Simpson that seems unlikely to be from sauce - best before dates means does not go off just quality slowly deteriorates. Maybe holiday nerves!!

Well my dad and stepmum have arrived, going to be interesting as they know I am off work and something about a depression, but not the post traumatic stress and not the cause of that which will affect my dad when he finds out and I am not sure I want him to know yet - so i am on edge and hope he doesn't as too deeply

Had the shock of my life today. I was making bread in the kitchen with Sabela bumbling around near my feet as usual. I had just weighed the flour when two tins (inculding one big multipack of tuna), out of nowhere, fell onto the scales and missed Sabela by an inch.

I was absolutely in shock. It could have been very nasty.

Poor little mite was really scared but really good. She was covered head to toe in flour butlet me blow, then wipe it out of her eyes without crying. She was really spooked but ok. She just had red eyes from the flour.

Today, the tins go in the cupboard under the sink.

How many of you have a safety gate on your kitchen?

I think I'm going to put one of those too.

nicky6 · 16/10/2009 20:30

hi all dh out tonight so bedtime by myself - i dont know how you all do it - anyway although hideous 45 mins they were both in bed asleep by 7 so cant complain. its just a case of poor little noah crying downstairs as so tired whilst i put charlie to bed.

Am desperately trying to get him to go down for naps in his cot during the day but having spent the last 3 mnths taking them in the pushchair/on the run he is having none of it and charlie likes to shout noah wake up just as he goes to sleep arghhh.

mrs mc noah is 15 weeks, charlie loves him and although can be a bit heavy handed i think she cant wait for him to do things. she does some times lie on him and say i love my noah very cute.

Noah now on easy digest aptamil with level 4 dr brown teats although i only started it this afternoon he seems worse to me - i think the flow is too quick for him and dh said he choked and vomitted at 10.30 feed last night - oh well will persevere and see if it gets better and hopefully it means i can take him off the gavisgon - have decided i will be introducing solids early as its only the stupid milk thats making him so windy - should be better on solids.

those with 2+ little ones how do you make that final chunk of the day easier...............

Gingemeeeklookatthatspider · 16/10/2009 21:24

nicky6 cbeebies thats all I'm saying. Its a bloody God send....
Hi all I am enjoying the peace now my Mum has finaly returned home. I just can't believe how calm everything is now she has gone home I love her dearly but it was getting very tough after a while.
Oh LaT how scary. She was a very good girl letting you clean her up without crying Yes we have a gate at out kitchen door. In fact it has been there since we had David so were all pretty used to it. As soon as George can open it well take it down.
Simpson how are you? It doesn't sound like the sauce to me. Are you a bit nervous about going away? Excited too? I always feel sick before we go away. I was very ill the day before we went to Tenerife Once we got there and settled in I was fine.
Best of luck to you Madmouse xxx
Well not alot planned here for the weekend realy. Hope you all have a good one whatever your doing

JustBeBuffy · 17/10/2009 08:09

Simpson - have a good holiday!! (prob missed you by now)

LaT - scary! yes we've had a gate on the kitchen for ages from T - just means we don't have to worry about stuff in there so much & like Gingeme says we're so used to it now.
We took it off when we had a party a while back and it was so weird! (but nice)

Nicky - the end of the day is often horrible - the 'witching hour' lol!
take Noah upstairs with you? Charlie will get used to going to bed with him around.

Dh & T off to a halloween dad's party later, they can dress up, asked T what he wants to go as....a fireman
so there is a pile of fireman outfit & kit waiting to be put on

otherwise not much planned, maybe a trip to tesco later, friend said they have lots of toys on offer?

AngeChica · 17/10/2009 14:00

Just re-bookmarking ladies. had a gap between end of BT and start of Sky broadband also been incedibly busy with work and parent have been up in the Dales in a cottage so been up and down to see them twice.

How can i find you on FB MrsMc?

I think I am going to chuck in my farm - the plan being to swim a couple of evenings instead and maybe do a writing course insstead.....

Well DH has taken DS to borders / starbucks and I am supposed to be hoovering now! Have a good weekend all.

PS am feeling very broody even with tales of how tough it is with 2 LOs. Sadly can't do anything about it right now because of the ADs .

madmouse · 17/10/2009 14:43

Ange I know how you feel with the broodiness and not being able to do anything about it. I am not on ADs but far too unstable right now to get pregnant so I sympathise.

I will suggest MrsMc to you on fb

OP posts:
Gingemeeeklookatthatspider · 17/10/2009 15:24

Me to please madmouse? Not the broodiness I mean suggesting MrsMcJnr a s afriend on fb
Yes they have loads of toys on offer at Tesco. Just got back but couldn't get any as all 3 boys were with us . We will go to Smyths Monday morning to get Edwards birthday presant, he is three next Saturday, and probably their Christmas pressies too . A friend of mine is seling her Little Tikes garage with all the cars and people . Its all clean and working. I'm buying it off her for George for Christmas
Feel realy tired today for some unknown reason . I have told DH we need a new bed. I think I might have to dip into my savings and get a new one. I will get a divan which I have wanted for ages now. Our one we have at the moment is a metal frame and is so bloody noisy Still did its job I guess when we were concieving babys
Anyway off to get the boys up. They have been shouting for half hour since I put them to bed so I don't think theyre going to sleep somehow

AngeChica · 17/10/2009 16:45

PS Asda have got Disney DVDs at 2 for £12 at the moment.

JustBeBuffy · 18/10/2009 21:25

Ange - how's the swimming plan going?

G - so have they stopped napping yet? Feel for you when they do!

Not a great weekend, H-wise anyway.
Yesterday he was awake for about 4 hours in total with lots of nods/clusters of nods.

Today he wouldn't settle and hardly slept but spent most of the day curled up on our laps chewing his blankie.
and almost non-stop nods.

Tomorrow is GOSH day, sure it will be draining, hope it is progress too...

Gingemeeeklookatthatspider · 19/10/2009 12:49

Afternoon all.
No they still nap JKS thank goodness
Sorry to hear about H's nods can you see any pattern in them? Are they worse when he is tired? Good luck at GOSH today.
Ange are you on antid's indefinately? Is there some point you may be able to reduce your dose to come off them altogether?
How are you doing with bed times nicky6?
madmouse.
Well my Mums coming back this afternoon she has an appt at the fracture clininc tomorrow and I think she said something about staying till Friday.... not looking forward to it but hey ho.
Right I can hear the bagels and Philedelphia calling

Lilyloooohhhh · 19/10/2009 21:17

Evening all
Well ebay xmas funds have raised £100 but have managed to almost spend that on xmas pressies.
Got H a new ipod shuffle and L a new karaoke machine. Then ordered a couple of books , cd's etc
Love that i have got rid of all my junk though and bought lot's of shiny new xmas pressies with it

JKS sorry to hear about H bad day

Hey Ange good to see you!!!

Gingeme might join you with pate and crackers this online shop exhausting

Hope everyone else ok!!!

Gingemeeeklookatthatspider · 20/10/2009 19:28

George said 'wee wee' today after following me into the loo

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 20/10/2009 19:54

LOL Gingeme...

We got 'more' a lot today.

Well done Lilyloo - I always seem to spend ebay winnings before I get paid. It does take the fun out of it a bit.

JKS - waiting to hear about GOSH. Hope all went well.

MrsMc - Got my first soaking of the winter today and thought of you on the Costa! Why is it that you moved there BTW, if you don't mind me being nosy.

Madmouse - how's the bench? I liked the photo.

Found out my SIL is expecting a boy - the first in the generation. Everyone is very excited and DH a little bit jealous. Not really because wants boys but becasue he thinks it would be a bond with his father.

I've been looking for little boy outfits online. I must say, boys clothes are very, very boring!

Apart from this in Jojo, which is adorable.

MrsMcJnr · 20/10/2009 22:14

Hey ladies just a quick post as I have house guests and I think it is probably rude to chat on MN

LaT - thanks for your lovely offer of sending things sorry to hear about the tins I have locks on all my kitchen cupboards. We moved here because I wanted to come home to my folks. Spain is home to me, I grew up here from age 10. We had rain today!

Xavier escaped through his mosquito netting and under his blind today to get out of having a sleep, the monkey!

Ginge - impressed by the "wee wee" when did you toilet train your older boys?

Nicky - Noah is a lovely name 15 weeks wow! I can't believe Aaliyah is 19 weeks tomorrow, time has flown. I cope with the evenings by having a tight schedule, after Xavier's dinner we all go for a walk when DH gets home from work then its bath and bed for both kids.

JustBeBuffy · 20/10/2009 22:28

Hi all.

Quick post. Gosh went ok, no real news tbh.

coming off the steroids & other drug we went onto recently.

Going back onto the first drug as the combo of that (Epilim) & one other (Keppra) seemed to make a difference way back in May.

Surgery is definite. He is an emergency/urgent/added case but no date as yet.

EEG still 'chaotic'.

drinking wine

Gingemeeeklookatthatspider · 21/10/2009 13:10

Afternoon ladies.
Just got back from Smyths. Bought most of my Christmas presants now There is just so much choice in there I could have bought loads more. I think it probably has more choice than ToyRUs and probably a bit cheaper too.
MrsMcJnr I think its more because I say Im going for a wee wee rather than George asking for a wee wee iyswim? But I potty trained the others at about 2.6 to 3 years I guess. So hopefully next summer it will be Georges turn.
You sound very organised Lillyloooooo. Well done on the Ebay funds.
Seems such a long slog when you put it like that JKS has any of the drugs shown any improvements do you think?
Mum went to the fracture clininc yesterday. They have dismissed her now and she has to go to her own hospital in Kent to have physio. So she is going home tomorrow (gingeme dances round the room in glee!)

LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 21/10/2009 14:07

Hmm... well, one week after we were finally discharged from the paediatrics ward here for the UTI Sabela had when she was 5 months old, I think she has another one.

She's been doing a lot of nappy patting in the last couple of days, and today has been demanding to be changed every five minutes - when usually she hates it. Around lunchtime that has ratched up to screaming.

Off to docs this afternoon, probably followed by me holding a cup between Sabela's legs while she wonders around nappy-less, trying to get a sample.

Tips on how to do this appreciated! Last time she was only lying down, so was easy-ish.

madmouse · 21/10/2009 15:43

LaT what a pain I hope the poor mite is ok - I had so many of them when I was small

When we needed a wee sample of Nathan depending on what it was for we used cotton wool balls in the nappy or a special plastic bag with sticky ends that can be placed over delicate parts to catch. You may find touching the area with a cold wet face cloth will produce a wee.

And if she will drink it give her some cranberry juice to clear the infection

OP posts:
LaTruchaaaaaaaaaargh · 21/10/2009 18:42

Thanks Madmouse.

We've had two pees this afternoon without apparent pain, one missed by me, one caught by DH within five minutes of getting in the door . So, I may have got it wrong about the infection, but better to be safe than sorry. One sample ready to go!

JustBeBuffy · 21/10/2009 20:27

Gingeme - i haven't been to Smyths yet (a new one opened near here a while back) - sure i would spend a fortune having looked at their website
Well done on being organised though.

LaT - a slightly mad idea, is she uncomfortable being in a wet nappy? wondering if she's actually trying to tell you she wants to wee out of a nappy IYKWIM? Hope the docs can tell you if she's ok anyway.

G - no reaction to any of the drugs tbh, have printed out a new chart of all the changes as we wean off 2 and add 1, is mind-bending.

No medical appts/phone calls to report today yey
(although i left a message with the SN HV to call me back and hopefully arrange a meeting to help me fill out the DLA form).

H the same.

Soft play with T this afternoon while nanny H-sat (he slept the whole time we were out! i feel quite ).

wine and early night for me tonight.
