Thoughts and prayers for young MrAlbs. How scarey, and Ann, good to remember that the same happened to your DS and he is now better.
Miamla - I think that the fruit thing and sleep is baby specific. With DS I am pretty sure that a bowl of apple puree rather than an orange at some point during the helps (not cooked, just raw apple whizzed with the blender, which he either eats by himself or I feed him depending on how I am feeling about the mess) it certainly helps him to poo. He will eat apple whole, but takes small bites and gets bored and would only eat a fraction of that which he does if it is pureed. I think that on the basis of the evidence so far we could certainly create a research hypothesis and apply for a grant researching the relationship between different fruit and sleep ...
My sister tells me that apply puree has a higher GI index, however.
hotter did you post on facebook that you are trying to learn statistics ... always happy to help as my job at the moment (well, I don't really have much work at all, but when I did) was teaching statistics online ...
Sazzles excellent news about diet, and sympathy about the sleep. It sounds like you have been having a rubbish time for ages now.
cyteen - sorry not to be much help re: what do your babies do, but mostly we go to the park as he and I both get bored and fractious if we stay in the house.
But when we are in the house he doesn't concentrate on anything very well for very long, and he gets around by walking holding one hand and gets a bit grumpy if I don't help him to walk. He likes kicking a ball and opening and closing things. Empty bottles with flip to caps, full bottles with flip top caps, cupboards, doors.
If we go out to cafes or the library he likes going up and down in the lift and up and down stairs.
In general I have been feeling very stressed about the new baby's birth, but we went to DS's paediatrician today to get the prescription for his vaccines and she said that she will come to the birth (we are to call her cell phone when I get admitted in labour). She is very nice, speaks excellent English which is great as my spanish went completely to pot when I was in labour last time, and seems to understand the bits that I found difficult about DS being taken away from me after he was born, so feeling much more positive.
Of course, whatever happens will happen, and that the baby is born safe and well is the most important thing, and even if things don't work out as I hope I will feel OK as I do trust the medical side of the care here - but I sometimes find it difficult to try to explain my hopes and expectations, so I feel really encouraged that there will be someone there who has taken some of these concerns on board.
Wow, this is a long post worthy of TS
... only I guess that I would need another 10 follow up posts to get the style really correct!
dizzy probably Magdalena Isabel, but DH suggested Teresa yesterday which is also very nice and can be shortened to Tessa, which is lovely.
Magdalena would probably be Maddie or Maggie
