Happy birthday M

MoonlightMcKenzie · 08/09/2009 23:27

It's the weather. That's the theory. It is so changeable your lo's are either too hot or too cold

MoonlightMcKenzie · 08/09/2009 23:29

Thank you Debs75 His favourite food is yoghurt so who knows. He did indeed get served the green milk. It was soooo green he even mentioned it. 'green milk' he said (he's learning his colours)

MoonlightMcKenzie · 08/09/2009 23:30

ponymum This time last year you and I were innocently tossing and turning in bed trying to find a comfortable position for our fat tums

Ponymum · 09/09/2009 10:21

Happy Birthday Baby Starlight and Ponygirl!

The muffins are now in the oven.

Happy Birthday baby starlight and ponygirl

Can't write much as am at work and I forgot my laptop charger and only have 41mins of power left. Yes I know I should be using it more wisely than on here!

Debs75 · 09/09/2009 14:58

Happy birthday baby starlight and ponygirl.
This time last year I was being told they had to induce me and had me in a panic.

Starlight I wonder if you can make your milk into yoghurt?

Having a better day with Robyn, Doc said yesterday she has a 'viral thing' and to give her calpol and ibruprofen. Bought one of those in ear temp machines and have spent all day and night taking her temp. She still had a huge temp last night and spent most of the night in our bed wriggling around. She seems better today.

Meglet · 09/09/2009 15:01

Happy Birthday Baby Starlight and Ponygirl

Glad to hear Robyn is better today Debs.

After a very exciting birthday, M decided to give is a midnight alarm call last night I think it was teeth ............ but then I always say that and no new teeth have appeared for months.

MoonlightMcKenzie · 09/09/2009 22:01

Happy Birthday Ponygirl and Baby Starlight. Baby Starlight isn't quite 1 until 10:45. It was about this time that I was thinking 'It's getting a bit painful now so I think I'll give the pool a try!'

Just found out her new childminder who has had her for 2 weeks now, has been calling her Caitlin. Nice name, - but not hers .

digitalgirl · 09/09/2009 22:11

Happy bday babies!

DS has taken to waking at 4:30 and not going back to sleep till 5:30/6 after I've fed him and he's clambered all over me and eventually found a comfy position in the crook of my arm on the edge of the bed so I spend the rest of the morning only half asleep constantly worried that he'll wriggle out of my arm and fall off the bed.

Ponymum · 09/09/2009 22:30

Well then happy birthday in about 20 mins babystarlight. (I assume you haven't kept her awake waiting to celebrate?)

Interesting birthday for DD... we ended up at the doctor! She's ok but we had a fright about a discharge from her ear and suddenly thought, oh oh, maybe all of those symptoms for the last few days (cranky and sleepless, vomits, high temp) are actually due to an ear infection. Thankfully not - she thought it was just wax but no infection, and other symptoms can be explained by teething-related congestion and (still ongoing) nappy rash.

Despite this interruption we managed to have a lovely day. The birthday muffins were a hit (carrot and apple) and we had a fab time with the grand opening of the garden. She loved her presents, especially Humphrey the labrador. To finish we had a lovely walk down to the end of the village and said hello to the sheep, donkeys, goats, hen and chicks, and ducks!

I can't believe everything that has happened in the last year. How very different my life is now.

notcitrus · 09/09/2009 22:32

Happy birthday babies!

A is now kneeling up and standing and letting go of stuff, and wobbling for a couple seconds before falling. Unfortunately he decided to do this on the top stair as I was opening the gate to let him crawl through, and tumbled the entire way down the stairs. Luckily after the first fall he was just rolling but he has a bruise above one eye. I guess he'll probably do a lot more falling over the next few years but he's so small!

My parents looked after him here for a few hours yesterday. They changed two nappies, including a Nappy of Doom. And didn't let him fall down the stairs.

MoonlightMcKenzie · 09/09/2009 22:35

Reckon I was screaming around now

Glad you had a nice day in the end Ponymum. We had a very little party with just us 4, and tbh it was more for the benefit of DS. Sweet, but no big deal.

My friend's baby's birthday is tomorrow so we will have a joint celebration at our church group I think.

Happy Birthday Babies - nearly a year ago starlight

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/09/2009 10:29

ponymum - could I please have a recipe for those muffins? They sound lush.

I keep looking back and thinking about what I was doing a year ago. It really blows my mind actually.

I went to bed wondering if I would be having my baby soon, little did I know he would be in my arms at 08:46.

Any birthdays today?

We keep having the odd random waking here too.

DD had her 1yr jabs today. She wasn't too bothered by them, yelled for a few seconds but had stopped by the time I had poppered up her dungarees. I checked her temp at bedtime and it was normal so fingers crossed she will be ok.

Ponymum · 10/09/2009 20:56

ILTMIMI I have entered the muffin recipe here. I like it because it is relatively easy to make, and lovely and moist.

ninja · 11/09/2009 10:51

That list brings back memories - it was getting bigger everyday this tme last year

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 11/09/2009 12:40

Thanks for that Ponymum, I love the moistness fruit and carrots give to cake

I know what you mean Ninja. It makes me feel really nostalgic and has made me think about M's birth a lot.

Ponymum · 11/09/2009 14:32

DD does have an ear infection. You should see it now, it is oozing horrid stuff. You see, a parent's intuition is right. Now we have 5 days of trying to force those horrid antibiotics into her, poor girl.

I know it's not on the same scale as X Factor, but on Hairy Bikers tonight at 5:15 there will be a feature on the restaurant that DH is taking me to next week for my birthday. (So you can either go, oo lucky you, or yuck, who would eat there?)

Debs75 · 11/09/2009 15:50

Happy birthday, it just seems to be ones who don't come on here anymore.

Poor ponygirl hope she is better soon. Robyn loved the antibiotics.

This time last year I was arguing with the consultant about being induced. He relented and let me wait another 5 whole days, plus the 3 sat about in hospital doing nothing and wanting to go home. Oh the days of being huge and fat and not being able to getr comfy (debs looks down at her big tummy) no change there then.

Am getting our new car next week so will be looking for a new car seat. Have decided to go to Mothercare and Halfords and Pramland and get them to work out the best fit before I make my mind up. Am getting quite excited at spending almost £200 on something

Ponymum · 11/09/2009 16:00

debs75 we went and looked at a few at our local (expensive) shop and decided on the Maxi Cosi priori xp. But DD still fits her other one - the fitter person said keep her in that as it is much safer until you have to use the bigger one (she's only 8.4 kg). Fair enough. So as there's no hurry I am just waiting for a really good price somewhere on the internet!

You won't believe this - I just won a prize on MN!!! And I have to thank ILTMIMI for this. I had no idea how I won, but looked at the prize details and it said, just post a recipe to be in the running. And of course I posted that muffin recipe yesterday when ILTMIMI asked for it - so a very big thank you!! The prize could not be more perfect - it's £100 worth of musical toys for under 5s!! DH plays guitar with DD and she is fascinated and has already learned how to strum the strings and blow the recorder, so we have been saying we must get her some instruments of her own. Yay!!
