Evening

Lovely, lovely day but tired here also after wrestling DD2 for most of the journey home and then sitting in the luggage compartment so i could put her in the pushchair . The venue was great, lovely company, the new slimline hots looked fab and put us all to shame carrying her gorgeous DS whilst we were the Maclaren crew. No1Baby was a fruitmonster, CeceBoy did wonderful sleeping , CyteenLad was adorably cute with a cheeky eye and HotsMan grinned at everything! HotsGirl was brilliantly behaved, loves choccie and was a credit to her Mummy . DD2 on the other hand paid attention to her Mummy and avoided all the male attention, remaining aloof to it at all times
cece i think you need to be thanking no1 for the tea. I would love to take the credit but i merely carried the tray

ann if you are worried he will climb out again it may be safest to drop the cot side so less far to fall IYSWIM

TS Not mad at all. Must have been a weird situation. However as it was so long ago i think i would paint on a smile and be MrsLOvely. Not that you could be anything else

Thanks Lentil for the new thread

snot i meant to say before that DD2 adores fresh bread and jam which is a quick and easy filler upper

steaky sorry to hear about the job . Did they give any feedback? Hopefully the next one which comes along will be just as interesting but part time

UndeadLentil · 13/10/2009 20:12

funniest thread in ages here

SOrry steaky I wasn't ignoring you back there - sorry to hear you didn't get the job but the next thing will pop up soon. I really believe everything happens for a reason

ann how's S now? Ds1 bashed his lip/gum when he was about 18 months. For the next 3 days he fell and bashed himself on the same exact bit of face!! Bled like a good un. No lasting damage though, and I hope S is the same.

Now then, the gossip you really need for today....
No1 has the most amazing RED hair. Honestly it's awesome. And thanks for the tea No1 . Did I say nice boots?
sazz has an inbuilt satnav. Despite never having been to Sheffield before, she made her way around like a homing pigeon! .
hotpot impressed me greatly with her home made sling Truly a creative genius. And she had made a note of everyone's arrival time and met us at the station AND then got us to Weston Park, despite never having been there herself. You're a star hotpot
cyteen was stripping off in the museum and 'lost' her coat . Seriously though, I think you are my sense of humour twin
all babies (and slightly larger one) are utterly edible and seemed to have a fab time. Cyteen pulled a museum guard. Marcus pulled a chick in the park. Oliver generally made an effort but overall felt quite sorry for himself. Shame really as he's such a lively little thing usually. Oh well, we'll just have to do it again!!

steaknifethroughtheheart · 13/10/2009 20:57

Your day in Sheffield sounds lovely ladies.

Feeling a bit pfft tonight so might just potter off and tidy up Chez Steaky.

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 21:17

The meet-up sounds like it was all ACES. I'm loving the recaps and gossip news.

Reese has climbed up in my desk chair and is sitting BEHIND ME. Guess that's better than on my lap and grabbing at the keyboard.

Sazzles you are so right. She's just of the high maintenance/high drama set (which I am the farthest from). I think mine was just a kneejerk reaction. I truly think they've created a lovely family and know her husband would very happy if we could be friends.

Speaking of drama, more from our carpool pal. Seems her son was suspended from school today for THREE DAYS because SHE texted him after school directions 15 minutes prior to last bell and his phone was turned on instead of off so it beeped. Could there be any stupider reason to suspend a child from middle school??????

SazZaVoom · 13/10/2009 21:33

LOL at my SatNav - hots was definitely the Judith Chalmers of the bunch

seaky hope you have a good night's sleep and your mojo returns tomorrow

TS Now that is a kneejerk reaction by the school . LOL at you not being high drama. Really?

hotterpotter · 13/10/2009 21:55

I thought we were friends Judith Chalmers...

SazZaVoom · 13/10/2009 22:01

Obviously in her fab Holiday hey day . And meant in a way that you organised the trip, location, travel plans etc

BucketsOfBlood · 13/10/2009 22:03

[green][green][green] of the Northerneers. And because I just did a mammoth shop on Tesco and couldn't find a single delivery code that worked. I HATE paying full price for anything!

So TS give us the goss, how long did you date, how old were you both and what was he like in bed?

hotterpotter · 13/10/2009 22:05

LOL I'll let you off!

Bed time now after an exhausting but lovely day, was super smashing to see you guys today but work calls in the morning and I will probably have to concentrate after nearly 3 weeks off

Will check back into HotMamas tomorrow too

Night all

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:10

LOL! Buckets that's all classified!

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:18

Okay I found a declassified snipit: He took me to my senior prom when I was 18. He's the one that gave me the "he's okay" nod (i was very drunk and with glasses) when DH first approached me at our local bar in 1993. So he's basically the reason I wound up with my DH! We've remained friends for all these years probably because of his best friend (the first and only other guy I've ever lived with). He died tradegically when we were 25.

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:22

Why is my daughter tossing perfectly good blueberry waffles on the floor?!?!?! She is also refusing to drink milk! I can not handle another picky eater in the house!!!!! I could have eaten those waffle bits! Such a waste!!

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:23

Somebody go get Miamla. She's being cute and posting on the old thread.

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:26

Folks close to home here are talking about IKEA. I believe we've had a new store open and it is causing folks to fall in love with retail in a whole new way. I websurfed over the IKEA website and noticed they have bathroom things: sinks, faucets, towel holders...but no toilets. Why? If you carry everything else for a bathroom why would you exclude toilets? Seems strange.

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:27

Question regarding Curtains: Does anyone know how to properly measure for them? Is there a thread here in MN land that might help??

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:29

Before I forget, PILATES is WONDERFUL!!! I so wish you could all do it or that we could all be in a class together. I'm loving my new found strength. Although that CS injury is still causing havoc. Other than that it's PERFECT!!!

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:31

Reese is sitting quietly in my lap while I type so that's why I'm continuing to find things to type about. I like holding her while she's content to be held by me. I'm sure that will end very soon. She was giggling away a few minutes ago. Her laugh is infectious. She laughs at almost everything too. Even when she tosses perfectly good waffles off her tray.

SazZaVoom · 13/10/2009 22:31

LOL at TS off on her own

miamla will find us, never fear

TS for meassuring curtains, measure from the bottom of the rail to the floor/sill etc, and then make sure you get this measurement of the actual curtain as the type of header you have will affect it. For example, if you want eyelets, you need an additional 10-15 cms of fabric above the rail, whereas with tab tops you need virtually none. Sorry that is probably double dutch

IKEA do cheap stuff, not necessarily useful or complete ranges IYSWIM

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:31

And now she's asleep.

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:32

Okay but how do you know where to place the rail?

SazZaVoom · 13/10/2009 22:33

DD2 and i were playing peekaboo in the luggage compartment of the train today. Her giggles were infectious too

To bed for me......Night all

SazZaVoom · 13/10/2009 22:35

Again i would say this might depend on the header. FOr tab tops or on rings it needs to be higher so you don't get a gap at the top, whereas traditional or eyelets the curtain rail can be lower as the curtain goes above the rail

MidnightSlayer · 13/10/2009 22:37

crap then that means i need to start with the rail then get the curtains. thank you.

night night

SazZaVoom · 13/10/2009 22:39

My preference is ALWAYS eyelets BTW (just in case you were interested ). I like the look and hang of the curtains best
