hope G feels better soon toffeeapplemum

can I come to the virtual hen night too? saus

M seems to have gone off taking a bottle I usually give her 7oz of formula at about 6.30pm before she falls asleep and goes in her cot 7-7.30pm but the last 2 nights I have BF her instead. I don't know if this is because she is filling up more on food now? She wakes at 10pm and 4-4.30am for feeds and then at about 7am.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 26/10/2009 13:14

flippin thanks.. my frightly appearance didn't matter a jot to lucy (currently 5mths pregnant with her 4th) she was just glad of the cuppa and chat (half term). ds has had a ball playing while we nattered they had to go so now we're having lunch.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 26/10/2009 13:36

looby is she taking bottles at other times? maybe she's decided she likes boobs better? are you using the bottles with a variflow teats or ones you have to change as they get older. we sometimes had to change teat stages early as ds wanted it quicker than it was coming out and got frustrated..

pulapumpkin · 26/10/2009 14:09

Hi all- I'm bored at my mums already so have come to play on the pc! looby- S fed exactly the same as M last night- 10pm, and 4.15am, although he also had a little feed at 6am as well as 7am .

Ladyh- i used to love smelling Ss nappies when he was just BF, but now there is food involved it's not quite so appealing is it? S did a nappy filler this morning- I think the prunes he had yesterday evening helped him release 3 days worth in one go. I was quite excited about his little textured poo yesterday- i didn't realise there was so much more to come .

toffeeapplemum- poor G- hope he gets better soon.

Jael · 26/10/2009 14:33

Hi all, sorry not been around again,
I feel really bad, things are very hectic here, and I'm always so busy, I manage to find time to read but never get around time to posting!

LadyH I did send you a msg via your FB, hope you had a lovely bday, I want to apologise to you, because I've got kind of confused and I thought you had deleted me from your FB, but have now realised that it's Frazz who has, I don't know why, as I'm never around to say much to make someone want to delete me, unless she didn't kno who I am, but hey ho...sorry again. You have the same 1st name, and so I thought it was you...

We went to pick our pumpkin at the farm with DD on Saturday and then went to my fave chinese for tea in the evening, the MIL was up, and that was abit bleugh...but I won't bore you with the details...

Baby J is still having 3 meals a day, milk feeds in between and sleeping through. I haven't read any BLW books, but I'm guessing things I'm doing with J are similar he eats toast, he manages 1/2 a "soldier" at the moment, it's very cute to watch his, suck as suck the bread until its soggy enough for him to chew, and he really does chew it lol. I've also gave his cooked carrot sticks, cucumber, banana for him to eat in his highchair while we have our evening meal. He picks the foods up by himself and puts them to his mouth and from hand to hand, so I think he was more than ready for "real food"
Only problem is were having poo issues, he's pooing two hourly throughout the day and had got very very bad nappy rash, blister and all. The HV has gave me a cream, weve been using it for a week and it's calmed down a little, but I feel for him, I really do. Anyways enough from me.

Waves to everyone XXX

Toffeeapplemmum · 26/10/2009 14:59

Hello everyone again. Well, I'm turning all PFB with DS, and visiting the GP for the 3rd time in 24 hours in 20 mins time because I'm just not happy with his breathing. He is having to try really hard, so much so that his tummy is going right under his ribs. I hate this feeling of lack of control about the situation. Happily DH and DC are still not here, so only me and G to worry about, but it is more difficult to make decisions on your own.

Jael wow, your J is growing up really fast

Pula hope you are being spoiled at your Mums

Looby ditto the advice on teat flow. It could be that she just prefers boobs and/or the food is filling her up ! G was having 3 meals, and definately reduced the amount of milk he was drinking.

Gotta go, off to the Drs.

Jael · 26/10/2009 15:14

geez my spelling was so bad in that post, serves me right for trying to type with J bouncing up and down on my lap!

Sorry to hear your DS is unwell, I'm trying to workout without logging back onto FB your real life name, has your DS has got croupe , I hope I've got the right person, I apologise if not, and is in the household with "lots of sick" hugs so sorry, hope everyone gets well soon. It's definately worth going to get him checked at the doctors if you can see a change in his breathing, for your peace of mind if nothing else. Good luck XX

llaregguBOO · 26/10/2009 15:54

Hello everyone

I'm really struggling to post these days. I start writing posts, get distracted and come back hours later only to delete everything I'd written previously. Life is just so busy at the moment.

Jael Frazz deleted me too, so don't take it personally. She probably just had a tidy up. I do the same from time to time too. Good to read that baby J is doing so well.

Tummum how is little G doing now? I hope the GP is useful. Mine always says to take babies to the GP if you think there is a need.

Looby G is having less milk now and falling asleep earlier and earlier each night. He is eating quite a bit of "solids" so I suspect it is due to that. I am missing his newborn poo thought!

Belgian I wear yoga pants around the house which are really my PJs. I do it so that it looks like I am dressed when really I am not! How are you getting on in your new village? You sound really settled.

Fi well done to your DS and his potty training!

Momino I feel exactly the same about G's poo.

Jennster are your DCs better yet?

I've had a busy day today. It is DS1's birthday tomorrow so my father and step-mother have visited. They brought up 2 christmas hampers full of lovely christmassy food so it looks like I shall be putting all of my baby weight back on very quickly! Our house is now full of christmas goodies, it's great! My step-mother also made some beautiful looking cupcakes for DS's birthday tea.

G is sleeping a lot better but is still waking up every hour or so in the evening before finally settling around 9pm. He then wakes again at 11ish for a feed but then sleeps until 7am with another nap at 9am. His naps are definitely getting more predictable. Weaning is going well but I need to get him some prune juice or similar because I think he is becoming constipated. He loves yoghurt and carrot sticks but doesn't quite know what to make of banana.

Sausage looking forward to the hen party tonight. I shall wear a sparkly top and one shoe in your honour.

ladyH a belated happy birthday to you!

SinisterJenn · 26/10/2009 16:39

running I saw the bedjackets this morning! I looked at them and thought they must have been for incredibly fat children (really).....and then it dawned on me and I thought of us.

flippin momi Oh dear. I don't dream feed as it just seems like one more habit to break at some point, so when dd2 woke at 4.30 I fed her.....but she wanted to talk. I thought perhaps she wanted more milk, but no. She just wanted a cuddle in bed and fell asleep immediately.

Tummum Hope the croup improves soon.

vomit ds went back to nursery this morning, after 6 days off, and lo and behold he was sick again. He's skin and bones now poor thing. He doesn't understand he shouldn't eat and it's very difficult when he's so vocal about it. All 3 of them have had it now over 2 weeks.....

facebook I've just invited a few more people. I'm a fb whore. Feel free to edit me off your list at any point, I just want more friends than dh.

emmabemma I was just thinking about her the other day. ~I'm obviously not friends with her on fb.

Jael · 26/10/2009 16:43

Llare I'm so glad it wasn't just me, I was apologising to LadyH because they had both got the same first name and I thought that she had deleted me, and then felt really bad when I found out that she hadn't, if you get me.

I'd completely got the two ladies mixed up, so have only just seen what LadyH looks like in "real" life, and her beautiful boys, so I feel really bad

SinisterJenn · 26/10/2009 16:48

Jael I've been deleted too. Hey ho.

SinisterJenn · 26/10/2009 17:17

OMG dd2 has just grabbed a bread stick from ds and is having a good chew

llaregguBOO · 26/10/2009 18:01

Wa-hey, Jenn!

HeadlessLadyH · 26/10/2009 18:56

No prob jael. You are completely forgiven! I get soooo confused on FB too as to who is who. I spent about an hour this very morning sorting out who I hadn't got on as a friend and who was. I must admit I was thinking about a spring clean too but I think I am now just about there with who is who so hopefully won't delete anyone who is still around.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes too.

Are we all getting ready for the virtual hen night? Do I need to put the lippy back on?
( The sexy builder never turned up BTW . So he'll be a no show tonight I'm afraid, ladies.)

llare LOL at your one shoe outfit. Good to see you, and love the sound of those hampers. You've done so well with losing the baby weight, I reckon you can treat yourself every now and again.

R had a strawberry and a scotch pancake for supper tonight. His face is a picture when he experiences a new taste for the first time. I think he ate most of the strawberry and had a good gum of the pancake. I must admit that its quite difficult not to panic every time he gags a bit but every time, whatever he has in his mouth either comes out or he eventually swallows it.

FrightNightFebes · 26/10/2009 19:30

Evening. Have we started the Hen's night?? I have had a glass of red so maybe I've started. I'm not drinking through a penis straw though .

I had a fairly mad day. I think R is on a growth spurt or teething again as he hardly slept and wanted to feed and/ or be held all day. Luckily DH was home in time for dinner and bathtime so they were both down in good time.

DD's best friend came for a play date today while his mum had an errand to run so she is having DD tomorrow morning so I will take R to BF group just the 2 of us.

Headless I'm not your fb friend so I will try to find you.

Toffee Hope you like SIL painting. What did the doc say about G? I hope he better tonight.

Jael · 26/10/2009 19:39

I must say LadyH you're alot braver than me! J has had a few "whole" foods like I said in my previous post, but I'm not very daring, I gave him a piece of pasta from our dinner tonight and he didn't seem interested, but i'll give him a piece another day when we have it. I'm not against BLW at all. I give him "whole" foods, but ones that I feel safe with if you get me lol J is having porrige for breakfast, and homemade puree's for lunch and tea, so far he's only had carrot, butternut squash and sweet potato and for puddings banana, apple and pear...were going to try brocolli+parsnip this week, once he's tried each taster individually we can then mix them...

TheDemonicButDandyLioness · 26/10/2009 19:49

Hello, heard via FB that Sausage is having her virtual hen night and so am popping in to help her celebrate.

Just had a check to see if frazzled (or anyone else) had fb culled me as well. Ironic that you were taking it personally, Jael, seeing as you deleted me And I suspect that was personal

Moving swiftly on -

I gave up bf completely last week, or to be more accurate - DS did. I then went out four nights out of the seven. Had a brilliant night out for a friend's birthday on Friday. One of the women there arranged with the very large bar and restaurant we were at to let us have a lock-in. They put the music back on for us - eight women - and we danced around. Much prosecco was consumed. And then shots. We stayed until 2:30am. I have embarrassing flashbacks of me 'performing' a song from Dirty Dancing, complete with cocktail masher I'd borrowed from the as improv microphone, while my friend clapped. Finally staggered in around 4am. Haven't had a night out like that for AAGGESSS.

ladyH One of my nights out last week was to see Natasha Cooper talk about writing and recent scientific research into criminal behaviour. I thought of you because I first heard of her via a recommendation you made on an MN adult fiction thread we were both on. I went with a friend who is a criminal defence barrister and we both thought it was very interesting. If you ever get the chance to hear her speak, do.

By the way, for a short while I thought the adult fiction section of this site meant erotic fiction

FrightNightFebes · 26/10/2009 19:56

Demonic Hi was wondering where you were- off having a life I see . Sounds like a brilliant party. I love girls nights out- much better than with the menfolk.

I'm going to have to go and check my friend list on fb now.....

TrickOrTReggiee · 26/10/2009 20:02

. Hello .

I'll eat my tea then takeover behind the bar if you want. Have quite a bit of catching up to do methinks.

FrightNightFebes · 26/10/2009 20:08

Just had a fb cull. None of you lovelies but some other people I'm not sure how they got on my list. I have requested you headless at least I hope its you .

FrightNightFebes · 26/10/2009 20:08

Less than 30 posts left....

EtherealFiByTheSea · 26/10/2009 20:09

sausagemonstermash · 26/10/2009 20:26

Helloooooooooooooo hen night soooooon! We've just ordered pizza so will be back after that!

Demonic - OMG that night out sounds superb! Count me in next time!

Headless- I have your fb friend request, but it won't let me accept it!! Gawd knows why, will kep trying. I thought that was you, but wasn't sure.. and boooo re your builder. Sounds like he needs reprimanding (fnar)

BTW should we start a new thread?

TheDemonicButDandyLioness · 26/10/2009 20:30

sausage the amazing thing was that it took place at a Waterloo bar - can't believe the staff let us have a lock in. My friend who arranged it is quite amazing at getting the party started though

virtual hen night mwah mwah air kisses to saus febes and reggie and anyone else who is about.

Should we kidnap headless's builder and serve him bound and gagged to sausage on a silver platter as the night's entertainment?

flippineckitsabitspooky · 26/10/2009 20:32

Evening! Sat here in my comfy slippers and best spangly clothes. And a cuppa cocktail .

We'd better think of new thread title. How about 'May 2009: Brides and bibs'

alert - I just watched Eastenders, haven't done properly for years but have been dipping in and out a bit whilst getting A setled for bed. Anyway, the Hev and Darren bit made my chin wobble a bit . Luckily DH is out, I'd never hear the end of it if he'd seen me.

After I'd psyched myself up to call the HV last week, she hasn't phoned back like her colleague promised .
