fudge thanks lovely. will have a think. to be honest even before the kids I have always had the personality where i get stressed and down easily but i always seem to manage. If anything it is like the stress helps me get on with things. MAKE SENSE ? I may be a little PND but i find it had to distinguish between maybe PND and my personality. But I do think that aside me and DH are in a bad way and I never seem to be able to talk to him no matter how hard i try. He isnt easy to talk to about important stuff. I am over emotional apparantly.

Dont know whether to just keep my mouth shut and soldier on like i do in everything. By then i will be back at work, DS at school and circumstance diff and maybe we might be. Dont know really. RE PND i did the scale barb mentioned and I got 10 after hol 20's before hol. So i took it as PND is a no. Stuck rock and hard place at mo. Want to be sure as i know all the upset involved but just not sure if i'm chicken and scared of being on my own as havent been for a long time. Not scared of being a single mum though as i do it all now.

vbab78 · 28/07/2009 17:38

hard not had. duh.

PinkyMinxy · 28/07/2009 19:00

Hello all

Juanitad glad you all had a lovely holiday.

Daisy lOVE the name!! It's fab. Would love to have a go at bumblebee in a nappy, shall we have a Blue Peter style competition??

vbab I cannot comment on your relationship, or how you and your DH feel about yourselves or each other, but you seem very down generally, and you seem terribly down on yourself, never mind DH, I would personally consider talking to GP about finding someone to talk to about things.

I have horrid ear infection adn have to go to get my ear hoovered tomorrow. YUCK.

vbab78 · 28/07/2009 20:46

pinky thinking about GP not sure yet. As long as i can remember i have been down on myself. Hated the way I looked and even how i spoke. Got more confident over the years and believe it or not I am no where near as bad as i used to be. I was a real pain the arse. IT MUST HAVE BEEN BAD. It was when I met DH at 18 that I started to like myself and feel confident. He encouraged me to be more confident in my looks and in just being me. Its his fault I am so damn outspoken. Its kinda biting him in the arse.

UPDATE got the guts to speak to DH. Said everything and made it clear this is "the wake up call". Went well i think . No raised voices, communication on both sides and the customary few tears from me. Call us WORK IN PROGRESS. THANK YOU LADIES. TIME WILL TELL. xXx

Yes def need a blue peter competition. Maybe have diff age categories too for the kiddies . DS would tell you the picture was a bee in a nappy but probably be purple scribbles. BLESS.

ellielou02 · 28/07/2009 21:03

vbab glad you have spoken to DH "its good to talk" lol I agree with FOF dont make any rash decisions until you have been to speak to someone relating to your mood, I know what you mean with DH saying your too emotional I have that feeling about myself at times and it doesnt help him vocalising it, I am myself not confident and dont like the way I look at times but have learned that I am me and my DH loves me as do my girls, my family & friends and have lots of other qualities, as do you, I for one think you are very kind and a loving wife and mother, I also think if I met you in real life you would be a great friend and full of fun so dont beat yourself up. Go and speak to DR tell him everything and remember PND is a hormone imbalance so if you need tablets to correct it so be it. I hope i havent spoken out of turn. Oh and keep posting
pinky yuck at the ear lol.

chocolategal · 28/07/2009 21:15

Hi everyone.
Glad you talked to your DH vbab.
Just trying to get organised for 1st day at work tmw.

Hopefully catch up tomorrow

vbab78 · 28/07/2009 21:38

chocolategal good luck tomorrow. It will be a nice rest .

LackaDAISYcal · 29/07/2009 00:07

Good Luck for tomorrow chocgal

PinkyMinxy · 29/07/2009 00:09

hey good luck for tomorrow chocolategal!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/07/2009 00:10

oh, and real nappy users, did you know that Flame is shutting up shop . she was my first introduction to cloth nappies.

Some nappy bargains to be had. There are a couple of threads about it as well.

vbab78 · 29/07/2009 08:23

On a completely diff note ... Are buggy boards worth the money (DS 3yr)? Also are they any good during winter months? Just thinking about when DS starts school Sept. A in buggy and DS walking but probably taking double the time. Thing is I was told that the buggy board couldnt go on A's buggy (M&P Aria) due to the handles. So DH has said I should have bought a better diff buggy at the time. I KNOW but it is an amazing buggy and i got that deal (REMEMBER?) at £99.99 which was cheaper than most buggies anyway.

vbab78 · 29/07/2009 09:35

forgot to say last night .... When DH got home from work I was sorting the kids after their bath in DS room. DH came to the top of the stairs ... DS went runnning to DH and said "i come back to this house to see you because i havent seen you" . Then A spotted DH went mental and did the fastest commando crawl ever to her daddy . I half expected flames from the carpet! DH was nearly crying. Both kids had acted this way to their daddy completely without prompting from me. Bless them.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/07/2009 10:10

vbab, doesn't the aria have a little shelf that DS could stand on anyway? I know the pliko does.

We are all still ill this morning. DD and bumble have barking coughs and keep crying after every cough or sneeze and I feel like my cold is going to my chest. On a positive note though bumble slept all night....8 till 6.30.

I really want to go back to bed, but no chance. The littlies are playing tag, in that no sooner do I get one cuddled and stopped crying, the other one starts. I have bumble tucked up beside me as I type and DD is just lying on the floor watching TV (not like her at all). I've also got a tonne of stuff to do, including sorting out what we are taking on holiday, and clearing out the bathroom ready for the builders.

Ceebee74 · 29/07/2009 10:28

Morning all

Daisy poor you and your babies but on a positive note, better now than next week eh? Where are you going on holiday?

Vbab not sure about buggy boards tbh but only because my DS1 would just jump and run off if we used one so I wouldn't trust him My M&P's pram does have a little buggy board on the back but when we have tried using it (when DH is around aswell to catch DS1) DS1 can't seem to stand up straight on it and there is nothing for him to hold on to as if he holds onto the handles, he ends up leaning right back How far a walk is the school and how likely is your DS1 to run off? Anyway, sorry I missed your posts last night but glad you and DH managed to have a talk - but I agree with the others that maybe a talk to your GP would maybe help?

Pinky hope the hoovering goes well although it does sound pretty grim!

All ok here - Hamster had his second full day at nursery yesterday and was absolutely fine again Plus he comes home in a really good mood which makes that hour before bathtime/bedtime so much easier - normally he is in a right grouchy mood during that time which always makes it that little bit harder. Maybe he doesn't really like spending the days with me??

LackaDAISYcal · 29/07/2009 10:33

or maybe he's glad to see you after a busy day at nursery ceebee

We're off to the Broads, HERE. I can't wait; two whole weeks. We have never been for a two weeks holiday before, usually only one and I get fed up with just starting to unwimd when it's time to go home.

vbab78 · 29/07/2009 12:11

lacka That place for your hol look beautiful. Will bookmark it for when we look at hols next year.
buggy board dont think i will bother due to cost of board and maybe another buggy. just see how it goes.
doctor got appt Tuesday. Dont know what to say to her. Not sure if PND or not. Really nervous. DH trying to get time off work to come with me but his work can be arses. prob end up going just me and A as DS at nursery.
meeting at work next Wednesday. Eek. I have the right to take a work colleague in. Do you think I should? Didnt last time I changed hours but that wasnt about coming back off maternity.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/07/2009 12:41

vbab, I would definately take someone in with you. Just keeps things straight with regard to "he said, she said" stuff.

PinkyMinxy · 29/07/2009 16:44

Hols look fab daisy, hope you are all feeling better.
Well no hoovering today he did try but it's too impacted (yuck) have to go back next week. JOY

vbab you don't have to go to yuor doctor saying you think you have PND, I'm not sure you have - what you should do is go in and tell her the things you have said to us- how you feel day to day, how incidents have affected you/how you react etc.

Hope the work interview goes well.

ceebee I bet Hammy is just pleased to see you!

LadyBuzz · 29/07/2009 17:22

Hi everyone, I have been away for a few days due to my laptop lead being in for repair [grr] I felt lost without the net.

I have read through all of the posts but have also forgotten most of them!

Choc hope work is ok for you

Hope everyone who is ill or has poorly babies is feeling better.

Daisy LOVE Bumblebums.

Vbab good luck at the docs, I agree with Pinky just tell them what is going on. I am on the ADs now but am positive its not PND just difficulty in dealing with the current sitution. If you want to talk FB me, you know I have had a similar situation recently.

J had his 8-12 month check today - he is 23lbs big fatty .
He has been quite poorly over the last week but I think there is a sign of a tooth coming now so I think it could have just been that! he has also decided he no longer wants to be fed so we are just having finger food at the moment. Its sooo hard trying to think of finger foods - Any suggestions welcome. He is currently eating bread and toast fingers and cheese!!

Hi to everyone else

tegan · 29/07/2009 17:52

hi all

had a naff day today O has whinged all day and not eaten anything but i think tooth number 1 could be through anyday now.
dh has just left for work but threw uo in the sink before going, over all the washing up, dirty sod.

Oh and dd2 was up all night, or should i say i was up all night becaused of her heavy breathing and snoring but hopefully that will be fixed when her tonsils come out.

chocolategal · 29/07/2009 19:56

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. Work was fine today, everyone was really nice and made me feel like they were glad to have me back. It's surprising how soon it feels like you've never been away. DS of course was spoiled rotten by MIL

yay for the good sleep daisy but sorry you are still feeling so crappy.
Hope that tooth appears soon tegan and O is back to normal soon.
That sounds painful today pinky!
Goodluck with the Drs vbab, I agree I would go in saying you think you have pnd, just describe how things have been, how you have been feeling and see what they say. Either way sounds likeca positive step so well done.
Glad the hamster is enjoying nursery ceebee, I agree that hour before bath/bed is hard! I am sure he is in a good mood as he has his mum back.
Glad J's checkup went well, we don't get one until they are 1 here.

Hi to everyone, am sure I've missed someone!

ellielou02 · 29/07/2009 20:19

Have just had my neighbour screaming at me basically she lets two of DD1's friends walk her dog and one of the friends had asked DD1 to come with her (no road just a grassy square between her garden and mine), anyhoo she went but is very ward of dogs and the dog got past her at the gate (she prob jumped out of the way) so the woman starts chasing the dog (in her pyjamas) up the path and another little boy caught the dog, so she then starts screaming at my DD to keep away from her property and what did she think she was doing letting her dog out, so DD come running up the garden and bangs on front door I went out and said whats wrong (DD1 in hysterics) the woman then turned on me saying to keep them all away from her property and she is in her pyjamas and has a muscle wasting disease and had to chase her dog, so I apologised at least 3 times and said would make sure DD1 never come to her house again, she then started screming at me again so I just went in my house and shut door, but could still hear her screaming at me. WTF is she letting 5 year olds walk her dog for? I dont mind anyone telling my children when they have done wrong but DD1 is petrified. Am so angry now am shaking
Sorry for me post

chocolategal · 29/07/2009 20:25

vbab that should have said I wouldn't!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/07/2009 21:14

pinky, what about the old wives remedy of olive oil in the ear to soften up the wax? My Dad used to swear by it.

ellie, on your behalf. Hopefully your naighbour will calm down and realise she has been rude and scary and will apologise. Silly mare! I hope your DD is not too traumatised by it.

babies are a bit better here this evening, although bumble has been unsettled in bed. they both sound like they have a 40 a day habit though and bumble keeps clearing his throat like a scummy old man . I hope everyone is well for our holiday. I'll maybe take them both to see the doctor on Friday if their coughs haven't cleared.

I am going to be taking some knitting on holiday with me, and hope to finish a couple of unfinished projects.

PinkyMinxy · 29/07/2009 21:39

daisy I have got some bicarb drops from the ent guy, so hopefully they will have more sucess next week. It is really quite painful now. The olive oil thing does work- I use it routinely as I often have problems with this ear- but this situation requires more drastic measures!lol.
Perhaps you could knit me some ear defenders

I think I am going to have to start wearing earplugs when I go swimming as I think that is what has caused this latest infection.

MMy dc have had that old man 'productive' cough too, but they seem on the mend now. I hope your DC are better for their hol. TWo weeks is lovely, isn't it? I am really looking forward to ours.
ellie that lady sounds like a crazy lady! How afwul for you all. It really shakes me up when confronted by people like that. I'm not suprised the dog legged it, TBH. Hope your little girl is ok.x
