OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 25/10/2009 20:16

Thanks everyone - I have decided the 'this too will pass' phrase is very apt for them at the moment. Sazz - Dh is being very supportive and has basically told them to wind their necks in. I know when I'm scared and tired and feeling sick I snap at DH but never in public!

Albs - that is very sad it must have been very difficult for your parents.

Roast beef was delicious and now DH is watching Simpsons and the cat is eating scraps.

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 25/10/2009 20:58

See my whinging killed the thread

MidnightSlayer · 25/10/2009 21:01

Oops you didn't kill it. I had to have a heart to heart with DD1 who said she "got it" but hasn't gotten it enough to say what needs to be said...like "sorry!" ARRRRrggghhh!!

Now I'm cleaning up baby things to go to others while the kids play.

SazZaVoom · 25/10/2009 21:21

I am watching Emma and they are up on Boxhill, a stones throw from where i grew up

Winibaghoul · 25/10/2009 22:50

Hi ladies

oops at your ILs honestly!! What does your dh think of their charming comments?? Well when your dc2 has arrived and settled you'll have to go for dc3
We're ok here, still full of cold though. Seb's breathing is soo raspy and rattly. Just want him to get better. Mind you I'm still all bunged up myself.
no1 hope M is feeling more his old self soon

MiamlaMwahHahahahahaaaaaaa · 25/10/2009 22:59

oops can't believe how rude your ils are being! give me their phone number...i'll give them a &^%$ rottweiler!

just spent an hour catching up and my seive brain has drained everything out

ooh, DP put a lovely vid of DS up on fb...Ds was on the phone chatting to DP's parents! tis very sweet!

gah! just seen the time, i've got work tomorrow but only in the afternoon because i'm off in the morning to the hospital for an appt about my knee...i finally get to find out what they did to me at the beginning of sept! Can't believe how little movement i've still got in it but hey ho

ooh, to all you ladies with piles...get them sorted...seriously! i was banded yesterday. was painful yesterday (felt like i had a bonfire up there!) but today it feels fine

right, i've got a ticket booked on the next train to Bedward so off i go

ooh, forgot to say welcome home Sazzle

MidnightSlayer · 25/10/2009 23:57

Does everyone hear it? SILENCE

Both DCs in bed and quiet (hopefully asleep) and it is 7:50pm. Only slightly past bedtime but hey.

Miamla about your KNEE. I was having trouble with mine until last week. Seems it was a secondary problem corrected after my spine was manipulated. I was having stiffness and pain in the knee joint. Whatever magic my chiropractor worked on my hip and back FIXED my knee too. Total score! Good luck with your doctor's visit tomorrow. Do ask though if it could be because of something further uphill out of whack.

Oh and you've scared me on the piles issue. I'll be off to buy some witch hazel tomorrow for proper soaking JUST IN CASE.

Buckets did you get all your appliances moved out?

DH is in Colorado now and it's snowing harder and the temp is dropping. Let's just hope it warms back up in a few days. I'd like him home before Halloween!

I had something else on my mind to share but it disappeared... It will come to me probably at 2am. Stay tuned for the Blackberry from Bed Post.

Night

Snotmonster · 26/10/2009 01:36

Hi TS if you're still around - remembered what it is yet?

No1 and Ann hope that your DS' are both feeling better soon.

Oops at your IL's comments.

Sazz welcome back your break sounds lovely.

DS still not sleeping well and not really sure what the problem is. I do like having my parents or my MIL here as I know they need to see DS and get to know him but it's hard work having guests in your house for this long and it seems like every time they leave I have to work really hard to get DS back into any kind of routine again.

luckoftheirish · 26/10/2009 05:40

heavens above... what is with this early wake ups??!!

DD2 been up since same time yesterday 4.42am.. arghhh.. dd1 is thankfully still asleep but woke up a few times.. wet the bed something she never does and realised when she did that her head felt really really hot .. calpol duly given so fingers crossed...

at your inlaws oops not fair at all...

vg amazed at the marathon sleep your ds2 had.. tips please and enjoy the bank holiday..

no1 really hope u had a good night and ds temp has gone down.. when i was reading your posts last night i wasing thanking god neither of my dds have had high temp.. guess i got jinxed!!!

sorry seb and u are still poorly wini.. hope you both get better soon...

hoping to get a lovely snuggle with my nephew today, tho i guess if dd1 still has temp we will be staying well clear...

have a good day all.. i fear i may collapse with exhaustion but as dh doesn't seem to notice my perils, i better just get on with it xxx

itshotterinhell · 26/10/2009 08:25

Sorry to hear you were up so early Loti, I must admit I was expecting similar from my two after the clocks went back but by some miracle they slept until 7am yesterday and 7.35am today that's 8.35 to their body clocks but why the flip couldn't they have slept in till half eight when it actually was half eight .

No1 poor DS I hope he slept OK and is feeling better this morning.

Miamla good luck at the doctors. Your banding sounds a bit I probably shouldn't ask but it sounds like the sort of thing they do to lambs tails???

Oops your ILs are fools I think they are a good advert for having more than one baby if you possibly can (obv I mean their behaviour, not your DH )

Everyone who I have forgotten...sorry and wotcha

Need to get on and get ready, got a driving lesson at 9am. Only two weeks till my first driving test, eek

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 26/10/2009 09:18

Oops your ILs! I thought the comment previously re. dd was explicable if you stretched a point but that is just horrible! Good for your dh btw.

Snot sorry your routine has been disrupted, I sympathise, I really do.

LOTI how is ds doing now?

DP is running the Dublin marathon this morning so we are off to spot him / feed him at mile 21 and then scoop him up at 26.2.

We went to see fireworks yesterday and ds loved them! We hardly ever have him out at night (well 7.30!) so it was a bit of an adventure for him. Can't believe how different things are with ds2. With ds1 he was constantly out to dinner with us, etc. Not sure is it me or them.

MidnightSlayer · 26/10/2009 09:54

I hate school mornings.

Snotmonster · 26/10/2009 12:38

VG wishing your DP lots of luck in the marathon. DH is doing the Singapore one on December 6 and is in training at the moment. He was so sore from his shorts rubbing after yesterday's training run that he had to use some of DS nappy cream

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 26/10/2009 13:50

Good luck to your DH. I believe there is a longer length short if you are blessed with these muscular thighs!

He did heroically well at three hrs 25 mins (which I think is a fantastic time) but is absolutely destroyed now & also disgusted at himself for not beating his personal best, while I am just full of amazement that he has done so well.

Winibaghoul · 26/10/2009 15:11

Hello all.
We're still a house of illness here. dp seems to have escaped though.
MIL has Seb at the moment, and I'm sitting being nostalgic listening to Incubus

Winibaghoul · 26/10/2009 15:29

Hmm switched to placebo now. I'm expecting people to start berating me for bad taste in music soon

Winibaghoul · 26/10/2009 15:40

oh dear they've all gone

iwascyteenagewerewolf · 26/10/2009 16:00

VG very well done to your DH! I am in awe of anyone who even attempts a marathon, am planning to put myself in for a 10k at some point but think that might be about my limit. Likewise Snotmonster's DH, presumably now silky-smooth and rash-free

Hugs and hot Calpol for all the poorly babies, restorative gin hot chocolate for all the tired mummies. We've been out to the local museum today so DS can practice his walking - he loves it so much, it's hilarious Met up with DP and had a nice wander round the galleries. DS now slumbering in pushchair while I slurp some tea and enjoy some p&q.

OOOOOOOOOOOpsacoconut · 26/10/2009 16:08

Afternoon all

I have had a very productive day, errands run for DH, washing done, dishwasher run and repacked, made dinner and took DH lunch. It was all such hard work I needed a nap so DD and I napped for a couple of hours.

DD has taken to the time change quiet well and has somehow managed to sneak in a feed again at 4.30 before going back down until 6 coming with us and sleeping until 7ish.

VG - Well done to your DP I once did a 1/ marathon and swore NEVER again the race wasn't too bad it was the week after when I could barely move that stopped the madness.

Cyteen - it's great to have big safe places fro them to practice walking and it gives them a sense of adventure being somewhere that is not home.

Wini - Hope you are all better soon. My music choice is non existant I listen to what ever is on and turn it up if I like it and off if I don't but I mostly just tune it out!

SazZaVoom · 26/10/2009 16:15

Sounds like bliss cyteen . I am also having tea and Dundee cake on a 5 minute rest break

We have just been and bought DD1's birthday pressie. This pink bike. We have also purchased a black basket for the front as apparently it is imperative that she can carry round her teddies

I have been very productive today with 3 loads of washing, sorted mortgage company, ordered oil and logs, ordered paint for the new sheds, run 5k and done the Sainsbury shop. Phew. Now i just have to pack again for going away to my parents on Weds and i'll be done

snot if you rub vaseline into the parts that may rub on future runs, that will reduce the friction

LOTI sorry to hear of your crap night, ours have been steadily worsening so this morning DD2 who woke at 5.15 remained in her room, went back to sleep after some resistance and then woke at 6.50. I remember trying to crack the early rising with DD1 at about this age and we just can't carry on with so little sleep . Will probably go tits up when we are away again but have to start sometime

MidnightSlayer · 26/10/2009 16:57

Dragging dreadfully today. Nothing bad to report. Well wishes to all.

itshotterinhell · 26/10/2009 16:59

Nice bike Sazz but at the price! DD's bike was found abandoned in the street by her Auntie so was a proper bargain...

Well done MrGardenia and good luck MrSnot I am very impressed by your dedication and your muscles

Oops yay for big naps

Your day sounds fab too cyteen, it's great isn't it when they are soooo proud of themselves after mastering a new skill

We have had a lovely day too, a meet up at our house with old friends and our many children, scoffing buns, sausages and chocolate buttons. The rain kept off so we have been playing in the garden all afternoon and as a bonus the house is still tidy, hurrah I'm ready for a drink though...

SazZaVoom · 26/10/2009 17:29

dizzy MADE me do it hots. Honest

CaptainCaveman · 26/10/2009 18:35

Hey ladies, hope you are all doing ok? I have had to LOL at No1 = Ribena

Enjoyed night out last night, and a peaceful night but man did I feel RAF this morning! No sympathy though as entirely self inflicted . Glad of a night in to recuperate tonight!!

no1 how's M doing now?

Congrats to VGMAN on the marathon .

SAzz you are wonder woman. I've been to work, spent all day with my colleague trying to plan a trajectory for one of our services (a bit like plaiting snot tbh), then come home and vaccuumed. Now knackered!

Kids not back yet - where are my boys?!! Mum left late so they should be home in the next half hour or so. I am missing them

steaknifethroughtheheart · 26/10/2009 19:39

Good evening ladies.

Sounds like some very productive days all round.

Quite a nice day here, baby group in the morning then lunch, mum came to collect the recycling to got to the tip (that is a whole other rant) and then DD and I wandered out in the rain to buy bike helmets as my dad came down on Saturday and brought down a bike with baby seat for us. Sazz's DD1 will be reassured to know that I too have a black basket for teddy carrying.

The best thing about the bike is that it will get us to the tea and cake shop all the faster.

Today is first day of no BFing. Replaced it with beaker of milk and an extra story before nap and bedtime, DD doesn't seem that bothered. I am glad that there hasn't been any fuss, but you know a little fuss might have made been nice.

I do confess that a part of deciding this week was the week was that I can't be doing with having any BFing conversations with Mansteak. So better to avoid them if at all possible and I was ready to stop and it seems DD was too. Hopefully the next couple of days go as smoothly as today.
