He is much better today - no swelling or bruising so far so hopefully none.
Lol at Mr Bump
What are you up to today Bramshott?

Bramshott · 20/12/2009 19:15

We are being fairly festive - our next door neighbours invited us for lunch, and had 13 people for lunch and free-flowing wine - hurrah! And then just a short stagger back over the wall [hic]! Should really be putting the kids to bed now but can't summon up the energy . . . !

How about you?

oooggs · 20/12/2009 21:23

hello - 5 sleeps to Santa!!! (don't you just love 6 year olds )

Decs are now up!! Blimey I am running out of time most presents wrapped and I am shattered all ready

Katy - ds1 fell off the bed when we were on holiday once and started bleeding from his mouth, I was more concerned about the carpet blimey sound like a really evil mummy these last few posts

Bramshott - hope you managed to get the gilrs to bed in your drunken state

sol - hope you are having a great time

I won't recieve a single Christmas present (neither will dh). Everyone buys for the kids and not us (downside of having lots of children) and dh and I don't buy for each other!

But he and the dcs are getting me birthday presents well to be exact, I went into a local shop, saw something I really liked and dh said to put it back. So it is reserved behind the desk and when dh and ds1 go in on Tuesday, the owner, (who I know) is going to put it back out on display and 'guide' ds1 to choose it. Dh is also buying my present from him after Christmas but should make mn-ing easier .

StealthPolarBear · 21/12/2009 07:10

Bramshott, I saw your post on FB re no power- what a pita. Hope you are ok.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

We had a surprisingly great weekend with the outlaws Got back yesterday afternoon after a scary drive in the snow - took 3 hours rather than 2, but nowhere near as bad as some people.

Now off work for the next 2 weeks as is dh which is just fab. Unfortunately I am once again feeling awful. I have such an awful sinus headache it is throbbing Going to get a docs appointment as cannot feel like this on Friday.

Sorry for whinge!

StealthPolarBear · 23/12/2009 08:34

Dooby, sorry you've been feeling bad, glad it seems to be going

Hi SOL, sorry you're ill. My dad used to suffer from sinus headaches and I remember them being awful Although he's a man so yours probably seems to others to not be as bad
Glad you had a good weekend.
How's your mum doing by the way?

Bramshott · 23/12/2009 10:02

Supposed to be going to my brother's carols in Windsor this afternoon / evening but honestly don't know if I will get out. Anyone in the S East and know what the roads are like generally?!

StealthPolarBear · 23/12/2009 13:04

Doobydoo · 23/12/2009 13:04

StealthPolarBear · 23/12/2009 13:20

Sexonlegs · 23/12/2009 17:15

Bramshott, hope you got to the carols ok.

Dooby, get you on the drink already!

Feel a lot better today thank God.

Thanks for asking after Mum. She is doing really well. She will have more chemo in Jan and Feb and then not sure what will happen, as the medical insurance company will only pay for it until then (the drug she is on is not available through the NHS as it is too expensive ) So, we shall see. But it has shrunk the tumours so far.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

xx

Bramshott · 23/12/2009 18:25

I didn't try to go to the carols in the end - I think I would have got there OK, but would have spent the whole time worrying about the journey home so I don't think we would have enjoyed it. There has been quite a lot of melting snow today, but I bet it's starting to freeze again now.

Hoping to get over to celebrate my goddaughter's 4th birthday tomorrow (the one having the chemo). The girls are too snotty to take for fear of infection, but hoping I can go by myself, and then collect the turkey on the way back.

CaptainDippy · 23/12/2009 20:42

Popping by quickly.

SOL, so glad that your mum seems to be responding well to the treatment. Thinking of her.

It is lovely to see my beautiful girls so excited about Christmas; makes me feel better as I am feeling emotional and really rubbish right now

OP posts:
Sexonlegs · 24/12/2009 11:48

Hope you are ok Dippy. xx

I am stressed. The house is a bomb site and I am cooking for 12 tomorrow Funny how dh doesn't feel the same!

Hope everyone is ok and hasn't strangled anyone with tinsel!

Eddas · 24/12/2009 21:15

SOL, glad to hear your mum is doing well

Dippy, hope you're ok {{{hugs}}}}

I just wanted to pop buy and wish you lovely ladies and your families a very happy christmas

oooggs · 24/12/2009 21:26

Happy Birthday to me - it has been a hectic day - we were 'iced in' in bloody Cornwall - I now hate having a Christmas Eve birthday as it gets swallowed up with children things - and I am knackered but still loads to do

Anyway - Merry Christmas to my favourite mumsnet ladies

AngeG · 24/12/2009 21:44

Hello

Happy birthday oooggs, shame your birthday gets swallowed up, could you have an 'unbirthday' in the new year sometime?

Dippy - Hope you're ok?

SOL - Good to hear your mum is doing well

Jake and Izzy are both still awake and are very excited Hope they settle soon as I want to get a reasonable nights sleep.

Izzy is on antibiotics for an ear infection causing a perforated ear drum and I have the biggest cold sore ever Bloody typical haven't had any for ages and then get one for over Christmas. On a brighter note I went to the hairdressers this morning and had it coloured (a reddy brown sort of colour) and had a fringe cut in haven't had a fringe for years and years...am hoping it makes me look younger [fhmmm]

Anyway enough about me, hope you all have a fantastic Chistmas.xxxx

Sexonlegs · 24/12/2009 21:55

Evening lovelies

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OOOGGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you manage to enjoy it.

Hi Eddas

Ange, lovely to see you Poor Izzy and her ears Hope she is recovered soon. Also hope your cold sore clears soon. Your hair sounds lovely. Must also say thank you very much for your Christmas card - really kind. We really must get together in the New Year seeing as we live so close!

Hope everyone is ok, and not too stressed.

We went to the local animal shelter this afternoon and walked another dog. I have fallen in love with him; a labrador/retriever cross called Harry. I cried when we left Feel a bit sad still knowing he won't have a home for Christmas. ind you, I am sure he will be snapped up quickly, as he is just lovely

Anyway, on that note, I would like to wish you lovely ladies a fabulous Christmas.

Lots of love Claire xxxx
