times a night and has been awake downstairs with either dh or I between 3 & 5am for the past few days. We are all shattered!

Right I need to go and wash my uniform - oh joy, sorry for all those I've not name checked. Hope all are well.

muddleddaizy · 22/03/2010 21:09

oo er have I killed the thread?!

SinninHinny · 22/03/2010 21:18

Hello muddle No I'm here

Just stuffing my face having a healthy snack

Back to work next week - I get called Hinny at work, it's a 'further north than Teesside' thing apparently....

I'm hoping S has a good night again, DD2 managed to run into the doorframe earlier so she has a big bruise on her head.

Just watching House whilst I'm MNing

flippinegg · 22/03/2010 21:40

Evening all!

muddled - wish it was only one more day of PILs, it's week tomorrow! They are driving me quietly mad. She hasn't done the ironing yet, but they have bought DD1 some new shoes (she needed them, I chose them, they paid).

muddled - sorry to hear about the sleep problems, you have my sympathy. That book looks intersting though, do let us know how you get on with it. I've got a copy of the No Cry Sleep Solution from when DD1 was younger, although it sound great on paper we struggled to make it work for us as it's a bit, well, vague at times.

hinny - hope you managed to get the bullying thing sorted, you're right, DD really needs a period of calm right now.

sausage - glad you are on the mend. Enjoy the drugs. Bruises sound v attractive!

DH and his father were pretty daft today. We went shopping, about an hour in the car. Before we left to come home we went to a cafe, DH and FIL gave DD1 a large glass of water and then some apple juice...well, there was quite a lot of traffic on the M25, we couldn't stop the car, you can imagine the size of the puddle, can't you? DD1 was really upset about it, she'd been doing really well today as well and had been feeling really pleased with herself.

Re understanding - yep, I think A understands stuff. She's got a good idea of what she is and isn't allowed to do - she will crawl off to something, look at me to see if I'm watching or not, and then carry on. If I say no to her, she shakes her head back at me! And this week's excitement (after last week's kissing) - is that if you start singing 'round and round the garden' she points at her hand [v proud mum emoticon]. Oh, and the final excitement - she is now standing on her own, not holding on to anything. She can either stand up from sitting with no hands, or just lets go of whatever she was holding. She wobbles one leg a bit too, as though she's thinking about walking!

flippinegg · 22/03/2010 21:50

There's always something I forget . Decided to take to the dr tomorrow about her cough, it's been a week now and no improvement; well, it's getting worse I think. But on the other hand she has no other symptoms really, so maybe I'm be a bit overcautious?

flippinegg · 22/03/2010 21:53

Gah. That should, of course, read that I've decided to take A to the doctor tomorrow.

pulapula · 22/03/2010 22:05

flippinegg - I seem to be at the GPs all the time and they never make any comments about me over-reacting or anything. The last time with DS1 was a bit as he was fine when we got to the docs. I think after a week, it's worth getting A looked over.

Just wondering if any other LOs have a habit of chewing food (particularly finger food) then spitting it out rather than swallowing? S does it with raisins, bread sticks, apple, peas etc.

And I've just been watching "married single other" and been blubbing away - anyone else? It was very .

essenceofSES · 22/03/2010 22:10

flip - how clever is A?! So cute too, especially pointing at her hand for "round and round the garden"
FIL and DH obviously not so clever!

Hinny - make the most of your last week! Let us know how you get on with DD1's "friend".

muddled - not suprised you're exhausted. Hope you get a better night.

running - sorry A has been poorly. Glad you've managed to have a chat with CM.

Pula - glad last night was a better night. Hope S continues to sleep better for you again.

saus - Glad you've got some drugs that work for you now and that M is being so great. Your bruise sounds horrific!

Belgina - shame there were no piccies of you looking stunning in your dress. Maybe you'll have to find another party to wear it to?! Here's to another good night for you from C

younger - from the sounds of things, you're doing really well fitting your work in around your DDs. I can imagine that it can't be easy as during the day you're focussed on them and then by the evening you're probably tired.

Puppy - she's getting better in terms of toilet training (although not great!) and is still a nightmare re chewing. She is lovely but I seriously would not have got her if it wasn't for DH and our other dog.

I had a better day at work today so feeling more positive.
Went round to my parents for lunch yesterday and they are just so... entertaining (I think is the polite way of putting it!) Forever digging at eachother. It must be so wearing, I don't understand why!!! Not a good advert for 40+yrs of marriage!

Anyway, I should go off to bed. Had a cold and keep coughing so not been getting "proper" sleep. (What is proper sleep? Have any of us had proper sleep in the last 18 months?!)
Hello to anyone else I've missed!

youngerthanspringtime · 22/03/2010 22:39

evening all.
not working, just did about an hour and now relaxing on MN/FB/emailing etc.

understanding, my favourite is when I go 'ah ah ah' for 'don't you do/touch that', she tries to repeat it back to me with a big grin. also, when I ask, where is George's nose/eyes she'll point to the right one, usually poking poor but very patient dog in the eye with fascination.

Flip, that's amazing A standing like that!

Ses, glad you had a better day, but your parents .

Pula, H chews and spits beans, raisins, toast, anythng chewy actually. She's not had an appetite lately so whatever has gone in her mouth has come out a chewed up version of what it was.

Belg, wear the dress again and take aphoto!

Muddled, very interested in that book. and sorry for the sleep probs by you as well. you may remember my dd1&2 were waking up 5-10x a night (no exaggeration) for a couple of months. it's now reduced to maybe once/twice a night by dd1 and she usually goes straight back to sleep. but, I do feel your pain. people say it's a phase but it really felt like a long one to me. Let me know what you think of that book. I may just get it anyway.

sausage, hope the painkillers are helping and your bruise starts reducing instead of growing.

Hinny, hope your dd1 is ok, sweet thing.

running, hope A is better soon.

everyone else, Hi!

Just wanted to tell you about dd1's bike. I got her the most tatty, old pink bike from freecycle so she could learn how to ride a pedal bike before we buy her a nice one for her dec birthday. there is a rip in the seat, paint scraped off, brake cables pulled off, rust, etc. but the angels are still visible, it has beads on the spokes, a working bell, it's neon pink - she's over the moon! she thanked me and DH so many times yesterday. and it was genuine! I felt almost bad that we got her such a tatty thing but am so pleased she's happy. I guess only at age 4 and under could we get away with such a gift. made me smile, anyway.

belgina · 23/03/2010 09:59

Morning all,

younger Your story about your dd1's bike made me smile. My dd1 was the same with a tatty old bike we found abandoned somewhere on holiday. We even got a nicer one from a friend, but she doesn't want it because the tatty old one has those balls on the spokes that rattle when she rides it

sausage Hope the pain goes soon. Nice to hear that you're getting looked after by your parents. I'll fb you and see what you think.

muddled Glad to hear that the cm is going to give it another go. Hopefully it was just the ofsted stress thing getting on top of her.

flip A's just amazing. Standin and trying to walk and all that.

ses Sounds like your puppy is settling in, but a lot of work. Hope the chewing fase goes soon. It must be teething

flip Hope A's cough will get better soon. It might be an idea to get it checked out.

singing one week before work. Enjoy your last week. Have lots of cuddles Hope you'll get to talk to your dd1's 'friend' soon too.

Ds's meds seem to be doing the trick. He had more dry nights than ever and for the last 3 days he hasn't had the tablets due to DH refusing to let our DH buy into the "pill" "culture" and he's been dry every night so far That honestly has never happened to him, so hopefully this is the start of something good.

C made us all laugh this morning. We were all at the table, she'd been throwing around her sandwich as usual and when she was finished she had a big stretch and then shouted at the top of her voice "Ahbwababababooga!" It sounded like a proper sentence

Hmm, I've probably forgotten a few nc's, but thought I'd just quickly come on before going off to work later on. Got to do the ironing now and go to the post office too. Hope you're all having a great day.

SpangleMaker · 23/03/2010 20:28

Hi all. Just making dinner and waiting for DH to come back from his jolly day at a trade fair.

Belgina that made me . I can just imagine C as a real entertainer.

Singin enjoy your last week before work.

Ses glad work is getting better.

flip very impressed with A and her understanding... and standing! H definitely understands some things - he responds to: 'no' (tries to obey but often can't help himself.. usually reaching for bottles on the wine rack!), 'can mummy have the spoon please?' (sometimes hands me the spoon, sometimes drops it on the floor ), 'will you eat some more toast', 'wave bye-bye'.

running glad you have a plan with your CM.

younger that's a lovely story about DD1's bike

pula yes H does that quite often, especially with banana. I was really pleased because I discovered he'll eat Leerdammer cheese (he is a bit funny with dairy) - but he shoves as much of it in his mouth as he can then spits it out. I'm hoping it's a phase.

sausage hope you're beginning to feel a bit better. I bet your bruise is an interesting colour right now!

m, still no sign of DH. Looks like I'll be eating alone. At least I can MN guilt free

flippinegg · 23/03/2010 22:17

Evening. No NCing, sorry, I'm full of snot and all fuzzy - we al have stinking colds.

Took A to the doctor, it's a virus and fortunately no chest infection - probably just a case of really bad timing in that it's another cold right on top of the ear infection. Her chest is clear, and her ears are fine now too.

Off to bed now. In-laws back at 8.30 for breakfast tomorrow!

SinninHinny · 23/03/2010 22:46

Hi all.

Well S fed 7 times last night, so the sleeping through was a one-night only special.

Ah well.

flip so sorry to hear about illnesses, poor poor you. I hope tomorrow is better day (although ILs at 8.30am )

spangle What time did DH roll in return home from his jolly important business-related day?

Oh feckin nora, S is awake again.......

youngerthanspringtime · 23/03/2010 22:48

Hi all.
flippin, Hope A is better, poor lass.
Spangle, hope you had a nice, quiet meal with MN .
belgina, so glad for your DS' dry nights and at A. she sounds like good entertainment!

I've nothing much to say, really. had a lovely morning with dd2 andH at the park, picked up DD1 from preschool. then the day clouded over and I became impatient with everyone, took the 3 dds out at 6pm with the dog for a walk, got rained upon, came back and dd1 tipped over the full potty (everything) all over the entrance hall tile. lots of screaming (mostly me). so now tired of that. I'm trying to remember the nice times of today (easy to do).

HOpe all of you are well today.
going to bed, very tired. can't write full sentences. in fact.

SinninHinny · 23/03/2010 23:01

Night younger sweet dreams xx

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 08:03

morning! I have to do the pre school run but plan to be back here after to catch up see you all in a bit x

SinninHinny · 24/03/2010 11:10

So S slept until 5.20 this morning. Yay.

Took her to look round nursery yesterday, she will have a wonderful time there

Just sat here eating popcorn, debating what to do today.

What's everyone else doing?

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 12:53

hiya hinny i didn't make it back here in the end.. I was internet shopping all much needed stuff of course!! how did it go about the bullying?

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 12:57

younger how are you doing today?

pulapula · 24/03/2010 13:04

younger- full potty - not surprised you were although lucky it was on tiles not carpet - can you tell I am trying to see the positive all the time to stop me getting about things.

hinny - glad S enjoyed her time at nursery and slept well for you last night after a bad night previously. We had a good night too - if not the best EVER - S slept 7pm til 4.30am , then he/we dozed/fed on and off until 7.15am. If i could just stay awake and return him to his cot, it would have been even better...

Just thought i'd share a sweet story from nursery yesterday. S heard music over the other side of the room, so he crawled all the way over, sat up, and started doing his latest tricks - rocking side to side and clapping . He also waves bye-bye when we say to, and when asked "how big is S" he stretches his arms above his head. He is so lovely now he is feeling better. Still clingy, but i just carry him around as I'm more chilled about it .

FiByTheIcySea · 24/03/2010 14:09

pula glad s is feeling better and your post made me awww at his dancing, clapping & stretching clever s.
G is sitting very happy with herself as she's now eating the last slice of ds's buttered toast she's just climbed up to nick from his plate ..

belgina · 24/03/2010 17:38

Quiet on here recently. I presume it's a combination of mobile babies, nicer weather and back to work...

younger tipping over a full potty! Nightmare! But like pula said, just as well that it wasn't on carpet

hinny Nice to hear S is enjoying nursery. Hope her sleeping continues to get better

fi Don't you go and spend all your money on rubbish internet shopping.

pula Lovely story. Nice to hear what all babies are doing. They can be so cute I love the age they are now, because they are starting to commuicate a little and copy things

C's just found an empty wrapper in my bag and has been playing with that for the last 15min or so. Who needs toys? C loves musical toys too. The activity train I got her last weekend is a big hit here. Apparently it needs to be held up high when it plays music .

Today we had jumping beans. C is now used to it and is clearly more relaxed and enjoying the whole singing, dancing, big parachute waving thing.

essenceofSES · 24/03/2010 18:00

Hello!

I've been lurking but don't seem to have the time or a v interesting life now I'm back at work and then on a day like today when I'm off, I fill it with O's social life

Pula - I had to post though and say how cute S sounds and also how you sound much more positive.

hinny - glad you're relieved at nursery. O seems quite happy with his. They've promised to show me some photos they took of messy play yesterday. They stripped the babies down to their nappies and got a load of paint and brushes out. One of the helpers was covered! They'd cleaned O up quite well though

Belgina - that activity train looks good. LOL at C insisting on holding it high

Right, best go and do bathtime. DH working late tonight so I'm hoping O settles easily and I get a couple of hours chilling to myself!

HeadlessLadyH · 24/03/2010 18:17

Bonjour mes amies.

Popping in whilst have a moment so not read any of the last few days so apologies for no NC.

Having a fab fab time here in Meribel. Hotel is lovely, child care is great, the boarding is pretty good and the sun has been out constantly since we got here!

DS1 seems to be doing ok on his skis. First time on a button lift today and he did it without falling off .

HOpe everyone is ok. Sorry to literally pop in and pop out again, but its wine o'clock and the boys are in bed!

A tout a l'heure!

Tummum · 24/03/2010 19:28

Evening all

LadyH is all I have to say. Harumph .

Pula S sounds very cute. My G isn't as good at recognising what we are saying. But he does say "hello". Well, sort of. He says "aaaa-lo" when he sees anyone, and waves madly. Funny

Hinny when do you go back? Glad the nursery seems good

Belgina C sounds very cute. Lol at train-holding-up-ness

Fi go on then, what-ya been buying?

Younger ewwww at potty ! Hope you had a lovely day today.

I have to vent. My boss is a complete bitch. I don't understand why someone would be so vindictive and nasty. It's just not necessary. Luckily the bitch-ness wasn't directed at me, but makes me very uneasy that she is like that. Sigh. I hate work !! (Can you tell?!!)
