Hi girls, thought the old thread was in need of a spring clean, plus, I'm sure if my memory serves me right, one of us had our May-due baby in March (Macoco???) so someone is 2 soon....!

hope dd1 is feeling better in time for her show lucky

enjoy your hols ww

dd's toilet training is going ok thanks Lucky, we'r back into our normal routine since half term and she's handled quite well.
She tried her hardest to hold it in at our pre-5 group on wednesday which resulted in a few leaks but she eventually gave in and used the toilet.

She gave her dad a surprise in the bath the other night, I am so glad I wasnt home, although I would have loved to have seen his face when cleaning up the little brown fishes! Grin
Tonight will be our biggest challenge to date. Its the village halloween party in the village hall. Both my mum and I are working at it, and with the party music dd will get easily distracted. Should hopefully be ok.

Hope everyone is well
Sho x

OMG I was the proudest mummy EVER at the tap show. Poor DD1 had a chest infection and sounded really rough, but she managed two 3 hour shows, danced her socks off and made me cry with pride....she even caused my Dad to shed a tear!!! We weren't allowed to take any photos Sad.

Just back from Disney on Ice which was lovely. Photos on FB.

ww and mitchell happy hols!

shonnomanom · 28/10/2010 19:39

Well done Lucky Jr!
Baiyu glad you are enjoying your new family.

Not much happening here. The toilet training is having its good and bad days. more good than bad, which is good.

Happy Halloween everyone [hsmile]

Lucky2010 · 30/10/2010 18:47

Tried for 12 hours to get Take That tickets....no luck Sad.

The thing that's really pissed me off is how many other people seem to have got them with relative ease...after say....just 4 hours of trying....What did I do wrong?? Why am I so unlucky??!!!

Consoled myself with tickets to see FAITHLESS instead....which I genuinely think I will enjoy more...music wise. I'm sure it won't be as good a 'show' as TT, but I genuinely prefer their music to TT. I know that sounds like sour grapes but it's true Grin.

OP posts:
shonnomanom · 31/10/2010 09:54

Poor you Lucky, I hope you enjoy Faithless just as much. If its any consellation, I know lots of people you tried with no success all day as well.

As much as I like TT, I saw them as a kid and am happy with that, it was a hell of a lot cheaper back then as well!

Im taking dd to see the Optician today. She's been blinking excessively for a few weeks now and we think she is getting worse. Hopefully its just a wee habit she has developed and not anything to worry about.

Mitchell81 · 02/11/2010 10:31

Hello back from a wonderful holiday with some news that I am pregnant. Very early, 5 or 6 weeks. So not announcing on Fb. Due beginning of July or maybe late June will know more after 12 week scan for c section date.

Lucky2010 · 02/11/2010 21:01

Wow mitchell! That was quick!!

Congrats Grin.

Glad you had a good holiday.

pipoca · 06/11/2010 15:08

Hi ladies

Still puking my guts up and feel like shit, but 12 weeks now so hopefully a max of 4 more weeks of hell.

Congrats Baiyu, whats' DC2's name?
and congrats to Mitchell!!!!

baiyu · 09/11/2010 10:09

pipoca Sorry you feel rubbish, ginger tea really helped me. DS2 is Louis.

lucky I saw Faithless years ago at Glastonbury and they were amazing, enjoy! How's the new business going?

mitchell Congratulations! Great news.

~Sho how did optician go? Hadn't even occured to me to get DS's eyes checked, has anyone else been?

Had a really tough week behaviour wise with DS1 last week but things much better this week, think he was a bit ill and fed up with me BFing 24/7! DS2 doing well, 11.6lbs when weighed yesterday so putting on weight fine, mostly on the cheeks I think!

shonnomanom · 09/11/2010 10:48

hello
Pipoca hope your feelling better soon.

Baiyu Good to here ds2 is doing well. I think we are all having behaviour issues time and again with our 2yos!

Dd was a star at the optician. Although I think she got a bit hyper on the eye drops! Her eyes are completely fine so it looks like her excessive blinking is just a quirk hat she has just now.

I had asked my optician earlier this year when Dd should start getting her eyes checked. And was told that unless we suspected a issue then the summer before school is best, as they have a better knowledge of the different images that they have to identfy from a distance. And also their own vocabulary is far better than in the toddler years.
However, dd refused to talk to the optician directly. So he gave her a card with all the images on it and he held a flip book with the images in different orders and different sizes. From the other side of the room the optician would point to an image on his book and Dd had to match it on her card.

Hope this helps.

Sho x

Lucky2010 · 11/11/2010 22:40

I took DD1 to the optician when she turned 4, as advised by the head optician when I asked him. The woman she saw just kept tutting and saying she was a bit too young really Hmm. I have no concerns over her sight, but myself and all my immediate family wear glasses/lenses, and both my siblings wore glasses from a young age so I will keep getting her checked when I go every couple of years.

Baiyu That's good to hear about Faithless....very excited! MIL has even said she'll have the girls overnight so DH and I are very excited!!!
Thanks for asking about the business, it is going very well thanks. I am almost fully booked until Christmas. I have a bunch of 'regulars' already who just keep re-booking cos they find it so useful. I really enjoy being in the pool again and treating in water. The extra money is very nice too. It's going to fund an Acupuncture course I am going to do next Spring. £660 for a 6 day course!!! No NHS funding, so I have to pay for it all myself, but it is at least local to me. I might not even get the days as study leave and might have to take annual leave Hmm. All this so that I can offer a better service to NHS patients.....!

Sorry, bit of a rant there!

Full of cold this week so been feelin a bit rough. I hate not exercising now...think I'm addicted!!

I've also officially joined weight watchers to help me with my last 6 weeks of the challenge (part 2) with the guy at work. He's being so smug and arrogant, I just can't have him beat me!! I'm now at 10st 9.5lbs....the lowest I have been in 5 years since pg with DD1!!!!!

Hope you are all surviving the terrible twos?? DD2 not too bad at the moment, although obsessed with TV. I think DH must let her watch a lot on his days. It's all she wants to do....drives me insane. Even when I actually sit and play with her, she just wants to watch bloody Charlie & Lola!!!

Right, I better go to bed...just watching the end of 'Cocktail' recorded on Sky plus....it's soooooo dated!!!

Night night,

LM xx

I think he was 16 when he started in take that and is 36 now, but may be wrong...

Have been reading but not posting.

Had a great holiday in Tenerife. First time in ages on our own without grandparents , and first time self catering. All good!

Congrats Mitchell

pipoca hope sickness subsides soon.

baiyu hope you're having fun.

Just been out with some Mum's from nursery so bit tipsy!

LM hope all is well.

Sho how are the pants going? Hope all's well.

Hello to all those my alcohol blurred brain have forgotten x

Willabywallaby · 17/11/2010 10:02

Morning all, anyone else feeling a bit soggy?

shonnomanom · 17/11/2010 13:13

Hi
ww the pants is going well, thank you for asking. We have good days and bad days, fortunatly more good than bad.

I am soo tired this week. Iv slept in twice so far, I never sleep in. We had our first Brownie sleepover on Friday night, then on Sunday we had our march for Remembrance Day. And on top of it all Dd hasnt been sleeping too well recently as well. So I thinking of asking Santa for a few days in bed, just to recharge!

How is everyone's christmas prep going? We have a 30th and 40th birthday and a wedding as well as Christmas and the usual December Birthdays next month. The shopping has to be carefully planned this year. Infact, we'v teamed up for a few pressies ie my sis and I are getting joint pressies for my brothers 30th and for our grans christmas.

Hope everyone is well

Willabywallaby · 20/11/2010 07:36

Morning Ladies!

Do any of your LOs have a comforter?

I just thought I'd share about DS2's. He's always liked the feel of jersey material and when tiny would even pinch you as he fiddled with it. But over the last few months he's become rather fond of DH's PJ bottoms! They are jersey shorts and he calls them the Dowzells (that was what he first called trousers). DH has now surrendered them for the good of his youngest and I'm called upon in the middle of the night 'Mummy I can't find Daddy's Dowzells'.

Hope you all have a great weekend. ILs visiting this weekend so hopefully will yet the Christmas plan sorted!

Bear
shonnomanom · 20/11/2010 15:26

ww thats a cute story, at least a pair of trousers is easier to replace than a teddy. My dd has never attatched herself to anything, but all her younger cousins have. infact one cousin has 2 things, a soft doll and a teddy blanket thingy. And she wont go to sleep without them both!
Dd has got to have something, including her dummy, but said thing changes regularly.

sho x

Mitchell81 · 20/11/2010 17:56

DS2 has two blankets that he needs when he sleeps but they are not allowed to leave the house. (Mummys rules) Although they have been to dubai, Fuerteventura, Algarve and South Africa. (Well travelled blankets) Grin He only started needing them about a year ago.

Willabywallaby · 21/11/2010 07:57

He did start with a lovely turquoise blanket (bank, but then progressed to the dowzells. They do not leave the house, and go to be for a sleep when we are out. Been up since 6.20am when he was shouting for me to find them. A bit of a struggle since I went to bed at 1am after a rare night out.

Off to make some tea I think.

Lucky2010 · 21/11/2010 08:29

nice to see a bit of activity on our thread again Grin.

Well done LM!!!

I on the other hand did not go spinning tonight and had cake when I got home.

You are very good, but I am a little Envy at your willpower....

Lucky2010 · 23/11/2010 19:49

You just all need an arrogant polish man at work to keep telling* you there is no way you can beat him etc etc.....it is the best motivation.

(* Other nationalities of arrogant men work are available)

I'm also weighing in with 3 other school mums, one of whom I think has the hots for my DH (she's in process of splitting with her DH and flirts unashamedly around DH) so she is also giving me good motivation!!!
(She's on FB so again, please don't mention!)
