I too am a strictly addict - I am so excited about it coming back. I think it starts this weekend as well, both Friday and Saturday for the first couple of weeks (ooh yeah!). I am lucky in that DP is also a fan - just asking me to tape it for him Friday as he is on his first proper boozy night out since Jazzy arrived. I know I shouldn't be, but am a bit about it as when he says he will only have a couple, he gets annihilated to the point of throwing up. With lo in with us at the moment, not looking forward to it. I guess if he's too bad, it'll be the sofa for him ( as he is far too tall for it and would wake up all stiff).

Had a nice day today, been out to a Bumps and Babies group so seen some other mums. I know these groups are for the babies to get social but it's so great to just chat with other mums...just like this!

Anyways, someone is screaming for food so best get me norks out...

MrsMcJnr · 15/09/2009 22:01

Hey ladies sorry that I have been AWOL for awhile, we were out most nights with our friends over from Scotland and my internet time was non existent. I am looking forward to some earlyish nights and getting the kids back into some sort of routine. That said Aaliyah slept from 7.30pm ? 8am last night I woke up to a sodden bed and pj top at 6am, the boobs couldn?t hold any more milk! The temperature has dropped quite a bit the last few nights and Aaliyah is now in a short sleeved vest (as before) and a 0.5 tog sleeping bag. She seems to like it. We have also merged her into DS & DH?s bath routine and she seems to enjoy being in the bath with them, even when DS splashes her! She can now hold her head up high and rest up on her forearms when she is on her tummy ? progress! Any way, how are you all??

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 15/09/2009 22:30

Hi all,

I am desperately trying to catch up but struggling with tiredness.

Just wanted to wave and say I'll be back too see how you're all doing, tried to post last night but ran out of time

What is going on? Why is everything bold?

Effie ? I am enjoying keeping up with you on FB sorry to hear about the armchair poo, nightmare! But also quite funny Also amused at your words around the foreskin question ? when we had 5 little boys under 5 at my Mum?s a few weeks ago, I noticed that they all looked different, even the brothers! Well done on the jeans, that?s fab. I?ve lost 5 pounds so far in the last 3 weeks and have 5 more weeks before the Christening so hope to lose about 10 more. The dress I want to wear still looks awful. That book for your friend is a lovely idea.

Taking of the Christening, we got a call from the priest tonight to say we can?t have it on 18 October after all we explained that we had booked far in advance as we had family and friends coming from Scotland. In the end he agreed to a 9pm christening on Sat 17 October. I guess it can?t be helped but I am not happy, Aaliyah and DS will be shattered and it will be dark we are still going to have a party the next day as planned.

Choccie ? hope the neighbours are giving you some breathing space. Glad to hear DS1?s finger is ok. Sorry to hear that Elina is still suffering with colic.

Naat ? hope you are not missing your Dad too much now that he has gone. It?s good to hear that you are getting more sleep. Here in Spain we see the pediatrician and no one else other than for injections. I am losing loads of hair too, my sis did after each of her babies but I didn?t with DS. Would be interested in hearing what they say to you and I hope your tests come back ok.

Bigcar ? Congrats on Edward?s 1st tooth! I keep checking Aaliyah?s mouth as DS got his front two teeth at the bottom around this age. Sorry to hear about DD3?s eye sight another Strictly fan here too, DS loved dancing with me to it last year!

June ? glad to hear you had a great time. I know what you mean about eras ending. The cot is now up in Aaliyah?s room and she has had a few naps in it. I know that I should put the Moses basket away but keep thinking we can get one more week out of it; it is so handy in the lounge. She is still going to sleep in her Amby in our room for the foreseeable future. Don?t worry about C?s dummy; you have plenty of time to wean her off it in the future. Our friends bought us haggis, Avent dummies for DS, Psychologies magazine and Pregnacare vitamins for me and Hipp night milk for DS ? and lots of pressies from them and other friends for the kids

Laura ? hope you are having a lovely time in Liverpool haggis for dinner tomorrow night courtesy of our friends I know what you mean about time flying, it does not seem like 8 years since that awful day on 11/9.

Ermintrude ? sounds like you had a fab time at your sister?s wedding

Hello and welcome Skillbo Jasmine sounds like a dream baby and it is interesting to hear how you have been getting on so far

Littlesarah ? hope you had a good time at your mate?s leaving do, who did look after Alex? What a busy day you had on Friday, very productive. What I would do for some Minstrels!

Tee ? glad to hear that you are feeling better and I hope that Adam?s tum is too poor mite. I totally agree with you on thumbs and dummies, sadly Aaliyah prefers the former!

Silkcushion ? your week sounded lovely. Funnily enough, I have said to DH that now it is cooler we should go and visit places we have not been to and take a picnic with us. Might try Ronda this weekend. DS?s swimming classes start again next week, he has loved being in the pool all summer. Love your DD1?s language DS calls my Mum ?Mummy? too, encouraged by her no doubt, she likes to pretend she has her time all over again!

Hi llynnn ? enjoy DH?s week off

Hey Doris how are things?

Sounds like a lot of us are trying to diet/tone up ? how can we help each other do you think??

bigcar · 16/09/2009 09:41

morning all

8.30pm friday, that's when strictly starts, at least I'm not the only one

MrsMcJnr, don't know why everything's bold, just seems to be the postnatal threads It is easier to read but I started off thinking everyone was shouting! Sounds like you had a great time with your friends and how nice to bring you all those goodies Lol at your mum, my mum always insisted on being called granny, she thought of goats when she thought of nanny! My mil on the other hand is the opposite, she thinks of granny as a little old lady and prefers nanny That sleep from A was great, waking up in a puddle of milk isn't quite so pleasant Great news on loosing some weight, wish I could be so disciplined!

doris, nice to see you, hope you catch up on some sleep soon, how's your dd getting on?

skillbo, hope dh doesn't over do it! My dh is out tonight for the football (liverpool) but is staying a mates after, otherwise it would be the sofa for him too, can't stand the snoring

Last night was a bit of a disaster, went out for my course and Edward screamed for most of the time I was out I felt terrible when I got home, although he was having a nap by then. He wasn't hungry, I'd fed him before I went and left a bottle that he didn't want. I'm hoping it was just his teeth, dh didn't think to rub his gums and use the teething gel I don't know whether to carry on now, I can't have him like that, it's not fair on the poor little mite

waves to all

June2009 · 16/09/2009 11:13

bigcar dh is the same... but if they don't learn we'll never be able to go out, ever!
I went to the hairsalon and told dh c. would be hungry 30 minutes from then. An hour later and he's just figured out that she has been crying because she is hungry (after tyring to change her, burp her, take her out, give her the dummy etc...)
I'm a stricly fan as well :D

It's been so hectic since we got back from holiday that the past few days are a bit of a blur. I've been reading the thread and instantly forgot what people said.
choccie did the neighbour drop their kids onto you anymore since you spoke to the mother?
naat Hope you get your results soon.
worried how is the feeding going?
mrsmc @ your priest changing the date on you. We finally settled on between christmas and new year because that's when family is over from abroad. Hopefully the date does not get changed!
We'll do a cold buffet round ours after, there should be around 30 people.
re: weight loss, I used to use sparkpeople.com and it was very helpful, you can keep track of what you eat and how much you exercise on it. (free)
I'm open to suggestions on helping eachother, just cannot think how right now :D
I'm not doing well at all with it and we're off to cyprus in october and I have nothing that fits appart from leggings
doris hey! hope you can get some rest soon, are there any additional reasons why you are tired? hope you're ok.
ineed how's the colic? has it been better recently?

We had as cleaner yesterday and I've spent this morning cleaning afer her, we had to tell her to leave she was so bad.
She soaked the parquet floor with water, we told her not to put water on wood, she said "yes ok sorry" and then went on to drench the wooden stairs with water as well. She tried to change the nappy bin and pulled the entire roll out in such a way we cannot use it anymore. She's stuck the toilet rolls sideways on the toilet holders.
This morning I found the open mayo in the cupboard instead of the fridge, the plates where the glasses go in the dishwasher (at the top) and the glasses sideways, also a frying pan inside it, across the whole thing so the arms would not turn. I mean ???
Good thing we stopped her before she started the ironing!!

All right, got a million other things to do and baby just woke up!

Effielou · 16/09/2009 12:26

Hi all xx

Hope everyones well??

I went out last night yayyay but only to the PTA meeting!! we were discussing dates for next years school fete-- didn't like planning that far ahead, as it meant Rupert would have turned 1- its going too quickly already!!! DH asked if he needed to change Ruperts nappy- I said only if he poo'd ( DH hasn't done one yet!!! he sorts out the other 2 )

I managed to think of something for my friends book-- just about when we first met- Can't remember who said about the pictures- but I found a few of one of Immies birthdays.

My mums a grannie too- didn't want nanny for the goat reason !!!

mrsmc its lovely to catch up with fellow facebookers- its nice to put names to faces xx

Rupert has cat napped all day and is now very grumpy- not good when we have grannie coming!!

I'll catch up more later -once ds2 is asweep as ds1 says xxx

silkcushion · 16/09/2009 13:26

quick post on Grannies/nannies. My mum wanted to be granny (and is to all the others). Their surname is Smith so she's Granny Smith to all my nieces and nephews but Megan insists on shouting Gary Smith very loudly whenever we're out in public with her. I honestly think she's now deliberately mispronouncing it because it's funny. Even cuter is how she says her little sister's name. She constantly stroking her fuzzy head and saying 'alwight Ewewi'

Just leaving the gym now having done a good workout and eaten a tuna salad in their cafe - feeling very virtuous

Gotta go as Ewewi has woken up!

Naat · 16/09/2009 13:40

Hi all!

Not liking the bold

Effie, hi! I just read your status comment on FB about DS, LOL! Have you found out why he's mad? Glad you found something you liked for your friend's book.

June, are you joking? That cleaner sounds like out of a cartoon! I'd have gone mental Thank God you asked her to leave before she put the whole house upside down! I still have to get the appt for the blood tests [blood] I just have to get some courage as I have a very very very hard time with it.

Bigcar, awww no, don't feel bad... I think June has a point there, it's not actually you leaving... it's your DH's ability to handle E for a few hours I'm sure with some more instructions he'll have no problem next time. What's the relationship between nanny and goats? I didn't get that one

Mrsmc, at the priest!!! I understand what you saw about how late it'll be and DS and Aaliyah feeling tired but hopefully some long naps will help that day. Glad you had a great time with your friends.

Silk, hi! HOw are things?

I've never seen strictly come dancing, I've just seen clips of dancing with the stars on E news but it lookss fun! I'm ashamed to say we watch the X factor here and I think they're at the same time so I guess I could record it

Oh! Remember on Monday I went to the doc's? Well I walked there with Mila on her pushchair... it's about 15 blocks from home (no idea how to explain things in miles like you ladies ) so I decided to walk rather than take the bus... The road has a looooong way downhill, which, when coming back turned into an uphill and believe me I've had sore buttocks and legs since Monday How sad is that!!! I must get going with pilates asap!!

Hope you're having a good day, ladies!

Waves to all!!!

Naat · 16/09/2009 14:12

Silk, xpost!

how cute is Megan!!! Ewewi
Glad the workout is going so well and you're feeling great too

bigcar · 16/09/2009 14:29

naat, a female goat is known as a nanny goat, hence why some ladies prefer granny We usually watch the early few weeks of x factor but once it starts getting serious it isn't quite so much fun Sounds like you got your exercise for the day on monday! Hope getting your bloods done isn't too bad

silk, very impressed with the gym Maybe I'm not very grown up, but Gary Smith is very funny Your dd sounds a real cutie!

efiie, sounds a fun evening out lol! It's so hard having to think of our los being that grown up, especially when you know it's your last baby. Mind you, this time last year I was waiting for my bfp, that seems an absolute age ago!

june, very at your cleaner, what does her house look like Hope you find a better one soon I know what you're saying about dh, you would have thought being dc5 he'd have the hang of it by now To be fair he had managed to make sure ds1 had done his homework and taken dd2 dancing, he's great with the older ones, just needs to get fully back in the swing with baby

We've had a visit to the clinic today, Edward weighed 17lbs, I think that's about 7.6/7 kg. He really didn't like the scales this week, had to wait to calm him down enough to get a proper reading, don't think he appreciates getting his teeth, it's not like him at all At least it wasn't raining!

ermintrude13 · 16/09/2009 19:15

Aw, Ewewi is wuvverly

Naat We had one Grandma and Grandpa and one Nanny and Grandad. The latter titles are more working class in origin, especially Nan and Nanna. It's good to have some distinction even if it's Grandma This and Grandma That. I've never heard anyone complain about the goat connection - I associate it more with nannies who look after other people's children.

Hope your bloods go ok - just look the other way and try not to think about it. I used to be fine - could happily watch blood being taken - but now I go all faint, so I do sympathise

Bigcar wow, Edward's a big boy! I visited a friend with a baby who's 6wks older than Arthur and they're the same length but he's not quite as stocky as he used to be. Still plenty of chub to squeeze though

Tee2072 · 16/09/2009 20:13

Okay, what is up with the bold?

Anyway, around here we have Grandma and Pops (my mum and step dad) and Grandma and Pops (my step mum and dad) and Granny and Grandad (my PILs).

Yeah, the Grandmas and Popses gets confusing.

OP posts:
worriedamy · 16/09/2009 21:59

Hi everyone, sorry its been a long time since I was on here!

Caelan has a nanny, and two grandads. I had a great grandad that we called Grandpa, but never had a Grandma! My mum said Grandma sounds too old, and nanny is more trendy, aparently!!

Naat so sorry for you that you have to go for blood tests, I hate them too. I was meant to have blood tests after I had Caelan, as my hb dropped to 4, 3 points below transfusion levels! Silly me hasn't gone, as can't build up the courage to have the blood tests- which I know is v v silly of me, as my mum keeps telling me!

MrsMcJnr I started my diet on Monday, soooo need to lose weight, its really getting me down how I look at the moment I feel so fat and unattractive, and with feeding, I'm sick of wearing the same 4 bras, and having all my tops all stretched Holly Willouby on This Morning is not helping- she had her baby in May, and looks amazing!!

Tee and June Caelan has been having a right ol' chomp on his fist for a few weeks now, but still no teeth! I got my first teeth at 3 months aparently, so maybe its not too suprising that Caelan's might be on the way. June, that cleaner sounds awful, but a bit as I would love the idea of a cleaner, the house is a meeeeeess!

silk thats so cute, its lovely the idea of your DC getting on well!

bigcar poor Edward with his teeth, I hope they dont bother him for too much longer

effie been nice catching up with you on FB! I love checking up on peoples statuses!!

Hi Skillbo, Doris, Lynnn, and ermin Laura hope you had a good time in Liverpool, did you see the new Mamas and Papas in Liverpool One?!

Caelan has gone right off his baths these last couple of nights Saturday night DP went out so I did the bathtime at night. Caelan was in the bath, and all of a sudden he started screaming, as though something was hurting him, but I couldn't see anything. He had been in the bath for a couple of minutes, so I dont think it could be the temp. He was just sat in the bath, so it came right out of the blue. It was horrible, it looked as though something scared him, it was a proper cry with tears and everything- heartbreaking Ever since then he screams when he gets in the bath now, and he really likes his baths usually, as he has little toys in their and likes to kick his feet. I tried him sitting on the side of his bath this morning, and after a couple of wimpers he started kicking his feet, so DP is going to take him up for his bath now, and see how it goes. If we have another upset bath tonight, DP is going to try getting in the bath with him tomorrow. Its DPs time with Caelan- if people can remember what I was saying about the feeding and DP feeling a bit left out, bath time was his time with Caelan, and they both seemed to enjoy it! So now feel really bad that Caelan isn't enjoying it anymore. I suppose the next stage if he still doesn't like the bath with DP is for him to get in with me, but then I really would feel as though I am monopolising all fun times with Caelan any thoughts???

Anyway, we are off up now to test out the bath once more... fingers crossed x

worriedamy · 16/09/2009 22:18

Also, would you mind giving me your opinions on this hairstyle (the cut not the colour!!) Can't decide whether to take the plunge and go for a fringe!! Do tell me if you think it looks awful- I have until Saturday to make my final decision!! This is a pic of what my hair looks like now ... me!! As you can see I have quite a large forehead, so not sure if I can get away with a fringe!!

MrsMcJnr · 16/09/2009 22:44

Hey ladies, meant to ask you, I need some TV programmes to get hooked on, anyone recommend anything? I will watch Strictly when it starts on Friday but I don?t watch anything else at all at the mo and think some TV would help me relax!

MrsMcJnr · 16/09/2009 23:09

Hello took DS to soft play today and put Aaliyah in a sling, she loved it and it meant I felt able to help DS more when he got stuck

Bigcar ? sorry to hear about Edward last night; hope it was a one off and that you can continue with your course. Sounds like Edward is thriving!

June ? that website sounds interesting, I?ll have a look your cleaner sounded loopy!!

Effie ? I know what you mean about time going too fast, I want it to slow down too!

Silkcushion ? its lovely how these names can stick, my cousin called my Grandpa ?Bah? and now everyone does

Naat ? walking is great exercise isn?t it? I braved the steep over-pass over the main road with the double buggy today and there was a head wind! how are you feeling? was last night any better sleep wise? Aaliyah woke at 3.30am. it's torture after her sleeping through.

Ermintrude ? out of all the names she could have been MIL insisted on being ?Grandma?, a title my Mum already has from my nephews. MIL now gets upset when DS looks confused when she walks into the room instead of my Mum ? not rocket science! My Gran wanted to be called ?GG? by her great-grandchildren but my eldest nephew called her ?Great? and it stuck!

Tee ? hello!

Worriedamy ? sorry to hear you have such low self-esteem at the moment. Be kind to yourself, you whole life has just been turned upside down and your baby is only 3 months old! Maybe a new bra would help you feel better? Sorry to hear about the bath situation, hope it worked well with DP tonight. Aaliyah loves her baths with her Dad and big brother! I think that style would look nice on you but will it be hard to maintain? I am so lazy, I just pull my hair back all the time, and I haven?t had it cut since 28th December!

silkcushion · 16/09/2009 23:37

Worried - I can't see the photo of you. However, I am also completely clueless with fashion/style so any opinion of mine would be worthless anyway . I remember dd1 went off baths suddenly but just as suddenly started enjoying them again.Babies don't always make sense.

Grandparents - we've got Nana (dh's mum), Grandma and Grandad (dh's dad and step mum) and of course Gary Smith and Grandpa (my parents)

Erm - my nanny will be turning in her grave to hear you say that 'nanny' is more working class. She thought she was dead posh

Big - I can't believe the size of Edward - he must be huge. Eleri has got long legs (she's filling a 6-9 month outercoat thing of Megan's) but is only 13lbs.

Naat - glad to hear the buttocks got a good workout . Since joining the gym I'm now used to constantly aching. Yesterday I had to see the GP for a check of my new coil. It involved an internal and she asked me to drop my thighs outwards (like a smear test position). She saw me grimace and made some comment about understanding it wasn't very dignifed. I didn't like to say I had no dignity left and the grimacing was because my bloody thighs ache so much from my gym session!

silkcushion · 16/09/2009 23:42

MrsM - I have to confess that whilst off work I have become addicted to Extreme Makeover Home Edition. It is very American (sorry Tee) and a bit OTT but heartwarming and guaranteed to have me sobbing everytime.

Also don't forget that there is Strictly It takes Two with Claudia Winkleman every evening at 6.30 (ok 7.30 for you) on bbc 2 for the serious addict

Naat switch from X factor to Strictly - it's loads better

Effielou · 17/09/2009 09:53

Morning all xxx

Grandparents names!!! Grannie- My mum!! Grandma and grandad- my dad and his wife ( much to "grannies" disgust ) Grandma and Bampy ( PILs)

Worried I'm with you on the self esteem thing but try and remind myself- that it wasn't long ago we had a baby- so not to be to hard on myself!!! easier said than done- when celebs look stick thin straight away!! Holly is gorgeous- but can afford personal trainers and nutritionalists to help her!!! But shes done it better than some ( sure posh had a mummy tuck!!!!)

bigcar Rupert was 15lbs a couple of weeks ago- so probably similar to Edward!!! I get sooo many comments on Doesn't he look fat!!!! and Winston Churchill comments!!! But I think he looks fine and I could eat him! Rupert was 36weeks and 7lb1oz- so had he'd gone to term, he'd probably 9lb+ so I'm not going to worry! I wish he'd slow down a little, so he's little for longer -iykwim!!!

Naat--- Still unsure why Flynn was "berry angry is you" in the words of a 3 year old!! I probably said no to something!! lol- he cracks me up!

My sil is pregnant!!! brother really didn't want anymore- they have 9 and 7 year olds!! I've just found out shes calling her bump-- squiggle and thats what I openly called Rupert!! Is it wrong to be pee'd off by it!! I still call him Squiggle too, as it was our way of getting Flynn to associate the bump- with the baby!! I will get over it- but right now!!grrrrrrrrr xx lol

Another questioin!!!!!! has 'everything' gone back to 'normal'-- I have absolutely NO disire to do "it" much to DH. very patiently understanding!!! I sort of feel something was cut away when I was sterlised (crying)and I have a block stopping me!! Not sure whether its just normal postnatal tiredness or something more!! I still fancy my hubby and love him to pieces- but its doing my head in!! and his!! Sorry its TMI- but I know you wise lot will have some advice!!!

Hope you have a fab day xxxxx xx

Skillbo · 17/09/2009 12:29

Good morning all.

Hope everyone is feeling refreshed and ready to go today. We were out late last night and poor Jazzy had a total meltdown.. real tears and bogeys everywhere. I felt pretty mean as we were out so I could see some friends an sh has got soo used to her routine, it really threw her. Oh well, back to the norm today!

She's having her jabs this afternoon - after the last lot, I'm not looking forwar to it. Not because she had loads of problems but her initial cry really got to me - she was fine by the time we got about a minute down the road by the surgery but I hated it. Oh well, a necessary evil I guess.

Worried - did you know there is currently a sale on Hot Milk bras.. sorry don't have the link but the nursing bras on there are currently £6 or so, well worth a visit. They don't do them in my size which makes me blue!

MrsM - I have to admit to being a Hollyoaks addict. Total trash telly but you can watch two episodes a day (with E4) and if you miss it, both C4 and E4 have a plus one channel. The acting is dreadful and the storylines are ridiculous but it's soooo easy to watch.

My mum and dad are Granny and Grandad and my MIL is Nanny. Seems to have been this way in both families for years, so quite lucky really. My parents live abroad though() so Jazzy will have perfected Nanny before they see her again which isn't great!

Effielou - I'm very much the same. From what I can gather, breastfeedig really saps your libido which is my excuse but I also feel things are a bit different down there and whilst, like you, I am still really attracted to my DP, I just can't work up the energy to jump on him. Am hoping it will sort itself out soon - although he is really patient, he is also gagging!

Anyways, take it easy all.. off to Baby Play with massage before the jabs so hopefully Jazzy will be nice and relaxed.

worriedamy · 17/09/2009 13:17

Thanks Skillbo, will defo have a look there! The only bras I have are the plain old Mothercare ones- I have to wash them so often then are starting to go a bit lumpy (!!), but they are so expensive to replace!!

Effie- know what you mean, my libido is non-existant. I remember reading before I had Caelan that bfeeding affects you libido, but I didn't think it would affect me, but it obviously has!! That combined with leaky boobs, not having any matching underwear at the mo, and a flabby belly, I'd rather just hide away under the covers!!! DP is v understanding luckily, he doesn't have that high a sex drive anyway (must be with him being so old ;) )!! Lol, I remember before I was with current DP, the thought of anyone over 35 still having sex was alien to me, ha!! I was 19-20 though!! It reminds me of a thread that was going a couple of weeks ago about embaressing things you said as a child- I remember when I was about 7-8 asking my dad if he had ever had sex with my mum!! I think we must have been doing something about it in school- dont know why else I would have asked!! Anyway, my dad gets a bit flustered when there is a snog on corrie, so he was mortified, anxiously scratched his head and said 'no', and it was left at that!! Ha, he isn't good when it comes to things like that!

Silk- dont know why that link wont work properly. Have put a couple more pics on my profile instead. I'm sure you have lovely fashion sense!!

MrsMcJnr- I tried a baby carrier on in mamas and papas the other day, but it seemed so awkward, and a big fuss to get on, so didnt bother with it in the end. The sling sounds great, can you bfeed with it on too?

The bath didn't go very well again last night I feel so bad something must have scared him. Tried sitting him in his bath this morning with his clothes on and no water in the bath, and he seemed fine. Had a bit of a play with his bath toys, and other that looking a bit confused (kept looking at me as if to say 'I think you have forgotten something mummy!') he was fine. So it must be the water. Dont know what to do Just that little change in his bathtime routine last night led to a rather disturbed night by his standards, went off to sleep about 12, then woke at 3.30 and then 6.30. No feeds either time (we haven't had a nighttime feed for about 3-4 weeks now), so he settles back down, but these last few weeks he has been sleeping right through from 12-8, sometimes 9 or 10. I dont want to cause too much disruption to his routine, as it works really well, but I also dont want to keep bathing him this way if it is scaring him what do you all think?

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 17/09/2009 13:40

Hi all,

Have 5 mins whilst 2 are "resting" in their rooms and A is still down atm.

Parents names- we have Grandma and Grandpa (mine) and Nanny [firstname] and Grandad [firstname] Mil and Step FIL, and Nanny [firstname] step MIL. Thank god they've got differnt firstnames!!!

DD2 mis pronouces A's name and she ends up as Ambell which is V cute as she introduces her proudly to EVERYONE we see

Effie- there mustbe something going round as all morning DD2 has been telling me she is "grumpy" (although she is beyond tired) !!! but then goes off happily grinning and playing (mybe mummy has said it once too often!?!).

As for the "Action" none here we are both too tired, I'm also kind of waiting until dh has had the snip booked for a few weeks time, as I concieve shockingly easily and don't want to take any chances.

I keep saying I'm tired but haven't realy gone into why, bascically DD2 is back on he Iv antibiotics at home. Which means 0600, 1400 and 2200 meds but the 2200 dose take approx an hour and a bit to get in depending on how her line is working, so I'm getting to sleep at 2230. A was waking for feeds at 1215ish then 0330 (and 0530 on a bad night) then I was up again at 0600. And once up we have to start the rest of the meds, physio and nebuliser regime which takes until about 8ish before breakfast then the pre-school run. I get home and A wants feeding again. I just feel like I'm on some weird treadmill, We have 1 more week of the IV's and I can't wait for them to finish!!!!!!!

I did a dream feed last night before bed which worked a bit better she still woke twice but I made her wait the 2nd time and stuck her Dummy in, she's not wasting away as she's 12lbs 12oz.

Anyway biggest DD now wants entertaining and I have to ring the hospital for drug levels before it all starts again..

Will try to keep on top of posts from now on (sings la la la in head very loudly to anyone who says it's not very likely!!)

oh Doris, that routine sound tough, I'm sure your DD2 will be glad when they are over too! At least with one more week left you can see the end in sight, hope you manage to keep your strength up and keep going x

btw, I've put some pics on my profile of Caelan, DP and myself! I have to say MNs way of uploading pics is very laboured!

afternoon all

erm, E is so lovely and chubby, he has the most squeezable thighs

tee, it's my dh that gets confused with the whole nanny and granny thing, the dcs have no problem at all

worried, hotmilk do some lovely nursing bras, with matching knickers too. Have a look here delivery is free now. I think the really cheap ones are on something like secretsale? Not used them though. I think figleaves also sell them. Remember Holly whatserface has the benefit of a hair and makeup department before she gets on the tv too. Sorry to hear C isn't keen on his bath time, do you think maybe trying his bath with less water in would help? Or maybe give the bath a miss for a couple of days and then try again?

MrsMcJnr, I watch too much crap on the tv these days I like mock the week, never fails to make me laugh as do things like QI, never mind the buzzcocks and strangely, top gear all easy going and lighthearted and no brain cells required, if not suitable for smaller viewers!

silk, E is a lump bit of a large lad He's certainly no light and delicate newborn! I was thinking of getting him a bumbo but saw the upper weight limit was 20lbs so thought it would be a bit of a short lived thing! Eleri will love having those long legs when she's older

effie, thankfully noone has told me E is fat people say, will you look at the size of him but I think that's more because he looks older than his 3 months, babies are supposed to be lovely and chubby Have you been letting F watch star wars? Sounds like something Yoda would say May the force be with you!

skillbo, hope the jabs go ok this afternoon. E has his last lot next week, will be nice not to have to worry after that Have you checked out the sizes in all the different hotmilk styles, some come in a bigger range of sizes than others.

Edward's been a lot happier today and has slept better for his naps. He turned himself right round in his cot last night, had his head where his feet started off, iyswim.
