Liking it Dippy!

How is everyone?

I am knackered. Slept terribly last night as K was coughing; coughing again tonight I hoped she might have some Tixylix night-time cough but she refused!

Have been to B's Nativity Play this evening. It was really good. B was a bit naffed off that she didn't have a speaking part though, esp as year 2 is the last year they do a nativity play. Hey ho. I am sure her time will come!

Spoke to dh tonight. The funeral was today, and he said it was heart-breaking. In fact, he was sobbing down the phone It hit hard as the thought of children dying before parents is not something you think about. Made me cry that's for sure.

Anyway, really need to get to bed, as I think it might be a crap night.
Night all. xx

elkiedee · 10/12/2009 00:54

That's so sad SOL.

Wish me luck, C just woke up for his late night feed and is asleep on my lap but will no doubt wake up when I try to return him to his cot. Last night he fell asleep in dp's arms though and spent at least a couple of hours in his own cot rather than our bed.

CaptainDippy · 10/12/2009 11:01

Oh SOL, that is heart-breaking Prayers for all involved. x

afternoon everyone
SOl, that's so sad, hope your dh is ok.
dh off so having a sorting out day

POTC · 10/12/2009 18:40

Evening favourite few

It's all fun here

'WE' have 8 chickens apparently. Pointed out to Andy that as he doesn't live here and only comes over once or twice a week for a few hours, plus I'm buying the food and looking after the clucking things it doesn't really count as being a we and more a me . It gets better too - we collect another 8 or 10 on Saturday

Matthew's school play starts tomorrow, he is a shepherd (also silent SOL!) in the nativity with 7 of his classmates and the rest are penguins! We've been subjected to the penguin songs for weeks ......

You know sometimes weird memories pop into your head? I'm now not sure I've spelt shepherd right had one of those weird memories about learning calligraphy writing at school and completing a rather impressive piece of art only to be told I'd spelt shepherd wrong

Have had my hair chopped....is rather short and I'm still trying to decide whether I like it or not!

SOL - so sad that dh's friends are having to go through this I always think it really makes you stop and think about what you have.

I've been thinking about what I have a lot lately, it's almost 2 years since my car accident and receiving the lovely gifts from you ladies. At the weekend we will be decorating the hosue and my bauble tree will be going up once more to remind me how fab you all are

New job going well, have to confess it was part of the reason for my absence, first new job was not so good but I left and am now Office Manager doing 16 hours over 3 days, school hours. I like the work and I get to go into school to help one day and take Joe to toddlers another day so it's made family life much nicer. Earning less than half (almost 1/3) of what I was but we're happier and that's far more important.

Went to lunch with the guys from my old work last week, I'm still keeping in touch and catching up on the gossip - it's really nice to be able to stay involved even though I'm not there anymore.

I think we're having a big family christmas - my brothers are both away at girlfriends' houses so us and my dad are going to be with my gran and my aunt & uncle and we'll do one course each. We did it last year and it worked really well. Hoping we can plan it for around 5pm as it worked much better to give boys lunch and then have christmas dinner for, well, dinner!

Anywhoooooo, it's charity shopping night in town so I'm off to that, then I have to wrap Matthew's pressie for his teacher or I'll forget!!! Have embrassed her religious nature and realised she's actually the fabbest teacher I've met! We've got her Children's Letters to God and a Junior Dictionary for the classroom.

Night all xxxx

oooggs · 10/12/2009 20:00

Ellie - fab to see you - chickens!!!! would terrify me (all birds do ) Wow 2 years, that has flown by but then again haven't our children (James is 6 tomorrow )

Glad to see Andy is still about and I can totally recommended 16 hours over 3 days - I really 'liked' it.

Sol - I hate it when dh is upset - feel helpless

I am all 'played' out and have a family party tea tomorrow and a 'real' party on Saturday. He is having a circus party and they will be able to try diablo, juggling, plate spinning, balancing, stilt things etc and we are having Dominos pizza delivered for lunch. 16 - 5/6 years olds & my younger 3 with gransparents also helping.

Can't wait til its over

CaptainDippy · 10/12/2009 20:13

Awww, thank you for the fab update POTC Often think of you and your boys. xx We have chicken too - only three though (one for each of the girlies)

Ellie - Great to have an update from you! Sounds like you'll have your hands well and truly full with all those chickens. I'm with oooggs I don't like/am scared of birds! Can't believe its been 2 years since your accident!Glad your new new job is going well!
Do you hear from Pesha at all?

oooggs - Hope the parties go well, IKWYM by being glad when they're all over.

Have been at work all day today...spent almost 4 hours wrapping up all the Christmas presents...I store them at work as Jake is starting to notice bags and boxes appearing and wants to know what's in them.

Hope everyone else ok xx

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2009 18:05

hi everyone
cold dull and very foggy here
lovely to hear from you POTC, glad you are enjoying your new job
Both DCs ill here, A has a nasty cough, T has the same and a bit of a viral thing - raised temp, generally a bit under the weather. He also said his ear hurts but we don't think it's an ear infection yet (but have the ABs on standby for the middle of the night )
A bit of dozing and then two hours solid sleep last night at 3.30 (until T came in at half 5) so fun fun fun today

Sorry for winge!
Have actually had quite a good day - went to a talk about the bf peer support this morning, then docs with T, Chru=istmas shopping and then lunch with work. All fun (apart from docs!) but tiring running from one to another.

oooggs · 11/12/2009 20:18

Ange, I don't like birds either! I sum them up as beaks, feet, feathers and shit!!

Happy Birthday J

SPB, hope the dc are better soon.

All ok here. Dh got back on Thursday, and is fine. He was so pleased to see the girls.

Had an exciting moment yesterday. I finally got my song choice played on Chris Evans' radio show, and spoke to him. I was shaking like a leaf!! Dh recorded it, and it is also on the iPlayer.

Off out tonight with some of the Year 2 Mums; looking forward to it, but still feel pants. Have not drunk (alocohol) for over a week, so think tonight is going to be quite tame!!

StealthPolarBear · 12/12/2009 11:09

Enjoy your night out SOL
Sorry to hear you lot are ill Dooby Good news about the ears though - hope it continues!
T seems loads better, temperature normal, hasn't mentioned his ear hurting any more, so no ABs A still has a cough and seems a bit under the weather but she's OK. I had loads of sleep last night - went to bed at 10 and T was the first up at 4.30 A was up 15 mins later but she might have gone longer if I hadn't disturbed her by getting up and down and prodding her to check for breathing

oooggs · 13/12/2009 19:48

I am crap at maths, is this really the 1st post in more than 36 hours???????

POTC · 13/12/2009 23:12

Evening

We now have 18 chickens . One has the sneezes, one snores and one has been named Steve so an interesting bunch!!! Plus, they all seem to prefer sleeping on the floor to the nice roosting area
There are 5 big black things, a few speckled ones, a few more brown ones and a couple of white-ish ones.
And yes, SOL, there is lots of shit!

Dress Rehearsal went well on Friday, main performances start tomorrow and I'm on penguin dressing duties

Nothing much else to update really, all quiet on the Suffolk front

Met Caz for lunch at the end of November which was fab, don't hear much from Pesha but last time I did she was childminding for 40+ hours a week so that may have something to do with it!

elkiedee · 14/12/2009 10:16

POTC, do you get a supply of eggs out of all those chickens? Rather you than me.

oooggs · 14/12/2009 19:24
