Morning all

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR STEAKYYYYYYYYYY!!
happy birthday to you

Ooh you know I'm liking the sound of a girly night in, but will go along with any plans really. Which date are we thinking of? Will need to clear with DP and MIL, as MIL would probably have to have Seb until DP got home - unless we're brining babies. Not sure about that though due to night time, tiredness blah blah.

My older niece had a trip to the hospital last night - she swallowed a 20p which got lodged just before it reached her stomach. Apparently she didn't want to go in the 'amblience' bless.
no1 that is so sad. Sisters SIL lost a baby at 38 weeks. They were devastated. Such a hard thing

dizzydixies · 16/10/2009 11:18

morning all, I have no fecking time

Steaky - happy birthday

Sazz - safe journey, see you soon!!

Poppy - will be in touch to see what your plans are for next week so we can sort something out

am so sorry I just don't have a minute to breath at the minute, only home from Dublin, straight into a late shift, Sazz etc arriving on Sun and a big cafe meeting on Mon [meep]

am trying to keep up but forgive me if I miss something vital

luckoftheirish · 16/10/2009 12:39

happy birthday steaky xxx

MidnightSlayer · 16/10/2009 13:22

Reese is dancing around listening to Lady GaGa this morning. MTV2 it is!

Halloween costumes completed last night & with try ons this morning. Both girls are happy. DD1 will be a pink witch and Reese will be a Monkey witch (twas a cute shirt so I added to it). Oddly it took $20US in upgrades to renovate DD1's $25US costume into the glory it is today. I even had to ADD a witches hat UNDER the hat that came with the costume. Why can't they just make a good inexpensive costume?

Only two pacey replacement wakes last night. I'm feeling a bit sore from pilates so it made the wakes total crap. Why can't DH trade out???

Off to sit on the sofa find something to do.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/10/2009 16:09

sazzles what a night.

midnightslayer I have gor some Halloween costumes sorted.
Ds is a spider.
DD won't even try her outfit on.

Also I got xmas outfits and guess what dd doesn't like it.
Well she tried it on,but it had a bit of fabric on neck that she seemed to fear. So wouldn't let me fasten it.

Both dcs been asleep since 1.30. still asleep
Oh dear they wont be going to bed at 7 will they?

Both slept for 12 hour last night though

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/10/2009 16:11

TBH I really feel like this

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 16/10/2009 16:17

no1 why the sad faces?

DS and I were having a bit of a grumpy afternoon so i stuck my latin jazz cd on and we've had fun dancing. Trust me girls, DS will be one to watch in a few years time...the boy's got rhythm!

[proud mum emoticon with a halloween hat on]

hey, there's a bj witch....

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 16/10/2009 16:17

Winibaghoul · 16/10/2009 16:28

hey guys. no1 you ok??
Mmmm which would the men prefer do you think? Bj witch or bj bunny?
Here's a funny song for you ladie.

Winibaghoul · 16/10/2009 16:29

yes no1 I was reading the GB thread as well. Pretty much as expected really I'm sure you know what I mean.

MidnightSlayer · 16/10/2009 16:36

LOL!

I just put Reese down for a nap. I'm tired too but will wait to nap. Since I'm hurting a bit today I've cancelled tomorrow's pilates. I'll go Sunday and be fine. Meeting a former workmate for lunch afterwards. I have the sneaking suspision he's going to talk work possibilities with me. I'll listen but I'm not ready to go back to work just yet.

Roofer called for the 3rd time to reschedule. This is just for a QUOTE. I told them to scratch my name off their list I've waited and rescheduled enough. Goodness knows they'll attempt to do the same thing once the roofing starts. On to find another roofer.

No1 my DD1 won't wear things that touch her neck without a fight. Never has.

Miamla we've had a bit of a dance club thing going on here too. I can't move very well but I've been tapping to the beat while Reese dances.

Ladies, the childminder told me yesterday that Reese is the kindest child in her class. The lady said when she's hungry she will go point to her bag for food and when she's tired she will go point to the crib. The lady said she is also more inclined to find a toy and play nicely by herself with it. Reese my calm soul. They've never seen her HULK OUT when she's mad about something.LOL!

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 16/10/2009 18:54

That's really nice TS.

I was on the Gordon Brown thread too. I do think it's amazing that the actual Prime Minister was on Mumsnet chatting, but rather sad that he said things like "Sarah is a Busy Mum just like all of you" and swerved most of the actual questions. I am generally pro-him though I must say. And fair play to him for coming on.

Steaky hope you have a nice birthday evening with your mum and dd.

Halloween costumes sound great. I usually put something together with ds1 involving face paint and this brilliant snazaroo moulding stuff and a few torn sheets or whatever. Not sure what he will be this year, or will he be too old?? We have progress on an alternative school front! Am delighted.

I am going out for supper now with some of ds1's school mums so talk tomorrow.

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 16/10/2009 18:56

In case you thought snazaroo was an Irish way of saying cool, snazaroo.

Obviously not for the tinies but good fun with the older ones.

UndeadLentil · 16/10/2009 19:27

That is lovely TS. [smile[

Have a good night VG. I agree about Gordon Brown. As someone else on the thread said, I think he really struggles to find an authentic public voice.

I don't expect for one second that he talks about Sarah in that way in real life. I'd swap Cowen for someone with Gordon's sense of justice any day.

Have we had a chance to play with the halloween emoticons yet?

itshotterinhell · 16/10/2009 20:57

I too read the GB chat, thought it was pretty cool to get him on but all a little too sound-bitey really, and that big advert for voting Labour at the end didn't go down well Go wini for getting on the thread though My fave webchat is still Chris out of off of Doodle Do

We are slightly lurgified here, poor DD threw up everywhere and had no tea , DS snoring into the monitor as he is full of cold, DH feeling a bit off (although nearly wine o'clock so we'll see how genuine that is ) and I feel a bit sick but think it's cos I gorged on camembert left over from a big bod buffet at work It was delish, but the resultant trumping puts a dampener on it a bit

iwascyteenagewerewolf · 16/10/2009 20:59

itshotterinhell · 16/10/2009 21:01

Very wise

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/10/2009 21:15

aaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh

Should not have let dcs sleep till 4.30pm

Ds now asleep. Took 1.5hr
DD I can hear on the stairs with little sobs.

Oh hang on she is now down stairs.

MidnightSlayer · 16/10/2009 21:25

Sorry HP and No1.

Got DD1's report card today. Found out she's been marked for one tardy. Seems give tardies for early pick up. 15 minutes prior to bell....what is she missing...packing her bag???? I find this out only AFTER I signed her out early today to get a jump on the Fall Break celebrations. Oh well! The kid's not going to have perfect attendance with a mother like me around.

For some reason both dcs are on every last nerve of mine today. I think I just need a break. Or sleep. Or something. It's cold, wet, grey here. Makes me moody!

Hi! Bye!

steaknifethroughtheheart · 16/10/2009 22:16

Good grief - DD went to bed at 6.30 but still hasn't settled properly.
Every time I went in she was hanging over the cot exhausted and finally went to sleep, but then woke up cos of a poo. Changed her, back to bed, thought she was asleep, but no.

Poor little thing is just tired, tired, tired and I am faring no better. I've got her cold and as ever it has gone straight to my throat. It is going to be all kinds of pain this weekend.

grrrr grrrrr, oh quietness upstairs.....[hopeful]

I got wine and chocolate and socks for my birthday from my mum and her friend - result. And mum's unused mps player, cos biggest bro sent her an ipod for her birthday, result again.

AND I launched my birthday blender today with pea soup - yum.

Hope the other chaps and chappesses are all fast asleep or doing whatever time-zone appropriate behaviour makes their mamas happy.

pertelote · 16/10/2009 22:31

Glad you have had lots of good pressies Steaky! What a pain to be hit by a cold though, not a nice present.

My laptop is playing up today so not nearly enough MNing for a nice empty day off!

TS, Hotter, No1 - hope your little ones are sleeping soundly and you are getting some rest.

Sorry, I've seen talk of a London meet but not really taken it in - I'm around and would love to meet whenever suits people! Well having said that I haven't been away at bedtime yet... is it definitely a night in/out that's planned?

itshotterinhell · 16/10/2009 22:32

Glad you have had a happy birthday steaky

DD threw up in her bed and DH been sick a few times too hope it's not spreading...

steaknifethroughtheheart · 16/10/2009 22:49

For those of you with sicky poppets I was talking to a friend today whose 5 year old is pukey whenever she gets a cold.
Her Dr explained that with little ones the infection can affect any glands anywhere including in the tummy and that is what makes them puke.

I hope I've explained that clearly.

wotcha pert, HP.
