Hi girls, thought the old thread was in need of a spring clean, plus, I'm sure if my memory serves me right, one of us had our May-due baby in March (Macoco???) so someone is 2 soon....!

Hey girls

Had a mad week. We have had our garden landscaped this week, kitchen ripped out to be replaced starting tomorrow and all the downstairs floors being replaced. It's been crazy and so dirty.

I am off to Portugal with dd tonight and cannot wait. It has been so busy lately with house stuff, parties etc and i just want some of our us time back.

Happy birthday to all the little ones celebrating this weekend. Lovely weather for parties. I have a mummy tan - brown forearms from pushing the pram in the sun!

I've got a million things to do so best rush off but big wave to everyone and enjoy the sunshine.

MM

Willabywallaby · 23/05/2010 12:39

Have a lovely time in Portugal MM.

House stuff sounds fun!

Mitchell81 · 23/05/2010 13:49

Happy Birthday to the little ones turning 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are off to the Canary islands in the morning, looking forward to swimming in the pool and just relaxing getting a tan. The weather here has been so good which has been nice to get out in the sunshine at home. But can't compare a paddling pool to having a proper pool. Just going for one week in a villa, would have gone for longer as DH has 2 weeks off but because we left it till the last minute, I had organised doctors appointments etc so decided one week was easier. Also easy to tell school that DD was missing 6 days rather than 10 days.

It is my 29th birthday on tuesday and our 10 year wedding anniversary the day we get back so will be celebrating. Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, long may it continue. Off to choose a ring now as DH said I must choose a present and knows how fussy I am so would rather that I decided what I wanted.

Willabywallaby · 23/05/2010 20:11

Mitchell enjoy your hols and your ring shopping, I love a bit of jewellery me .

shonnomanom · 23/05/2010 21:24

ww's ds happy birthday!

mm happy holidays
mitchell happy birthday/holidays/anniversary

We went to see Derren Brown last night for DP's birthday present. It was really really good. But was far too hot!! It was in the Kings theater in Glasgow which is quite old so there was no ac. Dont think i have ever sweated soo much just by sitting down! Was well worth it though.
My childless brother and his GF had dd overnight. Dont think they will be offering again any time soon. She hasnt been sleeping too great this last week, mainly due to the heat I think. But my 'clever' brother didnt make things easy for himself when he left not only her dummy but her beloved babydoll in the car last night. And didnt realise until this morning when he was bringing her home why she had kept asking for 'baby'! Needless to say there wasnt a lot of sleep happening in that house last night, unlike here where I had 11 hours of uninterupted sleep!!!!! I really thought that I would wake at silly oclock but thankfully didnt.

Only one more week until we have 2 cars again!!!!!

Still trying to decide if I should bake or buy a cake for dd;s birthday this coming weekend. . . . .

Hope everyone is well
Sho x

Lucky2010 · 24/05/2010 21:48

Sho sometimes you wonder why you bother don't you? My Sis can be useless with my DDs. I can't wait til she has kids!

HM Hope you have recovered after your shock.

MM enjoy Portugal....and the work on the house ....

Mitchell Enjoy the canaries and Happy Birhtday for tomorrow.

WW hope the party went well.

I have just got back from the most amazing weekend away with my 'premiership' friends (girls from Uni). It was everything I thought it would be and more. Pure bliss. Hot tub, shopping, bike riding, gossiping, looking at old uni photos, eating lovely food, going out for a nice meal, going to the beach, the weather was amazing.....I would prescribe a weekend away to all of you if I was your GP . We were all saying how every woman deserves that once a year or so....it was just fab. Piccies on FB if you can bear to look. Sorry, I appreciate this is probably not what you want to hear!!

On the downside, I do have to do a presentaiton to 20 plus orthopaedic surgeons tomorrow on rehabilitation post Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstrusction......
Quite nervous about it.....wish lucky luck!!

lucky I was just looking at your photos. It looks like you all had a great time! And in such beautiful surroundings! where were you?
Oh and very at your mummy figure, i wish looked half that good!!!! I dont have much courage to put on a swim suite never mind a bikini!

I have just watched the last ever Lost. To say I am confused is an understatement! I think I know what happened but I dont think I do. iykwim.. oh how I wish dp wasnt at work and had watched it with me. Il never get to sleep know....

Harimo · 25/05/2010 06:36

Good Luck, Lucky!! Your photos look great. Don't think I'll be having a child free weekend in quite sometime, but I can think about it!!!

Sho - I never watched Lost... I don't really watch TV much at all... but I hate when I watch a film and I'm not really sure what happened... I watched The Last Emperror years ago and didn't figure out that the little boy they kept flicking back to WAS the Emperror as a little boy ...

I'm also with you on the childless relatives and friends - I was talking to a friend yesterday who said her Dsis is planning to drive to the South of France with her newborn.. We both agreed that, 3 weeks after giving birth, the idea of driving for 24 hours to the south of France with a newborn baby in a car seat sounds like madness. One of those 'It's her first, is it? moments!! They'll all learn.

Mind you, I was the first time mum who took her PFB skiing at 7Mo!!

MM and Mitchell - Enjoy your hols and.. Mitchell - happy birthday!

Willabywallaby · 25/05/2010 09:29

Want to look at FB now, but have a patient see, how annoying!

Lucky2010 · 25/05/2010 13:20

Phew....presentation to 23 orthopaedic surgeons now over....Thank God!! It wasn't too bad although I was shaking like a leaf, even my buttocks were shaking!!!!

We were at New Milton in the New Forest, near Lymington. It was great and perfect as near the sea, and the forest and lots to do for families. We are going there for our family holiday in 3 weeks time!! (WW I think I sent you a brochure...Shorefields?)

Sho I have watched every single episode of LOST and still get confused!! DH and I will be watching it Friday night with my BIL and Sis as they are big fans too so we are having a LOST Finale night!! I will be able to discuss with you by the weekend .

LM the pics look lovely, really want a girly weekend there myself now, and since it's not far away..... But rounding up my friends is always tricky . Well done with the presentation!

Lucky2010 · 25/05/2010 20:39

WW As I'm sure you can well imagine, I am the 'organiser' amongst my group of friends. They tease me for it, but they also (apparently) love me for it. They bought me a lovely pressie and a nice card to say thanks for organising the weekend. They say that every group of friends has one person who pulls the group together and gets things organised.....maybe you could be that person with your friends!!! I can highly recommend it. All you need is a free weekend and most importantly, some willing DH's to have the kids while you swan off for a weekend of luxury!!! (or Grandparents will suffice!!).

OP posts:
Willabywallaby · 25/05/2010 21:01

Mmmm I get fed up of being the organiser!

Harimo · 25/05/2010 21:45

I'd be the organiser, but no-one ever listens to me.

LM - I think it takes a very special person to be an organiser and not just naff everyone off, TBH so BIG CHEER for you.

Willabywallaby · 25/05/2010 22:26

I used to be the one to organise our girl's nights out, we did it once a week/fortnight, but once I had kids too I thought the others could do their bit.......It rarely happens now . But we're all so busy, trying to find a night we can all do takes weeks sometimes.

Saying that I'm off to Ascot in few weeks with one of my friends, I started the ball rolling organising it, but when it was only her that could do it she took over.

And she's just arranged a spa day for another friend's hen night at a local hotel, unfortunately we were planning to stay as well, but it's the weekend of the Bournemouth airshow so they won't let us only book one night .

But LM your photos definatley make me want to check out that place, the brochure didn't really do it justice! so maybe I will get my organising hat on once more .

shonnomanom · 26/05/2010 22:02

Oh hm a drive to the south of france with a new born uh oh. I dont know that I am brave enough to attempt that with a 2yo never mind at 3wks!

And Oh lucky enjoy Lost Night! Its worth it. Have some hankies. I didnt need them but dp did! I didnt tell you that

We'v had a bit of sad news in our wee village this week. You might remember me mentioning moaning about the baby boom we are having this year.
Well one of the expectant mothers(currently mother of 4 and 2step) who is due in the early June went into labour on Saturday. Her baby boy had a good healthy heart beat right up to the last puch but unfortunately died shortly afterwards.
The mother has been feeling out of sorts recently but just put it down to late pregnancy exhaustion. But apparently the doctors think that the baby contracted something whilst in the canal.
The whole village is in shock at the sad news, especially with soo many babies due in this summer. Its devastating.

Hope everyone is healthy and happy
Sho x

Willabywallaby · 26/05/2010 22:29

Sho that's very . Makes me feel thankful for my 2 healthy boys (although one is complaining of tummy ache and the other has been enjoying the effects of calpol this afternoon ).

Harimo · 27/05/2010 21:05

Sho, that's really sad. So much sader (if it's possible) that the mum will have to deal with so many newborns

Like WW, it just makes me cuddle my two a little more tightly!

Nothing of any interest here. I've been up since 4am so off to bed NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky2010 · 28/05/2010 08:55

Sho that's very sad . I am eternally grateful for my wonderful family and my wonderful life .

The girls I went away with are my uni mates. There are 7 of us in total (denny being one of them). One of the girls lives in USA now. 4 of us still live within a 40 min drive of each other. We get together once a month and take it in turns to cook a meal at our house, so you only have to cook once every 4 months. Each month we all bring diaries and arrange the next month. If we don't, it's a nightmare trying to sort it out. We have 2 DH's who are shift-workers but we always manage to get a date. We've done it for about 12 years now. I love it. When I had PND it was one of the things that got me through. We also meet up with all the kids every few months.

Looking forward to 'LOST' tonight. Haven't had it spoiled at all. Will have tissues to hand. My sis and I are complete blubber-boxes so I'm sure we'll need them.

Hi LM!

Just a quickie from me.

Haribo and I have had our first 'shit, better take you to A&E' incident today - Haribo fell SMACK into the corner of a wall

I know that these things will happen, but still feeling a bit jittery about it!!

Willabywallaby · 28/05/2010 15:43

So how was the A&E trip, how did it happen? Hope you're all ok.

shonnomanom · 28/05/2010 18:02

So Lucky what did you think of Lost?

HM hope ds is ok now after his ordeal.

It is now officially birthday weekend here! I still cant believe dd will be 2 this weekend!! Where has the time went. So far it looks like we'r going to have 23 people in my parents garden on Sunday so fingers crosssed for good weather!

Oh and DP's car is back on the road!!!!!!!!! So happy not to have to coordinate our car use now!

Hope you all have a good weekend!
Sho x

Harimo · 28/05/2010 19:48

WW - thanks... It was fine and he is fine and I think it's just silly-mummy who has raised blood pressure. Isnt this what being a mum is all about, eh??? Can't believe you have managed the best part of 5 years without having to go [hats off emoticon] Haribo runs everywhere so fast, its amazing weve lasted this long, TBH!!

sho - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! It's amazing to think that they are 2 already!!! Will keep my fingers crossed for good weather for you!! Well done on sorting out the cars too!

DH is working this monday, so I'm at a bit of a loose end over what to do. I could go to the zoo, but it seems silly when it will be mental busy and we can go when it's quiet. Any suggestions???

Well, bed time for me. My two have taken to getting up at 4-5am (and then waking each other up!! gah!!) so early nights is the only way to cope!!!

Mitchell - Hope you are enjoying your holiday

Baiyu - hope you are feeling well!!

MM - Hope you are enjoying your holiday too.

Hello to everyone else!!!

shonnomanom · 30/05/2010 06:39

Oh its birthday day and iv been up since 530. Not by choice.
DD was up and insisted that I dont leave the room. So by the time she had falling asleep again I had already planned out what still needs to be done for today. Needless to say Iv done a fair bit so far and its only 630. Motherhood eh!

Proud mummy emocon for me this year. Iv baked and decorated a huge madeira cake (recipe courtesy of Flick) and 2 dozen cookies and cupcakes. I felt like Bree VanDeKamp yesterday, only not so glamerous or efficient

The last few days have been heavy showers on and off. Not too good for having a bbq, soggy grass and all. Todays forecast is highs of 12degrees with 100%cloud cover. We'l need to do a pitch inspection at about 12. Everyone is to come at 130 and we have the village on standby if neccessary.
Fingers crossed.

Think iv got time to put on the washine machine and watch Desperate Housewives before the birthday girl awakens..

Have a lovely weekend ladies.
Sho x

Ps. HM Dont think it matters where you go on monday , its gonna be busy regardless

Willabywallaby · 30/05/2010 08:37

Happy minisho!

Been awake since 5 here. We're at DH's aunt's for the weekend and I didn't want DS1 to wake the whole house. Now in the bath with DS2, I do like my iPhone!

Off shopping for wedding outfits later with DH's cousin just waiting for the shops to open .
