Here we are: the thread that will see our LO's first birhtday...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ponymum · 05/09/2009 21:38

digigirl Are you going to expand on that at all? You do realise you have made me watch at least half of two episodes of X factor, when I have never watched anything like this before in my life! We deserve answers!

Thanks all, DD got much better later in the afternoon and even ate some tea before going to bed.

meglet I take my hat off to you. You are all dignity, and a great mum.

digitalgirl · 05/09/2009 21:48

ponymum I'm not allowed to say anything, but I think you should keep watching till the live shows!

Actually one of the producers told me I'd get a call the day before sis will be on TV, so if you need to preserve your sanity I can tell you when I get that call so you can just watch the episodes she'll be in!

Ponymum · 05/09/2009 22:25

dg Do you mean, the day before it rains?

AngryWasp · 05/09/2009 23:42

Look, - how are we going to know who to vote for? Has she been on yet?

Just watched today and OMG it is all sooooo staged. What was with the two that were engaged but then not and then got back together after an awful audition?

ponymum That's not fair, - do you have inside knowledge. I know not what you speak. Is lo better?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/09/2009 07:51

I am no good at speaking in code. But I'm guessing things are going good for dg's sis and her audition hasn't been on yet, but dg will let us know when she is going to be on. How very very exciting.

2 days to go before ds's birthday. I can't beleive where the time goes.

Hope dd is better Ponymum. Has your book arrived yet? You'll have to let me know what you think of it.

notcitrus · 06/09/2009 10:01

Currently have A and SIL2ds scampering under the table - they're adorable in between accidentally hurting each other. And producing vomit and snot...

Angrywasp - you didn't happen to just sell some Kushies nappies off Ebay? SOmeone with your surname did and incredibly kindly decided my cheeky offered BIN price was way too much and gave me a fantastic bargain!

6 days to A's birthday - if I make marzipan shapes today would they keep in the fridge and look good on the cake on Saturday?

Hope other poorly babies get better soon.

AngryWasp · 06/09/2009 10:19

notcitrus I would love to say yes, but no, - it wasn't me. I can't buy and sell on ebay because paypall have frozen my account because my bank told them to because they don't like the card I am using or something . Aparently they sent me a new one and I should be using that now.

Which surname? My surname isn't McKenzie, or Wasp for that matter

Poor Baby Starlight. We've just got no plans at all to celebrate her birthday, what with all the deadlines for DS' case coming up.

becaroo · 06/09/2009 10:27

Hello!

Hope your dd is better ponymum DG I dont watch it, but am happy to vote for your dsis if you tell me how to!!!!

Well, Toby is now toddling around all over the place! He is into everything and very cute. He has had diahorrea for the past 3 days but seems ok other than that - how long would you leave it before a GP visit? He is eating and drinking and no temp.

Ds1 back to school tomorrow - new class, new teacher. I'm dreading it. He doesnt cope well with change and his best friend is in another class

Sept is going to be such a busy month - will be glad when its over tbh, but then its my b day and then its xmas...sigh...never ends, does it?

Love to all x

Ponymum · 06/09/2009 11:05

DD is very well now, thanks everyone. I suppose it was something she picked up at nursery on Friday afternoon, but it obviously got through the system very quickly. (You see how cleverly I blamed nursery there, rather than my own dirty floors, etc ).

Ugg, I saw that phoney 'engaged' couple thing on X factor last night. I kind of knew this was bad television and now that I have watched it I think it's even worse than I feared. Simon Cowell is just weird! But I am strangely drawn to it, and soo curious about Digi's sister. Obviously I will totally respect digi's wishes to reveal as much as she can (or is allowed to?). I def don't have any inside knowledge. My comment above was a poor attempt to see if I was on the right track by wheedling more information out of Digi, because on a thread in the Telly addicts topic last night she made a comment about an upcoming act called Kandy Rain. But no response so I suppose I am wrong...

ILTMIMI Yes I have the book now and I am learning a lot. Unfortunately its arrival has coincided with my descent into irreversible insanity on all matters fertility-related. It is now day 38 and still no AF. Yesterday I was so mental I took an ovulation test AND a pg test AT THE SAME TIME! You see, I have lost it completely. I am determined to try charting as per the instructions but already feel convinced that my chart is going to look like one of the examples she gives of weird problem charts. I am convinced I am not pg, and now just want my AF to hurry up and arrive so I can get on with the next cycle and have another chance. But still craving chocolate...

AngryWasp · 06/09/2009 11:20

PMSL ILTMIMI I have 45 day cycles and in the early days when I didn't know this, I think I remember doing the same once.

The thing about 45 day cycles is that they don't feature on online ovulation calanders and you waste loads of tests!

Keeping my fingers cross anyway ILTMIMI, but not if you're going to abandon us for a more exciting antenatal thread (although, they are very exciting)

AngryWasp · 06/09/2009 11:21

Sorry, - I'm on a different planet entirely, - the whole of my last post was to Ponymum

EasyEggs · 06/09/2009 11:27

Just wanted to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! To all the Sept 08 babies

I was on the antenatal 08 thread when I was preg as Wombfor1more (I think lol) but have been extremely lax in moving over to the postnatal side of things, mainly as I am now on the antenatal due in Nov 09 thread

Oops.

Anyway I hope you all enjoy your little ones 1st birthdays. I for one can't believe just how fast this past year has gone and can't believe my not so little man, Harvey, will be 1 on the 1st Oct!

Hope you and the babes are all well x x x

Ponymum · 06/09/2009 11:45

easyeggs Congratulations! Quick work there!

Thanks Ms Mckenzie-Wasp. I also had 45 day cycles when we were ttc DD. I had hoped it would be different this time.

AngryWasp · 06/09/2009 12:01

So you know a good time for bedroom activities is around day 31 then?

And that to increase your odds for a girl you store it up and have a go just once or twice on days 28-29 ish then stop, and for a boy, your dh practices a few times without you and then as much as possible on day 31-32 ish?

That's the laymans guide!

When I say increase odds I mean a couple of percentages only.

AngryWasp · 06/09/2009 12:02

Easyeggs* Lovely to hear from you again. Congratulations!

Starlight

DebiTheScot · 06/09/2009 13:26

congrats easyeggs we knew there must be someone out there from our antenatal threads who was having another one. You've already got a few kids haven't you? You're going to be busy!

Are any of you getting slagged off from your other halfs for watching x-factor just coz of digisis being on it? I am!

Decided that the best thing about ds2 turning 1 is no more formula milk. His last carton coincidently ran out on his birthday so have put him on cows milk. No more measuring scoops or washing bottles ever again, wayhay.

Off to the last Quins home game of the season in a min. Can't believe it was a whole year ago that we took a 6 day old ds2 to last years last game.

AngryWasp · 06/09/2009 16:55

LOL Debi Did he have his last formula drink just before midnight too?

Sorry, - I'm taking the mick.

I suppose because Baby Starlight is still mainly bf, she's always just had cows milk our of a freeflow spout cup when I'm not with her.

I rememeber you going to that game Debi and thought you were crazy, but clearly not a first time mum

Don't like these stories of ttc and newborns. It is making me very broody. One of my good friends can't carry a baby although she has no problem conceiving. I've thought a lot about surrogacy but don't think it is really the right time for our family.

btw. I had a big bottle of pepsi max last night and this morning when I expressed, my milk was green

Ponymum · 06/09/2009 17:20

debithescot I got away with it last night because DH was out at his cricket team dinner. The previous week I watched the last 15 mins by saying that I knew someone on it, but he kept saying who? Not sure how much longer I can keep this up.

Ewww... green milk.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/09/2009 18:01

Green milk? Impressive!

Congrats Easyeggs, I am in awe!

Yes my dh has been complaining about watching X-Factor, but as I told him it's "tough shit, I know someone on the interweb and their sister is in it"

Ponymum - breath in, and breath out. All will be well

ninja · 06/09/2009 19:08

congrats easyeggs that's impressive (and is your name meant to be a comment on your fertility?)

My friend has a DD1 due the same time as M but born a month early, and month old DD2 {shock]. I think it's hard work for her (understatement of the century). They'll be so close later though.

digitalgirl · 06/09/2009 20:02

ponymum nope they're not Kandy Rain, they're called Miss Frank (not to be confused with MissFitz), but my sis auditioned as a soloist to begin with so I'll let you know her name nearer the time. I'll definitely be reminding you all to vote when the time comes, and linking to YouTube links in case you missed the show!

Know how you feel re long cycles. It's particularly annoying when they're irregular. Opks don't work for me. I've had smiley faces off those digital ones and then no af for four weeks. Which means I can get false positives on opks, which I guess is down to my body making more than one attempt to ovulate each cycle. At the moment I'm a week into my cycle and getting ewcm already. Very strange.

starlight when is your ds's case?

wombfor1 wow, you're like a machine!! Is this baby number 5 now?

My last week of work this week. Have no other work lined up, suppose I should be making an effort to look for more but it's jab time again isn't it and would like to have a few days off with DS in case he reacts badly.

DebiTheScot · 06/09/2009 20:12

starlight not midnight for his last drink but 8am on his birthday as that's when he was born .
He had had cows milk before, had it sometimes in the aft if I couldn't be bothered measuring scoops. As he hardly drinks any milk I thought about keping him on the follow on a bit longer for max iron input but he seems nealthy enough and I couldn't be arsed!

Got totally gubbed in the rugby. Not happy.

EasyEggs · 06/09/2009 20:15

Thanks for the congrats

Yes Easyeggs is my attempt at humour about my apparent high fertility

Was a complete shock I can tell you and one that still hasn't sunk in. I'm quite frankly pooping myself at the idea of having ds8, ds6, dd2, ds1 an a newborn, infact I could cry when I actually think about it.

Anyway....

Green milk lol!? Never had that one, might have to experiment this time to see if I can change the colour too

Digital your sis is on the Xfactor?! Woohoo, will keep watching and vote when all is revealed. And yes I do feel just like a machine, but one that will very soon in retirement

Kagey · 06/09/2009 20:32

Congrats Easy I am in awe!

No ttc here yet, may start at the end of the year so there is at least 2-years age gap, but I think there are probably pros and cons to any age gap.

SIL had a little boy today so I got to hold a squidgy little newborn and he was so lovely, and I must add, so lovely to hand him back and think of a nice long sleep I should get tonight

Ponymum · 06/09/2009 21:28

AF has arrived. I am relieved actually, as I was thinking this might go on for another week and still end up with the same result. Right - off to start my chart!!
