tegan · 18/07/2009 07:22

Morning all

Well it is 7.30 and i have a day from hell.

I have to get all 3 kids ready fro my mum to collect and i also have to be getting ready at the same time to go to a wedding. Dh is in bed til 10.30 as he was at work all night but he has to then shoot to the grooms house to get ready, he's the best man.

I then have to leave to assist bride into her very complicated dress, only trouble is i had false nails done yesterday and everything is a struggle at the mo.

Also O is sleeping at mums tonight so got to have all his stuff sorted and that is stressing me out.

I am just waiting for it all to go wrong

coolkat · 18/07/2009 08:41

OH Tegan I am sure once the mad rush is iver you will have an amazing day. X

Ladies sorry about my upset yest. Today we have woken and its like I have a different baby She settled fine last night, woke at 4 fed her, put her back in her cot and got up with her at 7.30 so best night in along while

DH at work again today so just me and the girlies, may go over to my mums, there is a Next near her

Ellie I would go and see an advisor. I am looking at OU courses and deal with Connexions through work and am going to speak to them for advise when I go back.

I think you hit it on the head Ceebee ? I think she is bored she is moving about but can't quite master the fine art of crawling on all fours and its frustration and boredum.

She is starting to whinge, best go!

ellielou02 · 18/07/2009 08:47

LOL tegan I was in your shoes last week, I was chief bridesmaid for my sis and dh is away of course, so had to get myself ready and DD's get my sis ready who would not get into her dress until 10 mins before, we then discovered it was one of those tie her in ones and the shop was meant to show us how to do it but they "forgot" queue 2 bridesmaids and alot of bad language from me and a whinging baby to the equation oh and a few well needed glasses of champers!! Well it was all fun, hope you have a lovely day!
coolkat glad becca a bit happier this morning.

LadyBuzz · 18/07/2009 14:19

coolkat glad becca is better today.

Tegan have a fab day today.

I'm off to see Michael McIntyre tonight, I can't wait I think he is hilarious! The maybe a couple of drinks after with DH, DCs are going to stay with Grandad for the night

Daisy wanted to say thanks for the pushchair advice, I got the Obaby one this morning, I just can't believe how much better it is then any of the other doubles (I'm on my 4th ) I don't get a hernia trying to turn corners, the town was manic this morning aswell and it was a breeze - You have made my life so much easier.
I do love a new push chair

Oblomov · 18/07/2009 15:40

Coolkat, hope you are o.k. No more talk of bad mummying, do you hear me, young lady ... telling off expression {wink]M is the same, as others have said, daisy and ceebee for e.g. won't be put down for 5 mins, been like this for about 3 weeks I think. Driving me nuts. Brill in public. I think people think I am making it up !!
M pulled himself up to standing today. Held onto sofa and pulled himself up. Stood for ages , watching was ds1 was doing .

Oblomov · 18/07/2009 15:57

Forgot to tell you all. I shaved all M's hair off. Sounds more drastic than it is. It was all uneven with loads of long bits. My friend the hairdresser said to stimulate it , to shave it as short as you dare. So we did it at 3/4 of an inch. Which if you measure on your fingers, you will realise this is hardly a grade 1 !! But it looks a lot better.

LackaDAISYcal · 18/07/2009 17:49

I've not seen one in the flesh LB! Bring it to the next meet up so I can kick myself that it wasn't available when I bought mine

now who is it who has a Zoom? Is it ellie? Must say I'm singularly unimpressed with it so far.

bumble was trying to pull up on my legs last night, but bless him he is so top heavy that when I help him stand, his wee thin lower legs are all wobbly cos they can't take the strain!

I'm sure M looks like a handsome wee devil now Obs......DS1 had his first haircut at six months for exactly the same reasons, it was all short and long bits. bumble's is growing in much more evenly but than all his fell out, whereas DS1's didn't.

coolkat · 18/07/2009 18:16

Becca had her 1st hair cut last week and I should have got it done earlier, she has lots of hew growth now.

I don't feel to well, headache, temp, sore throat. Feel ready for bed. DH will be home later!

Better go Becca waiting for my boobie!!

vbab78 · 18/07/2009 19:50

tegan hope you had a nice day once the mad rush was over.
coolkat glad things been better with Becca today. Sorry to hear you are feeling a little unwell. I think a glass of wine purely for medicinal purposes is necessary. I keep feeling under the weather with different cold symptoms but it never seems to develop to full cold which I think is sometimes worse.

Things fine here. I think the hol was what the doctor ordered stress wise. Still have the occasional bad moment as most people do but seem so much calmer. Saying that only been back a week so early days. Alyssa is an amazing girly who is happy for the most part. Tends to sleep through from bed which latest about 7pm. Still only 2 teeth. Crawls by pulling herself along. Think she has said "mummy" and "daddy" but of course "daddy" was first like with DS. She is a very strong willed girly and although mostly settles herself for bed and naps we do occassionally have our "fights". DS is an amazing boy who I sometimes cant believe is only 3 with the things he says. He does of course have he off moments or days when he is naughty or just ignores what i tell him really. The worst thing he does at the moment when I tell he off is breathe in deeper and say deeply and loudly "mummy" with a bad look on his face. Grr. Had a proud mummy moment this week when I saw him in his first school uniform looking a lot older than he is. Me and DH are a lot better than we were. Not 100% but at least both working on it and know we want to be together. work i've sent my email requesting a change of days and hours of work when I go back 31st Aug. Fingers crossed. I have asked 1&half days a week (was 4days when preg) due to childcare availability and running back and forth with DS at half day school. Fingers crossed.

ellielou02 · 18/07/2009 19:51

ladybuzz I love a new pushchair too, daisy I dont have a zoom I have a buzz at the mo, but seriously thinking of the BJMC as looks at bit lighter.
All these babies with their hair cuts must look very smart, millies seems to be longer on top and shorter round the back just now and it seems to be going curly on top lol.
hope you feel better soon coolkat.

cricri · 18/07/2009 20:04

Evening ladies
Just wanted to say thanks to Pinky and Daisy for their comments on settling and feeding to sleep the other day. E was very agitated this evening but I put the lightshow on whilst she was feeding and she ended up relinquishing my boob (which she was just using as a dummy by that point ) and watching it before going off to sleep. Result! I'll keep doing this in our bed and then I'll attempt putting her in her cot.
Tegan Hope the wedding went OK and that you all had a great time. I love a good wedding
Vbab You sound a lot more cheerful and I'm pleased things are better at home. Hope work agree to your request.
Coolkat E is another unsettled baby - you're doing a grand job from what you say, it is very hard sometimes. Hope you feel better soon.
Obs at M pulling himself up! E is like Daisy's Bumble, all wobbly when I pull her up to standing so I don't think she's going to be ready any time soon. She seems to be determined to crawl though, even though at the moment she flails around desperately on her front and then cries. Yet as soon as I sit her up again she's back onto her front - repeat a dozen times a day!
Hope everybody has a lovely Saturday evening - DH is cooking dinner but only started an hour ago so goodness knows what time we'll be eating. He's a great cook but takes ages over all the preparation etc. Oh well, can't complain too much I suppose!

Ceebee74 · 18/07/2009 20:33

Evening all

Cricri the Hamster was exactly like E a couple of weeks ago - would continually roll onto his tummy and then screech. These last few days, he seems happier on his tummy and will stay like that for a few minutes now - I have even found him asleep on his tummy occasionally so he is obviously getting used to it.

Vbab you sound so much happier than pre-hols Glad all is going well. Saw the photos on FB of your DS in his school uniform - he looked so grown-up and proud!

Tegan hope the wedding went ok although the preparations sounded a bit of a nightmare!

Although the Hamster is not pulling himself up to standing by himself, if you stand him up, he is very stable and his legs seem very strong - although I think he is a long way of pulling himself upto standing by himself yet.

As for hair, the Hamster's is growing back nice and even which is a relief! When DS1's grew back, there were a few strands that hadn't fallen out and they were much longer than the rest and looked pretty silly - although it still took me until he was over 18 months old to get his first haircut (it was the continual assumptions that he was a girl that did it in the end ) Having said that, he still got mistaken for a girl at the park today - despite being dressed from head to toe in dark blue Thomas stuff

vbab78 · 18/07/2009 20:50

thanks for your nice words ladies. just read my earlier post and realised i should have read before posting as my english is terrible .

giggle - went shopping at morrisons earlier. needed some body lotion so was smelling some, like i do. it went SPLAT out of the tube all up my nose and face . Honestly it could only happen to me!

vbab78 · 18/07/2009 21:06

just remembered another giggle ... last night thought i was going to have to perform surgery on Nemo, DS goldfish . Realised while watching a film he had 4 1cm spikes sticking out of his mouth which i think where part of the plant in his tank. After 30mins it hadnt moved. Nemo had tried to swallow it and even knock it out. Thought he was in trouble. I said to DH i will leave Nemo a little longer while watching the film if no change I will get the fish net and try to tweezer the plant out. Anyway Nemo sorted it himself as no plant when I looked next. So 45mins of worry over a goldfish and contemplating doing my own type of surgery. Afterwards I thought to myself "its only a goldfish". Funny when I think about it but I would have been gutted if anything had happened to my DS goldfish. Never a dull moment ladies .

LackaDAISYcal · 18/07/2009 21:26

lol vbab, was it nice? although I'm sure having the smell of it up your nose all day has put you off it for life, even if it was nice!!

I love the photos of DS in his uniform too, but FB is going bananas for me and won't let me comment on things, it just keeps locking up; it's making playing scrabble reeeeaaaallllly tedious.

bumble is feeding like a newborn again; I am bloody ravenous all the time again and my poor boobs are like pitta breads!! He is also eating everything that comes within grabbing distance so I don't know where he is putting it. Do they have an 8.5 month growth spurt?

DH is going to sleep in with the littlies tonight in the hope that we can put bumble off wanting a night feed. I think it's time he was sleeping all night.

barbareebaa · 18/07/2009 23:19

hello!
soft play lookslike a grand idea daisy - am up for thatif everyone else is!
Hope Tegan's day was less stressful than anticipated!
Vbab haha! that's the kind of thing I would do with the moisturiser!
hair W has a long comb-overy bit - I would be lynched if I suggested cutting it tho - my mum even comments if I wet it si it stays flat!
Think maybe pnd. Am going to go see dr with dh next week - his suggestion but can see why. I am defo out of sorts, have been for a while but assumed that it was normal reaction to stress - all mums feel. Did edinburgh test with dh and scored 23.
Sorry daisy but did lo re:pitta breads

LackaDAISYcal · 19/07/2009 00:20

barbs and hugs for you. PND sucks. It does get better with the right treatment though.

reet, off to bed as I promised DH a lie in tomorrow after him being on the night shift trying to deflect bumble from wanting a feed so I'll be up early.

off to order new bathroom and tiles tomorrow and feeling quite excited about it!

vbab78 · 19/07/2009 09:41

lacks happy tile picking.
barbareebaa so sorry to hear you have been down and so bad you believe PND. Really good that your DH is really supportive and a visit to the doctor for help is a good idea.

I didnt know about the Edinburgh test. Found it on the net and did the test. I scored 10 which I guess is ok but I also did the test based on how I have felt since A was born but up until my hol and scored 22 . I did think and say a few times at my worst "that i was done with DS" and "maybe if I wasnt here DS would be happy and everyone better off" . Not sure what to make of my 2 very diff results. Amazing what diff a week can make. Maybe I have PND just having a better time at the mo? At least I'm more aware and will keep an eye on it.

vbab78 · 19/07/2009 15:20

Forget my previous posts saying I feel good since the hols. Been to meadowhell to find 2 outfits, one for a friend's wedding and the kids christenings. GOT NOTHING after going around the place for ages. So now feel like s**t.

My mates are all sorted for the wedding with very fancy dresses and head gear. There wasnt much at all but the only 2 "posh" looking nice outfits I saw where really expensive. On my budget I refuse to, even if it looked ok if I tried it on, to buy something VERY expensive for 1 wear. But on a sort of good note I tried on 3 dresses size 14 and they were massive but realised the off the strapless look doesnt suit me .

Any good websites where you can send stuff back free etc?

Also need advice ... how do I tell some good mates who live Manchester way (so an hour away) that my kids are being christened but they arent invited?

ellielou02 · 19/07/2009 17:22

vbab are you ok?
Next take returns for free or you can return to the store!
am feeding millie so just a quickie, just be honest with your friends if its limited space etc if they are good friends they may be a little dissapointed but will understand!

LackaDAISYcal · 19/07/2009 18:45

oh vbab ....nothing like shopping centre mirrors to suck every last ounce of self confidence. I HATE shopping for at reason. Is there a Debenhams near you? rrThey do a shopping service where the stylist helps you pick stuff out. It's free and you aren't obliged to buy anything. A friend did it and said it was great as the stylist put her in things that she wouldn't have looked twice at.

Bad bad mummy here .....bumble fell out of the bed this morning. I had fed him and nodded off whilst doing so, but he obviously hadn't. I woke to an almighty thump followed by "Waaaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhh" I think it was more injured pride than anything else though as he didn't cry for long, but he kept looking at me and letting out these wee sobs...just to remind me it was my fault!

We have a toilet/sink/taps and floor and wall tiles in our garage and the bath is on order!!!! Shopping was hell with two whingy and one un-cooperative child. Add my inability to make a decision and we ummed and ahhed for waaaaaay too long. Eventually bit the bullet and bought some, so it's too late now! I can't wait for it to be finished and am quite excited about leaving for holiday with an avocado green monstrousity and come home to a hotel en-suite

barbareebaa · 19/07/2009 19:02

vbab oh tis awful clothes shopping - I know! Agree with daisy shopping centre mirrors - blargh! I am at present dressed top to toe in Tu!
Think that it's good to keep a check on how you feel and be aware of it. I have been aware of it but thought it was normal. Now I'm wondering if I have to feel like this, if there's a chance I don't have to i.e. someone can help me then I'm going to go for it. Dh is just amazing - what he has had to put with - psycho bitch, threats, evil faces but then on the flip side hyper positive woman - extremely over the top. Which is just as scary. My normal persona is calm - never been a stresser/ suffered pmt so totally out of character.
Daisy hurah that you have new bathroom - how lovely!! Poor Bumble - I think a lot of babies do that particular journey do they not? my nephew fell off the bed once whilst in my care W fell off the mattress today but it's on the floor so not so far but still he was a bit
