HeadlessLadyH · 25/10/2009 17:59

Am totally stuffed following a huuuuggge roast dinner. Back on the old diet tomorrow methinks.

I love my Uggs. They are the cardi ones. They are so lovely to put your feet in. You don't need to wear socks at all. At the mo am too scared to wear them out of the house!

reebee good luck with packing. Hope your computer feels better soon.

momi agree its not awful to leave them crying now. I couldn't do it in the early days, but I think its ok now provided they are ok IYSWIK.

I seem to remember emmabemma mentionning something about her DH before she kind of disappeared but still at her news.

Re facebook, saus I don't think we are FB friends yet. I have no idea of anyone's RL names tho! If you can saus, and anyone else who I'm not FB friends with yet, can you be my friend please???!!!!

And yay, sexy builder back tomorrow to finish the floor. So have invited some of my friends round for coffee and an ogle! Anyone else fancy coming???? Perhaps I should kidnap him, strip him and keep him for saus 's virtual hen night as our entertainment.

Salemchocolates · 25/10/2009 18:37

Headless! Also sounds like you're having a lovely b'day. Uggs are lovely. I've got some cheap fake ones and lived in them last winter.

saus I'm up for a virtual hen night too. Dh will probably have to work a night, so...

at the Emmabemma's news. I don't think I'm her fb friend, because I hadn't seen it. I also remember her mentioning problems with her DH. When I told my DH he said that she was probably on MN too much and let it be a warning for me

flippin how are your dds? Has the sickness subsided?

reebee Hope your computer is fixed soon. I know how you feel re the packing. I went through it in aug. 3 days between packing and going, because of my planned visit to my parents.

How are everyone's los adapting to the change of the clocks. My dcs are very tired at the moment, but telly is keeping them occupied. I'll bath them in half an hour or so too. I made C have a nap at 4.30 new time too or she'd have been ready for bed at 6, which is way too early.

C had a better night tonight. She's also started a new thing at nap time: screaming. Yes, as soon as I put her in her sleeping bag she starts screaming in a loud, high pitched angry voice. After about 15min of angry protests she then takes her thumb, calms down and falls asleep.

I'm also in trouble with DH because of the wardrobe I bought while I was pregnant. It doesn't fit in the dcs new room here, unless we cut the legs off. He said I shouldn't have bought the wardrobe and I should have hung on and made do until we had moved house. He just doesn't understand how a nesting pregnant woman needs to have everything perfect for the new baby. Still, it's no good to have to cut the legs of a £500 wardrobe

FrightNightFebes · 25/10/2009 18:45

Both my DCs were in bed at 6 as they are normally in bed at about 6.40 so were getting really tired. I guess I'll have to slowly adjust them over the week. At least DD normally wakes at 8am so It shouldn't be too early a morning tomorrow.

Salem Oh no about the wardrobe. Can you put it in another room for now??

sausagemonstermash · 25/10/2009 20:11

We'd had trouble with the clock change too. Grrr.

Dp has scared the willies out of me - he tried to bang a nail into a wall in the kitchen - burst a pipe - had to call a plumber out, who has ripped out the pipes, so the wall needs replastering and painting...!!! He was 1cm away from an electrical mains wire. FGS I've nearly been sick with worry. MEN!!!!!!!

Re virtual hen night... I shall be sitting in front of laptop tom pm avec un grand glass of vino. Wooooh! Headless take a subtle pic of sexybuilderman!!!!

Headless - will fb friend you... but I don't know your name in RL either! Are you on the MN group list? Does anyone know?! Am v of the cardi uggs. I have £15 fake jobs from Marksies. Pah.

Ooooh dinnertime. Back later laydeeeez

Salemchocolates · 25/10/2009 20:12

Well, I told DH that maybe we should put it in the ap's room and then the ap's wardrobe, which is actually 2 single wardrobes, can be split and put in the dcs room, but he doesn't want that. So if he wants to make his own life more difficult, then that's up to him. I'm desperate for the dcs to have a wardrobe though. They're still living out of suitcased and their clothes are spread out over their bedroom floor, no matter how often I put them back.

C's only just gone back to sleep, even though she's been in bed since 7.15 or so. She was tired, but crying and crying. I hope she's not going to start making that a regular thing, because I used to be able to just close the door and walk away.

Going to have a drink now after all that and watch the x-factor result show, without DH with me because he had to go out to work.

Salemchocolates · 25/10/2009 20:14

Sorry, that was me me. But being home alone again I need to talk to someone, even if they're virtual

ScarySpangleMaker · 25/10/2009 20:21

We haven't done badly with the clock change. When H woke up this morning it was 7am by my phone, and I thought 'oh no, it's really 6am!' but it turned out my phone had updated the time automatically, so it was actually 8am old time . This evening we included H in our evening meal (he had roast pumpkin and sweet potato and appeared to actually consume some of it) which was later than planned, so he ended up going to sleep at 7.45pm (8.45pm old time). So hopefully he will be back on his normal schedule tomorrow.

Happy birthday LadyH The cardi uggs look so comfy. I just can't do Uggs with my legs though.

Salem I'm sure the wardrobe will look fine without legs. I am envious of those of you who did nesting - I was just getting down to it when H made his appearance.

I haven't seen emmabemma's news but from what you're all saying it doesn't sound good

OP posts:
ScarySpangleMaker · 25/10/2009 20:25

Salem not sure if you could do it by yourself, but could you move the wardrobes where you want them then say to your DH he can shift them if he wants to? He won't I'm sure.

If you can't shift them yourself maybe Headless will lend you her nice builder

OP posts:
Salemchocolates · 25/10/2009 20:35

spangle Brilliant idea! Headless Can you send your builder over here! But no, seriously. The ap's room is on the middle floor and the dcs are in the attic room, so no way I could lug the wardrobe up there myself. They would need taking apart before they could go up there.

FrightNightFebes · 25/10/2009 20:37

Spangle We had a proper family meal today. Roast pork with all the trimmings and DD ate chunks of pork which made me really proud, she also had all the vege and some icecream afterwards. R ate apple and pear puree and then helped himself to some roast sweet potato.

pulapumpkin · 25/10/2009 20:40

Re. emmabemmasmom- a while ago she started a thread in relationships which ended with her DH leaving or her kicking him out. Then on FB it looked like they had got back together but now it is definitely over .

We got the DCs to bed by 6.30 tonight rather than the usual 7pm as we spent the day doing things half an hour "early" to get them gradually on to the new time.

Monstermomi · 25/10/2009 20:47

Hi all. am actually in bed already! I'm worried I'm coming down with something dd1 is coming down with . she's been coughing all over everyone even though I remind her every, every time she coughs to please cover her mouth. she even coughed in Harper's face today.

so I thought and early sleep would do me good. so. what am I doing on MN then?

salem, that's too bad about your wardrobe. but I'm sure you'll figure something out.

LadyH, hope you had a great day.

Spangle, H is doing so well with eating. I really want tomake roast pumpkin. there are enough about since Halloween is next week. I'd better get one before they all disappear into lanterns.

H would love pumpkin I think. she got really excited over mashed carrot today and ate quite a bit. she even insisted (in her baby way) on holding the spoon. but, do you know what pathetically makes me sad about weaning and this carrot? now, she will not have the virgin BF yellow poo, strangely sweet-smelling nappies any longer. aren't I really odd to be wistful about that?

sausage, about your DP's incident. at least he didn't hit a wire, thank god. phew. don't think about it any longer.

Pula, you're prob gone but if you're reading this, hope you have a good few days.

well am going to pass the laptop over to dh as I usually monopolise it. should be sleeping anyway. good night!

Monstermomi · 25/10/2009 20:48

pula, xposted

ScarySpangleMaker · 25/10/2009 21:08

pula thanks for the update. I remember emmabemma's thread and hoping it was just some jitters over having a new baby. I hope she is ok.

momino Enjoy your early night. I will miss the inoffensive poo. I'm to say I examine H's nappies to see if there is any evidence of him having eaten anything. If DH changes him, he shouts out 'H, we better get Mummy the Poo Inspector to see this one!' Oh dear.

ScarySpangleMaker · 25/10/2009 21:09

Febes Roast pork with all the trimmings I could just eat a nice bit of crackling!

pulapumpkin · 25/10/2009 21:13

poos- I was very excited when S did his first "proper" poo today - partly because I was worried he was constipated as he hadn't done one after 3 days of weaning, and partly because he used to get very upset about poos and this one came out without any obvious upset. I had to call DH to come and look and share the moment . But yes, it's just another sign that our LOs are growing up .

EtherealFiByTheSea · 25/10/2009 21:24

evening trying to catch up and failing miserably as i'm too tired to read properly so just had a quick skim...

LadyH happy birthday sounds like you had a goodun and i'll be your fb friend too email me at creative.textiles at btinternet.com and i'll find you on facebook... if you're not a member of our secret group i can send you an invite also and you'll find many of us there..

EtherealFiByTheSea · 25/10/2009 21:32

uggs love'em but in the end i got a pair of celtic sheepskin ones... same look/quality (have compared both up close) but without paying the extra for the ugg name.. I bought ds a pair of their kids ones last winter and they lasted him until recently when his feet grew out of them, he's loved them so much we're buying a new pair for this winter. They don't do cardi or their new knit one though just the all over sheepskin ones.

flippineckitsabitspooky · 25/10/2009 21:36

at the builder being hen night entertainment. How shocking. We're all responsible mothers. Count me in!!!

salem - what a pain about the wardrobe, hope you find a solution.

saus - nightmare about the pipe!

lol at the poo excitement! I remember this from DD1. Still no food for A here, I'm just looking online for a high chair for her. DD1 has a tripp trapp and we're getting one for A too.

Nightmare clocks! DD1 was obviously feeling much better this morning (no vomit overnight, thank goodness) - she was up at 5:30. The was for DH though, he got up with her as I'd been up with A twice in the night. DD1 has been fine today, a bit tired and a bit whiny and still coughing, but no temperature of vomitting. A is still incredibly snotty, but I think it's teething not illness.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 25/10/2009 21:40

talking of poos ds did his 1st one on the potty today!!!! both dh & I were out of the room at the time (i was making dinner in the kitchen & dh was in our bedroom) and he came running through to the kitchen (ds that is) proudly proclaiming what he'd managed to do and I had to come quick... both dh & I made a big fuss of him and he was so funny as he was happy but also stood next to the potty pointing with one hand and holding his nose with the other saying 'it's smelly' lol

flippineckitsabitspooky · 25/10/2009 21:44

ladyh - I'll be your friend!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 25/10/2009 21:48

snot sucker is a very useful thing... the one we've got is part of a essential baby care kit (that has baby scissors etc) but it looks kinda like this one

EtherealFiByTheSea · 25/10/2009 21:50

flippin hope tonight is better for you

EtherealFiByTheSea · 25/10/2009 21:51

count me in on the virtual 'do' tomorrow!

Salemchocolates · 25/10/2009 21:54

watching doc martin at the moment. I know it's supposed to be a kind of comedy, but their portrayel of that mw is really getting on my nerves.

lol at the poo excitement. C still has lovely yellow poos for now.

sausage Forgot. How annoying about your wall. Mind you, it might not be totally his fault. In our old house the wiring ran diagonally across the wall. Something we only discovered when we redid it for our new kitchen. DH also missed a live wire by mils because of it. Very very scary stuff indeed!
