Here you go ladies.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jennster · 25/03/2010 15:35

Hello ladies.
I feel bad at not coming on the thread more often. It gets so I want to tell you all my news, but I can't because I have so much to read and, and then when there is so much to read I end up not coming on the thread....it's a vicious circle!

sinninhinny at your dd1's experience. Poor poor thing. I really really feel for her.

pula I can't suggest anything but I'm glad your dh has been supportive and recognises you need some 'Time-Out'.

Looby Glad M is on the mend.

I'm having a moment. I sort of assumed that having 3 would get easier soon, but it's becoming clear, that when one thing gets easier, another complication takes over and it's actually going to be 18 years before it starts to settle down.

Ha see I've only read a fraction of the thread, and have run out of time without telling you about Me!

Catch you next month no doubt!

belgina · 25/03/2010 20:15

jenn Don't worry about the NC. I'd rather you keep us up to date on all the developments in your household . I log on in the evening once a day (except for today), because I know it gets out of hand as soon as I miss a few days and I don't want to stop posting on here IYSWIM.

Today ds got a letter for school telling me all about the special spelling programme he's on and that he has a home practise book to go with it I returned the slip to the school with the appropriate corrections.

Jennster · 25/03/2010 20:32

Ha! I hope they are suitably ashamed! Do they know that English isn't your first language?

pulapula · 25/03/2010 20:46

belgian - glad you pointed out their mistake

jenn- nice to see you . I keep thinking 3 DCs is getting a BIT easier but only probably because I am getting some better sleeps.

I am trying to be positive about things, and have even started planning for DS2s and DS1s birthdays. I've just ordered some personalised banners, party bag things and tableware from this website. I have never bothered with things like that before, but it seems like a nice thing to do . I've ordered the banners with just names and no age attached, so we can bring them out each year [sensible cheapskate emoticon].

Jennster · 25/03/2010 20:55

running hope lo gets better soon. Dd2 has a horrific red weeping patch on her vulva. It really really hurts her. She's developed it over the course of today, and it's amazing how quickly it happened. Runny nappies here too.

FiBTS Those Trunkis are fab. I was thinking about buying one each for dd1 and ds. I might do it for Easter instead of an egg, as we've booked a villa in Tuscany for a week in June for Dh's 40th birthday, and our last holiday outside school holidays. I can't wait!

Belgina those balls are called Spokey Dokeys (Dokies?)

Going back to work went surprisingly well. I'm bloody knackered at the end of the day. I'm not used to standing 10 hours again. Anyway dd2 seems fine at nursery, but won't drink the milk I painstakingly reluctantly lovingly express, so is up in the night on the following nights.

Got to go!

Check out my facebook page where all my cake photos are. I've been having fun icing cakes recently!

essenceofSES · 25/03/2010 21:43

Jenn - just had a look at your FB. Love the caterpillars. Also your other photos are v cute - baby led korma and baby in a dishwasher made me
Glad work was ok. 10hrs on your feet is a long time though!

Running - your photos are gorgeous too. A has grown so much since out meet up!

Pula - great birthday planning (not cheapskate at all!)

Belgian - at practise!!! Good on you for correcting them

Febes - glad ILs are ok and being useful! Any pointless presents?!

Hello hinny, Fi, younger, Tummum and anyone else lurking!

SpangleMaker · 25/03/2010 22:11

Evening all. Sorry no super-duper name check a la llare as I've got a few things to do before bed, so it'll be just what my rubbish memory has retained...

Fi v exciting making plans for your trip. I like the hip carrier you linked to. I might see if DH likes it as he loves carrying H in the baby bjorn.

Jennster glad return to work went well. Standing for 10 hours - I couldn't do it! I shall make my wya to your FB page to admire cake photos. Re expressing, TBH I can't be arsed . I find it really hard work and H won't drink it from me or DH, so I've decided he can just manage on solids for the days he's in nursery.

running hope A is fully better soon.

Ses grr at DH annoyances. Mine has some too. One of the most minor but also most irritating habits has to be leaving tea bags in weird places eg in the sink, in glasses, on the worktop.... WHY NOT IN THE BIN????

llare H's birthday is 1 April - a week today! He's not having a full-on party, but a couple of mums & babies are calling round in the morning then family in the afternoon. pula I must have a look at your link. llare is G's birthday the next after H's? I know he's one of the first few. Or is it Looby's M? We will definitely be here for a virtual birthday cake and candle-blowing-out.

We're having a quiet night after staying over at my Dad's last night and leaving H for the evening while DH & I travelled down to Birmingham to see Paloma Faith. Absolute nightmare. I checked the venue - O2 Academy - online: we know the Carling Academy well, so googled, and google maps told us it was one and the same, so we just assumed the Academy's sponsorship had changed. No. The O2 Academy is somewhere else entirely... 118118 gave us the post code, which we typed in to the satnav, but the bloody satnav couldn't keep up with the car and kept losing contact with the satellite so we ended up driving round Birmingham for 40 minutes, until we stopped at a bus stop on Broad Street and figured out where it was on a map. The stupid thing is we both know Birmingham really well to walk around - driving is another matter! And then we had to drive round trying to find a car park with spaces. Fortunately we didn't miss too much and really enjoyed the rest of the gig. But it wasn't quite the relaxing evening a deux we had planned!

Hope everyone else ok this evening

pulapula · 25/03/2010 22:40

Hello spangle- so exciting that H is one next week .

expressing- I don't bother either on my work days. S won't drink expressed or formula milk at nursery, and I just about make it through the day without getting too full, although the first day back at work each week is always the worst and I usually do end up desperate to feed him when I get home. By the end of the week, my boobs have adjusted, and I vow to stop daytime feeds (or reduce them) to help with the next week, but S still feeds on demand. I am still probably doing 4 feeds in 24 hours- wakeup, bedtime, my bedtime and middle of the night. But I am [happy] that i have fed this long- I stopped with DS1 at 11 months, so soon this will be the longest I have BF.

Here's a thought - my DD was doing proper walking by Ss age . I guess there may be some walkers on here soon, maybe miniegg or ses's O as I think they were very active.

pulapula · 25/03/2010 22:42

Sorry reading that back, I don't think i made much sense- when i'm working i do 4 feeds in 24 hours (all at nighttime) but if I'm around, S usually demands between 1 and 4 feeds in the day too.

Oh he's waking up...night night ladies...

llareggub · 25/03/2010 23:04

Spangle G's birthday is right at the end of April. We're going to have a quiet birthday lunch with grandparents. I don't know what to buy him. He could do with some toys of his own as his brother is useless at sharing!

youngerthanspringtime · 26/03/2010 00:01

Just a quick post to say Hello . I've been quickly reading but not able to nc, just no, no time. I was out last night to see the comedian John bishop (hilarious) so needed to make up work time. still have loads to do so may not be on for the next couple of days.

miss you lot, though! hope all are well and looking forward to the birthdays arriving with spangle's H to start . getting very nostalgic.

llareggub · 26/03/2010 10:51

Morning all!

Happiness is truly 2 children playing together without constant demands. I am sitting in the playroom while they play and I am "supervising" while I mumsnet research work stuff. Happy days indeed.

We're having a quiet morning after our manic day yesterday. Off to t'gym later. I'm taking part in the mumsnet marathon for Macmillan and I have to contribute 5K to the pot. There is a justgiving page on sticky elsewhere if you fancy sponsoring us all. The boys are going to have a swim with DH while I drag myself around the course. DS is stupidly excited about getting his first swim badge so wants to practice for the next one.

SinninHinny · 26/03/2010 13:49

Hello everyone

I bought these today. Ooh they're lovely. I also bought 2 flippy skirts from H&M (one jersey, one silk) and a couple of tops. All for going back to work.

Not much else to add, S is very poorly with a cold and a horrible cough and is just endlessly bfing, she howled around town and I had to stop 3 times in the space of 2 hours to feed her. Bad mummy

Being referred to surgeon vis-a-vie gallstones, as have polyps or summat as well, to do with thickening of me gallbladder wall. Mmmmm nice.

I spy the chance of an overnight rest in hospital in the near future

So, lovely weather, what's everyone doing today?

FiByTheIcySea · 26/03/2010 21:02

Ooo shoes hinny my favourites now quite old are from schuh. i'd buy yours in a flash if they had another colourway! is s any better this evening?

G is full of snot atm & cough too which put her off her food at beg of week.. thankfully yesterday and today her appetite is slowly returning and her cough is a lot better.. it's been a tough week this week.. DS has been cranky.. the car was getting mum's scrape with a low wall fixed mon tue so I had to do the pre school run on foot and it's been grotty rain on and off all week.. pouring for the last two. DS has had two runny poo accidents today.. hoping it's not the start of more dh still on the laptop.. he just needed 10mins.. an hour ago

Jennster · 26/03/2010 21:07

Sinnin I like those! I bought these to go with this which actually looks better on and different in real life. My sister has lent me a turquoise shawl and matching handbag and fascinator. She persuaded me to get a refund on this....I'm not sure about the fascinator though.

I've started on the Johnson's Holiday tan....wedding is a week on Saturday.

FiByTheIcySea · 26/03/2010 21:10

ooo jennster lovely outfit! even without a tan i'm sure you'll look absolutely fab

Jennster · 26/03/2010 21:20

Thanks Fi. It has boob access of sorts, as R is coming. A and J are going to grandma's.

Expressing R is absolutely refusing the milk I'm expressing, BUT I can't go without feeding for 11 hours. Nursery say she eats loads and loads though and she certainly makes up for it in night.

llareggub · 26/03/2010 21:23

LOVELY outfit Jenn. I really like it.

FiByTheIcySea · 26/03/2010 21:55

Just been emailing our booking confirmation for the holiday house we'll be staying in Digby NS because as of yesterday afternoon we have paid for our flights we're leaving 10th may and returning 31st may & two of those weeks will be in the holiday house... the rest with DH's family. Just got car hire to finalise now.. so we'll be in NS for my 40th & G's 1st and a lot of our may group lo's birthdays of course. I'll have to send a lot of birthday wishes from across the ocean!

SinninHinny · 26/03/2010 22:31

Beautiful outfit jennster. That dress is lovely.

fi Woo-hoo

llare I think I did donate, but I shall check. Oh and you go girl for the run.

Have just put S to bed, having had her attached to my boob for over an hour . Not a well girl.

Proud Mum Alert DD2's school easter egg raffle today. She won 3 eggs. Her friend didn't win any. DD2 gave one of her eggs to this friend without any prompting. She's a lovely, kind girl and several mums and a couple of teachers told me how lovely she is

Ah shoes shoes. Fi I must admit that the colour scheme of the shoes is what made me buy them . I wear all black at work generally, so colourful shoes are a favourite of mine (plus I spend a lot of time trotting up and down stairs so need flats). They have a delicate blue pattern both in the shoe and on the sole. Oh they make me happy.

Lalalalalala.........

Jennster · 26/03/2010 22:58

llare OOoh good luck.

Fi You know, I know exactly that feeling. How exciting! My sister is planning to do a couple of years where you want to go, (not sure how secret you still want us to be about this) or NZ.....I don't want her to go, but my goodness if we didn't have our jobs and everything....

Jennster · 26/03/2010 22:59

sinnin That is such a lovely feeling. You must be so proud.

llareggub · 26/03/2010 23:08

That really was a lovely thing for her to do, Sinnin.

My 5K is all done and I have celebrated with a box of chocolates!

FiByTheIcySea · 26/03/2010 23:24

hinny awww how lovely your dd2 is i'd be a proud mummy too.
NS as far as 99% of our RL friends and 100% of our uk family go it's just a holiday for my 40th birthday. there are only 2 of my close local friends here who know there's more to it than that. so if i wasn't able to share the plans on here i'd probably explode!?! of course if i hate it when we're there.. then it will just.. be a great holiday lol.
llare well done on your 5k

FiByTheIcySea · 27/03/2010 08:44

morning watching G fill her nappy while sitting in the high chair atm.. i think she's a little constipated poor girl as she's going V red with pushing.. that'll be the bananas then!
