A homage to the Nightmare Before Christmas song. DH obsessed with that film, we all (DD included) have to watch it on Christmas Eve.

Do we have to completely fill the thread then? Or can we jump ship just so we can have a shiny new title to cheery us all up?

Hi everyone. Tree your photos sound heavenly ? what a shame you can?t have the pink nappy one though! Such an amazing shot. I am getting a couple of canvases made for DH and another friend, but still working on the shots. I?m using this site which look really good but are a little bit expensive, but any other suggestions gratefully received? hkz hope the tests went well today. OH has gone down with some man lurgy (N has it too) so I think meet-ups aren?t on the agenda this week? but perhaps we can get them together next week? As for snowsuits, I really like the look of these from hippychick and am tempted to get one for me N for Christmas. Brilliant news on the jumperoo and thanks for the bouncing advice ? apparently baby bjorns also no good because of spine compression ? all their weight rests between their legs, whereas traditional slings gets their hips lower ? good to know for next time). Am selling my jumperoo too on ebay but need to get organised.
stripey poor C, she does sound under the weather. And sorry that your shitty family problems continue.
dog hope you are feeling better and getting along with your iphone. I find it a crappy phone but brilliant as a handheld computer. Awfully frustrating to try to type text messages and things on it though.
MM shame about Father Christmas.

Everything else has gone out of my head. N and OH have been ill ? hard to leave N when he is upset and snotty and cuddly, but we are surviving. Still not taking any milk from cup or bottle ? not really a problem, but in Jan I will have to do long, long shifts (14 hours sometimes) so I would really love him to take some. So strange because he never had a problem before.

I am reading Politics of Breastfeeding on the tube, and it really is compelling. Terribly upsetting too when you realise how many babies die because of bottle feeding in poor countries where they don?t have clean water. Anyway, I am boring all my friends with it, so I won?t bore you too. But has made me want to feed N until he wants to stop. Anyone else going to extended bf?

Dog, sorry to hear you still aren't fully recovered, but glad you've got some pain relief now. Good to know that you've got a great support network though.

Take care of yourself and hope you are fully recovered really soon.

Oh and ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR A!

moosemama · 03/12/2009 16:45

Doh - typed that before school pick-up but pressed preview instead of post. [daft moo emoticon]

Right will read Miss J's post now.

moosemama · 03/12/2009 17:00

Right then, hi Miss J!

Sorry to hear N and OH are poorly. Hope they get better soon. Dd isn't keen on her cup really, she tends to want me to hold it and then laughs and spits out any of the liquid that manages to get into her mouth. She can drink out of it, but doesn't seem bothered. I have had to resort to water in a tiny baby bottle to get fluids into the little madam on occasion.

I would love a canvas of each of my dc's but its just too pricey to get nice ones done at the moment.

As long as N still bf when you are home he will be fine. Will he drink anything else from a cup? When dd refused water and we were worried she was dehydrated, we added a tiny drop of apple juice and she necked the lot.

Have had to stand outside the school in frankly siberian temperatures twice for half an hour at a time this afternoon. Once to collect ds2 whose school trip to the nativity scence (real live Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, plus sheep etc) at the church affiliated to the school and once to collect ds1 from Judo (they are always late out but you daren't arrive late to collect them just in case}. I am not a happy bunny what with coughing my guts up in the cold air, being looked at like a demon plague spreader by parents who then back away from me and still not being able to speak.

Dd however fell asleep half an hour before the first school run and I managed to manouvre her into her snowsuit and into the pushchair without waking her. She then slept right through until we got back from the second school run - so two hours in total! Unfortunately, she now has renewed vigour and has managed to wreck the entire living room in about five minutes flat.

Come on guys, I'm doing my bit to get through the next 200 posts and get a nice new seasonal thread, but its really no fun talking to myself - I can do that at home.

hackneyzoo · 03/12/2009 19:13

Evening all...just got back from GOS , J had some blood tests and a meeting with the oncologist before the biopsy next wednesday. It took three goes and three nurses holding him down and two bottles of milk to find a vein and get blood, he screamed blue murderer but was sweetness and light as soon as it was over. Flirted with the lady sitting next to me on the bus all the way home too. Was up on the oncology ward as GOS and felt very sad and tearful at all the tiny babies and toddlers going through treatment, its a very humbling place to be and the staff are great. Small children seem really resilient to the stress and wOrry surrounding illness.

Haapy birthday mr A! Dog I really hope you are feeling better, any idea what is causing the headaches?

Gload work ids going well miss j. hope the boys feel better soon, this has been a real illness thread., Mon and tue are the only days dh can do for a meet up next week.

Moose your niece sounds like shes been through a lot, hope she manages to sort herself out. I guess you've all got to wait until she decides to do it for herself.

How is C Stripey? Hope she's feeling better.

Had a chat with my boss at work this a.m. and am going to go back full time after xmas Really like doing four days, but we are super skint and if we ever want to move/do my MA/have a life need to start saving big time.

Right, must put this boy to bed.

hackneyzoo · 03/12/2009 19:20

oooo, new thread title, what about.... Jan 2009...'twas the thread before christmas, soon the babies turn one, the years been quite busy, pass the red wine to mum...

Might need a bit of editing..I'm delirious with lack of sleep

stripeywoollenhat · 03/12/2009 20:33

hkz, that's pretty much a perfect title. buckets of red wine, please . glad j bounced back quickly from the testing, i am sure he was a total charmer on the bus. are you going to get results when you go back on wednesday? have all fingers crossed for you.

missj, sorry to hear about your sickies, hope they are better already. 14 hour days in january - somehow not the right time of year for long days. do you get a reasonable break at christmas?

moose, i was a horror at twenty one but am quite hopeful that i've grown out of it . some people just take a long time to come out of their adolescence, i think - hopefully that'll be true for your niece

dog, hope you coped! and that you feel a bit better this evening. and happy birthday to the lovely boy

so c was so awful this morning with the crying and the clinging - not at all like her - that i took her to the doctor. obviously by the time i got there she was virtually singing and dancing she has a sore throat, it seems...

dp is back, thank god. not entirely pleased about the heroin-addicted inlaw, but who would be...? better go and see if i can ply her with more wine...

treedelivery · 03/12/2009 21:10

bliemy busy day at the thread

I vote we jump ship to a Christmas/one year one/ Your title is great HKZ.

We can work a spell to ensure all illness/bug are left locked int his thread

Am actually far to tired to be here, so will just say get well soon Dog, and glad today was ok HKZ. Although the blood taking was obviously not nice. It took 4 to hold down dd1 in Aug. Wasn't nice.

Happy birthday Mr A!

Had school fair today plus other full on events, hence I have run out of adrenaline.....zzzzzzzz.........

SherryMerryLennipillar · 03/12/2009 21:19

We can jump ship whenever we want..
