Excellent

hotterpotter · 13/01/2010 22:17

Although now I am going to be singing Buffy songs all night...

oopsandbabycoconut · 13/01/2010 22:19

Boo! can you tell re-reading Roald Dahl isn't as interesting as I thought it would be.

CaptainCaveman · 13/01/2010 22:40

yay, i made it onto new thread with only a handful of posts before me! Finally wrestled MY laptop off dh and caught up with other thread...

Ds1 declared this evening that Oliver had "broken his willy". Ds1 was naked and O found T's willy most fascinating and kept trying to grab it. I left the room for 2 mins, heard much giggling followed by "mummy, Oliver has broken my willy!". . I think the little mite just pulled a little too hard . All well though, no need to ring social services!!

No1 fully understand what you're saying. Having been the person struggling with unresolved issues, it's really difficult to break free from your 'crutches' and stop hurting those you love. This may not be what your dh is doing, so please ignore me if this is not the case. For me, I hated the hurt in my life, and I hated also what I was doing to survive to control that hurt - for me it was bulimia. It took me many many years to realise that I was hurting others and to realise that I needed help to stop hurting myself AND to heal my past. Hmm, not much help am I!? I guess what I'm trying to say is, is he receptive to a suggestion of thinking about how his own memories of being parented might be impacting on his life now?

Probably just rambling! Feel free to ignore above x

CaptainCaveman · 13/01/2010 22:43

Took me 15 minutes to post that! Knackered and going to bed v shortly. Dh swearing at Mario Kart (again) . Worse than ds1 is!!!

miamla when my sis was pg with dc2 she was farking HUGE at 8 weeks, in mat clothes etc. Luckily only a singleton in there, just tummy muscles shot to crap from first pg!!

hotterpotter · 13/01/2010 22:45

Hi cece

Bye cece

Don't take it personally but bed time for me as alarm set for 6am . Still, only one more wine-free evening until weekend

Nice flag TS

morning ladies, nice and early start again here but am being a lazy slattern and deliberately not rushing to get to work, due to the ice and snow obviously

ds1 currently watching monsters vs aliens, ds2 climbing all over the furniture trying desperately to reach the cat so he can yank his tail!

Tea? Coffee? Juice?

GladioliBuckets · 14/01/2010 07:49

Morning ladies. Kaffee and kuchen and kugelhopf and gluhwein and pfepffernusse. Let's go Austrian.

hotterpotter · 14/01/2010 08:12

Coffee then more coffee with a side order of matchsticks here please, despite a reasonable night my face feels all wrong today and I can barely get my eyes open. Luckily there is no one else in from my team yet so I can come round in peace

Despite a fresh covering of snow last night the roads are surprisingly good here in West Yorkshire this morning, well my bit anyway (we are the biggest and best dontcha know)so I hope it is easing off everywhere

springaporesling · 14/01/2010 08:52

Vielen dank Buckets!

Hotter do you think you can make it last till April - would love ds to see some snow on the Dales when we come! Hope you can still manage another meet up. DB's wedding is at Malham Cove. We're renting a cottage nearby and a car too I think although this worries me as I haven't driven for 3 years.

Thanks for your comments on super clingy babies. That's what I love about mn at least you know you aren't the only one!

Miamla spring weddings are lovely if only for all the beautiful spring flowers - I always wanted to be a florist!

No1 want to respond to you but on iPhone again so will do so when have more time.

Miamla · 14/01/2010 09:02

we've had rain!!! and it has washed away alot of the snow
i've got doc's appt booked for next thursday, DS asleep and i'm coffee'ed up
so despite a horrible night with DS waking loads (but at least it isn't every night now), its a good morning!

thanks for all your encouraging words re getting married sooner rather than later. cyteen, i know i can redesign what i had in mind to allow for a bump but it was going to be a corsetted tight waist affair. not wholly practical for a bump! its not like i've been designing it for years though so a change would be ok.

I'm going to start looking seriously for a venue today. Right, all those who wanted to help vicariously with the planning (hots, i believe you were one of them!), venue needs to be relaxed, informal, cheap, licensed for civil ceremony and within a reasonable distance to cardiff with good train/road links to London.

not essential that cardiff is close but if we do, we can have an amazing choir! There's 80 men from a little valley in Wales who have the most amazing voices. DP's grandfather is their art director so we get family rates. They make me cry every time i hear them because they're so amazing but it would be perfect to have them sing at our wedding!

buckets thanks, yes, i know it needs to be for us but we're really not sure what we want. i know its unlikely but i don't want to look back in a few years time and regret making decisions i made about it all. DP suggested running away to gretna green....very tempting!!

its going to have to be full steam ahead and i need your help girls!!!! you're all going to wish you suggested after DC2 at this rate!

Miamla · 14/01/2010 09:15

springa sorry, crossed with you earlier....right, that's you down on the list to design the bouquets then

steaknife · 14/01/2010 09:27

Yawn [all my own fault emoticon]
Stayed up doing important stuff fannying about till 2, Iz woke at 5.30 but went off after an hour so gave me an extra couple of hours grace.

Pancakes and jam here - yumm

luckoftheirish · 14/01/2010 09:51

morning,

spring wedding Miamla sounds wonderful ..

Hugs No1.. echo what the other lovely ladies having been saying.. when i was having issues with dh the advice on here was amazing and really helped xx

well we have snow ice and fog here .. hoping the thaw comes soon.. another full day with the monster but we are getting out for a big walk now and hoping to pop into a friends this afo.. massive cabin fever

Miamla · 14/01/2010 10:14

hi loti, know what you mean about cabin fever! think DS has got it too because when DP said goodbye to him this morning, DS went off and found his own coat!

GladioliBuckets · 14/01/2010 10:14

Miamla How about a Town Hall civil ceremony and function room in a big ancient pub at walking distance? Some Town Halls are stunning even in small towns. Somewhere borderish near Sazz could be good, Ledbury is a stunning town centre, as is Ludlow but prob too far North. Hay on Wye?

GladioliBuckets · 14/01/2010 10:19

Sawday is a good place for inspiration too.

Miamla · 14/01/2010 10:24

hmm, hadn't even considered a town hall but you're right, there are a couple near us that are pretty cool

i'm off to google the places you've mentioned! thank you

GladioliBuckets · 14/01/2010 10:56

Hello Bristol Zoo wedding!

Miamla · 14/01/2010 11:01

BUCKETS!!!!! what a fantastic idea!!!! i wouldn't be using public transport to get there though!!
i'm off to call them to get prices and dates

GladioliBuckets · 14/01/2010 11:14

The prices are on the website on the Adibe downloads I think. Pretty £££.

Miamla · 14/01/2010 11:33

DP likes the idea
you may have got a winner here Buckets!

GladioliBuckets · 14/01/2010 12:01

Bit cheaper and more quirky options:
Ceremony and reception in this village and wedding weekend in a gypsy caravan.here

Lovely place to stay and there are a few licensed venues around the village (see Wilts.gov website.)
