hi all

Bigcar - Happy Birthday for yesterday! Pleased you had a good day

Bunny - hope you get the breastfeeding back on track and good to hear Delie is doing well and you are enjoying lots of cuddles. am very of Claudine!! I wouldnt EVER look like that no matter how hard i tried!

Tee - good luck with your postnatal check, mine is also tomorrow!

Naat - Isobel is also in 3-6 month sleepsuits, she is so long and her feet seem too big for the smaller ones too!

mrsmc - hope Aaliyah carries on sleeping so well for you!

June - Isobel's eyes also flicker and roll when shes asleep, its quite freaky to watch!! dh has a bit of a phobia of eyes and cant bear to look!!

hi to everyone else!

we are well here, mil is coming on Sunday to stay for the week. will be nice to have her here, dd1 absolutely adores her andoves spending time with her. don't think i've really got anything else to report, all is going well here (touch wood!!)

June2009 · 23/07/2009 21:28

hey Bunny, nice to see you back, we all stop posting for a few days and come back, that's what happens when you have little ones to look after :D
I have 12 kilos to loose to be back to pre-pregnancy weight, and then some!!
My trainer was texting me asking whether I was coming back to the gym soon (used to train everyday for an hour, 2 hours at the weekend) and I can't see it happen just yet.
I ahve another appointment with the doctor tomorrow to check my scar as I think it got infected again. Everytime it gets a little hot I can't keep it clean and dry. I think I'm doing too much, started work again and the way i'm sitting (tmi alert) I have a fold of skin going over it which is probably why. argh.
I'm also going to ask him about contraception. (though if I need antibiotics again the pill's not going to work.)

Laura have your boobs come down at all? Mine don't seem to have done but not leaking anymore.

Happy Bday bigcar :D do you have something nice planned at the weekend for it?
yay about the tumble drier dunno how id cope without mine!

ok gotta go for now!

LittleSarah · 23/07/2009 22:09

Managed a whole morning out today (8.30am - 2.30pm), knackered when we got home. However got out to see Harry Potter this evening which was lovely! Dd's dad came to pick her up and when I told him what dh and I were doing he said jokingly 'good old adult night out' (or similar). 'Ha ha! I think I've said goodbye to those for quite some time to come.' I replied.

Bunny - It is hard to get on sometimes, well to post! I can happily read but getting organised enough to put a post together takes more motivation! I too am jealous of those with babies sleeping through ! Alex is getting far better though generally only getting up once.

ermin - Alex is bloody huge too! I just can't get over it, he must be over 11Ib now and I look at all his lovely 0-3 stuff and know he hardly fits any of it now. Tis an excuse for some shopping at least...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY bigcar!! Glad you had such a lovely sleep, and maltesers! Fab. My graduation was great, strange anti-climax actually getting the certificate, blink and you miss it (plus is now shoved in a drawer!), but the day as a whole was great.

llynnn - Good to hear your MIL is coming to see you, that will be a help. My dd is mad about he granny too and it is lovely they are close and I know she is always happy to be looked after by granny. In fact if she stays over there she usually says 'can I stay for two days? Three days? Four days?' Charmed!

Tee - Good luck with your 6 week check, hope it goes smoothly!

LittleSarah · 23/07/2009 22:10

God I write terribly on these posts.

Naat · 24/07/2009 13:38

Hi Ladies!

LittleS, glad you had a great time with both DC If Alex is waking up only once then that's fantastic! Enjoy those hours of blissful sleep

June, how did the appt go? I hope it's not an infection again, sweetie.

Llynn, glad your MIL is coming and you'll have some help as well And glad all is well over there

Tee, how was your 6wks appt?

Bigcar, we're the opposite, don't understand lbs but I put them as they were included in the red book Yay on your new tumble drier, I have an airer and a garden with a line would be soooo much better

Hi bunny! Glad to read you here again LOL at the link

Hello to the rest of the Juners!

Right, remember the 100 pack of Huggies that gave us trouble? Well, I wrote a sweet email to them the other day, nothing rude, just told them what had happened (and said I didn't want to be a PITA) just because they needed to know about these things in order to solve any problems in Huggies world . They replied and thanked me for the email bla bla bla, apologised and said they were sending me some discount vouchers to make up for the bad purchase I got them yesterday and they are for 15 pounds!!! So yay, although they are not my favourite nappies, they are free nappies

DH went to London today to pick up Mila's passport, poor guy woke up at 5am and is coming back at 10pm as he went by bus (it was much cheaper than driving so...)

I had a nice lie in with Mila after he left but she managed to wee on our bed My fault as I hadn't put the nappy on well too sleepy to look at the barriers on the sides

Aaaanyway, hope you have a nice day today, lovely Juners!

worriedamy · 24/07/2009 16:53

hi everyone... Just wanted to say that I haven't forgotten about you all! my computer has attached some kind of virus to mumsnet! So it freezes everytime I go on! So am (trying to) keep up to date via my phone, but postin is rather difficult! Me and caelan are doin well by the way, him a lot better than me it seems! Hopefully will be able to post soon...just thought I'd let you know I'm still lurking!! x

MrsMcJnr · 24/07/2009 18:55

Hey ladies typed this yesterday but never got round to posting?. now I haven?t a clue where I read to..

Our town is in ?Feria? now which means we have a fun fair here for 5 days and there are lots of related fun activities. Last night was the first night of the fair and all the rides are ½ price for kids so we went along with my folks, there wasn?t that much that DS could do at 18 months but he was really soaking up the atmosphere. Aaliyah was gazing in wonder at the lights and listened to the music (maybe that?s why she slept so long!) My Dad was pushing the double buggy around enjoying the attention, my Mum was amazed, he never pushed any of us in the buggy!

Tee ? hope Adam?s cold didn?t develop further and that he is agreeing to sleep alone, it?s exhausting when you can?t get a break isn?t it?

Ermintrude ? did Arthur keep his sleep pattern last night? I know what you mean about not wanting to expose the jelly belly whilst feeding

Choccie ? have a lovely time at the family reunion sounds like you and the kids are having a great summer my Mum and I took DS to see ponies at a local farm yesterday, he loved them and was shrieking with excitement, so lovely to watch.

Silkcushion ? hope you and the girls are feeling much better.

Naat ? never had issue with Pampers with DS, I?d swear by them, Huggies were another story with him though?glad to hear Mila is sleeping well in the Moses basket, during the day Aaliyah sleeps in either the Moses basket inside or in the buggy outside, I try to get her out in the air as much as I can. Glad you got a baptism date ? must get on to that glad to hear your friends are enjoying their little girl.

Hey Llynnn

DS is going to soft play with DH this afternoon so I am hoping to get a couple of meals cooked for the next few days, we?ll see, Aaliyah is very hungry today after her long sleep (plus it?ll be the 6 week growth spurt kicking in I guess!)

June ? I think they wake up and startle themselves and that?s why they cry. Lovely to have smiles isn?t it? Aaliyah saves all hers for me have fun introducing Calypso to the relies the poo thing sounds a little like constipation doesn?t it?

Bigcar ? happy belated birthday and what a lovely pressie from Edward! I appreciated the advice about the nappies and it is worth trying Huggies with Aaliyah, you never know good news about your car yes, the neighbours in question have now gone only to be replaced by more?I?m with you on trying to catch a smile on camera, almost impossible!

lauraloo09 · 24/07/2009 19:24

hiya everyone i feel like I have abandoned you guys since Sarah came along I have been trying to keep up with everyone and their babies development, but just not had the time to comment it's as if Sarah knows when I am on the computer then she starts crying/screaming

Well Sarah is now over 1 month old and the past month has been great. She was born 7lbs 9oz and at yesterday's 'weigh-in' she was 9lb 14.5oz but HV said this was ok. She has been giving me more dirty nappies which is great and the Cow & Gate Comfort has been working great along with the dentinox.

I hope all of you are well and the coliky babies are feeling better, I do promise I will try to keep up...just didn't want you all to think I have forgotten the wonderful Juners! Oh just wondering if anyone has mentioned about meeting up and if so when would it be, think it would be lovely if a meet up could take place

lauraloo09 · 24/07/2009 19:26

june just saw you asked about my boobs lol . Mine have stopped leaking but not came down in size yet and it's not getting to the stage that mine are hurting my back I am now 1/2 stone lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight but my boobs are still 3 sizes bigger than pre-pregnancy.

llynnnn · 24/07/2009 19:52

hi all

what a day!! both dd's have got colds (not swine flu, thankfully!!) but are both grumpy especially dd1 who has refused to have a sleep all day but has just been so tired and emotional!! they are both asleep now so enjoying the peace (hope it lasts!!)

laura - good to hear from you and great that Sarah is getting on so well. we are using cow and gate comfort too, it was the only milk that helped dd1 as she suffered with constipation and stomach ache on the other formulas

mrsmc - the fair sounds good, glad you are able to get out and enjoy it. how did you get on with the coking?? whenever i try to get on with something one of the little darlings soon stops me in my tracks!!

Amy - good to hear from you, hope you get your pc fixed soon so you can chat more!

naat - well done on the vouchers!! what a result!! you may find that as Mila grows Huggies fit her better than the others, definitly worth trying again especially while they are free!!

littlesarah - glad you enjoyed your graduation! Isobel is also way over 11lb now, she was 11lb 2oz last week bless her!!

june - hope you havent got another infection, it must be really getting to you now, hope you are ok

i had my 6 week check today, all is fine apart from i have a water infection!!! i feel fine though but am now back on antibiotics!! the doctor said that even though i feel ok he wants to treat it due to bladder issues i had after the birth!! why do i get the feeling my waterworks are never going to be the same again!! its a good job Isobel is so utterly gorgeous or I'd be having words about the damage caused!!

ermintrude13 · 24/07/2009 22:29

Hi all

Lynnn I had 3 days of abs for a water infection during pregnancy (I didn't notice any symptoms except immense lethargy) and they worked brilliantly so maybe you'll feel a big change after taking them. Glad Isobel is doing well. Arthur can't be far from 11lb and he won't be 4 wks old till Monday. Still has some newborn look about him, but not for long I fear...

Naat free nappies, can't be bad

MrsMc enjoy Feria, sounds lovely. I've ordered some b/feeding tops off that site you mentioned - for times I really can't just stuff him up my tee shirt

Lauraloo at that weight loss. I have to steer clear of chocolate and need to be more determined about it - my sister's wedding in Sept is a good thing to aim for.

Worried good to hear from you, good luck with getting pc probs sorted soon, how frustrating.

Hey Bunny good to hear from you too.

Young master calling. night night

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 25/07/2009 14:36

Hello all. So sorry I haven't been able to catch up. We're in the throes of potty training DS as DH is off for 6 weeks and it seemed the right time as he's been showing signs for weeks but I've been in denial as it seemed like such a hassle. Well, it's been going okay. A few accidents and we haven't braved leaving the house yet, but apart from that it's okay. Mind you, we're only on day 2 so don't want to speak too soon.....

Emily is doing okay. She sleeps for a five hour block at night now, so the sleep deprivation is easing off. Saying that, she had a crappy night last night as DH brought her to bed at midnight full of wind and a full nappy so I had to wake her up to change her pants and Dentinox-ed her to bring up the wind. This woke her up and she stayed awake for two hours! AAAGH! He's under strict instructions to change her pants and make sure she's as wind-free as poss before he brings her up tonight....

Got my 6-8 week check next Thursday as the surgery couldn't fit me in when she was 6 weeks so she'll be 8.... oh well.

Not sure what to do about contraception as I know I'll be awful taking the mini-pill (my sister fell pregnant twice on it!). Guess it'll have to be condoms until I stop BF then I can have the coil fitted. Not sure when we'll get the time to even need it as by the time we collapse into bed, we're both so shattered!

My insomnia is bad at the moment so even when I get a few hours at night, I'm often awake for most of them.

Emily's colic seems to have calmed down a bit so the osteopath is working, it seems.

Got 14 pounds left to lose before I'm pre-pregnancy weight. It's coming off steadily though so I'm not too worried.

So sorry I can't respond to anyone individually. Life is so chaotic!

bigcar · 25/07/2009 15:48

afternoon all

ineed, glad to hear all's going well Just in case you haven't heard this before, when going out while potty training take a carrier bag/folded bin liner and a folded hand towel to but in buggy/car seat in case of accidents.

worried, hello

llynn, sorry to hear about the infection, I know what you mean about having words my belly is still quite tender in places.

laura, great weight gain Edward is the same, only he starts when we sit down for dinner most evenings, think he's feeling left out

MrsMcJnr, hope you got your meals sorted. Dhs parents are the same, our kids get away with allsorts of things he used to get in a lot of trouble for when he was little, must be a perk of being a grand parent

naat, bit of result there with huggies Bet your dh was knackered after all that travelling!

littlesarah, glad the graduation day went well My certificate has been shoved in a draw now for about 14 years and hasn't seen the light of day since Been too busy having babies ever since

june and tee, hope your checks went well

thanks for all the kind wishes on my birthday ladies, much appreciated My weekend has consisted so far of ironing, ironing and a bit more ironing, I'm so far behind it's unbelievable, especially now my tumble drier is all sorted! Better get on and do a bit more

waves to all

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 25/07/2009 17:07

That's a good tip bigcar - I was wondering what to do! He's had a mixed day today. Lots of wees on the potty (with a smartie as a treat each time) and a few umprompted ones too. One big poo on the floor though, which I missed as I was feeding Emily. He did tell me though shouting 'poo poo mummy', so hopefully he'll make it to the potty next time!

Happy birthday, by the way xx

Tee2072 · 25/07/2009 17:35

Hey all!

Rough couple of days of whining and eating a lot and not sleeping. And then there's Adam...

Sounds like everyone is coping fairly well. I had my 6 week and all looks well with my wound etc. I have been put back on all my 'mad meds' from before I became pregnant, so hoping to feel like my old self ASAP!

Hello to all and lots of hugs and wishes for full nights of sleep.

OP posts:
Naat · 25/07/2009 18:31

Ineed, well done Alfie! (for being only his second day I mean ) Sooo glad to hear Emily is much better now and her colic is going away

Bigcar, yeah, poor guy came home, had dinner and we went to bed. Luckily Mila had a great night only waking up once. Glad to hear you had a great time celebrating your bday but sorry to hear you're snowed in ironing hope you find a good TV show to make it easier

Worried, glad to hear you're doing well. Hope you can solve your pc problems soon and we can read you more

Ermin, hi! Hope you're having a nice wkend

Llynn, glad to know the appt went well except for the infection. Fingers crossed the AB will clear it soon Sorry to hear both LOs have a cold HOpe it clears soon.

Laura, hi! So nice to read you again also glad to hear Sarah is doing well with dentinox and not having trouble with wind anymore

Mrsmc, hi! Ohhhh a Feria, so nice!! Well, we can't complain much, there are loads of festivals here in England in many towns but ferias are really fun! Glad you had a good time. Did you manage to get some meals done?

Hi to all the rest of the Juners!

We went into town today to get the postal orders for the Home Office (visa renewal) and felt my pockets had been ransacked The weather has been quite nice... Some friends were coming to see Mila, apparently they came, rang the doorbell, the bloody thing isn't working and as they had left their mobile at home had to go back They're coming tomorrow fortunately

Oh, I baked my first cake in years today and it tastes good! DH approved

Anyway, hope you're having a nice day and hope you get a nice sleep tonight

LittleSarah · 25/07/2009 21:18

Quick one.

Big shout out to Daisy! Thank you so much for the tip about Bob's books. I am making dh a book for our first wedding anniversary and I LOVE it, it is fab! The only problem is I think it is such a great gift it will over shadow whatever he gets me! Still, it is something special for both of us, charting our first year of marriage. I have gone up from 24 pages to 40! One thing is I need to wait until dh's brother has his baby (due 7th August) for the final photos so I just hope that it will be made on time (anniversary 5th Sept, most amusingly Alex was born 9 months and 1 day after we got hitched )... still I'm sure dh will understand if it is a few days late. Anyway, thanks again! (I'll be doing something for my mum for Christmas too!)

silkcushion · 25/07/2009 23:38

aaargh - I can't believe how far behind the thread I've fallen.

Have spent half the week lying on the sofa feeling really ropey with this heavy cold and bfing constantly. Actually got to the point where I couldn't find anything on Sky I wanted to watch (how many channels are there?). I don't normally watch tv at all and have now watched more crap programmes than I need to in my whole life.

All 3 of us girls are much better today so we've been out and about to a local National Trust park.

Catch up soon I hope

daisy5 · 26/07/2009 15:46

littlesarah - so pleased to hear that. It really was the best present I ever gave dp. I made one of all the photos of dp and dd for the first year and put funny little phrases about fatherhood throughout it. He keeps it in London and looks at it every night when he is down there before he goes to bed. The quality is also excellent. I got one done through Jessops for my final photo assignment (because I was in a hurry and needed it within 7 days) but the quality wasn't so good and it didn't open so nicely, so next time I am definately going back to Bob's books. I did plan to give it to him on Father's Day but it took so long to make that I didn't give it to him until mid summer. I went away for a weekend with a girlfriend to a spa and left the book wrapped up on the bed and told him to open it after I had left. He said he cried.

Good idea - I should make one for my parents of their grandchildren for Christmas.

Oh, they do tell you somewhere on the website how long it takes to make - I think it was around 2 weeks, but you might want to email them to check.

I am really out of touch with the thread. DD came down with croup. She was much better Tues afternoon so we went to the concert (I can't tell you how great I felt that night - how wonderful was it to be out in the real world feeling like a normal person - not a huge pregnant one - I sang along loudly and danced too - fantastic for the soul). But when we got home she was getting worse and so we took her to A&E - it was croup so she got the steroid injection. Have been trying to keep her and Fraser in separate rooms so he doesn't catch the virus, and although he seemed hot at times, he hasn't caught it so that's a relief.

Will be back online soon and catch up.

lol

MrsMcJnr · 26/07/2009 17:10

Hey girls, reading backwards again to try and keep up hope you are all doing well. We had another good night with Aaliyah last night, midnight until 7am but she has been feeding every 45mins ? 1 hr for the last few days, I guess it?s time for another growth spurt. We are also getting lots of poos again so my uptake of fruit must be helping with that.

Went shopping to buy some new shorts yesterday but could only find one pair in the sales in Mango because the new collection is in, all duffle coats and roll neck jumpers, its 40c and I can?t believe people have already started buying things for winter.

Daisy ? that book sounds so lovely, maybe I should make one for DH for his birthday in February. So sorry about DD?s croup must have been really hard for you the last few days I?m glad you got some Soul Food at that concert though

Silkcushion ? hope you are feeling much better soon, you must feel really drained. I never watch TV but remembered how often I was stuck on the couch feeding DS so I got box sets of ?Brothers and Sisters?, ?ER? and ?Nip Tuck? and I am making my way through those

Littlesarah ? you are so organised, I can?t believe you have done that book whilst raising 2 kids, what a wonderful mother and wife you are. I feel like I fall down badly on the wife front 9 months and 1 day hey, that?s fertility for you

Naat ? got 2 meals done but it took me 3 hours with all the stopping and starting due to feeding Aaliyah! What a woman you are, making cakes!

Tee ? glad to hear your appointment went well we don?t get a 6 week check here but I do need to schedule an appointment to get my blood checked now that I am off the blood thinning meds. Hope Adam is happier now

Ineedmore ? sounds like potty training is going well that?s great that Emily?s colic is easing off

Bigcar- hope you have conquered the ironing!

Hey June

Ermintrude ? its so boring trying to think about what you eat and about getting back into shape isn?t it? I just can?t be bothered yet

llynnnn ? hope your girls are feeling much better and you are getting some peace to get over that infection, I find that even 10 mins of doing something like clearing a drawer makes me feel able to get back on the baby merry-go-round again, it?s the control freak in me .

Laura ? well done on the weight loss hon, that?s great I am 6 pounds less than I was pre-pregnancy but I still have a lot of work to do, especially on the belly and bum which are looking really flabby don?t worry about keeping up on here, I never managed when I had DS, not for 6 months it can become just another stress if you let it. So glad to hear that Sarah is coming along so well

Worriedamy ? hope you get your computer fixed soon

Sadly, that?s as far as I can get at the mo, more later ? maybe! Take care everyone x

insywinsyspider · 26/07/2009 21:25

Hello all - sorry been away for so long, loving having 3 so close in age but not much time for anything else at moment

we're all doing ok but had a scary week stay in hospital with Bear last week, he had high temperature, I took him to GP's (waited on doorstep for them to open to ask if I could give him calpol as he's only 4 weeks and they sent me with referal letter for him to be admitted, it is seriously scary how fast they can go down hill, by the time I got there he was panting, mottled skin, fast heart rate and still refusing to feed - anyway had full septic screen whilst they fear the worst and treat it with IV antibiotics and it took 4 days for all the results to come back and he was fine. It seriously messed up my other ds's and I'm struggling a bit with the extra sleep deprivation from hospital (crappy pull out bed to sleep on and at leaat 3 nights awake watching him breath as too paranoid not too) and the boys pushing every boundary going (ds1) or clinging to me like I'm going to run off and leave them (ds2)

so what did I miss?
for me I'm 6 wks in and having breastfed ds's both till 7 months I'm ready to quit because I need some physical space I feel really guilty about it because I find feeding easy as in lots of milk ds3 putting weight on again, but wanting to stop for me, feels selfish
