Hi ladies
Aw barbs I hope you get support from your GP, I am right in saying you were there recently though so I hope you get what you are needing and start feeling like yourself again, if they offer counselling/CBT you should take it, it is worth it if you get a good cousellor(sp?) psychologist, keep posting though and it sounds like you have a good support network with your family and friends. IMO you do change after you have kids and its important to get the balance of having time for you too, try and have a night out with the girls and time on your own with DH.
vbab that is great and I think you sound alot better too
coolkat your clothes sound lovely.
I will go and catch up properly later sorry if I missed people

PinkyMinxy · 10/08/2009 23:32

vbab that sounds like great news- well done you for finding a way through!

barbs I just wanted to post afetr reading your message. I have lived a long time with those sorts of feelings, I know how debilitating they can be. I agree with Ellie- CBT is by all accounts great for PND- along with the tablets. And cut yourself lots of slack, make time for yourself and your friends- friends are so important for just getting through the days sometimes.I always remember those lovely words you wrote about feeling blessed to be the guardian of W- you are a really fabulous mummy. Take care.xx

Ceebee74 · 11/08/2009 08:47

Barbs wow, thank you for sharing and I am sure actually admitting it to yourself has helped as you can now be proactive about it. I really hope your GP prescribes what you need and I agree that counselling/CBT is a good way forward. And W is doing so well, that you are clearly a fantastic mummy who loves him very much

Vbab woohoo for you! Great news about work - I bet that is such a weight off your mind. And I agree that the time you spend at work will probably do you the world of good.

All good here - Hamster's teeth still haven't appeared. Am beginning to wonder if he will still be toothless when he is 15

coolkat · 11/08/2009 10:22

Barbs I have come through the other side of bad PND and want to let you know it will get better. It sounds like you have great support from thse close to you. You must speak with them so they know how you feel regularly, don't block your DH out. I did this I hope the GP visit is useful but most of all I hope you start to feel better soon. X x

Ceebee we to have no teeth but lots of teethng symptoms! Up again in the night, DH f'in alerter and Becca feeding again.... Rahhhh

Sun in shining here, I always feel better when the sun is shineing!

Vbab Yeah for the work issues being sorted.

juanitad · 11/08/2009 13:52

Vbab, great news that work situation is sorted, bet you are feeling really upbeat about it now, I'm so pleased for you

barbs, sorry to hear how you are feeling at the moment, I'm sure you'll get the help you need when you go to the doc, or at least get the ball rolling. I saw just what a happy little boy W was when I met you both and I could see what a great mum you are, don't ever forget that!

Oblomov · 12/08/2009 07:52

Vbab, so glad that work thing is resolved. I am going back tues 6th oct. I plan to make this last part of the summer/autumn, with my precious little son, I plan to ...'Make it Count'. Lets do that together, eh ?
Barbs, so sorry to read your post. Hope you are supported by your GP. Have been thinking about you. We are here to support you Barbs. Lots of love.

Yorky · 12/08/2009 08:09

Morning all

Barbs, I'm sorry you're having a hard time, I'm glad you have family support and I hope your GP is as nice as Vbab's. Whitby is lovely, you will have to plan a return trip in a few months and compare how much better you'll feel then

DD gave me a lie in today after a truly hideous night. DS has gone to stay with my parents for a couple of days so we are trying to break DD of night waking - she is feeding more at night than she did as a NB, its habit and me being lazy. So last night I fed her at 1130 and then she screamed from 3ish till 5ish - not solidly we cuddled, rocked, bounced, stroked, shushed her but she didn't feed, then slept till 720 and she still hasn't asked me for milk yet, sat playing very happily atm.
Could have done without it really as we had friends round or a dinner party as their kids are at GPs too! Lovely evening but tired now! So proud my homemade white chocolate and Baileys ice cream worked!

CEEBEE i will be picking my m&b mag up today.

O has had me up since 4am, this can't go on, it's killing me. I even had to go to bed yesterday afternoon for an hour as i am feeling shit through lack of sleep.

Ceebee74 · 12/08/2009 08:57

Morning

Tegan I wish I had some good advice for you but I don't - but I feel your pain. Being tired is just the pits - particularly when you have older DC to look after aswell Have you tried posting a thread on the Sleep section?

Yorky really hope you can crack the night times aswell...and make sure you have a nap when DD does today

I return to work in less than 5 weeks now - but have got the date of my gallbladder op and it is Tues 6th Oct so I will be at work for 3 weeks then off sick - not sure my boss it too impressed with that!!

For anyone who is interested here are my beautiful shoes that I bought yesterday. I just need to find either a matching handbag/necklace/bracelet now as I thought they would look nice with a black suit with matching accessories (or is it not the 'done thing' to match shoes and handbag??)

coolkat · 12/08/2009 09:30

Nice shoes Ceebee.

I am so tired too Tegan and Yorky, don't know whats wrong with Becca we have reverted to crying out and waking every hour or two throughout the night and still waking for the day at 6.30. I feel pissed off with it, why won't she sleep. If we have another bad night I am going doc's to check her ears etc as something must be wrong DH on nights tonight so I am going to go to bed really early. Wakings usually start about 10ish onwards.

On a brighter note I am meeting friends for lunch today with no kids and then going for a haircut

Its horrible weather here today, I am not even showered yet

coolkat · 12/08/2009 09:31

I return to work sept 1st

Rosa · 12/08/2009 11:02

Have sent DH to tescos to get M& Baby ( along with a huge other list of things !!!
We haven't any teeth either so don't worry ceebee!
Barbs you are being so open about your problems that is very brave of you to open up I hope it gets better soon and mor important you get the support you need.

working ladies - good luck . I think I am going to have to retrain as I gave up work when dd1 was born and due to dh hours I think that I will have to do something different now !! Oh well will see.

juanitad · 12/08/2009 11:31

Yorky, P is much the same with the night feeds - I have not yet tried to break the habit as it always seems quicker just to feed him whenever he wakes up. I keep putting off trying to stop the night feeds (or at least cut down), as it seems so hard. However it is 3 weeks till I go back to work so I guess I should give it a go sooner rather than later.....let me know how you get on with DD

juanitad · 12/08/2009 11:35

Love the shoes ceebee, what a bargain!!

Oblomov · 12/08/2009 13:52

Love the shoes ceebee. I cansee you now strutting your stuff into work, with a smart black suit and these shoes and matching handbag. HR aint never had it so glam
Total sympathy to coolkat, tegan, and yorky, with their sleepless ones. I really don't know what to suggest. M is still waking for one feed, quite often, but this is o.k. for me. unlike you guys, who seem to be getting very little sleep.
"hush little ones, sleeeeeeeeep, sleeeeeep " - oblomov sends mantra to little sleepless ones

coolkat · 12/08/2009 16:26

"All I want for Christmas is a full nights sleep"

So ladies went and had Becca weighed now 18lbs 3 so falling off her line. Advice from health visitor have I tried her with juice What would juice do? I said why do I need to give her juice when she drinks water and there is no nutritional value in juice. But apparently it would give her variety. It has really wound me up. What do you guys think

Coolkat stumbles off muttering Juice, Juice, why Juice?

PinkyMinxy · 12/08/2009 17:32

hi All
Maybe HV is thinking if you fill her with juice just before going to clinic she might weigh more?! Very strange suggestion, but then HV never cease to amaze with their novel theories.

ceebee shoes look very lovely. I think you will look fab in them.

Much sympathy to the no sleep camp.

Not much sleeping going on here atm DS is up with this cough, then DD1 had a really bad nightmare, then mimi woke at 5 am for milk. on the up side noone surfaced til 8:30.

Off on holiday on friday, really looking forward to it.

Rosa I'm undecided about wether I'm back to the drawing board woth my career or not. I think I'll se who I am when I emerge from this therapy!

tegan · 12/08/2009 18:30

thanks all for the kind words re sleep or lack of.

got m&b today can't believe the testing was 6 months ago. also might try the sleep training feature tonight.

Ceebee74 · 12/08/2009 20:33

Coolkat that is a bit odd Juice indeed (double ) I can only assume that she was thinking about the extra calories Becca would get but am sure juice is the last way you would increase her calories!!

Pinky have a lovely holiday - am so of all your holidays as this will be the second year in a row we have not had a holiday (and the year before that, we went to Anglesey for a week which had to rate as the worst holiday ever!)

Tegan hope the sleep training plan works - can't be any worse than your current situation can it??

Ds1 ended up in my bed last night which is unheard of as he loves his own bed. No idea what prompted him to come in at 2am and ask if he could, I asked him 'why' and he said 'cos I love you' - I didn't have the heart to turn him away then

twinklingfairy · 13/08/2009 13:14

Just bookmarking cos fell off again.
J gonna wake up any minute now, I am sure, and DD has been left to her own devices for long enough I reckon.
coolkat Juice!? stoopid woman!!
pinky hols, how lovely. We are just back froa few days at PIL, which I was dreading but actually turned out to be brilliantly relaxing.
Hope yours are good too.

DH is off until Monday but is at dentist right now, just called with the question, 'Root canal treatment (heaps of money we just don't have) or extraction?'
I just could not decide, so sent him to call his dad. Hopefully DH will confess we can't afford huge teeth bills and lovely FIL will offer to pay.
Either way, think I might run away to my mums to avoid bear with a very sore head, literally, DH.
I know I should stay but, I am a really crap nurse! I honestly think I am best out of the way.

twinklingfairy · 13/08/2009 13:22

Just had a call from DH
Neither of the treatments were required. He was just supposing, I hadn't realised. I had thought that those had been the options from the dentist.
Phew! Only a deep clean out and a fresh filling. The tooth in front is done in though so, reckon it will have to come out at some point and a crown will have to be paid for.
Silly,...more than silly, stoopid DH for not cleanin his teeth properly. I tried to tell him. You should see his tooth brush after about a week it looks like a loo brush, but he won't listen.
He will now!
Listen to me I told you so.
But I did!

LadyBuzz · 13/08/2009 16:26
