Lilyloooohhhh · 27/10/2009 18:25

Simps glad it looks like insurance going to sort it.
My dada recently had really bad leak from upstairs flat , he had full house redecoration , carpets , plastering etc
They paid for him to stay in a hotel for a week while it was done so push for that , might as well get something for your inconvenience.
Make sure you claim for everything too as they will likely try to wangle out of things!!

MM had no idea , no experience but can only say what amazing friends you have!

Just back from caravan so catching up with laundry etc and just popping in to see you all.
M loved it but wanted to be up in the arcades all the time. Not remotely interested in the shows put on for kids in the evening. L loves them so me and dp spent most of the weekend apart with one or the other!!!
Still nice to have break from humdrum!

Hi to everyone else

simpson · 27/10/2009 18:53

LaT - cheers for warning. I think they have a monitor on (and fans too) so insurance company can tell how much is used then pay it iyswim.

Lilyloo - bloke today said they would put us up in hotel for 2wks but TBH would rather decamp to my mums which is a home from home for kids iyswim. Although hassle is going to be getting J to and fro for school

Just don't want hassle of trying to feed kids in hotel iyswim.

Plumber gone and the emergency call out on Sunday was £300, Monday was £500 and today £700

AngeChica · 27/10/2009 19:23

Sorry for house woes Simps. You'll be best off att your mum's.

Just going to have a little moan here... Sorry if TMI! DS started vomiting last night - gave me a bit of a shock really as he hasn't ever been sick since he was a baby! Then I started feeling poorly too. Poor DS didn't know what was happening to him, so I was cuddling him & trying to comfort him, when I started being sick myself. I shouted for DH but despite DS being really upset and frightened DH still couldn't bring himself to come in and take DS away from me. He just can't deal with sick at all!! I had to do all the clearing up myself despite feeling dreadful. Have been in bed most of today, DS has perked up but eaten very little. DH said he couldn't get to sleep til 3am as the sicght and smell of the sick had churned his stomach up, and has stuck DS in front of CBeebies for a large part of the day.

Rant over - as you were.

Lilyloooohhhh · 27/10/2009 21:26

Oh Ange , i remember one night where ds was being sick over my head whilst i was being sick
I can't stand vomit either so sympathy for dh but hope he let you rest in between!!!
Fingers crossed it passed by tom!
We going to halloween craft day at toddlers tom!!

simpson · 28/10/2009 17:32

Hi all

Ange - hope you and A feel better today...

M had lots of temper tantrums today

Will be glad when half term is over TBH.

Yet more house insurance people coming on saturday to assess damage...

Bad mummy alert

Did not realise that J was in the local paper last wk The Gazette takes pics of all the local reception clesses.

I used to work for Gazette so rang contacts and have managed to get 2 copies.

Pity I did not realise yesterday as new Gazette out on Wed iyswim.

MrsMcJnr · 28/10/2009 22:05

Another change to the lay out of MN don?t like change much!

It really is a relief to hear that the other toddlers are being obstinate too. I remember when Xavier was about 8 months old looking at him and wondering if I could ever be angry with him, now I know . It?s the defiant look in his eyes when I tell him not to do something for the umpteenth time that sends me into orbit ? that and him imitating his sister crying. I think I need anger management classes

Simpson ? when we got flooded we moved into an apartment within a hotel because we wanted to have more than one room and to cook ourselves etc. The insurance company covered that, the packing, removal and storage of all our stuff, the humidifiers and resulting costs, the cattery for our pets and the repainting of the place after the repairs and replacement carpets. It was a stressful time and that was before kids so I do feel for you. M sounds sweet Xavier drops things on purpose and then shouts ?oh dear!? I?ve tried to explain that that is not quite the concept how annoying about the physio appointment hope you are enjoying the wine

LaT ? sounded like an exhausting morning for you, these toddlers hey! I used to threaten Xavier with the play pen and that was very effective but I need it for A now and don?t want him in there so I am trying to come up with another prison but have not been very successful to date don?t want to use his room as it has been hard enough getting him to settle in there after we moved him from his cot to his bed. A naughty step just doesn?t work as he gets up and walks away

Hey Lilyloo

Angechica ? hope you and DS are feeling much, much better.

Xavier was so funny in the car today, we were listening to a CD which he was enjoying (my Mum?s car and it was the new Cliff Richard CD ) and every time there was a pause between songs he?d shout ?more, more, more?.

simpson · 28/10/2009 22:22

Mrs Mcjnr - let me know if you come up with a good idea to put Xavier into. As I desperately need a "prison" for M.

Can't use travel cot as she thinks its a bouncy castle and enjoys going in it which defeats object if its time out iyswim.

Naughty step not working here either

Need to be able to separate kids when they row

On the insurance front am staying at my mums while work done but hopefully only while bathroom floor up, I want to stay here as long as poss iyswim. Insurance co today said they will give me compensation for upheaval

But Saturday is D day as lots of assessors round to see what is what iyswim

And people to quote for work to be done

Gingemeeeklookatthatspider · 29/10/2009 11:55

Hi all.
We have a naughty corner but that gets hard because when one goes in it the other two go and chat to him I put David in the the corner last night and George joined him I someimes give them time out in my room which generaly works because its 'boring' in there.
David has been having a crash course of swimming lessons this week. He is doing so well and swam on his own today
The big boys have been a great help with this because DH is doing his exams this week so they have been looking after the little ones while I take David to the pool.
Halloween party this afternoon. Im realy looking forward it so I can dress the boys up and doing the make up.
Right off for some lunch now.
Take care all xx

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 29/10/2009 14:46

I do find putting Sabela in the kitchen useful (ie away from me, with the door closed but a door she can see through). She tends to get the mesaage at least for a little while. It stopped her touching the TV for a few weeks. She's back at it now though.

As safety gate between two rooms might have the same effect?

We're away at the momnet at Dad's - Sabela was a little angel on the train and has even slept well.

She's eaten well too except for this lunchtime when I gave her favourite food but ever so slightly different from usual so she didn't eat it. It dirves me nuts when she does that so she got a real telling off. Then she did a poo just before nap and I felt bad. She was probably not eating because she knew she needed to go [bad mummy emoticopn]

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 29/10/2009 15:00

BTW - have given Sabela her last Christmas present. It was here and we had nothing to play with (or little ). She'll be just as pleased when she sees it again at Christmas!

It's the Duplo house, remember? Well, I like outting it together and she likes taking it apart so we do that for a pretty long time. I like it but I must say I think it's a rip off for £50. I'm really glad I didn't pay for it!

I'm now already planning a doll's house for when she's three. I wonder when I'l ACTUALLY give it to her? Probably next week!

simpson · 29/10/2009 15:43

Happy Christmas to sabela

On the dolls house front have just ordered one for M (before we went away) so should be here any day now.

Its wooden and has her name painted on the roof.

I will get it to her next Christmas.

Was a bargain reduced from £100 to £40...

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 29/10/2009 20:24

Where did you get it from? Where! Where!

nicky6 · 29/10/2009 20:29

hi all. things much better here after a hideous few weeks after going back to the doctors 8 million times they finally agreed that noah has a viral chest infection and is struggling breathing and prescribed some acid suppressant to help digestion. within 48 hrs like a different child 3oz bottles are now 7oz bottles and awful cough and phlegm disappeared hooray and he slept 7pm til midnight feed then through to 7am hooray hooray especially as dh did 12pm so i slept all night wonderful.

charlie funny this morning i had just had a shower and was not dressed she said to me "mummy get dressed you'll get cold, get dressed be nice and warm and toasty good girl

very funny. she has also started memorising the books we read bfore bed so now announces after i've read it mummy i read it now and then goes through turning the pages saying bits and pieces of the story hilarious. although i can hear her singing still in her bed - GO TO SLEEP.

Anyway hope everyone well. Mrs Mc remember it all gets easier and harder!!!!

nicky6 · 29/10/2009 20:33

re bad behaviour i grab charlie by the arms sit her on the settee and wont let her move, explain why naughty she says ok ok ok and then after a minute she is allowed to get down works for abit.

very pleased with her today as when driving back from my mums she told me she needed a wee and waited until i pulled the car over and then did a wee at the side of the road and said thats better.

simpson · 29/10/2009 20:36

LOL at Charlie When M went to bed this eve I could hear her chatting away saying "no smack bottom mummy" as we have a game where I pretend to smack her bum and she says no...she finds it hilarious

Poor Noah.

LaT - Can't do links sorry but the company is 24studio.co.uk

Only problem with them is they credit check you then invoice, you can't pre pay iyswim.

But house looks lovely and comes with furniture/dolls etc.

simpson · 29/10/2009 20:39

LaT - if you go on website and look at toys then go to personalised toys its on the main page iyswim

AngeChica · 29/10/2009 21:37

all better here thanks. Been having a big clear out today, freecycling, going to tip, etc.

Alek does the defiant / naughty thing too MrsMc. I also sit him on the sofa for a minute as per Nicky. He gets worse if bored, he starts smacking me (does anyone else's DS do this?) - that's why we play out / walk a lot. He will actually get his wellies and try and drag me out most days.

Charlie is a such a clever girl nicky! As is David with his wimming Gingeme! Am glad Noah is on the mend.

just to say tonight is A's first night in his new big boy bed. really hits home that he's not a baby any more. have put travel stair gate over bedroom door as our bannister is too curvy and awkward for a top stair gate. He curled up and went to sleep no probs though! let's see what the rest of the night brings .

Well DH put the cot away in the garage instead of freecycling it ... i guess thats a start.

Lily the restuarant is worth watching. real cringe telly!

AngeChica · 29/10/2009 21:38

SWIMMING

Lilyloooohhhh · 29/10/2009 21:55

Ange got it saved up for M's nap tom!
I am hoping to do M some naps in the bottom bunk in L's room before moving her in there. Problem being L likes sleeping in bottom bunk any ideas ?

Simps i looking at getting the dc's some personalised pj's from there and some stocking fillers. Have they been ok ?

Nicky poor Noah why don't they listen to mum ??

MrsM at X loving Cliff

LaT happy xmas to Sabela again don't bother with dolls house L or M not really bothered yet!!! You are going to have to do your xmas shopping xmas eve so S doesn't get everything before

Gingeme well done to David It's a great skill to learn. L isn't that keen on her lessons but we are persevering.

MM how are you ? Did you get support on your thread ? Hope you ok.....

JKS where are you ? Hope the silence means your nanny is doing well and you and T are off out and about .....

Nothing much happeneing here. Went to halloween day at toddlers yesterday. Dressed window and did our pumpkin today. Getting kids outfits ready tom in preperation for Trick or Treat on Sat! Nay also visit Blackpool illuminations this weekend depending on time!

MrsMcJnr · 29/10/2009 23:16

Had a quick skim but no time to post tonight just wanted to say that I am so impressed with the sentences that some of the toddlers are using, X has quite a lot of words now but that's it. Anyone have a boy who talks lots?

Ange - X can get aggressive too. I've heard that it is a frustration thing with boys because they often cannot communicate as well as girls.

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 30/10/2009 08:09

She's not getting any MORE presents! She might just get the Duplo wrapped up. She won't have seen it for two months, so...

Now does everyone believe me? ......

How is Noah this morning?

House looks great Simpson. Tempted.

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 30/10/2009 08:09

LATrucha just can't resist anymore.....

Peeks head round door grinning.......

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 30/10/2009 08:10

Far too early to tell anyone really......

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 30/10/2009 08:10

Only a week late....

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 30/10/2009 08:10
