Hi girls, thought the old thread was in need of a spring clean, plus, I'm sure if my memory serves me right, one of us had our May-due baby in March (Macoco???) so someone is 2 soon....!

So what's your target weight then? And when's the final weigh in at work? I would still be rubbish........

shonnomanom · 24/11/2010 12:43

wow congrats lm, any motivation is good motivation, but shame on that women for flirting with ur dh.

im not even attempting to lose anything, any time iv tried since dd was born its ended in disaster ie me in tears or eating a whole cake to myself Blushor both. Unfortunatly I seem to have the compulsive eater gene with never works well with a diet.

Lucky2010 · 24/11/2010 19:49

Hmmmm, target weight?? Not sure. I keep moving the goal posts when I achieve my 'target' as it seems to be coming off fairly easily in the new WW plan of propoints. It was 10st 10lbs, but now I am 10st 6lbs, it's probably 10 stone or just under.

Final weigh in 21st Dec at work. Which is good cos it's stopping me from piggin out too much on Christmas food, IYSWIM. I have quite a few nights out and do'd planned so I'll be spinning in the garage as much as I can to balabce it out!!

Thanks guys

I have a lovely image of you in your garage LM Grin.

So are you going to WW classes or online?

How are the preggers ladies? And baiyu how old is DS2 now?

Off to see my bro at the weekend to introduce my boys to their new cousin. She is so tiny compared with what my bug lumps were.

Hope you're all well x

Lucky2010 · 25/11/2010 21:41

Going to meetings WW. There's nothing like the humiliation of being weighed in public to motivate you!

Have a lovely weekend at your bros.

Willabywallaby · 26/11/2010 07:11

Good on you LM for going to the meetings, I did slimming world once and for some it was just a social club (and weight loss was obviously not working). I have such herd instinct I feel the need to find my local class Blush. But in reality I think counting points would do my head in!

Lucky2010 · 26/11/2010 19:35

WW - I have done WW (weight watchers, not willabywallaby Grin) for about 10 years on and off. I'd never joined a meeting but just used to have all the books and do it myself. I used to begrudge paying someone to weigh me when I could do it myself at home. I do have pretty good motivation and will power, so I usually did OK.

However, now I am a convert. Having joined to give myself a final boost before final weigh in with arrogantman, I really have suprised myself at how much going to be weighed in public makes me try harder. I guess I feel that cos I'm paying the monthly fee (£19.99) I want to make it worth my while, IYSWIM. I sometimes stay for the meeting, it depends on how DD2 is. I was only planning to go to the meetings until Christmas, but I can see me doing January aswell to get back on track after Christmas.
I have honestly never been so focused!

ICounting points isn't really a faff once you're used to it either.

How nice to pop back in and see so much good news! Well done Pipoca and Mitchell and massive congratulations to Baiyu.

And to Lucky for the weight loss. I started "Shredding" before our September holiday and it worked well but I kept saying I'll start every Monday and then they come and go.... I am reasonably slim still and a size 12 but I have the baby weight on my tummy and I still only have dd so there is no excuse.

Hope everyone is well. Think of you often.

Lucky2010 · 29/11/2010 12:58

MM Hi! . Nice to hear from you. One of the MNers on the ww thread I'm on is sending me her (unwanted) Shred DVD!

I'll let you know how I get on!

Hello everyone,

I've been a bit absent lately what with the endless puking. I'm 15 weeks and still puking a couple of times every morning but feeling a lot less queasy during the day.
Unfortunately I had my triple screening which came back 1 in 68 (and therefore high risk) for Downs. The nuchal fold was fine and the nasal bone is present but the blood test result gave me a high risk so I had an amnio today. I get the results next Friday. I'm a bit nervous to say the least. It didn't hurt really, like an injection and was over fast. I saw the baby move aound on a scan afterwards and heard the heartbeat, which was reassuring. I've been told to have total bedrest now for 2 days and take it easy for 5 days.

How is everyone else? I've been on an unintentional diet with all the puking, weigh less now than when I got pg.

Anyone heard from harimo lately?

shonnomanom · 01/12/2010 21:45

Hi pipoca sorry to hear your still being sick, and that you came back a high risk for downs. I was also a high risk for downs when pg with dd but refused the amnio. One of the kids I work with has downs so I was well aware of what could have been in store for us. At the time my boss told me of her collegue who was told in both her pregnancies that the baby had a 1 in 2 chance of downs. Both kids are healthy as the next. I hope you get the result your after and are feeling better soon.
Harimo doesnt post on MN anymore but does have a wee peek now and again.

Snow Snow Snow Snow
We'v had bad snow here since friday night. Today is my 3rd day off work as a result and tommorrow is looking very likely for snow day #4. Thinking of you mitchell, I know your snow is ALOT worse than mine.
It doesnt help that dd is only happy to stand in the snow, she wont touch it and doesnt like to sledge, and given hat we dont have anyone we can visit within walking distance means that the days are looong.

This week was supposed to be an incredibly busy week ending with our annual pilgrimage to Newcastle, which has also been cancelled. boo hoo!

Sho x

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 01/12/2010 22:11

Pipoca I also know people who were given 'high risk' for Downs and had healthy babies. Thinking of you. XXX

Mitchell81 · 03/12/2010 07:35

Pipoca thinking of you during your wait to get results back and hope the sickness stops soon. Completely understand the sickness, I an getting sick twice a day everyday and feel sick all the time.
Kids haven't been at school since last wed so 7th day so far of no school. Fed up a bit now of all this snow. This mornings temp on our thermometer is -18'c so no chance of any melting soon. Have dh work dinner dance tomorrow so looking forward to getting dressed up although think I look pregnant already even though not put on weight but my stomach looks huge. Have proper scan and consultant appointment on thurs so looking forward to getting proper dates. Hope everyone is well. Nice to see old faces again.

shonnomanom · 08/12/2010 09:45

snow ice go away!!! yet another snow day1 plus with the amount of snow and ice on the roof my house is leaking Sad Sad Sad
I thought that putting up my christmas decorations would distract me for a while, but it just made me feel worse. I cant put out alot of the room decorations as my livingroom window is soo big the surrounding area is covered in towels and containers to catch the drips from the window frame. [pissed off]
You might have seen how central scotland has been gridlock with this new snow. Thats all around me. There are still cars and vans abandoned on the roads around here as they wont start. the ice on the roads is terrible. Oh how I wish it was June!

Hope everyone is well and hope all the unborns have pleasant hospital visits x

Willabywallaby · 08/12/2010 19:33

Thinking of you Sho and Mitchell in the snow.

And Pipoca with your results.

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 09/12/2010 08:55

Sho you poor thing. It really pisses you off after a while doesn't it? I remember feeling like that last year and we had nowhere near as much as you.

Hope it all melts soon...

Lucky X

baiyu · 09/12/2010 09:25

Thinking of you pipoca, hope all's well amd you feel better soon.

mitchell hope you stop puking too! Poor pregnant ladies Smile

Had a mad few weeks here bopping around the country (somehow made it to the highlands and back last week without getting stuck-just!) Went to see my Mum on my own with the boys so 12 hours+ on public transport each way, hard going! Will have to do that a lot in the next wee while. That's kinda why I've been a bit distant from MN recently (apart from madness of toddler and newborn!)- my Mum is very ill with cancer and not getting better. She's only 55. I'm finding it hard to stay focussed, hate living so far away. Breaks my heart, especially for the boys as she is such a loving granny. Now I have my MIL for lunch today who will do nothing but complain about HER life, aah!

Sho hope you get melted soon. My sis was stuck on the M8 last night, she's been trying to get back to Edinburgh all week, it's crazy.

lucky my gawd, just looked at that shred dvd, ouch! good luck. Well done with your weight loss, any good tips for self motivation? Grin

Right, off to bake a reluctant cake for the evil MIL. Hsve a great day everyone x

Willabywallaby · 09/12/2010 09:33

baiyu good luck with MIL. Well done with all that travelling, thinking of your Mum x

Willabywallaby · 09/12/2010 09:36

I've not been well the last week or so. Had a crazy weekend the one before last which triggered acute anxiety and insomnia. Been taking some sleeping tablets and have another busy end of week/weekend, but going to rely on a glass of red to chill me out...

(very unMN) hugs to all the FMLs

WeWishYouALUCKYChristmas · 09/12/2010 09:51

baiyu nice to hear from you chuck! Well done on the travelling with 2 littlies. You're very brave!
I'm so sorry to hear about your Mum, I remember when you first found out that she had cancer and told us all. Thinking of you lots and will remember you in my prayers.
I often bake a cake for MIL, just to keep up the brownie points!

Sorry to hear you have not been well WW. It's a crap time of year for all that. I currently have tonsilitis. Felt so rough yesterday. Just about managed to eat some dinner then threw it all back up. Feel better today. Just sore throat. Got some anti-biotics.

No snow here at all (sorry sho!!). Just very frosty and cold. Looks beautiful, very winter wonderland.

Weight loss still going very well, down to a size 10 now Shock Shock Shock!!!!!!!!
I'm 10st 3lbs, and actually thinking I could get below 10 stone now. I would like to me 9st 12lbs. Feels so amazing after 5 years of being over 11 stone after having DD1.
My only tip for motivation is that as it starts coming off (the weight) it makes me just wanna keep going as it's the best reward ever to jump on the scales and have lost 2 lbs or so. I never thought I could be a size 10 after having 2 kids Grin.

Keep warm and well ladies.

pipoca · 10/12/2010 14:15

Just got the all clear from the amnio and it's a girl!

shonnomanom · 11/12/2010 09:49

Congratulations on your healthy baby girl Pipoca!

Baiyu so sorry to hear of your mums ill health. Stay strong. You were very forunae to get about up here and not get stuck in the snow. Its been a nightmare, your sister will agree im sure.
there are still cars abandoned on the roads and is due to snow again next week. We had a huge thaw the last 2days. As of this morning our roof is now snow free, but the gutters are still solid. The leaking occurred in the bedroom as well as the livingroom, we'r just waiting on someone from the insurance to come out. My friend works in insurance and said we should get a claim to boher, lets hope our insurance company agrees.

We have dp's sisters 40th bday party tonight. If I was a superstitious person I would be saying that we shouldnt be going. The venue has had to be changed because of the snow. My dress, ordered 3weeks ago hasnt arrived yet, because of the snow. And dd has woke up today loaded with the cold. Hopefully it should be a good night. I do have a back-up outfit just in case.

Hope everyone is feeling healthy soon
Sho x

Willabywallaby · 11/12/2010 17:47

That's great new Pipoca.
