YG - I'm a bookworm too and I think that has made a difference as when I was bf I always had my nose in a book.

Thanks, KM - I'm due mid to late January. Feeling v tired and queasier than with DS.

I know Yorkiegirl - I think I'm secretly hoping that my body will decide for me and the preg hormones will dry up the milk. But I'm worried it will be really sore next time if i stop now

Have you decided to give up soon?

I'll feed DS for as long as he wants it - he LOVES his morning feed, but his night-time one he's not so bothered by. Tonight he wanted to sit on the bed and do row row row your boat and play "blown over" - we blow on his chest and he falls over backwards onto the bed and laughs - you know, proper wind-down bedtime games...

Having said that, he did ask to be fed twice today too - just short feeds though, so perhaps he was thirsty (despite drinking copious amounts of water!) He pants like a puppy after he's had a drink of water, then giggles at us He has a very well-developed sense of humour - he was stacking his rings onto my fingers and his feet today and thought it was hilarious!

Congratulations HM! I am so jealous of you three!

Ds has tonsillitus Came down friday with ear infection (had temp of 39.4 ) and he's been on amoxycillin and medised and nurofen all weekend... but he's been screaming and crying and I knew something was wrong, made dp take him to minor injuries and they looked at his throat.... I have it too atm (albeit mildy and minus the tonsils)

Rather at doctor on friday... didn't bother looking at ds's throat and it could have saved him two days of pain...

Forgot to say yesterday that dd stole a chocolate bar from a shop! Ds noticed after we'd left - we hotfooted it back to own up but the assistant told us to keep it

Is anyone else's baby biting at the moment - I mean sinking teeth into arms/shoulders etc??! Ds2 is doing this and it's flipping painful! Not sure if it's because he's teething (only 4 teeth still) so if we should be sympathetic, or cross and tell him off so he knows he shouldn't be doing it - but I've got a bruise coming up like an egg on my arm from him having a good old chew on me earlier on today!

Luna, hope you and DS are better VERY soon - poor little chap!

DS has had me in stitches today - he has some stacking blocks that he piles up (there are six of them and the slot onto each other - hard to explain, but basically they show all different faces when they are put together) - today, he built his tower and crawled round it, shouting. Turned out he was looking for the cat face and couldn't find it! When he did, he clapped and laughed!

He also signed and said bird today - was pointing to them in the garden, totally fascinated. He said "Bur"

lunavix bb - hugs to u !
had 1st major bump on head on sun nite , fell over his own feet and produced massive egg on his head , ran to A & E , nothing to wrry about was v nasty , felt sick was ds worried ? NAH
was told by the mothers i met there that i should get used to it as was a boy , !! was v busy there full of DIY'ers falling off ladders etc

I find all this talk of breast feeding fascinating. Don't get me wrong I am all for breast-feeding but I found part of me was quite relieved to give up, I can't imagine what it must be like to still be breast feeding.I can't understand why you find it difficult? I wonder if this is because I am rather 'well-endowed', even at my slimmest, and so I couldn't wait to get back into my normal underwired bras. I got fed up undoing and doing it back up again to feed dd.
What does anyone else think?

MrsD, do you mean you can't understand why some of us think it's going to be difficult to give up? For me, it's because dd loves it so much - it's her comfort as well as her main source of milk (she still doesn't drink much when she's with the childminder). I don't love bf myself, but nor do I hate it. I am quite looking forward to having my body back but at the moment I'm ok carrying on.

dolbear - sounds scary, glad ds is ok!

MrsD, I too am relatively well-endowed (34G) and I don't much enjoy feeding a larger child in public, but I will if he really wants it (since he's learnt the sign, it's harder to refuse ). He's very good though and LOVES drinking water from a beaker, so I tend to give two or three bfeeds a day (morning, bedtime and perhaps one during the day).

I think that the idea of feeding a child who is older than yours when you stopped bfeeding (iyswim!) is probably quite strange - it becomes something you did when they were younger, I suppose?

Just realised that sounds like I did enjoy feeding a smaller child in public - like I'm some kind of baby-breastfeeding-exhibitionist. I'm not!

Gosh - missed loads since hol. weekend.
Nice and hot - couldn't face the computer in the sun!
went to family BBQ and ds just loves other children. Oh why oh why can't I decide whether to have another one!!

TracyK, I'm not the best person to ask about having another one - I'll say do it!

DS signed "bird" today (hasn't stopped his speech though - he said bird (well, "bir" as he was pointing at them in the garden) on Sunday morning - lol!)
