heya!

I think we have our first tooth there's a little white tip on the gum at the bottom left. Watch this space!

The new thread will be something like june09 first birthdays coming up and we're on the move! we could start it on sunday for mothers day?

Tomorrow we're going to get some baby imprints done, we'd bought a diy kit but it's come out a bit weird and I've always wanted a nice one like they had on display at the baby show last year.

Dh under duress promised to make mother's day special for me, but somehow now we're having mil, sil&bf & bil over for lunch instead. Argh. I really wanted this day to be about me because I won't ever get another first mother's day iyswim and now it'll all be about sil (her bday) and mil (overbearing "memememe" type of person- who by the way dh never bothered to invite over the past three years why bother now?).
I had visions of us three going to the park for a picnic or something and now I have nightmare visions of mil and sil constantly in babe's face overstimulating her until she cries and won't sleep and then having to do all the washing up after a big roast dinner where dh will have used every pot and pan available.
I just wanted to have a nice chill day, go out for dinner come back to a nice clean home and have a nice cup of tea in front of the telly
(I realise I sound selfish and borderline childish about the whole issue, I'm sure it'll be lovely ).

We had C weighed on thursday and what with the throat infection, teething and bad cold she has lost a pound now on the 9th percentile). The HV said she will refer us to a nursery nurse who should be coming to see us at dinner time sometime to see how C. is doing then. It worried me a little bit.

and then I read a paragraph in the AK book about babies from around 9 months to a year which describes just what C is like at the moment (weight slowing down, not interested in puree or lumps, prefers to feed herself, teething etc etc etc) which was really comforting to know this is normal. Why couldn't the HV tell me this.

laura fingers crossed for you honey
I am planning on having my hair cut, and a trip to the beauty salon at some point soon while C is at nursery, so far though it's been work work work while she has been away.
The mornings fly, 5 hours is nothing.

skies do you have pics of the christening?
gauchita and venetian hope you're having a smashing time :D
mrsmc how is it going, not heard from you in a little while?
bigcar it is funny how they all do different things isn't it. c has been sitting for ages but does not try and climb onto anything at all.

skillbo hope the napping is better? C not being well we've been doing lots of co-sleeping at night, she has been better at napping at the end of this week.

effie hope R gets better soon! How are you both coping with the bf being over? It's nice that you were able to do it this time round Ho did the mother group go? We've been meeting up every week with our nct class and I really look forward to it every time, we were very lucky that we were suited like that, we seem to all really get on.

snow, sam, doris and the ones I forgot (sorry!) how is it going!

And to all: Have a lovely day on sunday :D

Hi all!!

Ohhh the city at last! I'm five hours behind here so it's only 7.12 but M's up so I managed to catch up with you all while the grandparents look after drool over her

June, oh I'm very similar to you in that area and I would be ranting as well Of course it was your day and besides, you made it clear, so I understand why you feel it's disappointing your DH has now invited his family instead. Is there a way you could maybe arrange with him to have lunch with them and then do something just the three of you? or vice versa, have lunch just the three of you and leave the other plan for dinner? Sorry if I'm being nosy and you've tried this already Hope C's feeling better now, M had lots of snot before coming. Apparently their colds go relatively quickly but the snot stays for longer My HV told me that she'd lose a bit of weight once she started being on the move a bit more as that would make her burn more calories and as she was teething she would probably be eating just OK-ish so I guess that could be happening to C? I haven't had M weighted for months now I should do it when I get back.

Bigcar, how frustrating for you I do hope you get some answers as to why you've had to sort out a riddle instead of just reading your notes. As you say, the whole process will be healing, just hope you can go through it a bit more smoothly from now on. Glad to hear E's chest has been clear!! Yay!! and well done on moving among the furniture as well

Effie, I'm sure those grey-looking bras have been burnt already, right? I was not smart and just bought 2 from the beginning so they're embarrassing now Glad to hear about the mums group, that sounds great, having other mums who are going through the same thing How are the LOs feeling? Hope they're on the mend.

Strawberry, my fellow leaker I'm a bit better now but still wake up sometimes with white-looking PJs How's L's sleep these days? Hope it's a bit better and you're getting a bit more rest.

Laura, fingers crossed for you here! How cute is S doing peek-a-boo! We do something similar here (the "Where's M?" version) and she just cracks up! How's work?

Hi to all Juners!

Well, I'm all better now, there were a few days of just rice, cheese and bread but it's paid off. A bit odd seeing everyone enjoy great dishes while I munched on my plain rice

The days on the beach were really nice. Jeez, the sun here is unforgiving! It can get quite humid as well and you just can't get up I put on SPF 80 on M and several times a day as I was not sure whether she had enough

She enjoyed splashing around in the pool and even the sand and sea-water so that was good

We're now back in the city and back online . It's typical, I was away from any internet connection and I got 6 work-related emails! 4 from new agencies! Anyway...

Oh, June it seems M and C are about to get their first tooth! M's lower gum looks as if one is about to cut through as well!

M's turning 9mths tomorrow so my parents are making a small big thing of it and are making a special meal, having my sister and nephew over etc. I also told them it's mother's day in the UK and that although here is in May I won't be here then so I can't just not have a mother's day altogether because of that Let's hope DH has taken all the hints

So tomorrow we have a new thread then? I think it's a great idea

Hope you have a great weekend, lovely Juners! And a lovely lovely mother's day tomorrow

Waves!!!

afternoon ladies

june, I have a few um ishoos with my notes None are actually missing, one of my folders is with the midwife who went through Es birth notes so they have not been copied, because obviously when someone asks for copies you wouldn't automatically checked all files were there to start off with. And then there are the pages missing from my copy or rather pages that were missed because someone wasn't taking any care to make sure every page was copied, I know they are there because of the dodgy copying and some of the corners turned over so can see they were in my file and of course they are the pages that cover dd3s actual birth. Then of course then there's the fact that the notes are in absolutely no order, like they were dropped on the floor and hastily shuffled back together so I have spent hours trying to get them into some sort of order myself. Followed by the fact that a lot of the pages weren't copied flat on the screen so are either black or so warped they are unreadable. My main task this weekend is to write a letter and send a lot of the pages back [brainache] oh the fun! Have you sorted yours out yet?

sorry to hear of dh changing plans for tomorrow, not really on if he's promised you a quiet day with just the three of you. You'll have to beat him to a pulp persuade him to do something nice next weekend instead to make up for it

if it's any consolation my dd1 went through a stage just before she was one of only eating yoghurt and only if she could feed herself, I didn't get her weighed at the time but I'm sure if I had have, she'd have been a little lighter. Hope all goes well with your meeting

effie, hope all's going well, how was the group? skips????? seriously???? washed down with a fruitshoot presumably I once saw someone feeding their 10 month old discos [judgeypants] I would personally choose not to, they eat enough crap when they are older! Hope Rs a little better now

laura, I have everything crossed for you! From what I remember you did try hard with bf, you had a tough time

strawberry, how's L doing?

gauchita, your holiday sounds great so far, we're still all in winter coats, enjoy some of that sun for us, maybe you could send a bit of it our way How lovely your parents are to make a fuss of M tomorrow, bet she's loving being with the gps

hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrow, especially those on their first waves to all
