Cyteen - forgot to mention out of my 3 kids she actually likes lego too so the others have started playing with it as well

No1 am so pleased you enjoyed it too - I was the same and DH thinks I'm a loon as I had tears streaming down my face at a few of the songs

Winibaghoul · 03/11/2009 13:35

hi ladies.
sprry to hear about poorly mums and babies. Mind you Seb and I are still snotty and coughing.
cyteen I tend to just let Seb pootle about. Unfortunately at the moment his favourite activity is clinging to/climbing up mummy, crying and whinging all the while. He's officially driving me nuts. I think he may be a bit bored, but with the weather we ain't going anywhere.
Trying to do job apps with a baby screaming an throwing himself across you for a bf is NOT fun. >

RedLentil · 03/11/2009 14:51

The smallest legume does lots of what mini-dixie does, without the distraction of a dog victim. She loves to dance too and shouts 'dan, dan' until music turns up.

Putting things into bags and boxes and taking them out is top activity, losely followed by testing out all the chairs in the house. She flicks through books or reverses in to have them read to her. Possibly 20 or so a day ... Partly this is copying DS and DD1.

I do think I didn't have enough toys for ds at this age. I was very against filling the house with crap. Now, we are relatively crap-free, but some staple stuff like toy cars, toy food, a tea set, animals and brick are getting a third lot of intensive use now.

She also loves 'beebees' and is devoted to her poppy rag doll from elc which was dd1's first birthday present and totally ignored. dd1 is more of a legohead like ds.

She pauses the washing machine, puts dd1's shoes in the bin, empties cupboards, empties and restocks the drawers in the room she shares with dd1 and tries to escape upstairs at every opportunity.

Ah, no time for news now. Glad the concert was fab no1 and hope you are feeling a bit better Dizzy. What a time you are having.

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 15:11

lentil welcome home - did you have a lovely time sans famille?

DD2 has appeased herself with pringles and cakes - I think we're on the mend

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 15:21

ah feck it feck it feck it - have lost DD2's medicine I think I put it down whilst getting her into the car and have driven off with out it - fecking eejit

now of course the surgery is closed for training this afternoon and the pharmacist I had a barney with getting the sodding neurofen hasn't had it handed in

oopsandbabycoconut · 03/11/2009 15:35

Dizzy - do you not have an ooh doctor you could ring and get a replacement?

DD a bit more chipper after a nap, DH being a
prime arse - I phoned him to ask if he could get something from the shop on his way home, he asked the person answering the phone (MIL) if it was important and she never asked me just handed me over so he lost his cool asking if I was bored or lonely that I needed to ring him constantly at work, saying it was important, when he was manic (I have called twice today 1st time was to tell him a letter he wanted had arrived) So I hung up on him and e-mailed him stating that I would not be answering the phone to him nor calling him at work if he needed anything get someone else to do it!

Rant over now off to buy a custard slice, some salad and take some clothes to the cleaners. I AM A DOMESTIC GODDESS

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 16:00

it was only neurofen and paracetamol as due to the fact its viral nothing else will help - I'd also got him to give me some coldsore cream though as her wee mouth looks sore - am just annoyed at myself, how stupid can one person be?!?!

esp after fighting with him to get the actual neurofen on minor ailments rather than the ibuprofen stuff which she spits at me like a hissing snake at 2am because she doesn't like it - neurofen she takes like a wee junkie

CaptainCaveman · 03/11/2009 16:17

dizzy you have my sympathies. Won't do much for you I know, but here have them anyway.

no1 we are getting O some clothes for Christmas as I don't seem to have kept many from ds1 at this age. Also getting a teddy, a few cares and not much else. He's got so much stuff already that doesn't get used.

O is currently enjoying-
emptying one cupboard in particular, the one where dh has stored the crystal (honestly, what a stupid place to put it)
Emptying packets of wipes, one wipe at a time
Pointing at the lights (any lights)
'Driving' a car around everywhere
Putting every object to his ear (or the back of his head) like a telephone, then offering it to me
Pushing his big brother off my lap whenever he sees him sat there

Hope those of you who are ill/have littlies who are ill,, soon feel much better

CaptainCaveman · 03/11/2009 16:18

LOL, we are getting O some cars not cares!

RedLentil · 03/11/2009 16:26

sans famille?

I travelled with one husband and three children on the way out, and the two girls and multiple bags on the way home while dh and ds went to see Manchester United.

My entire 'time off' consisted of the gap between my haircut starting and my haircut ending. I travelled on a lot of trains with dd2 to see my friends and had a lovely time, but tis not quite the same as travelling alone ...

Dh was working and ddd2 was cutting molars and was welded to my leg / hip / bosom for most of the trip.

She has started sleeping through though and my new short hair cut is very swish.

Gah about the medicine Dizzy. Did you find another doc?

steaknifethroughtheheart · 03/11/2009 16:50

cyteen I am very lazy fostering DDs sense of independence and imagination by leaving her to get on with things herself.

Favourite toys include my purse, my sewing tape measure but if she can't find it any lead will do, my knickers and bras for draping over herself. Usually clean off the airer but I found her rootling about in the dirty laundry the other day

She is a cupboard emptier too but fortunately we only have 3 in our kitchen with nothing so desireable as crystal in them. Tinned peas yes, champagne, no.

She also enjoys flumping on the sofa and trying to throw herself over the back of it. Pushing all the buttons on the stereo and just yesterday has started trying to put things into the tape decks and closing the fronts.

Of her toys she likes her bricks, cups and the pop up people best and the boxes they came in.

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 17:29

Lentil, sorry, am not sure why I thought you were getting a break - sorry

DH has found the medicine - all hail the conquering hero - I'll never hear the end of this

never mind, neurofen has worked its wonders for the moment so liquid gold imo

TwilightSurfer · 03/11/2009 18:18

{{{HUGS}}} Red

YAY Dizzy! Oops have our husbands been chatting on DADNET????

Cyteen Reese does pretty much whatever. I could probably copy three lines from everyone who's posted about their little ones but I won't bore you.

Beautiful day here. Pilates was AMAZING as usual. Again it was just my X's wife and me but I think we are getting along very well. He's in Sydney or Thailand right now (can't remember)...she's got all 5 kids on her own for 2 weeks. Reese is a dream child and such a star in her Mom's Day Out class. Kinsley....well she's having good moments mixed with a bunch of bad. She could be going through another growth spurt thus the grumpiness. DH CRAP! I just remembered I forgot to pick up his drycleaning THAT HE forgot yesterday. MENTAL NOTE: PICK UP DRYCLEANING AFTER SCHOOL RUN!

off to write mental note down on a piece of paper.

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 18:37

am wondering if DH has put the dance channel on in the background to encourage me to get the cleaning done - am now prancing round the dining room/kitchen raving with an anti-bac wipe and kitchen roll

'baby baby, why can't we just stay together yyyeaahhh yeahhhh yeaahhhhhhh'

god I embarass myself

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 18:39

lack of sleep is a torture in some cultures and I think I'm understanding why

come, come, come to my sweet melodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

steaknifethroughtheheart · 03/11/2009 18:44

Oh dear, it has taken me all afternoon to work out what oops meant by an ooh doctor.
I've been pootling around wondering what an ooooooooooooooooooooo doctor was. [hangs head in shame]

I thought it was maybe a special Halloween medical term, but that would be a woooooooo-ooooooooooo doctor.

TS I used to manage all my funds with two accounts too. Pay in and bills out of one account, living allowance paid automatically into second account. CCs on 0% interest deal paid on min payment and everything else paid into a tax free savings account. At the end of the 0% period I paid it all off with the savings. Cleared £6,000 in one year doing that.

steaknifethroughtheheart · 03/11/2009 18:45

Dizzy that is one of my faves!

dizzydixies · 03/11/2009 18:54

cyteen approves of this post

RedLentil · 03/11/2009 20:30

Oh you don't need to apologise for being self-centred now that you have such a very small self.

What a fab achievement.

Loti-hang on in there. When I saw your facebook page and your dh's profile, my mouse hovered over 'send him a message' for one brief moment ....

luckoftheirish · 03/11/2009 20:30

woo hoo sazz!!! been keeping up with the hot mamas thread and am constantly amazed at all your and others (hotter, vg...) determination and success.. self centred post well deserved
