hope everyone has a good night

chefswife · 20/07/2009 23:28

I can't keep up with you ladies!

hongkongzoe · 21/07/2009 08:53

....Just popping into say I heart the jumperoo...Jude is bouncing and grinning his little head off, have been feeling super guilty as he is sooooo neglected compared to DD when she was his size and this is great...DD is playing wityh him in it the whole time too, both of them chuckling away. Five mins at a time seems to be about his max though.

Grr at the nurse forgetting you Dog...hope it goes ok, have never really minded smears, last time I went

ah, the jumperoo - c loves hers still, and is still standing on a book because her legs are a little too short (i think we will be dispensing with the book soon though) for it. she can amuse herslef in it for a good twenty minutes at a time, which is, interestingly, the precise amount of time a proper cup of tea calls for

blw proceeding apace, she is exceedingly partial to rice cakes, manages to eat quite a lot before chucking them on the ground - they do always wind up on the ground though. we had baby sweetcorn yesterday (thanks for the tip, pat) which she seemed to enjoy chewing up, though i think she spat it all out rather than eating it. still, the practice is the thng, eh?

tree, bali sounds perfect. do you know anyone who can 'identify' the poisonous bug you found in your baby's porridge...? and is there going to be a baby sitting service, or are we leaving the little blighters darlings at home...?

also, dog, smears a bit ick but don't take long. at nurse

PatTheHammer · 21/07/2009 10:38

stripey have faith, you will be finding bits of sweetcorn poo very soon methinks. By the way, the mess she is making looks just about right.

Bali......I'm game, if like Stripey says, we can leave them at home! Not a spa experience if you have a baby hanging off you

dog i am about 4 years overdue on my smear, really must go soon. I have had 2 and were both fine, if you have had a stretch and sweep its no worse than that, even a bit better.

hKZ Never mind the jumperoo, excellent vaginal muscles envy .

Off to see my 3mth old nephew, probably get broody again, ridiculopus isn't it!

PatTheHammer · 21/07/2009 10:39

ridiculous obviously, must be all that vagina talk

qumps · 21/07/2009 11:37

OMG sooo excited at the thought of even a pretend spa with no children. Shall we have a designated time where we all just sit and dream that we are at one? We could put our feet in a bowl of hot water to help pretend. And smear porridge on our faces (thats where most of it seems to end up anyway).
Slightly better night in that S went to 5am. Bought him a vtech mobile that projects light onto the ceiling and plays tunes and nature noises so tried to put that on when he woke. He FREAKED out and I HAD to take him up to my bed for a cuddle .
Bad mother probably but S is usung a walker in the kitchen and loves it. His best games are standing and looking at himself in the bin and the oven or throwing all the magnets off the fridge. His big brother also like pushing him around 'really fast'!
At work so just a sneaky post but finish in an hour for the summer. Yaya!

Well, we just had a resounding blw success. Dd ate half of an avocado cut into thick slices lengthways and a quarter of a banana. Only one lump of avocado came back out and practically no mess! I was gobsmacked and really proud at the same time - what a clever little madam. Not looking forward to the nappy though.

Had a bit of a traumatic morning .

I am not prone to flights of fancy and am a bit sceptical on the old psychic and supernatural front. Two night ago dd was really restless and I turned to face her and put my hand on her chest only to catch sight of a sort of dark shadow at the end of her crib, I just thought "you are overtired and mad woman, ignore it and go back to sleep" but dd was thrashing about and wouldn't settle and I kept on catching sight of it out of the corner of my eye. Eventually I had to get up, grab dd and leg it to put the landing light on. Left the light on all night and slept with my hand on her chest, but still felt very anxious and took ages to get back to sleep.

Last night, went to bed and found I was anxious again so had to sleep the light on and had the distinct 'feeling' there was something 'there' again. Dds apnoea alarm went of three times and I could only find a reason for it once.

This morning after the school run dd fell asleep on my lap so I decided to stay there and have a cuddle as I was too tired to do much anyway. After about half an hour I heard a loud bang upstairs, followed by another loud sound that sounded like when the boys tip one of their toy baskets full of lego or megablocks etc out on the floor and then a dragging noise. It made me jump, then I thought, "don't be daft, its the neighbours" sat there for a bit, heard it again! This time I decided to go upstairs, have a look around and look to see if the neighbours cars were there as that would reassure me (took dd with me upstairs and was actually shaking). Nothing was out of place upstairs and the neighbours were both out! Called my mum in a panic, she was at the hospital, but called me back. She came straight round and did a 'house cleansing' and also got two of her friends who are very well respected in the 'spiritual' field to tune in and send light and energy to me, the children and the house.

I was totally freaked out and I am really not one to be like that. My mum has always been a spiritual person, but I have always tended to take her with a pinch of salt, interested but distant and sceptic iykwim.

The house does feel better, I have to say.

The only thing I can think is that when we first moved in we were told by one of mum's friends that there was a bad energy coming from the non-attached neighbours' house and that it had an impact on this house, which is why it has always been such an unhappy home historically. Now they have been remodelling their house over the past few weeks, culminating in having all the plaster taken off the walls and replastered, walls moved and today all the floors up for rewiring. Now if I wasn't a sceptic, I would think they have disturbed something and it has decided to move in here!

So whaddya think of that then laydeez?!

Off to do last school run for 6 weeks now, back later.

(no time to preview, hope it all makes sense)

kittypink · 21/07/2009 18:51

moose that sounds really scary I'm glad your mum was able to come over and help.

I'm not really sure how it works but I don't think spirits can move house like that. I reckon if the renovations had disturbed anything then it would be hassling the people doing it!

Maybe you have had a friendly spirit pop by to check that you are happy and well?

Or perhaps it's sleep deprivation getting the better of you. Happens to me all the time!

Hope you are ok now.

LenniEd · 21/07/2009 19:11

Just flying past with vaginal muscles envy - I dread to think what the nurse will think of mine at my next smear - another reason to get that pelvic floor toner back out me thinks.

LenniEd · 21/07/2009 19:13

Oh and Dog - hope Isla is ok, poor soul. Not sure on SF, think she would have to have had close contact, don't know for sure though.

And at Qumps getting excited about our trip to Bali. So Tree - when are we going?

kittypink · 21/07/2009 19:25

ebay disaster! Bid for lovely pink sit in activity centre, pick up only in Sheffield which is great, bid £15, but totally forgot to check it before playgroup and it went to someone else.......for £16!!!!!!!!!

All the others are loads of ££££ or miles away. BUM!

treedelivery · 21/07/2009 19:31

Can't stop got the shopping melting in bags -
Moose - I don't believe/don't not believe if you see what I mean. If I were my Gran I'd say sprinkle holly water in all the rooms [she used to do that in thunder and lightning!] I won't tell you all about the night I saw something on a night shift on the ward, 'cos you wont sleep. I hope the house feels lighter now.
Someone told me that spirits oftne move if they are released, often during building works. Or bad energy, or good energy, or lost energy, or whatever it is.

We have jumperoo! SHe only had 10 mins in it as it was 6.30 when we made it back from gym club, nanna, morrisons etc. Jess is exhausted. Hatts was so excited she just shouted at all the toys on it! It's taken 3 yellow pages to get to her feet, so she hasn't mastered bouncing yet.
The lovely lady also sold me a pristine set of toys, an activity cube, a duck with colours and lights etc and a bear with teething rings and general stuff on it, they were £2 each!
We are going to keep in touch and I am going to get more stuff off her as she finishes with them. With dd1 I didn't get anything like this, sh ehad a few bits. We were broke broke broke and I was a bit anti lights and noise, prefering wooden things and heirlooms.

Now frankly, with this dd, I would give her a strobe light and a smoke machine if it meant I could have a wee on my own.

DD1 Gym club was great, she enjoyed it and it does help her bowels so it's al good! She is super duper tired though and not eating well. She hasn't gained weight since last August, so I need to take her back to paeds I feel. Check anaemia isn't creeping in. She is drip white.

Will be back later for gossip.

Waiting to hear from Plum Baby about our Bali holiday, I though take the dc's but with one nanny per 3?

missjackson · 21/07/2009 19:33

Kitty that's a big fat bummer! I always use auction sniper to bid at the last minute, so you really have to put in the highest amount you are happy to pay - you get free snipes to start with, so you should try it out.

Waves to Lenni dog hope Isla is okay - there are probably lots of other regular little colds going around too, so it may well be one of them.

MM spooky! Hope you both sleep better tonight.

qumps, 5am, that's fantastic, surely?! Sounds great to me anyway. After N did 10 hours last night till 4.15am, he was wide awake, and it did take me about half an hour to get him back to sleep (bf-ing in our bed). So it's a double-edged sword really. Usually he wakes 1am, 4am, 7am, but only for a quick feed and since we are co-sleeping, I barely wake. Walker sounds like fun! Whatever keeps them happy...

Is anyone else very tired at the moment? I think it's because I am still exclusively bf-ing my whopping 10 kilo baby.

OH cooking tonight - a rare treat!

missjackson · 21/07/2009 19:36

x-posted with you tree. Glad DD loved the jumperoo. Bali trip sounds great. I'm almost packed but the lady-garden needs some attention .

Can smell burning from below... had better go down and investigate.

kittypink · 21/07/2009 19:46

tree glad DD enjoyed jumparoo. If they are the same thing as a door bouncer (me being easily confused!) then my DD loves hers to!

missj I am also very tired. well done on bf giant baby tho! Hope nothing is on fire!!!!!

Just had even worse ebay disaster. Have managed to buy a walker that is for a doll! Ooooooooops!! Have to go and tell DH now

kittypink · 21/07/2009 19:47

missj LOL at lady garden!

treedelivery · 21/07/2009 19:52

Kitty - bummer aboout missing the auction - the thing to do is tell yourself that the other person was willing to spend a bomb so you would have lost anyway.......

Have allowed myself a very small chuckle at you buying a dolls walker, sorry Bummer though obviously.

Dog, hope Isla ok. The thing is the cough, if she has no respiratory symptom she probably has a cold or virus. Hope the evening goes ok.

PatTheHammer · 21/07/2009 20:09

Don't even get me started on my lady-garden.....would be nice to see it again when my post-zach pouch has gone, then I'll get on with tending it

kitty Those are the reasons I'm no good at ebay. that and my dispute with paypal (they wouldn't let me change my name to married one and when my card expired new one wouldn't work. they asked me to send TWO photographic forms of ID. Errrrrr, get stuffed, not sending photographic ID to any bugger when I needed precisely NO ID to open the flipping thing! Anyway, all in the past...

MissJ I am knackered, reckon its post-illness and also feeding a whopper doesn't help. i have some respite though now Zach is on grub. Truly, truly hope i'm not pg again.........too awful to comprehend!

dog hope DD is well, I'm sure its fine.

tree bless little Hatts in her jumperoo. You may even be able to have that sacred cup of tea and sit down time now. Yay for weeing on your own too!.

moose considering i am a staunch unbeliever in anything ghosty I have a completely irrational fear of the dark. Even now at 29 . So that would have freaked me right out, especially noise (I just think of the bloody exorcist when stuff like that happens). I know with me that I have always had a hugely overactive imagination and after a while I begin to rationalise and laugh at my own nonsense. Difficult if you repeatedly feel a presence though, I'm sure it was nothing sinister as you mum would have felt that right way no? Anyway, maybe sleep with nightlight on for a while, thats what I do when I scare myself!!

Saw my nephew today and the 2 babies really enjoyed playing together, bless them. First time my nephew has really noticed Zach and Zach just kept crawling over and touching him, making excited little noises.
Also went to park and ducks and got rained on.....bleurghhhhh. Anyway, may have a bath in a bit as my back is killing me (keep falling asleep with Zach at night and he weighs a ton!).

PatTheHammer · 21/07/2009 20:11

Oh, whoever was asking about Spink. I should be meeting her on friday hopefully, she has successfully moved and just getting internet sorted, i will keep you posted.

LenniEd · 21/07/2009 20:23

Pat am very very of you meeting everyone - another one for good measure
