Evening

Apologies for my absence. I am addicted to FarmVille!

Sorry to hear there are poorly babes atm; hope everyone is better by Christmas.

Had a fab night out on Saturday night with the Year 2 Mums. There were only 7 of us, but it was such a laugh. Had a good lie in on Sunday thankfully .

Finally got our new hob fitted yesterday after 2 weeks of cooking on a gas camping stove! It is lovely.

Been to K's toddler group Christmas party today which was excellent. It was 3 pounds per child, and they put on a magician/balloon man, a maraca jacks music session, and then they all got a present from Father Christmas. They also each got a cup and a little soft toy.

Off to bed shortly, as am knackered. K was up twice last night and dh was up at 6 and is away tonight and back v late tomorrow night. Cannot wait for the week to end, as after this dh is off for 2 whole weeks!!!!

Sorry for the ramble!! Hope everyone is ok.

xx

Hello!!!!
I see you still remember me!!

All going well here, POTC is right and I have been manic lately so no time to check in but think of you all often. Have cut my hours slightly as I had a very demanding baby who wanted carrying constantly (which is tricky when I also have 6 other children (inluding my own!) aged 9,7,6,5,4 and 2 to entertain, observe and do planned activities with!) with a mother who whenever I tried to discuss that the baby was being clingy and crying and what the problem might be and what I could do to help seemed to take is as me saying her pfb was a difficult baby and I didnt like her. I can deal with a demanding child if I have a parent willing to work with me or a difficult parent if they have a problem free child but I decided both together was just too much so gave her notice and I am so much happier since I did!
Am still working over 30 hours a week though and paperwork on top of that so still pretty busy!

OMG I've just noticed the biscuit face, how long has that been there?!

Maia seems to have skipped a few years and turned into a teenager since her 9th birthday and is full of stroppiness and attitude. She has a slightly older friend (whos mum is my new drinking friend!) who she goes into town with on a saturday morning and apparently sits and chats in Costa without buying anything and wanders round Claires and Primark!! But in some ways its nice and we're getting on better as we can talk more and the relationship is changing slightly to more of a friendship than mum and child iyswim. When shes not driving me mad that is!!
Nathan is doing brilliantly at school now and has just gone up a reading level to 'Gold Star' books which apparently is the highest level they have in the infants! I'm so proud and so relieved after all the worry he gave me before. He is struggling slightly with the writing side of things however, not badly but slightly below where he'd be expected to be for his age and so has 10 mins every morning in a small group with the Senco who is trying to establish why there is such a big gap between his reading and writing levels. jamie has dyslexia so obviously that has crossed my mind and I've mentioned it to his teacher but so far they don't think its that. It could just be that hes not quite so interested in writing as he is reading.
Dylan was being absolutely lovely but the last week or 2 seems to have turned into the devil child and is having tantrums, being stubborn, destructive, argumentative and generally a little sod rather testing!! He has been poorly though and hac now had a massive flare up of his eczema so probably down to that (I hope!). Toilet training is going brilliantly though. We left it late as he's known what to do for some time but preffered to wear a nappy as it meant he didn't have to stop what he was doing to have a wee!! But 2 weeks ago he decided he wanted his Thomas pants on and has not looked back since! No accidents for about week now I think although he did try and wee standing up at the potty earlier which got a bit messy!!

Have skimmed through the thread but nothing before this one. How is everyone? Any big news I've missed?

SPB - did I know you now have an A as well as a T?! I knew you were pg but can't believe 9 months have gone by already!! When how who what where?!?!

Pesha · 16/12/2009 22:51

OMG its just taken me 45 minutes to read thread and then post that!!
Although I did have to go up to Dylan midway as he woke up asking for cream on his arm but still, this is why I don't come on here often, MN eats time!!!

elkiedee · 17/12/2009 01:27

Good to see you Pesha, wow at you having a 9 year old.

Nuttygirl also had a second baby in August.

Bramshott · 17/12/2009 09:32

Still keeping late hours Elkie!!

I am feeling like the worst parent in the world (doesn't usually take much!) - N was feeling sick and listless this morning, but not actually sick, no temperature etc, and I'm afraid I sent her to school . I have such a complicated day today with last presents to get, work to finish off, and O to take to the pre-school Christmas party (her first visit there!) that I really can't have her at home. Fully expecting to get a call from school later though .

CaptainDippy · 17/12/2009 11:41

NOT worst parents in the world, Bramshott!!! We've all done it. Juggling everything is so hard to do. Do everything you need to do as quick as you can before (if) the school calls. Like you said, she wasn't actually sick. Don't beat yourself up - you have the hardest job in the world. xx

Thank you for the update Pesha- glad you are keeping yourself busy

Life is going at 100 MPH in DippyLand .... can't stop ........

Bramshott · 17/12/2009 13:34

Thanks Dippy . Feeling a bit better - they haven't called yet, and they would have if she was really ill wouldn't they?!

Sexonlegs · 17/12/2009 13:49

Bramshott, I echo what Dippy has said. If O is ill, they will call you. Hope you don't get the call though. xx

Pesha, lovely to see you and to hear all your news.

All good here. Just been to check on K as she was v quiet. She is in the lounge and has a doll on each side of her, and she is "reading" to them!! She also has them coverered in a blanket and is patting them. I welled up!!

Hope all are ok. Need to go.xx

Pesha · 17/12/2009 13:50

Bramshott - definitely not worst parent. I have opposite problem at moment, Maia was fine yesterday morning, no mention of feeling ill, then I got a phone call about 1 o'clock to say she was feeling sick and had slight temp so could i go and get her which I did and she was absolutely fine for the rest of the day. We had a mini party for one of my mindee's birthday and she was running around dancing and eating crisps and cake with no mention of being ill at all. Sent her to school this morning and had another, rather snotty, phone call saying she was feeling sick and had temp again so needed to go home and if she has a temp again tomorrow then not to send her! And again she seems absolutely fine and doesn't feel hot to me at all, I think they need a new thermometer cos I'm pretty sure theres sod all wrong with her!!

StealthPolarBear · 17/12/2009 13:54

Hi everyone, lovely to see Pesha! Your life sounds hectic Yes, I have a 13 week old.
Bramshott, sounds like one of those slightly off colour moments that you just need distracting out of Hope she's OK for the rest of the day.
Grr to school Pesha that's ridiculous.
SOL, K sounds lovely
T is at nursery, I am missing him so much DH and I are both off but we don't tend to do as much with him as he does at nursery. Still it's snowing, I just want him home.

StealthPolarBear · 18/12/2009 12:50

Bramshott · 18/12/2009 16:13

School has broken up, we have snow, and we're making mince pies - whooo-hooo! It doesn't get much better than that!! (that's me and the girls, with our festive hats on !)

runnyhabbit · 18/12/2009 16:21

Hello

I will catch up soon, but for some miraculous reason, my very own social life has reappeared, so am making the most of it. So lovely to see events on the calender with my name next to it, instead of the boys

mwahhhhh!!!

oooggs · 18/12/2009 20:34

sol - she is practising for twins

runny - thats good - I seem to have a slight social life as well

Bramshott - not bad parent, if J is alive and breathing then he goes to school

Pesha - that is crazy - bloody school

hey dippy - how you diddling?

Katy - I also get guilty moments when dts are at nursery

No more school runs for 2 weeks

Only 5 days to go (well backs) until dh is off for 9 days in a row!!!!!!!

runnyhabbit · 19/12/2009 08:59

Morning ladies

It really is lovely to see al ot of the old faces back. Pesha - you must have the patience of a saint, there is no way I could childmind!

Me, dh and another couple went to the Jamie Oliver italian ion Cardiff last weekend, and it was lush I'm suprised I can remember it though, considering the amount of alcohol that was consumed afterwards Fab night though.

We'll be starting potty training this week. W is now telling us when he's done a wee, and seeing as I'm off for 2 weeks it makes sense to do it.

x

Sexonlegs · 19/12/2009 09:06

Morning all

Good to see you Runny. Good luck with the potty training. Dh is keen that "we" start K as he and I are both off now for 2 weeks. I am not convinced though as she doesn't tell us when she has done a wee, or in fact show any signs of readiness! As I am cooking for 12 on xmas day, methinks I may wait!

Oooggs, pmsl at practising for twins!

Pesha, great to see you.

Erm... brain gone.

Off to the outlaws for the weekend; back on Monday.

Have a good weekend lovelies. xx

StealthPolarBear · 19/12/2009 11:30

morning sol
hoping to make lasagne & christmas shortbread this afternoon

StealthPolarBear · 19/12/2009 21:18

T has a split lip It was hyper hour and he was running round upstairs, he tried to jump on our bed but missed. I thought he hit his face against the bed leg but DH thinks he put his tooth through it Lots of blood and some swelling and bruising And lots of tears.

Bramshott · 20/12/2009 11:18

Oh No Katy - it's awful when that sort of thing happens isn't it? And anything mouth / head related always bleeds so much!! I remember when N fell off her chest of drawers (don't ask!) at bedtime when she was about 2, and her head bled loads and we tried to put her to bed with a bandage round it a la Mr Bump!

Hope he is feeling a better today (he will probably recover more quickly than you will!)

Thank you all for your kind messages last week when I was worried about sending Niamh to school. I PMSL at Oooggs "if J is alive and breathing then he goes to school"! I think tbh she is/was just exhausted, with a bit of a cold.
