weird.. why'd my phone do that? sorry folks!

pulapula · 11/07/2009 20:46

Evening all,

I am starting to think S just doesn't want to be held sometimes! He was mr grumpy at my mum's birthday party, crying a lot, and i assumed he was tired or hungry (but didn't seem hungry when i took him off for a feed). As soon as we put him in his car seat he was quiet and was OK in the car (didn't sleep either so maybe he wasn't tired). He was also calm when he had his nappy changed.

Blottedcopybook · 11/07/2009 20:48

Anyone want a toddler? I have two you can pick from?

/me runs and hides under the sofa

pulapula · 11/07/2009 21:04

I also have 2 toddlers, free to a good home . One house-trained, one has a tendency to wee on the carpet after his bath.

Actually, DD was very good today at my mum's party as someone gave her a big pack of felt-tips and a colouring book so she was happy.

DS showed a lot of interest in the tomatoes and strawberries in the buffet- great I thought- healthy eating. Turns out it was only because they were spherical and therefore great for throwing around .

flippineck · 11/07/2009 22:43

Lots of lovely of toddler donations, but I think I'll give it a miss thanks - mine is quite challenging enough! She hasn't been too bad today, but I guess that's because DH is around. We had fun this afternoon making my own birthday cakes (DH forgot to buy one for me!) - we only made fairy cakes but the icing bit was good.

A is asleep - she fell asleep on me about an hour ago but woke when I tried to get her to bed, so I put her down anyway and she resettled herself! Fingers crossed for a good night.

Can't decide what to do tomorrow, DH has offered to take us all out for lunch (which would be lovely, we have several options for nice places to go) but I have a craving for a really good cream tea...I just can't make up my mind what to do, can't do both.

looby - don't beat yourself up about the formula, you are doing brilliantly. Hope you have a lovely dinner tonight.

momino - no advice about the fontanelle, sorry, just sympathy - A is incredibly snotty, and because she isnt feeding all that well she's getting very windy too, snorting and farting all night last night.

flippineck · 11/07/2009 23:02

Hope you all have good nights! Off now.

Blottedcopybook · 11/07/2009 23:53

Pula My 3 year old crapped on the kitchen floor yesterday. Hubby was cooking dinner at the time and Greer was feeding so I couldn't get up and deal with it.

I've never been so pleased to be breastfeeding.

Looby - Listen my lovely, look how well you've done after every setback you have faced with the breastfeeding. One bottle of formula does not a failure make.

I'm away to bed. I'm trying this new fangled idea called a routine and it seems to be working for my brats. Fingers crossed, eh?

ladyhelen2 · 12/07/2009 12:17

No one about this morning? or is my MN playing up?

Awful night with R.Noticed he was snuffly late afternoon and a bit more sleepy then than he normally is. By 10pm I was convinced he was proper poorly as he had a temp of 38. You have all the worst going through your head ( the M word being the main one) but it is a cold as when he was on his back he was clearly having difficulty breathing through his nose and you could hear the snot rattling around. So I basically sat up in bed with him on me till 3am. No sleep for me then. He took 5oz from his bottle then so that made me feel better and we got his chair (WHY didn't we think of that sooner??) so he could sleep in a semi upright position, and he did. WOke at his usual time and had another bottle so I think he's ok and DH took both DSs out this morning so I could sleep in.

Its hard isn't it, not worrying about every single little thing? He clearly just has a cold. DS1's nose is streaming too so its likely R has just got it off him.

looby I think you have done a fantastice job with the BF and one bottle of formula isn't going to damage what you have done so far. Hows it been since?

blotted what is it about the crapping? My DS ( now 4) has had 5 poo accidents in the last ten days when he has not had one in over a year. Why now? Sadly I've had to deal with every single one.

LoobyLou36 · 12/07/2009 16:16

afternoon all..

M is still cluster bf. had to give her that one ff at 3ish yesterday then she actually slept in her chair for 2.5hrs while I prepared meal/decorated table etc. fed her 6-6.45ish then settled her in her chair while we dished up dinner, managed the main course before she wanted another feed I then fed her on and off till 10.30 when she nodded off and went into her moses basket where she slept till 4.30 when she wanted another feed so fed 4.30-5.30 then 7-8 then 10.30-11.
Drove to PIL for lunch then fed 12.30-1 put her in her chair but ended up feeding her at the dinner table while eating pudding 2-2.40
Drove home, got home 4pm and still feeding....

no more formula given so far tho so I've obviously got enough milk

sausagenmash · 12/07/2009 17:12

HellLLOOOOOO!!!! OMG, I can't believe I haven't been on here for ages! We've moved and its taken EONS to sort the bloody internet out. Just popping in to say hello, M is having the screaming wotsits so best be a nice mummy and give her a cuddle.

Hope I haven't missed much? Sorry - don't think I'll be able to go back and read weeks of posts! Can anyone give me a rundown?

We're ok, apart from M's tummybutton was really pokey outey so the GP put silver nitrate on it which oozed and burnt her. Ggrr. I'm also cream crackered, and have turned to formula, but only for the last feed at night. Bad me

daizydoo · 12/07/2009 17:51

Hi, another prodigal returning! I've been reading but been unable to post due to the dc wanting one thing or another (how inconsiderate ) I've been meaning to wish Momino happy birthday - how late am I?!?! You don't look 40! Also was it Flippin's bday - happy bday to you to!!

I've had quite a crappy week. Thankfully ds2's chicken pox wasn't too bad. Ds1 and I have nasty coughs and it looks like Dh and ds2 are getting it too. Ds2 has a low grade fever tonight and is generally grumbly poor thing. Looks like I'll have postpone his 8 week jabs again.

I also have a toddler free to a good home - unfortunately he's not house trained and will cause chaos where ever he goes!

Got to go and try and find a pea and ham soup recipe for dh

LoobyLou36 · 12/07/2009 18:08

welcome back sausage daizydoo

pulapula · 12/07/2009 19:58

Evening ladies,

I am cream-crackered. Just spent the day out with extended family. S was crying if he wasn't feeding or sleeping so not much fun, and I had to carry him in his sling all the time as he would just scream in his pushchair. DD and DS1 got very tired and DS1 fell and has a nasty bump so they were both very fragile tonight!

Too tired to go and make something to eat and so is DH who had to run after the older DCs most of the day.

Blottedcopybook · 12/07/2009 20:09

Welcome back Sausage and Daizy!

Helen I'm so glad I'm not the only one with the poo woes!

FiKelly · 12/07/2009 21:28

just popping on to wish flippin a happy birthday & hope you had a great day.

big helloos to long time no sees

flippineck · 12/07/2009 22:31

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Lovely day, went to the seaside and had lunch out, got a bit drunk by accident! DDs bought me some Clarins eye cream and some chocolate, and DH gave me a lovely dressing gown and some shortie pyjamas. Impressed with his choices.

I also managed to find two tops that I like in Fat Face, so feeling very slightly better about the clothing situation. Think I'm going to buy some chunky necklaces to attempt to liven up my old clothes (and detract from wobbly bits)!

Off to bed now, it's been a tiring day - in a nice way, part from bed time which was hell on earth as usual.

Momino · 12/07/2009 23:00

Hi. not been on for a whole day. very unlike me.

flippin,a very happy birthday to you! sounds like you had a great day and DH was great with the gift-giving.

sausage, daizy, good to see you back.

fontanelle, thank you so much for your advice yesterday, i think she may have been slightly dehydrated but is much better today. She fed fine today until this evening when she bobbed on/off and screamed at the boob. Gave her a couple oz of expressed milk in a bottle which she took fine then switched her straight to BF. I couldn't understand why she was rejecting BF but you mentioned yesterday it could be her stuffiness (ladyhelen, H very snuffly as well). I hope that is the reason and that she isn't rejecting BF! we'll see how she does tomorrow.

looby, you're doing great with the feeding .

pula, hope you're getting some sleep tonight!

laughing as well at the toddler swapping, crapping, etc .

was busy with inlaws today, fussy Harper and trying to get stuff on ebay.

hope everyone else is well today.

dandy no rolling here, thankfully. I usually put Harper on the bed and am not ready for rolling. i dread the moment she's mobile!

Jennster · 12/07/2009 23:51

Momino I'm eating a pot of yoghurt that is more than a month out of date. Eat the Gu!

Belgian We have Onelife BTP and Size2 TotsBots Bamboozles. With DD1 they were fine(short and skinny), with ds, they weren't. He is only 30lb and yet they are meant to go up to 40lb. He is a right little chubster. DD2 I suspect won't need to use the toddler nappies (Toddle-Ease.) She is going to be tall and skinny and so unless she needs nappies for longer than 2 years (DS def will) then we'll be fine.

Drinking Don't drink other than to thirst. Drinking more water won't increase your supply. When it's hot you should drink more to stay hydrated, but then you will automatically.

Blotted ROFL at eating young. I agree.

Uniqlo I used to go to the one in Liverpool, but they closed it and now I think they only have stores in London or the South East.

Hi all

happy birthday flippin

dandy - wow at rolling you obv have a v advanced lo one your hands

hi to saus and daizy glad you're back

still having to hold a at all times to sleep which is vdraining and had an unsettled weekend after mil visit -I think she thought she was doing us a favour by shoving a dummy in a's mouth and keeping her despite me insisting she needed feeding resulted in one v grouchy, hungry and overtired lo. Grrrrr

Momino · 13/07/2009 07:02

runningmonkey, hope A settled down in the night.

Harper woke up once in the night (not sure what time) for a quick feed then again at 530is when she just fed/lay with me for an hour. now, just watching her happily kick on the bed, listening to the older 2 DDs chatting in their beds, waiting for dd1 to come running into my bed and dd2 to demand being picked up. trying to make this semi-quiet moment last.

I think we'll have a quiet day today, dd1 sounds very chesty.

Hope everyone had a reasonable sleep and all are well today .

Morning everyone. Nice to hear from you Sausage and Divedaisy.

Re Rolling, G rolled from his back to his side on Saturday, so I can't leave him now either. Sigh ! But total rolling, now that is impressive Dandy

Survived the weekend and still no symptoms of Swine Flue here. I'm still feeling extremely anxious about the whole thing, and DH was quite keen to keep DC out of school and pre-school this week. This is making me panic a bit but I think that we should just carry on as normal, just being vigilant about washing hands and keeping surfaces clean. Apparently the vaccine is likely to be rolled out towards the end of the year...

I was so looking fwd to the weekend (my 10th wedding anniversary and the wedding) but my bro rang last night to let me know that my parents have been having big arguments. I am now feeling anxious about leaving the DDs with them, as they are hard work and I don't want my parents to be shouting at them too. I am going to call Mum today to discuss my concerns. Apparently she has been drinking quite a lot in the evening which is unheard of, so worrying about that too.

In fact, I am just worrying about everything at the moment and just need to chill out !

Have a lovely day everyone.
