Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Chuffed · 10/06/2005 22:21

no only 8.4 at the mo I think although the dr's think 10 now. the gp just did a wee scan.
I'm now booked into the hospital though 29th for proper scan.

Fennel · 11/06/2005 10:49

Lunavix - hope you are having a good day, though i doubt you'll be logging on.

HD - I've never lived near the sea either in the UK - Wiltshire, Oxford, Manchester - all a couple of hours away from really nice coast. it's a dream of DP's though and as he goes windsurfing several times a week for much of the year it does make sense.

the cohousing plans were on a thread Mrs D started about downsizing, a couple of weeks ago.

MrsDoolittle · 11/06/2005 10:59

OMG Some girls in the Due Feb 06 thread are worried because they have no symptoms.
Heck! Long may it last I say!!

I'll be 13 weeks when I go to NZ I think, I guess I might be showing by the time I get back. I have been thinking that's when I'll tell work.
I am concerned that I am going to get enormously fat this time though. A few months ago I was lighter than before I conceived but I doubt that's the case now. I have not been excercising so my tummy is really flabby. Dh also pointed out that my breasts were 'going South' this morning - Don't ya love them?

LucyJones · 11/06/2005 14:53

that was very naughty of him to say so MrsD!!! Wouldn't it be funny if Lunavix logged on, on her wedding day!!!!!

hewlettsdaughter · 11/06/2005 19:53

Well, it's been a nice day here - hope it was where lunavix got married

MrsD - tell dh he'd better keep such comments to himself as you can't be responsible for your actions when you're obviously hormonal at the moment!

Fennel · 11/06/2005 20:23

it's been nice here too. we all went out to local fair with raincoats stashed ready due to dark clouds, and then all the girls got sunburnt as noone had brought suncream. i keep forgetting to pack it, dd3 is very ruddy cheeked

mrs d, my dp has learnt to never say anything except "no of course you're not fat" and "I like your body just the way it is". it may not be true but probably better that way.

breasts will perk up as you get into the pregnancy anyway

MrsDoolittle · 11/06/2005 20:35

And he's usually such a nice chap!

Hope you had a wonderful day Lunavix

dot1 · 11/06/2005 21:07

Fennel - ds2's nickname is currently "baked bean" which is what he looks like every time we go out in the sun..!

dot1 · 11/06/2005 21:08

PS - not being horribly neglectful, honest! ds2 seems to have inherited my rubbish skin - can put tons of cream on + hat but burns in a few minutes anyway...

TracyK · 12/06/2005 17:09

hope you had a good day yesterday Luvanix - I missed it!

rubyroo · 12/06/2005 22:16

hi i hope its ok for a march 2004 mum to gatecrash? i just wondered if anyone elses dd or ds had started having major full blown tantrums yet as my dd seems to have started this w/end and am feeling a bit frazzled

this is more like if someone else is eating she wants their food as well and goes berserk if she can't have it, if we don't let her do something etc or if one of us leaves the room. basically when she doesn't get her own way

Fennel · 13/06/2005 06:37

rubyroo, she sounds just like my 2.5 year old niece. your dd must be very advanced!

dd3 has titchy little tantrums when not allowed to feed herself (the mess in our kitchen is appalling now). also when she sees a red liquid in a glass, having just discovered Ribena - she now tries to get at my red wine

TracyK · 13/06/2005 08:37

ds has started throwing things now. Not in a tantrummy way but in fun. Do we stop him, is it just a phase, or is it part of his learning about his strength??
Tried to do naughty step yesterday - but he just starts playing on the stairs and starts climbing them - which is too dangeroous - so can't see that punishment working!

Chuffed · 13/06/2005 09:11

dd has mini ones, yes the eating thing, if we try to feed her she spins around in her chair and winges, or if she doesn't want to go somewhere you are going and is walking ie in the park she will just sit down and cry with frustration I think.
The mess has been soooo much better having taken her out of the highchair and put her in a booster seat with us at the table, she really does eat very well and is quite good with the spoon, not a lot goes on the floor. As for the don't want to go, I just pick her up, lock her in the pushchair or carry her until she calms down. They haven't been too bad.
rubyroo when was your dd born in March, mine was 29th.

lunavix · 13/06/2005 13:05

Hi everyone!
THe wedding was amazing, beautiful weather, brilliant turn out from friends and family, it was great! Ds screamed through the ceremony as MIL forgot to give him any lunch before hand, but was in a lovely mood the rest of the day, and loved the tweenies songs dH made the dj play!

tracy - I read somewhere that it's them 'initiating a game' not being naughty. Fairly certain it's ds being naughty!

Ds is copying my mindees in a big way now, and like yours YG has to feed himself now. It's messy and requires twice the amount of food to make up for what lands around the house but he's happy! He's also developed a love for red wine pears and canapes!

TracyK · 13/06/2005 13:34

what did you read you should do when they 'initiate a game' then Luvanix?
So glad it was a lovley day on sat. for you. I've just found a great web site for printing photos onto canvases if you have any from sat. you really like. its www.intercanvas.co.uk i've been emailing the guy all morning (instead of working) trying to get the best photo combination out of some we took on the pebbly beach. I've just worked out why most of our photos have been crap - it's all the background that makes the diff. in the photos ds is in the foreground with the background fully pebbles - no distractions to the eye.
but this guy is doing 8x8 for £30 or 12x12 for £39 and if you order a 2nd of the same print you get it half price. he can also do 1 colour and 1 b &w. I'm at about 200 quid already!

LucyJones · 13/06/2005 16:31

glad everything went well Lunvix Why aren't you sunning yourself somewhere hot though?!!!

dolbear · 13/06/2005 17:50

hope u had a FAB day lunavix and belated congrats !!!!!
ds also throws things , we have put it down to he is seeing if everything bouces like the balls do , we showed him how to boumce a ball and now everything get chucks on the floor , mmmm will put that down to teh 'seemed like a good idea at the time' box
also having tants , as in sitting down ( whereever) and throwing his head back and giving an almight yell , its fab in public !!

lunavix · 13/06/2005 19:48

Don't know TracyK, they didn't say about that, just not to tell them off!

We aren't having a honeymoon as such, we're off to Glastonbury festival instead! I've just taken on mindees in the last few months and couldn't have the time off. Hoping to have a longer break later in the year.

MrsDoolittle · 13/06/2005 20:06

Hi Lunavix,
Glad you had such a lovely day

I am currently trawling through the Childcarelink website looking for a suitable nursery for dd in the centre of Newbury. Do you have any advice?
I'm aiming to place her for November 1.

lunavix · 13/06/2005 20:08

I can ask around, I only live about 10 min from the centre of Newbury. Why are you placing her in newbury, if you don't mind me asking? Don't you live in Oxford?

MrsDoolittle · 13/06/2005 20:09

We're moving to Newbury

lunavix · 13/06/2005 20:11

My gosh! Welcome to the neighbourhood!

Have you had a look on Ofsted's webiste? The nursery reports will be on there. I haven't heard much about any (but then I wouldn't as a childminder else my mindee's would be there!) but I can ask my network coordinator if you like - she's part of the west berkshire early years department and should be able to recommend the best.
