OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 28/10/2009 17:22

Yes Wini - I nominated you

Winibaghoul · 28/10/2009 18:35

hehe thanks Oops.

VG - the grobag arrived today. I only just noticed that it's 18-36 months though. Is it still ok to use it, given that it's a lot bigger than he is?

itshotterinhell · 28/10/2009 18:35

Another vote here for your H winning the arse of the year award Loti I am the main worker in our house but I still come home and cook tea every day and help with the DC until bedtime, then DH and I take it in turns to have a lie in when we're both at home. I really hope you can get him to see it's not fair and step up

Cyteen your name is brill but didn't you use it last year? Only B+ for effort I'm afraid

DS trying to samsh the latop with the pepper grinder better get him off the table...

steaknifethroughtheheart · 28/10/2009 19:35

steaknifethroughtheheart · 28/10/2009 20:49

So who of the London ladies are around on Monday afternoon for a bit of a mini-meet?

Loti - don't think I found you on FB - I found someone but not sure it was you.
Hope tomorrow is better for you.

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 28/10/2009 21:12

ooh what monday steaky?

and what the hell has happened to this place? its all weird looking!

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 28/10/2009 21:13

and steaky i'll send you an fb thingy with loti's real name...

steaknifethroughtheheart · 28/10/2009 21:21

It would be this coming Monday - the 2nd.
But just looking at trains and I am not sure it is a very realistic idea as we wouldn't get home till gone midnight.
I would have Iz with me so not sure it is fair, especially as we have Ikea trip the next day.

What do you ladies think?
Should I hang the expense, faff and tiredness and just go.
Give ticket to someone else, perhaps someone living in London say perhaps someone with a 1 year old - anyone know any of those.
Or give my ticket back to be given to another, random MNer.

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 28/10/2009 21:41

what are you going on about steaky?!! i seem to have missed the chat about your master plan for what's happening on monday!
if you want to go to whatever it is, you can stay at mine monday night to save you travelling back at a silly time

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 28/10/2009 21:47

oh and i think i've confused loti with another mner! sorry loti! am i friends with you?!

just had fun on fb discovering friends of friends who have mutual friends who i'm friends with but as far as i'm concerned the two friends of mine don't know each other!

hmm, don't think i explained it very well so i'll give you an example

lets say i know Fred from school
and I know Mark from skating
and lets say both Mark and Fred know Jeffery

i was doing a search for Jeffery (who i don't know) and discovered that i know two of his friends but as far as i knew, Mark and Fred don't know each other

hmm, still not sure i explained it very well!

steaknifethroughtheheart · 28/10/2009 21:49

Mwahhaha I have no masterplan.

I can't stay over on Monday because I have to go to Ikea on Tuesday as that is the only day before Mansteak's arrival that mum is free to either come with or babysit Izzy.

And I can't really afford it - already had that chat from my mum. 'tis cos I am a different generation that we think going to launch parties for a laugh is a good idea. They didn't have such things in her day

No masterplan and confused.

But if you would like to go in my stead you will just have to remember that your nickname is infact steaknife.

steaknifethroughtheheart · 28/10/2009 21:50

why would you be looking for jeffery when you don't know him, and if you don't know him how do you know he exists?

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 28/10/2009 21:56

steaky, its your fault i started playing the mutual friend game! i was looking for what i thought was loti's real first name and my plan was to look through her mutual friends to check she was an mner but whilst doing that i found someone with mutual friends with me but i didn't know that my two friends (who i didn't think knew each other) had a friend in common

try it and see... i found loads whilst searching for other names! for example, albs' husband has a friend called Robert Somethingorother and Robert Somethingorother also knows a guy I was at school with. So now i'm wondering if albs' husband knows the guy i was at school with!

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 28/10/2009 21:57

ooh what's it a launch party for?

steaknifethroughtheheart · 28/10/2009 22:04

It is the Stella Mccartney for Baby Gap launch.

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 28/10/2009 22:07

is there no way you could do it? you could travel back early on the tuesday? seems a shame if you've got/won/stolen tickets to something that you want to go to

have you played the fb mutual friend game yet? DP was thoroughly riveted by my findings

steaknifethroughtheheart · 28/10/2009 22:15

I am not playing FB mutal friend game, just your description hurt my head.

The only way to do it would be to cancell tuesday. But I've been nagging asking mum to find a day for the mighty Ikea for weeks and she brought the new car seat in anticipation.

oh my life is so sad - I am throwing over Stella for Ikea.

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 28/10/2009 22:30

but its fun...honest!

what about doing a late night trip to ikea instead? would that work?

DP just asked if i could find out what time ikea closes as i was typing the above!! i told him what i'd just typed so he said 'do do do do dooooo' in a spooky voice, turned round to look at me and said 'ooh, i expected you to be pregnant' and the boy hasn't even had any beer yet!

Snotmonster · 29/10/2009 02:37

So Miamla is there something you're not telling us?

Loti I hope at the very least you had a better night and hope that you are able to talk things through with DH and tell him exactly how you feel. Maybe writing things down would help - I know I always build things up in my head and DH just gets frustrated when I can't explain to him what is wrong when I'm upset and emotion gets the better of me. This is of course always 100 times worse when you're exhausted from lack of sleep.

DS had a bad fall this morning and split his lip and cut his tongue. There was loads of blood but I know cuts to the mouth always look a lot worse than they are. Poor little thing though it was just before breakfast so now he's starving but everything we try to give him seems to hurt his mouth. He'd slept ok (well till 5.15) and woken up in such a good mood chattering away to himself.
