Yes JKS I second what Lillyloo said about informing the hospital. Did they mention this might happen ?
Yes LaT they keep winding ds3 up and making him cry ds1 is supposed to be studying too but is totaly ignoring me when I 'remind' him .....
Well George thoroughly enjoyed running round Ikea this morning. Not sure the couple he nearly knocked over did though
Well time for some dinner now. Hope your all well.

A has also had nasty cough since Christmas eve and we are both shattered as it wakes him lots in night. Been docs to check it's not a chest infection.

MIL has gone now (secret ).

We ARE going to London on Sat night: child free meal, theatre and hotel !!

Morning ladies,

Thx for the kind words re: DH. He made up for it though as we had such a lovely weekend.

Boxing Day they trooped off to in laws so I done some studying and started my Desperate Housewives box set.

Sunday we went to the theatre in the morning to see a Jack and The Beanstalk show... it was just 45 mins and they loved it although E was a little scared at parts.

DH spent lots of time playing with the DC and more than made up for Xmas day.

NYE we were supposed to be going to the cinema to see the new sherlock holmes film but S decided that he actually couldnt wait to sleep on his new Ben 10 blow up bed at nana's so they are going today instead so we will just get a tke away and stay in.

DS1 just said a lovely thing, he was getting dressed and he came in and I said I would tuck his vest in and he said he already done it and I said he was getting so big and what was I going to do as I like doing things for him and he said "don't worry, you can help Ediz he is a baby still and I am a big boy". Made me well up a bit.

JKS - hope you get some answers and MM glad DH is better.

We cleared out the boys room yesterday and hae moved their completely full book shelf to the study.

Only immediate family buy for the kids so they will ask what to buy and I will tell them what we need so hopefully we shouldnt end up with too much.

Lol at Ikea selling out of trofast storage

JKS would def mention to hospital , sounds like he unhappy , hopefully just getting resettled and will feel better tom. We are going to a neighbours for house party for NYE.

Ginge i keep mine up until after new year , may take it down this Sunday.

MM you very organised doing letters already!!

Simps and Ange MCity won too so dp and ds went to bed happy!

LaT you should get the hamsters no problem in Spain , everyone was ordering them from there as they were cheaper. They do the hamsters in a set with house , wheel , slide etc.

Yes we are very lucky to have a lovely street where we live , makes the decision to move to a bigger house which we really need very difficult.

Am up with M , she has had terrible cold , cough and temp since xmas day aft , very wingy and has been getting up about 3 hours after she has gone to bed , very thirsty and temp , hopefully she will be ready to go back down soon.

Sorry ladies for not reporting back he had the same as I had earlier in the week, a mild tummy bug that Nathan dragged in and then escaped himself - typical. He was miserable Christmas day but fine after that. Boxing day we went for a walk, he prepared his sermon for Sunday (his boss wanted 3 services as normal, but there were very few people in church!!)and we ate pancakes.

Yesterday our oldest friends (Nathan's godparents) came with their kids and her mum, was really good to see them all. Nathan got a bit overexcited.

Today tackled Tesco as cupboards bare and we are changing bedroom from front to back so have made a start by swapping all the stuff in the build in cupboards. Done a bit too much I think.

Also ordered a Wii with Wii fit and done Nathan's thank you notes.

Sorry I did not post earlier - have been preoccupied also with more memory stuff that has clarified a lot but also hurts a lot .

LaT hope journey goes well. We are battling molars here too.

Ginge snap - storage from Ikea in the offing for us too.

JKS hang in there - you know where I am

Lily all sounds good, glad the hamsters worth it!

Hi all

Gingeme - are they being rotten teenagers?

Lilyloo- interesting. I may have to hunt down a hamster for 'Reyes' - in Spain the big present giving day is twelfth night. So we have to do Christmas, birthday and Reyes all in 10 days

JKS - Have you been able to find anything out about what's causing his discomfort? GOSH any help? No plans for New Year's Eve - except bed and sleep.

Madmouse - Am too hoping that DH is better.

Simpson - congrtaulations on win.

Ange - cute pics of DS on FB!

We're home tomorrow. Am hoping the best for the journey - it's longer on the way back due to connections. We'll set of at 10 and be in at 7.30 . Sabela seems to have her back molars coming out now. So joy.

She got hold of a newspaper today and licked her finger to turn the page. Cute!

Hi everyone, we're ok here, just.

H spends most of his time screaming/shouting
can't be in pain as we are keeping up with calpol/neurofen
but can't see what else is could, just grumpiness i guess.
His left hand is driving him crazy.
Luckily he is sleeping about an hour around lunchtime and all night, thank God!

G - we have wayyy too many toys here too, i started tidying them up earlier but gave up. Will get the Nanny to help me - she's back tomorrow, yey
Hoping we don't get much for H's birthday as he is even less interested in toys now than before...

Um, otherwise, my brother has gone home, parents still here, not sure when they will go, next few days i guess.
Then a quiet long weekend before DH goes back to work.
(then PIL should be back to see us after their holiday i hope)

Plans for New Year anyone? none here, hopefully a quiet night.....

Hey all first chance to catch up and wish you all a merry xmas.

JKS so glad you home and that it has hopefully worked. Hope he gets into sleep routine soon.

Mmouse sorry to hear about dh , we definately need some storage here too!!

Simps glad the bike went down well , we suffering here too with late nights and early mornings.

Gingeme hope you getting the toys sorted , i am trying to put a few away each time i go past them.

Mixedm i agree sugar and excitement overload doens't make for happy well behaved children.

LaT poor S again hope she is getting over it now.

Happy xmas to everyone else.

We have had lovely but busy 3 days.
Had street party on xmas eve , carols , chilli and potatoes and mulled wine and coffee. The whole cul de sac came out with all the dc's , sldeging and snow ball fights and finished off with visit from santa. All arranged by them mums was fab.
SPent xmas day at home and yes the hamsters went down very well , so much so that M has broken hers but will probably replace it as she loves it! Then we had visiotrs xmas night. Very tiring day but fun. Went to il's at Leeds on boxing day , nice to be waited on but loads more toys Then party at my dads last night.
So thankfully quiet day at home today to catch up on stuff. But think dp invited some friends round to watch football later !!

HaHaHa G!!! grr!!

Well he had an hour in bed after lunch today & bed at 6pm so somewhere between 'normal-for-H' and 'normal'

Such a long way to go but...he couldn't/can't walk when he got out of hosp.
Last night he was flopping his left foot, this morning he was moving it ok but still not walking well.
This evening he managed a few steps on his own.

Such fast progress and hope it bodes well for everything else!!

Hi everyone & Happy Boxing Day! x

How is DH madmouse? Sounds awful hope he is feeling better.
Oh dear mixedmamma. DH and I have had instances like that before too
I think we got away without too many arguments through the day thank goodness.
Yey JKS welcome home. LOL at h's sleep button. Welcome to the world of the terrible twos ! (cackles evily under breath)
Well its actualy pretty peaceful here for now. ds1 and 2 are at theri friends , ds3 is on the wii and d4 and 5 are having their naps. It was hard to get ds4 down as he doesnt have a nap any more but he could hardly keep awake through his cold turkey and mash
DH off to work soon. Shame as hes had the past 3 Boxing Days off
Off for a glass of wine and to relax on the sofa till the peace is shattered once again......

Hi all

JKS - fab news

Kids charging around like mad things here

They did not go to bed till nearly 10pm last night and were still up at usual time

Hit of the day was J's bike, h managed to go round the block 3 times, looking v proud of himself!!

M liked all her pressies as they were pretty much all Peppa Pig themed!!

Off to my mum's again in a bit for nice Boxing Day meal

Report
madmouse · 26/12/2009 11:29

Aaah wonderfully peaceful today - don't need to do anything. Nathan scooting through the house with his cars.

Still 8 presents under the tree. We have decided to unwrap the Thomas Train set from us together with him and play with that then quietly open the rest, write thank you cards and store them for now. So many new toys on top of what he already has!!!!

And a lovely elderly lady from church has given us £25 for Christmas which we feel we should spend on him. But we are getting him a new storage system for his toys in the living room - hope that counts too?

JKS hope that the journey home today goes smoothly and that you can breath a sigh of relief once you are all back home where you belong!

MixedMama - hard enough when the kids get like that without dads to 'help' - hope you have a peaceful day today

Morning everyone,

JKS so glad you are all home, brilliant.

Gingeme - we had lots of arguments over palying with toys ysterday but overall they were ok.

DH annoyed me as in front of everyone (dad, mum, brother, cousins) DS2 pushed DS1 over and the toy fell apart (i is supposed to come apart) and DH picked up DS1 and shouted at him and told him off then proceeded to let DS2 play with said toy. I told him it was actually DS2 who in this instance was in the wrong. We had words when we got home as he was so unfair but he said that he had alreay told DS1 to just sit quietly.

Helloo... Christmas day, lots of new toys not to mention lots of sugary snacks and treats and he wants him to sit quietly.

Madmouse - sorry DH not feeeling so good. Hoppefully he will be a bit better today, sounds like you had a lovely day anyway.

Hello to everyone and I hope everyone is steadily recovering from probably way too much eating yeterday.

Madmouse - nightmare! Hope he feels better soon! Good on him getting you a present from N, I meant to do that for Dh this year but forgot!

Gingeme - i bet your place looks like a Toy Shop right now!! Everyone happy with their pressies?

Well....we are OUT! the surgeon came round this morning and basically said 'we're doing nothing for you right now, you may as well leave if you want'!!

So we are staying in London tonight just to be nearby but will head home in the morning.

PIL arrived (late which is weird for them) - T very happy to see us
Then they wanted to stay on which while understandable was inconvenient as then my parents + brother arrived, so a bit crowded. Anyway packed up cars, sent PIL off to airport, Parent + Bro + T home, and left.

H is in bed but chatting, not really sure if/when he'll decide to sleep and when/how we'll get him into any kind of routine. He's been awake since 8am. Tired at times but nowhere near napping.
& &

they took out his sleep button!

Well Christmas not entirely according to plan here....

DH arrived home from midnight communion as sick as a cat. Had had to lie down during hte service (in his full robes) as he felt he was going to faint. He managed to consecrate the bread and wine then ran into the vestry to chuck up in the sink

So he was cold sick and miserable when he got home and his colleague had to preach his sermon for him at the 9am and Nathan and I went to the 11am without him (I had to do the prayers - apart from wanting to go anyway of course). We went out with presents for one family of friends and returned with lots of presents for Nathan. We've only unwrapped a few so far and he's so busy with them we ar leaving the rest for a bit. even his big present from us (Thomas train set) is still wrapped. He unwrapped some of his matchbox cars and is now surgically attached to a little red camper van.

So Christmas dinner was intimate affair with Nathan, our retired deaconess and me but - she's always running around after the old the sick and the lonely and troubled in our parish and it was lovely to bless her with some food and pampering.

But very little sleep and tired now...DH got me a lovely book and even got a card and a little present from Nathan - very thoughtful of dh.

Hope you're all having good times.

Merry Christmas everyone

H finally slept and it wasn't such a bad night in the end. He's grumpy today, not surprising really.

PIL & T due in any minute, then my parents & brother later on.

The hosp have given us a pillowcase full for each boy

And some parents who were in last year are going round with presents too, so nice.

(In fact, Filly, they live round your way, know the Lerners?)

Hope everyone has a fab day all round

Merry Christmas everyone!

No santa here as Sabela was awake ALL night after vomiting again. Just got up and she wolfed pancakes and teacakes which is most unlike her so she must have been starving. Big SMILES on faces and carry on!

Great news JKS and Madmouse - I may just have to try and make that meet up if the bank pays me the money it owes me just to see you LOS - if you can make it, that is.

Thanks RWU. I checked mine specially just now to see how you were!
