Hi girls, thought the old thread was in need of a spring clean, plus, I'm sure if my memory serves me right, one of us had our May-due baby in March (Macoco???) so someone is 2 soon....!

I was a bit drunk after a BBQ at nursery, but then was sick twice in the night, first time I thought it was the booze, an hour later I felt not. So taken the day off work. Bit concerned might puke on the dual carriageway on the way to work. Sorry if TMI!

Willabywallaby · 23/07/2010 08:36

Got to page 3 on your thread Baiyu and so far very interesting.

I once a thread on AIBU because I didn't know where else to put it, so got flamed for that. Posters go there for a fight IMO. I generally only read!

baiyu · 23/07/2010 12:34

Yep, I've bowed out of that one for now! It was just a bit of a rant about our disposable culture and ignoring inconvenient truths and not meant to damn anyone. Probably not very good at wording such things, oops. I'll just let it go, more important things to worry about! Took my mind off things a bit yesterday anyway!

baiyu · 23/07/2010 16:50

WW sick in the morning, eh?

Willabywallaby · 23/07/2010 17:20

No at about 3am and 4 am, and a bit the other end! We are very careful, but I have had swollen boobs and tummy twice recently, but it was only my period . Did make think though since that's the pregnancy symptoms I get. Don't normally do sick, not even when preggers.

shonnomanom · 23/07/2010 22:35

So sorry about your mum Baiyu, You sound positive about it which is good. Will be thinking of you and your family.
I think the word 'crikey' is all I have to say on your aibu thread.

Dd is no where ready for an sort of potty training any time she looks interested she changes her mind,

I think dd is going to have a black eye in the morning.
Just after we ate dinner this evening she went through to her room, next thing she's crying, she had dropped her toy cat and couldnt reach it. We think in her attempt to reach the cat she has slipped and banged her eye, it was looking red and puffy around the outer socket iykwim

We just heard today that our friends dad had a double stroke at the start of the week, he's only 49yo. Its too early still to know the full extent of the damage, his speech is slurred and he can walk slightly but with assistance but is having difficulties manipulating his right side.
Hopefully the fact that any day now he will become a grandfather for the first time will be a good boost to his fight.

On a lighter note I am now officially on my summer holidays!!!! Dp finishes work in the morning then hopefully (fingers crossed and touching wood) mother nature will give us a chance over the next fortnight to ttc without our work schedules and 2yo getting in the way iykwim

Over and out

Hey FMLs

Bayiu I am so sorry to read about your mum's news. I hope she has a full and speedy recovery.

Interested in your AIBU thread. I tend to steer away from AIBU myself as they usually enrage me. Well done though - I thought it was a very articulate and truthful argument from you, and one I agree with.

All ok here. Busy with life but think of you all often.

Lucky2010 · 26/07/2010 23:09

sho I hope your friends Dad is OK. I used to work on a stroke unit (14 years ago!) and people can make a good recovery in the first couple of weeks. The fact he's walking is a good sign. Fingers crossed.

Just had a really stressful weekend at my folks. I made the mistake of pushing the buggy with one hadn while DD2 walked when out shopping Friday and I have really flared my shoulder pain up all over again. I'm so with myself! The pain is stopping me sleep at night and I'm so grumpy from pain and tiredness.
The girls just seemed to be particularly challenging for some reason. They both really played up last night, taking it in turns every 15 mins or so (they were in different rooms at Mums). DD1 wet the bed...has never done this since nightime training over a year ago. DD2 was distressed about something, a bad dream maybe? She wouldn't let me leave her side and she ended up in bed with me ( for LM!!!) My Mum is normally really good with them but even she seemed exasperated by them and kept saying 'no wonder DH feels like he does if this is what he has to put up with'!!! They are not bad girls, they are just normal challenging 2 and 4 yr old!!

Anyway, I'm off to bed now. Back in the car tomorrow for 3 hrs up to Denny and her brood for a few days.

Thanks all for the kind words about my mum, it really does mean a lot. Chemo starts a week tomorrow and she's sounding quite upbeat about it all so that's all good.

hi
just a quickie while dp and dd are out playimg im the garden. We'r currently at my aunts in manchester - horrible weather mostly.

Baiyu dd is being really fussy most days just now, i really wish she would snap out of it! She is currently surviving on Innocent smoothies for kids, cold meat, mini sausages, bread sticks, yoghurts and toast. She gets really excited at meal times but when it actually comes to the act of eating she goes balistic!!

Not amused that at 26yo I have suddenly developed travel sickness. not looking forward to the trip home on monday

hope everyone is well

Sho x

Lucky2010 · 03/08/2010 08:51

Sho hope your trip home was OK. DD2 is fussy at the mo too, and I don't give her anything else if she won't eat what's offered. She went 5 nights last week without a proper dinner . DD1 was the same at this age and did in fact go through a spell of only eating baked beans for 3 weeks. It is a phase and it will pass, but I would suggest not making lots of alternatives and if she won't eat just get her down, don't give her any attention (i.e. don't show her she has wound you up) and carry on with your jobs!! She will soon realise that she's the one who's suffering. Good luck, it's pants I know.

My girls were absolute fuckwits devils last night. (sorry!). They both went to bed fine, then screamed from 10:45-12am. DH and I were at our wits end. They were just winding each other up. There was no reason for it. I still don't know what happened but I was so pissed of cos feeling a bit rough at the moment (just a cold) and wanted an early night.

I keep finding DD2 really challenging, and wondering how on earth I coped with DD1 when she was this age and i had a newborn. Then I remember that I had PND!! Jesus, I'm not suprised DH is so low.

Off to superbros next week, for a week (yay!).

So thats my summer holidays over and done with for another year. Back to work on Monday for a full & busy week before the school starts back the following Monday. What a quick summer it has been this year.

Iv had a spring clean this weekend and have dramatically reduced the conents of my wardrobe. My drawers now open and close easily and the clothes hanging up at visable and reachable now. 10 Binbags of clothes alone! Had to face facts that im never going to be a size 12 again so I got rid of all my pre pregnancy clothes.

Going to visit my parents today, havent saw them for 2 weeks due to holidays.

Dd is poorly today. She woke from her nap yday with a temp of 38.4c, by the time bed time came she was at 39c and is still that. She has no other symptoms.

I gather that everyone is uber busy these days as the thread has been very quite all week.
Hope your all happy and healthy

Sho x

Willabywallaby · 09/08/2010 07:48

Wow, Scotland does it all very early!

Sho Well done for the clear out, I'm such a squirrel and have clothes from when I was at school (17 years ago!).

I hope DD gets better quickly, we've been lucky with fevers with DS2 and not really had many.

Yes been busy here. Hope you're all having a fun summer.

Off for school shoes for DS1 today, don't want to leave it til the last minute rush, just hope he doesn't have a growth spurt.

monkeysmama · 09/08/2010 21:13

Hey all

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello so our thread goes back on my list where I can see it!

LM have a greta time at Superbros.

shonnomanom · 09/08/2010 23:06

aaarrrggghhhh i had just wrote a really long post and then hit something in this bloody laptop and the screen changed!!! Angry

ww our schools break for summer at the end of due and go back roughly the 3rd week in august.

dd lost her fever and her appetite and thirst in the same day! I was I could read her mind to find out what is actually going on with her!

Have spent this evening trying to build a bookcase. It arrived in a battered box. The screws were loose in the box(all accounted for), parts that come stuck together now need to be glued back together and dp will need to drill in holes where there should be screw holes. Not Amused. I dont normally complain to companies but I felt that this one deserved it.

Hope all are well

Lucky2010 · 10/08/2010 20:30

currently living it up at Superbros. All is well although for some reason his tolerance of my children doesn't seem to be what it usually is. They are good kids, not naughty, not badly behaved, just lively 2 and 4 year olds. He seems to be a bit Hmm with them this time. Feels a bit uncomfortable!

Ah well, off to the Isle of Wight tomorrow to suss out holidays for next year!!

Hope you are all well,
